@ChickenT2b . I am not sure about Tommy's. Yes the GP may offer bloods or you may get told to wait and see. I would just use FRERs personally and leave it 48 hours between tests to give the HCG a chance to rise. Is hard to know as test lines can fluctuate in colour and all can be well or it can be a sign of a chemical pregnancy.

ChickenT2b · 22/04/2023 08:35

@BudgetBuster i am 16 dpo today. I can’t help but keep testing because I am freaking out ☹️. I just want to see a darker test and they keep getting lighter.

Does anyone know if Tommy’s offer bloods for this? I could ask GP but it will take ages to come back anyway. I don’t know what to do 😖

@ChickenT2b sorry you are in this position hope the next test is stronger.

@Ella31 I use proceive and my cycles are generally getting better as time goes on.

1dpo here so the 2ww begins. Not feeling particularly hopeful as had an 'ok' rather than great attempt this month but as they say it only takes one..! Good luck everyone

BudgetBuster · 21/04/2023 15:54

Looks slightly lighter, but the one from Wednesday has been drying out for 2 days. I'd say do another Monday morning and if you still aren't certain ask for bloods.

It's mad how much we analyse these things that perhaps people who have never MC wouldn't even notice.

How many dpo are you?

ChickenT2b · 21/04/2023 12:47

Thanks… I did another FRER 🤦🏻‍♀️ definitely slightly lighter than weds which is a full 48 hours difference.
@TheBirdintheCave i guess I could ask about blood test. It’s all very nerve wracking. I just want to see that progress and can’t help but fear the worst.

It's very hard to compare different tests. I'd say stick to one brand and test again on Sunday (to give it 48hrs). The bottom CB one looks invalid though, kind of looks like a bit of dye run.

Please don't test every day either, you'll drive yourself crazy and you usually won't see a difference in 24 hours.

TheBirdintheCave · 21/04/2023 08:58

@ChickenT2b Hmm I think it would be hard to compare lines from two different brands. Also, lines get darker as they dry and the bottom test hasn't finished drying yet by the looks of things. Could you get a HCG blood test booked in? That's the best way to check that your numbers are doubling correctly.

Tentative congratulations :)

ChickenT2b · 21/04/2023 08:47

Hi all,

I haven’t posted for ages because it wasn’t helping me. We were due to start IVF next month. But then this happened on Weds. I have tested yesterday and this morning too and it seems to be getting lighter 😭

What do you think? Is it because I switched to clear blue? Should I try again with FRER?

top is Weds, bottom this morning.

@Ella31 I doubt the proceive is doing it, it's great for building you back up after a loss. Midwife recommended I go on the conception one after my first mc and I took it conceiving my first and all through that pregnancy.

It could be linked to stress also, the worry do not knowing what's going on can be delaying it? X

TheBirdintheCave · 20/04/2023 21:25

@Ella31 No it was just a random blip once back in 2017 before we were even trying for a baby. Thankfully it hasn't happened since and I never figured out a reason for it.

Ella31 · 20/04/2023 21:15

Weird question as well. I'm using proceive, could that be delaying my cycle.

Ella31 · 20/04/2023 19:48

TheBirdintheCave · 20/04/2023 15:14

@Ella31 Oh that's unhelpful :( Sorry she fobbed you off. I had an anovulatory cycle once which was 60 days long (essentially I skipped a cycle) so perhaps that's what's going on?

Thanks a million for your reply. Was that after a loss @TheBirdintheCave do you mind me asking. Its so confusing isn't it? I'm even animated at my own emotions at the minute. I'm less upset about getting pregnant again and more wanting my body to regulate again so I feel somewhat normal.

Mannymoomin · 20/04/2023 19:10

Hi everyone, I took myself off this board for a couple of months as ttc was taking over my headspace and it was wearing me down.

after the mc Oct last year and CP in January I needed the timeout. We’ve been using condoms the last couple of months and just totally enjoyed ourselves without thinking about conceiving which is just what I needed.

We didn’t even think about trying again this month but the last couple of evenings just decided to lose the condom 😂 I’m cd13, have done no OPKs so don’t know if I’ve ovulated yet or not, but af should be due on the 2nd so it’s a wait and see approach for me this time around.

has anyone had any bfp since I’ve been gone? Really hope some have been lucky but I’ve not managed to catch up on the thread yet.

BudgetBuster · 20/04/2023 17:24

We have been trying for 10 months, with 2 miscarriages in that timeframe (so really only trying for 6 cycles, pregnant on 2 of those. However I've had a miscarriage about 7 years ago and a medical termination about 5 years ago also hence the appointment at the EPU. I'm not sure what to expect. @Dinosaur39

Dinosaur39 · 20/04/2023 17:16

@Ella31 sorry to hear the hospital aren’t being particularly helpful! I found the same thing!
They love to say ‘leave it a month and see how you get on’ but if you went a month ago they would probably have to check it now so I’m pretty sure they just make up these timescales. I would really push for a scan if I was you, 7 weeks can be completely normal but it’s better to get checked out for peace of mind which in itself can help with a period!

I’m in my first TTC month (miscarriage in February but wasn’t trying for that pregnancy) I don’t think I’m in for much of a shot as it was low level trying this month and only DTD once on peak ovulation day. Yet all I can think about is this TWW!
Any tips of not spending every waking minute counting down until you can test!?
Anyone else around 2/3 DPO?

@BudgetBuster sorry to hear about an early miscarriage for you.
Please be kind to yourself and let yourself heal ☺️
I haven’t been to an appointment at the EPU before but I hope it goes well for you and you get some answers that you need.
How long have you been trying for?

BudgetBuster · 20/04/2023 16:47

Hey everyone,
I have been MIA for a few weeks now getting my head sorted after another early miscarriage start of the month.

It feels strange being back here and considering OPKs and tracking again. My husband and I haven't really spoke about when we will try again. He did mention we will try one more time before going down the fertility clinic route but I was still in hospital feeling miserable at the time.

I do however have a consultation at the Early Miscarriage centre in my EPU next month so I think I might wait until after that to start trying again. Has anyone been to these appointments before?

TheBirdintheCave · 20/04/2023 15:14

@Ella31 Oh that's unhelpful :( Sorry she fobbed you off. I had an anovulatory cycle once which was 60 days long (essentially I skipped a cycle) so perhaps that's what's going on?

Ella31 · 20/04/2023 15:06

TheBirdintheCave · 18/04/2023 19:19

@Ella31 Maybe try and arrange a scan at the EPU? I agree that seven weeks doesn't sound right for AF return.

Met with Doctor and she doesn't seem concerned. She said if there's no sign in a month to come in again. I should add that I am getting flashy smileys, just no static.

DHB · 20/04/2023 12:02

Anyone with Boots OPKs, does this look right? I’m CD13 but absolutely zero, after increasing to 0.1s yesterday and the day before. The pink looks like it’s run and the control line isn’t very dark either?

I dipped into a cup of wee, rather than weeing on the stick to avoid going past the max line. Left it for 5 seconds instead of 3, just because it hasn’t been picking up a dark control line so I thought maybe it hadn’t got enough urine?

This was left for around 5 minutes when I took the photo.

@MrsJGrealish I’ve tested on day of period last two times with strong positive only for it to fade, so I wouldn’t beat yourself up about testing early 💛. Hopefully the break will give you time to decide on what you want going forward. I’m considering a break but then the stupid thoughts creep in like what if I miss my one good egg 🤦🏼‍♀️.
No I didn’t get an update about char, wow can’t believe she’s about to give birth! Has it really been that long!

MrsJGrealish · 19/04/2023 14:43

@Bubblesandballoons did you see the update char put on the thread? she's 38 weeks pregnant well maybe 39 now!!❤️

MrsJGrealish · 19/04/2023 13:15

@Bubblesandballoons it's a head melt for sure. It's literally my own fault for testing early. Also the annoying 'you fall pregnant after a chemical' is lies! Well not lies but still doesn't help them stick 🤯 Anyways I'm at the resigned stage of not ttc and giving my body a break while I try and come to terms with it all. DH is very much against private care but I've no doubt I could talk him round. Actually pretty glad of the break mentally and physically xx

Bubblesandballoons · 19/04/2023 12:55

@MrsJGrealish i’ve looked into a private fertility not type thing over here, but just not sure I can justify the cost of it all, and if it’s all fine then I’ll just be annoyed 😂.
I know how you feel, it sucks seeing that positive only for it to disappear a few days later and have no idea why. Also fed up of the at least you have your son or your getting pregnant so that’s a positive sign comments 🤯. I’m stuck between desperately wanting another one, to not ever wanting to see that line as I can’t bare to watch it fade again xx

MrsJGrealish · 19/04/2023 11:56

@Bubblesandballoons well that's a big no from me. That's so frustrating. I was very much considering paying privately to see what they say but just holding back atm. Not ivf because I'm pretty sure my body won't like hormones but just answers, I seem to conceive ok they just never bloody stick ☹️ maybe like a fertility MOT? If such a thing exists xx

Bubblesandballoons · 19/04/2023 08:35

@MrsJGrealish hey, how are you doing?
They finally came back as no issue, which is as I thought, and now my consultant has decided it would be best to send me to another consultant who specialises in recurrent miscarriage 🤦🏼‍♀️, despite saying she’d do a hycosy next, so yet again more waiting around and not actually getting anything done. Been over a year and I’ve only had blood tests and an ultrasound that’s it… so frustrating. I hope you are fairing better xx
