Oh, just realised I used my other username. I'm already on this thread, won't say who as don't want them linked! XX

Beetr00t · 09/02/2023 22:39

Using the clearblue ovulation tests. On the day you get your solid smiley, is it worth DTD that day and the next day too? Or is there no point the day after? Thanks

NatGee · 09/02/2023 21:24

@SnookyPook Same, bought myself another pack of 50 the other day, quite disappointing i'm on the second lot but hoping I won't need too many. I did the CB sticks for a little while but I think the reader malfunctioned a couple of times so I stopped. It's quite expensive as well and the cheapies do the trick just fine. Fingers crossed for both of us, wishing you lots of baby dust xxx

SnookyPook · 09/02/2023 20:43

@NatGee thanks! I'm using OPKs - just internet cheapies but they seem to detect my peak accurately and are what I successfully used first time round so fingers crossed!

NatGee · 09/02/2023 14:56

@Superstorefan123 Jeeeeezus you guys have stamina! I think you broke all MN records to date ha
The most we've gone is seven days in a row back in August and nothing to show for it / At the minute its averaging five times, in the entire cycle, during fw

@Cinnamon03 hello! sorry to hear of your mc, really is devastating :( how long have you been ttcing? I am on my 10th cycle and I am fed up too, dtd never felt so onerous. I believe you're one of three now in their TWW so youll likely be the one of the first to test. Lots of baby dust, I hope thi sis your month xx

@SnookyPook hi there ! youre right, a fair number of us on the other side of 35 so hopefully youll feel right at home :) fingers crossed its lucky number 4 for you again! are you using anything to track or letting nature run its course?

@LotzW so impressed by this amount of BD’ing 😂 first cycle after miscarriage when TTC we went a bit mental and had sex 21 days in a row! Have calmed down significantly since then and aiming for every other day, though might try and ramp it up now I’ve read what others are doing!

Cinnamon03 · 09/02/2023 14:31

Hello! Jumping on here for some company during the TWW. TTC #2 since last summer with a MC over Christmas at 7 weeks. Got my first period back after this towards the end of Jan and decided to start trying again. I ovulated two days ago and already this TWW feels like the longest ever!! Honestly I’m fed up with TTC now so really hope we’re successful soon.

Technically according to my LMP I’d be due 31st October but I ovulated a little later so Nov would be more likely I think.

how are you all doing?

SnookyPook · 09/02/2023 13:33

Hi All! May I join? I'm 37 and hoping for n2. DS just turned 2. Currently 4dpo of cycle 3 since my periods finally returned after pregnancy/breastfeeding (!) Last pregnancy happened on cycle 4 so I'm hoping it'll be this time or next but aware that increased age may play a part in things too! Right in the worst bit of the tww at the mo and feeling impatient!

Seems there are a few of us slightly older mums on this thread! Baby dust to everyone!

LotzW · 09/02/2023 13:03

@NatGee oh gosh I have no idea about any of these things 😳
Yep, day 13 today. We baby danced 🤣 Mon, Tues and yesterday. Will do every day until Sun and then chill a bit more 🤷🏼‍♀️

NatGee · 09/02/2023 12:59

@LotzW baby dance :) Do you know if its your luteal or folicular phase that are short? But yes, I think your peak is still to come and it must be right round the corner - you're CD13 now right?

OP posts:
LotzW · 09/02/2023 10:53

@NatGee BDing? This mornings ovulation test was super low again so hoping it's still to come. My cycle can be quite short so can't be much longer I hope 🤦🏼‍♀️

NatGee · 09/02/2023 10:45

@LotzW I get ewcm for a good five to six days before I actually ovulate, if youre the same then your peak is still to come. but everyone is different! there was one month when I didn't see any at all. As long as your BDing thats what counts :)

@Mummyme87 absolutely, it happened to me last month. my peak was a full two days before I actually ovulated by which time my strips were showing low LH. I nearly got into a panic thinking I was going to ovulate.

@Superstorefan123 optibac as in the probiotic? Don't really hear of anyone taking them for fertility but its a very good shout - I take one too (not optibac) but eat too many sweets which I don't think helps ha

@AL1424 hello there! sorry to hear of your diagnostic. What tests have you been sent to, the usual day 3 and day 21 ones? Fingers crossed they will come back normal and the the cysts won't have affected your hormones

CD9 for me ladies, and not begun dtd yet - we have to rectify that pronto! but will start on the lh strips today as I have ovulated on CD13 in the past. Hope you are all doing well :)

@mummytoemilia hi there, sounds like youre so close fingers crossed this is your month indeed!

@Chellooo I thought the cb sticks were so handy when I first began tracking. Good luck with the BDing, the only time in the month when we're not waiting around ha

mummytoemilia · 09/02/2023 09:41

Hi ladies! Can I join please? Currently on cycle day 2. Ready to try again this month for a november baby 🤞🏼
I didn't implant last cycle & the cycle before was a chemical so praying this is our month ❤️

Chellooo · 09/02/2023 08:35

Got my flashing smiley this morning, but hubby's away for the night... trying to get my head round these clearblue things and hoping we won't miss our chance

Superstorefan123 · 08/02/2023 08:05

@LotzW in the past I’ve had up to 11 days of EWCM - might just be the start and tests will follow in a few days (I’ve also convinced myself many months I ‘feel’ like I’m ovulating but always end up being wrong 😂)

Mummyme87 · 08/02/2023 07:20

@LotzW i get Ewcm for about 5 days prior to ovulation. But also the LH tests detect the surge leading up to ovulation, could be negative by the time you actually ovulate

I’m counting down the days to AF so I can start the next cycle!

LotzW · 08/02/2023 07:11

Morning.
How is everyone?
I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating - ewcm and just feels like I am, but test this morning shows 0.08 which suggests not. I'm trying to convince myself that those tests are pants 🤣

AL1424 · 07/02/2023 09:06

@Superstorefan123 its so good - that and schitts creek!

Oh amazing, my cycle has been all over the place - one cycle was 55 days! But the last few have been 39,40 and 34 so hoping it’s beginning to regulate 🤞🏼 I’m currently taking folic acid, vit D, vit b12 & b6 - I’ll take a look at pregnacare next as that sounds promising!! I got my static smiley this morning on CB so pleased / relieved I am actually ovulating as I was worrying! X

Superstorefan123 · 07/02/2023 08:46

@AL1424 definitely the show! It got me through many boring hours of lockdown!

Ive been taking pregnacare preconception, omega 3 fish oil and optibac. Pregnacare has done wonders for regulating my cycle - I was having cycles between 25-45 days but now they are between 29-31 so super regular. Optibac was recommended by my consultant as apparently it makes a nice environment for sperm

AL1424 · 07/02/2023 07:20

@Superstorefan123 thank you! Also love your username (assuming it’s the show superstore and not just a shop haha) 😂 it’s so confusing isn’t it!! I had a awful doctor who was so unhelpful and sent me for the wrong tests and I had to switch eventually. I’ve got two more hormone blood tests to take prior to and on my next period but I’m hoping that doesn’t arrive 🤣

have you taken any vitamins etc? I’ve just bought b6 as it’s good for regulating hormonal activity apparently x

Superstorefan123 · 07/02/2023 07:13

@AL1424 cystic ovaries for me too! Such a confusing diagnosis as half of the doctors I’ve seen have said it’s not a problem (as not full PCOS!!) and the other half say it is!

Best of luck with proper TTC!

Mummyme87 · 07/02/2023 06:56

@Fallulah my GP said she can refer to NHS fertility clinic, she said they may be able to help a bit, I’m 36, overweight and have two kids already, but the waits are long and I think they will tel me to lose weight before anything else. So we are going to be on private. I’ve had a scan done already and some bloods, so will collate all those results, hoping GP surgery will print them out and take them to private clinic so maybe won’t need everything repeated

AL1424 · 07/02/2023 06:51

Hi all hope okay to join this thread? I’m 31, TTC 1, cycle #1 - haven’t really been “not trying” since coming off the pill in March last year, however have just been diagnosed with cystic ovaries (not the syndrome just to make me even more confused!). Using CB OPK’s this cycle and tracking it a lot more closely - fingers crossed this is the month.

How is everyone getting on? I am becoming totally obsessed with anything and everything TTC!!! x

AlleycatMarie · 06/02/2023 23:29

@NatGee I’m on cycle 25 (ish, lost count now) of ttc but been using opk for about the last 12 cycles now. However, I have been using the cheapies and only used the clear blue advanced with smilies for first time last cycle. So, I’m not sure how accurate the cheapies have been with me and if I usually have such a short luteal phase.

How are you finding the wait to your fertile window? I’m CD 8 and just want to get on with it!
