Hey all!! Jumping on to get through the dreaded waiting window.

Im 8DPO today, cd 24 (I have 30 day cycles usually).

I did 3 easy at home tests and all had 2 very squinty lines come up. FRER was negative.

posting pic for others opinions (I won’t be offended either way) BUT I have read this brand can have an issue with false positives

@Fairylight102 trying to think back to my last pregnancy which was only oct-dec so you would think I would remember! But I’m 5 dpo and have been so exhausted and cranky today and my nipples are super sensitive which was a major symptom previously so been Googling. Last month a few days before AF I convinced myself I was having early symptoms but it obviously was the lead up to AF so don’t want to get hopes up again.

SaltedChoco · 11/02/2023 14:36

Thanks @SnookyPook yes the donor is on standby, so to speak! Hoping I get the static this weekend. Annoyingly it's half term though as will really need to be sneaky with DC (13!) at home. Good luck to you too!

Am going to practise with the Ferti-lily today!

Mushroo · 11/02/2023 08:56

Checking in off the back of the October thread.
cycle number 2 for me.

Resolutions this month:

  • DTD more often
  • Dont obsessively early test
Mummyme87 · 11/02/2023 06:17

Yes orgasm afterwards to help the spermicide get further up I suspect.

SaltedChoco · 10/02/2023 22:29

Yes I was wondering about the orgasm being before or after, too!

Superstorefan123 · 10/02/2023 19:49

@NatGee I wonder if there is something about when you orgasm? I think orgasm after the man has (grim but… to scoop the sperm up with contractions?)

NatGee · 10/02/2023 19:15

@madeofcodes there might be some truth in that, hopefully it does work for the majorty but hasn't for me I'm afraid. I nearly always orgasm and here I am nine cycles on....

Has anyone every experienced/heard of early pregnancy symptoms starting really soon after ovulation?

I’m 4DPO and have had some mild cramps, nausea, weird taste in my mouth, and generally feeling fatigued/paranoid/hormonal - all of which I had during my previous pregnancy (which sadly ended with a miscarriage at 6 weeks in December).

Logically I know this is unlikely to be pregnancy related because implantation is meant to be more like 6-12DPO, but the similarity in how I feel is uncanny… which then makes me feel like I must be imagining things because I so want to be pregnant again after losing my first pregnancy.

Right decided this is a no boundaries space so going to ask a question…

What do you guys do after sex? I normally try and lay down, cushions under for 15 mins but it clearly isn’t working as it’s been 10 months!!

I’ve brought a ferti-Lily but really struggling with it - any tips? Or other things you can do to increase chances (I’ve heard a orgasm?)

2 of my friends who were trying for a while said that the cycle they fell pregnant on (after some time trying) happened to be the one where they had orgasms. It could be a coincidence, who knows.

LotzW · 10/02/2023 17:49

@Superstorefan123 @SnookyPook
Can't say I'm doing any of the lying upside down or pillows, but I went to the bathroom soon after yesterday and noticed lots fall out and definitely had a panic. Especially as it's peak timing! So maybe I'll lie still a little longer in future. TMI 😳😬

SnookyPook · 10/02/2023 11:50

@Superstorefan123 I don't do anything special tbh! I don't jump straight up to the toilet - give it a few mins, but other than that 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have heard that its a bit of a myth that lying upside down etc helps... Who knows?

NervousNoo · 10/02/2023 10:11

I expected my peak LH yesterday morning as it's usually like clockwork but I still haven't hit it yet, tested again last night and just now. I'm not worrying as know peak can change for lots of reasons it's just odd. This is the first time since TTC that I've been eager for the TWW to start and now I just feel in limbo 😂Have DTD 4 times this week so far but expected fertile window will be moving now so I'm trying just to look at it as being able to fit in a couple more chances.
Have definitely felt like the pressure is off more this month since we've been told it likely won't happen 'naturally'. Gutting but also something we can hopefully work with once test results confirm docs suspicions.

AL1424 · 10/02/2023 09:49

Thanks @NatGee FX'd!

I have progesterone 7 days before AF (Great fun trying to predict that with irregular periods!) and Oestradiol on day 2 - I suspect it is to check I am ovulating which I am pretty sure I did a few days ago according to the CB tests - DTD every night of the peak/static smiley but wasn't successful every time - it's becoming a chore and the pressure is putting him off, and the stress/overwhelming emotional rollercoaster TTC has had on me this week I am exhausted! Mentally and physically 😅

My GP has referred me to a specialist re; cysts so I am glad she is taking it seriously, however my DP has to give a SA but his GP surgery is rubbish so it might take a while!

How is everyone getting on? I'm in the TWW now and trying to think of ways to distract myself from the constant over thinking spiral 🙃 Sending baby dust and hopeful BFP's to you all xxxx

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 10/02/2023 09:40

Hi Ladies! Moving over from the October thread as AF showed up today so onto cycle 3 after my MMC in Nov"22 . Fingers crossed for a November baby!

LotzW · 10/02/2023 08:09

@Mummyme87
Thank you 😊
The laid back approach ttc to my daughter was much easier. No need to understand opk tests or all these blinking acronyms 🤣

SnookyPook · 10/02/2023 07:55

@SaltedChoco that must be really tough! It's a whole other thing to contend with isn't it! Glad you've got your flashing smileys. Fingers crossed for the solid smiley asap. Is your donor ready and willing to appear immediately as needed? Must be stressful having to coordinate that too. Best of luck!

SaltedChoco · 10/02/2023 07:46

Jeez this ttc business is just mentally exhausting, it’s all I can think about and my racing brain won’t let me sleep at night.

I got a Flashing Smiley today on the CB advanced tests! I know you can have flashing for up to a week though but I’m just so relieved that something is happening in there. Was so worried I’m too old/fat/pcos to ovulate. I’m on CD12. I’m not going to do an AI with the donor though until I get a solid smiley as it’s so far for him to come we’ve agreed he will only come the once this month.

Jealous of all of you who can DTD. Wish so much I could get pregnant by sleeping with DW 😕

Mummyme87 · 10/02/2023 07:14

@LotzW no keep going. You’ve had your positive Ov test, you hopefully will ovulate in the next 12-48hours, the. The egg hangs around for another 12-24hrs.

LotzW · 10/02/2023 06:55

Morning ☀️
OPK looks positive to me. App says high 👍🏼 What does this mean in terms of BDing? We dtd for the last 3 days. We'll keep going just because it's the weekend and that's what we do 🤣 but are we less likely now it's actually been positive? Am I right in thinking it's too late after? Clueless!

MilkyAndFluffy · 10/02/2023 01:14

Just catching up on this thread after a busy few days at work and my god you gals put me and other half’s DTD attempt to shame!!! 😂I seriously need to think of a way to get things abit more regular during the fertile period but we’ve always been once or twice a week kinda couple and OH doesn’t seem to manage anymore. Reallllly worried that’s gonna be our barrier to get the BFP we want 😪

MilkyAndFluffy · 10/02/2023 00:38

@Maxime34 how are your strip tests going? We totally do have the exact same cycles getting our surges / positive tests on day 14 - that’s tomorrow for me argh! We DTD yesterday so hoping to again tomorrow and then Saturday or Sunday too to try and cover all basis. I’m trying to do what you said and not stress about it soo much this month, we’ve covered some of the fertile window and I think other cycles I’ve tried to put too much pressure on doing it as much as possible which can have the reverse affect

so easy for us to say oh yes we will be chill, it’s easier said than done 🙄can I be nosey and ask if you ever spot any egg white / discharge around your ovulation time? Or does that get affected by the meds you are on?

sounds like you have a good plan for this month, let me know how you get on! My patience is wearing thin already! So jealous you are off away, where are you going?! Well it’s a win win situation this month, sipping cocktails is a good distraction - but I’m still praying for a BFP for you 😍x

NatGee · 09/02/2023 23:14

@Superstorefan123 haha glad i am not the only one but cant help feeling sad looking back at when we were younger. I wonder if there's something in that when youre older, you naturally have less sex so less chances of falling. I heard the "dead sperm" thing too, that it goes stale if it builds up. Its good to keep it flowing so that newer, fresher swimmers get a chance.
We will start this weekend, when I am CD11 and will follow the every other day approach too

@Beetr00t Since the ovulation tests dont tell you when you have ovulated, I'd continue dtd for a couple of days after at least. Last cycle I ovulated a good two days after my peak which was unusual. Also the egg can hang around for some time, up to a day.

Superstorefan123 · 09/02/2023 22:48

@NatGee trust me, not managing that now! 10 months in and struggling to find the energy!

I am going to try following every other day advice all month this month - I worry ‘saving’ it up for the fertile window could actually be doing some harm (build up of dead sperm maybe?). When I spoke to the GP she said twice a week is probably enough but to try all month!
