I've also got Proceive sachets which were expensive but I'm going to give them a try. I've been put off by needing to mix them with 300ml juice though as that feels loads after breakfast!

NatGee · 06/02/2023 14:47

@TunnocksTCake @SaltedChoco I struggle to think how it can possibly hurt, so definitely go for it. I had bought one before but thought it was a gimmick and threw it away, feel sorry for not having given it a good.
And yes, I think the idea is to put it in place as soon as you can and quite high up too :)

@NatGee thank you! It took 10 cycles although we did have a break in the middle due to the added stress of trying to get married during covid lockdowns!

@TunnocksTCake sorry to hear about your mcs, that must have been so hard. Our TTC journey wasn’t difficult in comparison to others, but I put a lot of pressure on myself and would get my hopes up a lot, so I need to be more realistic this time round.

SaltedChoco · 06/02/2023 14:44

Never heard of a ferti-lily, I have ordered one! Worth a try and they're cheap enough.

TunnocksTCake · 06/02/2023 14:28

@NatGee Interesting, I was just reading about the feti-lily at the weekend and want to give it a go too! Think I might be too late to get one in time for this cycle but going to shop around. Cant hurt anyway can it?! Do you think you have to put it in literally the minute after sperm have been released? That was my only conern was it might make it all a bit clinical?!
@Aquarius93 It took us ages to conceive DD too, with 3 mc in the process. I was very reluctant to start ttc #2 but hoping history doesnt repeat itself and I hope the same for you, too!

NatGee · 06/02/2023 12:48

@LuckyC27 fingers crossed today is the day and that your cycles will fall right back into place.
I personally take high dose vitamin c, vitamin d (my levels were low), omega3, coq10 and athletic greens (has more folic acid than most prenatals). I have a sweet tooth which I don't think is great but at least I don't smoke and cut down on alcohol ages ago. This cycle I will be trying the fertilily - so many great reviews here on MN, with some saying they conceived as soon as they started using it so ill give it a good go and report back.
I lost a couple of stone back in July as I was going on holiday and not sure if that messed with my cycles so personally I think id advise against drastic changes while TTC. If youre concerned with your weight maybe just watch what you eat rather than go on a full on diet.

@Aquarius93 hello! hope you find support amongst us this cycle. how long did it take you to conceive dd #1? and yes, I hope it's more straightforward this time around!

@Fairylight102 oh no, i am so sorry to hear of your miscarriage :( Lets hope things are very different this time round Sending lots of hugs x

Fairylight102 · 06/02/2023 12:25

Hello can I join? I’m on CD13, TTC #1. This is cycle 3 for me (I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in December).

LuckyC27 · 06/02/2023 11:58

@NatGee hi 👋🏻 so according to Flo today is the day so hoping it’s all back to normal post mmc, my periods are back to normal so really hope I’m ovulating as I should be.

Other than the usual stuff like vitamins is anyone doing anything else to help? I feel like I could do with loosing a few pounds but have struggled with motivation since Christmas.

Aquarius93 · 06/02/2023 11:52

Can I join please?

TTC #2. We have a 1 year old daughter already. I found TTC last time really emotionally draining so I’m hoping having people in the same boat will help! Currently only CD4.

NatGee · 06/02/2023 11:10

@TunnocksTCake hello! oh youre nice and close to your fertile window. I think a few of us are a little behind you. how long are you cycles normally? Wishing you baby dust and hopefully yours will be the first of many BFPs on this thread xxx

OP posts:
TunnocksTCake · 06/02/2023 10:58

Hi, joining in if thats ok? Im on Cycle 4 now of TTC #2. On CD 9 so approaching fertile window now. Looking forward to seeing some BFPs on here this month!!

NatGee · 06/02/2023 10:10

@LuckyC27 hello and welcome, I am so sorry to hear of your mmc :( how heartbreaking but it looks like youre back on it and ready to give it another shot. Good youre in your fertile window, have you peaked yet? Wishing you lots of baby dust for this cycle

@Maxime34 yes I agree, we are definitely beginning to find dtd a chore. Also unsure if we're actually dtding enough - looking at my fertility friend log, we've only been getting five sessions a cycle since August, all during my fertile period, but still. I used the clearblue sticks for sometime but now I only rely on the cheapies - i find them a lot more reliable !

Hope everyone else is doing alright today? I am on CD6, so slowly approaching my fertile window

LuckyC27 · 06/02/2023 07:11

Good Morning! Was on the October thread but sadly didn’t happen last month. Had a mmc in early December and have had 2 periods since and currently in our fertile window so fingers crossed for this month and fingers crossed for everyone else trying 🤞🏻

Maxime34 · 06/02/2023 00:11

@MilkyAndFluffy sounds like our cycles are exactly the same I get peak LH around CD14 every month like clockwork but I think l start on the old strips tomorrow or CD9... It's all so glamorous. Dare I say it though I think I will just relax a bit more with it this month and try not to stress on when we dtd so much, it really does take any enjoyment away and actually makes you feel way worse when it's negative at the end of the month. Don't get me wrong I'll still make sure we hit the key days where possible but Im not going to over do it too much.... Famous last words!! We're also going away end of Feb so at least if I'm not pregnant I can have a few cocktails by the pool to make me feel better!

Superstorefan123 · 05/02/2023 21:27

@Betsy21 - also in terms of tests I’ve had (some NHS and some private), I’ve had standard blood tests (day 3 and day 21), a scan (mainly because of miscarriage bleeding but that is when they spotted cystic ovaries) and a HSG (as my pregnancy/miscarriage was ectopic was wanted to check tubes were OK - done privately at £459)

Superstorefan123 · 05/02/2023 21:23

@Betsy21 - I’ve never really got a clear answer :( blood tests are fine but ovaries are polycystic on a scan! So not really sure. I have found taking pregnacare has regulated my cycle :)

I booked a gynaecologist appointment at a Spire hospital - I booked it mainly for my symptoms (it wasn’t a fertility appointment) but was given Clomid prescription in the same appointment. So the money was £150 for the consultation with a gyny and £15 for the Clomid 3 month private prescription :)

Hope that helps!

Betsy21 · 05/02/2023 20:28

Best of luck to you @NatGee 😃

Betsy21 · 05/02/2023 20:27

Superstorefan123 · 05/02/2023 20:10

@Betsy21 I first saw a consultant in month 8 of trying :) I would have probably waited longer but I had some concerning symptoms (heavy bleeding after a miscarriage, irregular cycles etc) so wanted them checked. Consultant didn’t find anything too concerning beyond the obvious, but decided to move ahead with clomid !

It was private - NHS were useless and the consultation + clomid prescription only cost £165 so worth it’s wait in gold!

I'm sorry to hear this 😔 do you have any underlying health conditions? I have pcos and was told if blood test 3 of 3 came back inconclusive, they'd refer me to fertility clinic but not sure what they'd test for etc, so was thinking along the lines of private. Can I ask what was 'included' in your private fee as that seems really reasonable.

Had a chemical in January so I’m also out for October! Every time the period shows up I calculate a new due date (I know not accurate!) - 3rd November ❤️

This is month 10 of trying for me, and the first month I’m taking clomid after fertility consultation. Hoping for a miracle at this point!

Best of luck to you! Our due dates are the same 😀 can I ask how long you waited for a referral to fertility clinic please and if it was via nhs?

Betsy21 · 05/02/2023 19:48

Hi all! TTC #1 Cycle 2. Currently on CD10 and started tracking OPK's. Hope we all have a good month x

NatGee · 05/02/2023 17:03

@MilkyAndFluffy ohh that sounds like a good plan, one I might steal. Its important to have the good swimmers closer to ovulation for sure. Also, dont forget to get a couple of sessions in even when you have ovulated as you never know how long your egg is hanging around for. Let's hope this is indeed our month! Every time AF arrives i feel so deflated. Last time I had a real good cry in the shower and was in a stinky mood for two days... After 9 cycles i think TTC is beginning to get to me but I am so glad I can come here and vent with you ladies and get so much good advice :D

OP posts:
MilkyAndFluffy · 05/02/2023 00:54

@NatGee heyyy love, I have tried the recommended few days before / day of and after etc but it’s just too much for other half, he ends up not finishing on the days of ovulation if we have DTD a few days in a row before unfortunately. So I think this month I want to try and do it where he has a break so that closer to ovulation he is ready again (lol defo tmi) 😂but I just wanna pick the best days to give us the best chance. 7 days in a row omg!! I feel tired reading that 😳it sounds like you are giving yourselves the best shot each month, so I have everything crossed this is your month 🙏 this will be our 6th cycle TTC x

MilkyAndFluffy · 05/02/2023 00:47

@Sierra26 fully understand trying to get other half to understand how small the window is. We were the exact same and our usual DTD is about once a week, and that suits us both so well. But obviously the 5 or so days we are fertile, that’s not as ideal haha. I get it’s hard to get through to them because they aren’t going through it. Don’t you just wish we could be as chill as them sometimes? Let me know if you manage to get though to him and how if you do 😂
