I have my baby girls birthday ladies 😮! I had my consultants meeting on Monday and was told she would put it through that I’m having a planned section but wouldn’t get a date until 32 weeks which was fine as most people don’t get a date until after 36 weeks. I got the letter through today with my pre op appointment and my c section date! It’s so strange knowing when it will be.

NSx · 21/04/2023 15:53

@NatGee I was offered the NIPT at 10 weeks but the NHS one does not tell you gender, just so you know 💕😱 which suited me as I don’t want to know 😂
I thought I was maybe going to have to speak to my GP about my sickness but I’m a trooper and I tried to persevere & can say now at 13 weeks there’s been an improvement thank God

OP posts:
NatGee · 21/04/2023 15:44

although they probably should be, too

@NatGee yes, i am indeed! my NHS scan is next Wednesday but if they don't give me a nipt ill just have a private one done. I'm mustering the courage to call the department to ask... Ill be annoyed if they say no, although I think they might
omg, so glad you didnt have to go in for fluids - why do our bodies do that? 😥

NatGee · 21/04/2023 15:41

@allgoodthings84 oh, yes I am aware of the warning on the NHS website, thank you 😊 good that doctors aren't nutritionists

NSx · 21/04/2023 15:21

@NatGee the body is a weird and wonderful thing isn’t it 🤍 are u finding out the gender?
I’m a bit better with water now but before I was throwing it up, I was so dehydrated my lips were so cracked 😑
@allgoodthings84 mine has gotten slightly better but I don’t fancy eating everything 😱 are you eating well now?

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 13:28

@NSx my diet was shockingly bad for the first trimester. I can eat most things again now though phew

@NatGee careful with liver as it’s high in Vit A which is harmful to baby. It’s on the nhs list of foods to avoid.

NatGee · 20/04/2023 23:15

Ladies remember to keep hydrated - very annoyingly i caught a uti and i really think a large part of it was because I couldnt drink when I felt so nauseous. Currently on antibiotics (not ideal but no choice) for a few days and feel much better for it.

NatGee · 20/04/2023 23:12

@nsx oh wow what a lovely picture, baby is all there, legs, head, hands, arms wow unbelievable that we're carrying such fully formed human beings. i still pinch myself its actually true :D I am not taking a prenatal, its a lot of pills but i take what i think i need individually (high dose Vit C, Vit D, omega 3, methylfolate, electrolytes, probiotics) and then eat eggs for things like choline and liver for even more folate and so many other vitamins. my blood test came back slightly low on ferritin, missed the threshold by a whisker so ill supplement with molasses rather than pills as id like to avoid getting constipated. I may drop the folate but i havent thought about that just yet

With the nausea i feel like i haven't been eating as well as I should have but i am wanting to change that soon. Really dont want to get GD or anything like that...

NSx · 20/04/2023 22:38

@allgoodthings84 thanks for that explanation it helps a lot 🤍🤍 my diet has been… errr .. strange 😂 since I’ve been pretty sick 😅😂

allgoodthings84 · 20/04/2023 22:30

@NSx I will be 22 weeks on Saturday 😊. You can stop folic acid but the rest of what’s in pregnancy vitamins is good to carry on taking as baby takes everything it needs from you so you’re left with the dregs. The vitamins are for our sake now, especially the vitamin D (which should be taken throughout pregnancy), iron and b vitamins. I think as long as you eat enough of the right foods you can stop but to carry on taking the vitamin D. That’s what I’ve been told in both pregnancies by midwives and GP’s anyway. I have a tendency to be on the low side of iron and b12 so feel better taking them. The vit D is the most important for the baby after 12 weeks though, the rest is for you.

NSx · 20/04/2023 22:25

I’ve read you can stop at 12 weeks. I’m still taking Pregnacare - tbh I dread it every night 😂😂😂 and don’t know what to do about it @allgoodthings84 .. ah you’re exactly 8 weeks before me then 💕

allgoodthings84 · 20/04/2023 22:25

@NSx that’s a lovely scan picture 💕

allgoodthings84 · 20/04/2023 22:23

@NSx due date is 26th August but will be having a c section at around a week before. I’ve been taking boots pregnancy vitamins since I found out I’m pregnant. They are for throughout pregnancy.

NSx · 20/04/2023 22:20

@NatGee I’m glad things are going well for you? When is your 12 week scan? I’m due in August 😊

NatGee · 20/04/2023 21:34

Hello ladies!! so good to have updates from you :D
sorry i am only replying today but ive been away from here, our thread have a whatsapp group and ive been spending more time there than here

@NSx chuffed your scan went well and your NIPT is low risk, what a relief indeed. Have you had your 13 week scan too now? how was that? @allgoodthings84 so glad your scan went well and youre fully into baby buying mode for your little girl, so very happy for you @HoneyPea good luck for your scan this Saturday, difficult not to worry, i think we all wish we had a little window we could just poke our head into every so often and see how baby is getting on :)

I think our due dates are all at different months, am i right, @allgoodthings84 @HoneyPea youre both september, @NSx you're october and I'm November

allgoodthings84 · 20/04/2023 21:32

@NSx I hope your scan went well?

NSx · 20/04/2023 21:23

@HoneyPea sorry i didn’t get a notification for this message 😅 … September isn’t too far away really is it… you’re about 6 weeks ahead of me or there abouts I think! Scary stuff 😂😂😂

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 17/04/2023 21:13

@HoneyPea yea that’s what I find so odd with me. I’ve no idea where they tuck themselves in. I’m only a size 8 pre pregnancy so not big. I can feel kicks sometimes above my belly button though and my bump goes from high to low so maybe just more spread out who knows 😂. With my daughter they predicted her to be 7lb 10oz at due date (based on 2 growth scans) but she was born 8 days late at 6lb 12oz so on her due date would have been a lot smaller even. I don’t trust growth scans fully. I imagine I’ll end up having to have at least one growth scan with this one too as I know my bump will measure small at my 28 weeks midwife appointment. It will at my 24 weeks one too but they don’t start growth scans until 28 weeks apparently. I’m not worried as I can feel her in there even though I’ve got an anterior placenta and she’s measuring over 10th percentile and in proportion. I don’t expect a big baby from previous experience and my size. My daughter isn’t small now (shes 8 next month) she’s completely average height. Just think my body knows what it can carry safely.

HoneyPea · 17/04/2023 20:03

@allgoodthings84 I always seem to have a big bump (people asking if more than one/saying I can't have long left etc) but I think it is more it is a normal sized bump that looks huge on me because I'm so small and petite so it has nowhere to go! DS was actually really small 6lb2oz (even though a growth scan said he was 7lb10oz at 37wks!!!) so will be getting growth scans this time.
@NSx Due date of 9th Sept but will be having another c section (last one was emergency one but had been scheduled for later in the week due to him being breech and because of a hip issue I have) Really hoping it is before the first day of school as I really don't want to miss DSs first day of reception 😢

NSx · 17/04/2023 10:27

@allgoodthings84 sounds like you got a good deal 🤞 we don’t want black either so going with something that’s lighter but not too light. I really love the colour of the mink, and it will be suitable for a girl or a boy as we’re not finding out the sex 💕
I think as long as baby is healthy, then if you manage to have a nice neat bump then it looks nicer anyways 😂😂🤍🤍🤍
my sister in law has small babies and had to get a section along with growth scans for her second baby - baby was absolutely fine though 🤍
so lovely for your daughter to have a baby sister, I have a sister myself and I think it’s such a nice bond 🤍
@HoneyPea can’t believe you’re all into 20 week scans and here’s me having a 13 week scan 😂
when is your due date?

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 17/04/2023 10:04

@HoneyPea yea I have no idea why my bumps are tiny. Was with my daughter too. Makes no sense as I don’t have a long torso I’m short and in proportion. I think this bump is even smaller than before from looking at pictures but she’s measuring over the 10th percentile for everything and she’s in proportion so I’m happy. I have no idea what percentile she’s on they just said it’s over 10th so nothing to be concerned about there and at the 17 weeks private scan she was measuring bang on so I’m not concerned.

I was so scared before my 20 weeks appointment but everything was ok. I’m sure it will be for you too 🥰

HoneyPea · 17/04/2023 07:21

@NSx So glad your NIPT results were low chance 💜
@allgoodthings84 I'm under 5ft but the opposite here, very clear I was pregnant from early on. Still getting the dreaded are you sure it's not twins even from the midwife at my booking in appointment 🤦‍♀️
20wk scan is on Sat which is bang on 20wks to the day. Feeling really nervous that something will be wrong 😢

allgoodthings84 · 15/04/2023 13:58

@NSx my daughter is so excited! She’s wanted this for so long bless her. Not much of a bump. I have got one but if you didn’t know I was pregnant might just think I’m getting fat 😂. My bump doesn’t stick out it’s long so from higher up right down. I didn’t have much of a bump with my daughter but think it was bigger at 21 weeks than this one is! I’m not worried though as I know baby is measuring fine I must just carry them tucked in. I’m only 5ft so I’m guessing I don’t produce big babies. My daughter was 6lb 12oz but at 8 days late! My bump with her was measuring 31 weeks at 41 weeks. I’ll probably end up having to have growth scans again because of bump size like I did with her but it’s fine I’ve had it before so know it’s likely fine still.

allgoodthings84 · 15/04/2023 13:53

@NSx the ocean blue (basically navy 😂) as I didn’t want a black one and the other 3 colours are too light and will get filthy and then just not look so nice. We didn’t get the baggie style footmuff that’s on all the online shops (looks like a sleeping bag to me 😂) we went for the traditional style footmuff as looks so much nicer on the pushchair and to our surprise was no extra even though it looks more expensive. That’s why I was glad to go into a shop instead of online as wanted to try it out and see what it looks like in real life. We got 10% off our whole order and with a travel system and next to me bed (plus other little bits) that’s a decent saving.

We went for the joie roomie glide next to me bed as it’s slightly bigger than the others and we loved how it works and looks. We got sheets and mattress protector ordered too. Again, we was getting a chicco one until we saw these in the shop. My partner surprised me, he wanted everything 😂 he normally hates spending money but he’s so excited. He wants to buy everything new which is madness so I’ve been sneaking second hand sleeping bags and sleepsuits ha ha
