@Maxime34 I guessed I might be a few days ahead now due to early AF, which I’m a little sad about I loved that we were the same last month! But we are still within a similar time so can support each other anyway! Yeah I agree I still had a long enough luteal phase so I defo won’t dwell on that! You are so so so right, doesn’t matter how hard you try to do everything by the book, it’s total pot luck and god knows why it does and doesn’t happen. I’m so happy to hear you have been able to conceive, but so sorry they ended in MC, I’m praying it’s your month for a sticky bean 🤗it’s so typical because I always hear of people who fall without really trying and I do think that’s down to the stress we put on the body thinking about it so much, but how can you not?! There is such a small window to not be clued up! Oh of course I forgot about that knocking your system out, hmm maybe just stick to the LH tests then, if temping results aren’t mega accurate and it’s a faff I’d say don’t bother. But that’s easy for me to say when you do want to do everything you can to try and make this month THE month for a BFP. I’ve never temp tracked before, just used the LH strips from around day 8 till I get my surge. The last 3/4 months I have got my positive test on CD14 meaning I’d ovulate somewhere between CD15/16 so I’m really tempted to say I’m not gonna obsess over doing them this month, but I know that’s a massive lie and I’ll not be able to stop myself 🙃NO hahahah you’ve really made me laugh, you don’t understand the happiness I felt when I checked the Flo app and my ovulation is likely to fall on the weekend just before Valentine’s Day which is the weekend we decided to celebrate / do something for it. Talk about PERFECT timing ey! Romance well and truly dead, it’s all about TTC 🤓

NatGee · 04/02/2023 22:23

@MilkyAndFluffy hello! The recommendation is to dtd during the three days before ovulation, the day itself and the day after. That's what we've been doing but I have nothing to show for it 9 cycles in :D One cycle we dtd 7 days in a row haha and nothing. How long have you bben ttc?

@AlleycatMarie You are welcome :) AF arriving at least means you know either way earlier - I find the tww so difficult. Sometimes we have off cycles - I had one back in September and every month I half expect another weird one but so far it's all been normal. Have you been tracking for sometime?

oh you hang in there @Sierra26 ! There have been some cycles where I think I'm going to test anyway but I cant justify it as I never have symptoms. Do you get any at all? Maybe Id feel a bit more tempted if I felt something. By DPO 9/10 I have a clear idea of the trend, which at this stage has begun to stabilise or decline. Average temps are very individual so I don’t think there is a specific number to aim for so long as they remain elevated for you as an individual. There are exceptions but this is a rule of thumb. Do you take your temp at different times in the day?
About getting our OH on board, yeah that can be a difficult one. We are literally doing all the work! My DH also has had a bit of a wobble handling the pressure I put on him. After nine cycles I think he's beginning to feel it and once he couldn't go all the way which was VERY unusual. I think I need to stop sharing as much with him and just pretend like I am just extra frisky

Maxime34 · 04/02/2023 19:53

Hey @Sierra26 I know exactly what you mean it's such a tough one to navigate because on one hand you want to keep the pressure away but equally you want to be giving each month the best chance. Men really do have it so easy compared to everything we go through! I hope this is your month xx

Maxime34 · 04/02/2023 19:45

@MilkyAndFluffy glad it worked and we can tackle another month together! You're a few days ahead of me now, probably because af showed up a few days early. I don't think it matters too much to have cycles that change a tiny bit as long as your luteal phase is longer than 10/11 days which it definitely was as we were testing at the same time. Much rather it come early so you can start a new cycle than drag it out though! I know what you mean about feeling a bit more negative, it's so hard when you feel like you've done everything right isn't it. I honestly feel like it's really the luck of the draw no matter what you do. We've fallen pregnant on cycles where we dtd twice totally randomly without tracking before. Sadly ended in an early MC but goes to show that sometimes more isn't more so I think that sounds like a good plan for you guys and I think we will be doing similar for the same reasons! I'll definitely be doing the LH sticks but I find bbt testing a bit stressful and also because I take progesterone after ovulation it messes with the temp accuracy I think so a bit pointless. Do you temp? At least valentine's is around the corner right on time for peak ovulation day 🤣🤣 romance is well and truly dead at this point.

Sierra26 · 04/02/2023 19:13

Reading through everyone’s intros and updates but I can’t keep up 🙈 so just gonna say hi to the recent joiners and looking forward to seeing how everyone gets on this month!

I’ve tested early in prev cycles but going to try to hold off this month. It’s so hard! @NatGee how many days pre AF does your temp start to drop? Do you know how high it’s meant to stay if you’re pregnant? I’ve done a few months BBT but it’s quite spikey.

Im also interested in how everyone else plans when to DTD. In normal times we only really DTD around once a week, and at first DH wanted to just continue being spontaneous to keep everything stress free. I had to tell him if we don’t pay attention to when I’m fertile we could go a very long time with no BFP given narrow fertile window 😂 and we’re now starting cycle 4.

Going in to this cycle I think I need to tell him that ‘stress free and spontaneous’ for him = ‘high stress and frustrating’ for me as I’m the one educating myself on fertility and physiology, remembering not to move each morning until I’ve taken my temp, logging symptoms in my app, peeing on LH strips twice a day for a week, and if I know I’m peaking and we don’t get round to DTD it feels like a month of wasted time and I’m another month closer to another birthday. And in the meantime I don’t think he’s as much as googled “how to get pregnant” 🤣

Anyone else in a similar same boat?? It feels weird forcing a change in our normal behaviour but I know I have to…!

Ps our relationship is wonderful ❤️ this is just a new topic to navigate

AlleycatMarie · 04/02/2023 18:11

*got

AlleycatMarie · 04/02/2023 18:11

Thanks for starting this @NatGee . I was in the October thread, feeling quite positive then for AF 4 days early, which is really unusual for me. It meant my luteal phase was only 7 days, so no chance really. Hoping for a better month.

MilkyAndFluffy · 04/02/2023 16:38

Hoping I can join in please gals! I’ve read through the thread but too many for me to reply to everyone so I’ll just say sending baby dust to us all this month for some gorgeous November babies 😘

im CD8 today so slowllllly approaching my fertile window. Anyone got any ideas what method they are using for DTD in their fertile days this month? Tried sperm meets egg method last month but really didn’t work for my other half, and just caused him pressure and stress so gonna try a more relaxed approach this month and try to DTD on the most important days instead. Anyone like to share their opinion on which days are best to DTD eg day before ovulation / day of / after etc etc. not very likely I’ll get other half to be able to provide the goods 2 days in a row, so I need to figure out which combo is best!

MilkyAndFluffy · 04/02/2023 16:21

@Maxime34 ahhhh yes both tags worked, thanks so much lovely! 🤗glad your AF showed up right on time, the only positive to take from it isn’t it! Mine actually turned up 2 days early which means I only had a 26 day cycle, not sure if that’s bad thing but trying not to obsess over that too much 🙄

i have everything crossed it’s both our months this time; surely it is 🙏 I’m mixed emotions, full of hope but also have a twinge of negativity… how are you feeling?

so plan for this month…. After our little problem last month the day of ovulation with DTD, I’m undecided whether to actually start with the every other day method a little later in the cycle as I just don’t think poor other half can hack it that much bless him. I don’t wanna ‘waste’ the goods earlier and then risk it not happening at the prime time if you get me. So I started CD10 last month and did every other day but the day I think I ovulated was then the day he couldn’t do his thing, which may have been the most important day. So I’m tempted to maybe try CD 12, 14, 16 instead of 10, 12, 14, 15, 16 😳what do you think?? I really wanted to try the sperm meets egg method to cover all ground but i just don’t think that’s an option for us

Sorry for essay I need someone else’s thoughts on it 😂are you planning to do anything different this month? Also will you be O testing or temp tracking this month? I really have every inch of me crossed for us x x x x

NatGee · 04/02/2023 14:33

@Ncl31 wow that is so exciting, the most important purchase out of the way. Lets hope the sun shines for you in July so you can rock it in all its glory

@Dragonfly91 what a beautiful age! Ive heard of the terrible twos but I just find them so cute when they are that age. Inquisitive, adventurous, playful really keep you on your toes

@AussieMum888 isnt it just? Ive learnt SO much just from being on here and sharing experiences. If we get pregnant itll definitey be because of this community here, nothing to do with my egg or his sperm. With testing too early, that’s a good question. For me, I resent the money spent on the tests so I hold back. The other reason is finding out about a chemical. That would upset me quite a bit I think so I just don't do it. I BBT too so I usually see my period coming from a mile away ha. What brand tests do you usually use? Is there a certain DPO when you begin testing?

@Maxime34 Hello and welcome ! CD4 here so like you not much to say really. It’s a waiting game til our fertile window now. How long are your cycles normally? Do you do any tracking?

@SaltedChoco that's sensible and really what is recommended for any couple who is ttc but I am sure you know that. Oh crossing my fingers for you, do let us know how the appointment next week goes

OP posts:
SaltedChoco · 04/02/2023 10:32

Thanks so much @NatGee let's hope our one shot works! Well actually 2 shots, as I've got those clearblue tests that should show 4 days, so I'll be asking him around 2 times a day apart.

The gynaecologist appointment next week is private, which I know I'm lucky to be able to do (through DW's work policy).

@Ncl31 oh that's exciting 😍

Maxime34 · 03/02/2023 23:09

@MilkyAndFluffy I'm not sure if the above tag was right but hopefully this works! Welcome to the November thread. How are you feeling? xxx

Maxime34 · 03/02/2023 23:07

@milkyandfluffy here is the November thread lovely. I'm on CD5, AF showed up bang on time so at least I wasn't left in torture land for too long. Really hope it's our month! Are you going to try and do anything differently? xxx

AussieMum888 · 03/02/2023 20:52

@JJM13 thanks I'm going to take your advice! No early tests as you're right it just brings sadness when they're negative!

Welcome @Maxime34 !!

X

Maxime34 · 03/02/2023 20:42

Please can I join?? CD5 so not much to report yet but really hope this is our month!

JJM13 · 03/02/2023 20:41

@AussieMum888 my advice would be don’t bother with the early tests they only bring sadness all mine were negative and i was so fed up and yet here i am due AF tomorrow and BFP ! Best wishes and baby dust to you and all for the future 🥰

AussieMum888 · 03/02/2023 20:08

@JJM13 congrats to you!!!

@Sierra26 exact same story. it didn't stop me getting pregnant first time around, altho it did take 9 months so I was convinced it was the reason it took slightly longer. Let's keep in touch post scans etc and wishing you best of luck for this cycle :)

@NatGee thanks for starting this group, it's so helpful chatting to ladies in the exact same boat, and as you say statistically there should be some BFPs in this thread this month !!

I really struggle with the tWW and not testing too soon, does anyone have any tips on how to cope with it??

Baby dust to you all xx

Dragonfly91 · 03/02/2023 19:47

@JJM13 that's wonderful, congratulations!

@NatGee thank you, everything crossed for you too! He has just turned two, and he's a little tornado!

@Ncl31 how lovely! Good luck with the wedding as well x

Ncl31 · 03/02/2023 19:24

I got my dress!!! Eeeeek! It’s beautiful.
thanks ladies x

JJM13 · 03/02/2023 18:38

@NatGee thanks very much i really hope i am a lucky start to all of you sending lots of baby dust x

NatGee · 03/02/2023 18:23

@Sierra26 youre very right - the tww is definitely the worse time, but it's not really a two week wait anymore really is it for so many of us now we have these ultrasensitive tests at our disposal. sucks to play catch up, have all your friends had their babies yet?

@SaltedChoco hello, ah hope you find your tribe amongst us :) well you say the odds arent in your favour but if you've already had a child then chances are you'll be able to conceive again. I hope it doesn't take too long - all you need is one shot a month anyway! Are you coming up to your first cycle? Good luck with the gynae appointment - is that through the NHS?

@Dragonfly91 hello! crossing everything for you this time rounds its a sticky bean for you :) How old is your DS now?

@Superstorefan123 crossing everything cycle 10 is the one! I will be trying the fertilily - loads of ladies on MN saying they conceived the month they used it that it'd be foolish not to give it a go. Bit pricey at £32 but can be used for up to 6 cycles.

NatGee · 03/02/2023 18:13

@JJM13 oh my word, huge congratulations!!!! I am claiming that as our first bfp of the thread, let that baby dust rub off on all of us :D :D wishing you a very happy pregnancy

Superstorefan123 · 03/02/2023 15:54

@NatGee Clomid seems to be the go to for all doctors nowadays, ovulating naturally or not! Fingers crossed you won’t need any treatment as this will be your lucky month!

Dragonfly91 · 03/02/2023 12:31

Hey all, good luck! I'm CD2 after a mmc in December so fingers crossed for a sticky baby this time! Trying for baby number 2, DS was on the first try, sadly not been so fortunate second time around.

Baby dust to all! X
