I'm already out of the October 2023 window so if anyone is in the same boat, join along

Not strictly relevant to this thread but can anyone help?

I joined off the back off the October thread as AF appeared to be arriving on Friday as I had lots of spotting.

AF was due today (based on my usual cycle length and when I ovulated) and nothing! My BBT is still really high but I’ve tested and all BFN.

I have a cold, can that delay AF? I wish it was more straightforward!

@Floralsandsmiles keep us posted lovely 🙏xxxx

@Floralsandsmiles im honestly not sure, the first month I started taking pregnacare conception vitamins I read so many ladies on here saying they heard they can mess with your cycle, but from my in depth google search I didn’t really find anything to back those comments up, I did stop taking them and started taking folic acid only just because I was really overthinking and then the next month my cycles seemed to regulate. But I do think that was a coincidence to be honest! I’d keep going with your ovulation tests and fingers crossed you get your surge as normal. So sorry I can’t be more help! But I do feel your pain hun. It might be worth doing one just so you are 100% with it being a super super light period. It may have just been a nice light period for you; but it gets us so worried doesn’t it xxx

@MilkyAndFluffy thank you! You have been more than helpful! Quiets my mind that supplements aren't bad and should stop...Will just play it by ear and hope that my surge comes as it should! Thank you! Xxxx

@Floralsandsmiles i totally get what you mean when you are usually so regular, as soon as something slips up it’s so obvious to you and then overthink something is wrong. Can I be nosey and ask if anything has been different in the last few weeks e.g. have you changed what sort of tablets/vitamins you take or dramatically changed weight etc? I know those can have a big impact on changing your cycle so it’s worth an ask! Hmm - havent ever heard of those symptoms right after a period, maybe one of the other girls in this thread have. But again, has there been any changes to your diet or anything? I know if I’ve had an indulgent weekend of treats / extra bread or takeaways my stomach pays the price. That’s the only thing I could think of. It’s sooo frustrating. Did you do a pregnancy test last month just to rule that out? Xx

Thanks so much for your reply again @MilkyAndFluffyMilkyAndFluffy !
Yes! I started taking all my supplements this month!
So now I'm taking folic acid, coq10, DHA, magnesium, zinc and calcium 😊 do you think any of those have contributed?
No changes to diet, but I don't think I've drunk as much water as I should be, which sometimes doesn't help. I didn't do a pregnancy test last month no, but being on time with light period I assumed that wasn't the case. Maybe worth doing a quick one in the morning to rule out.. xxx

@Floralsandsmiles hey lovely, it’s a hard one when it’s different for your ‘normal’, but to try and ease your mind ever since coming off the pill I’ve had super light periods all 4 days long and I was concerned at first but based on the ovulation strip tests from prior months I’ve always ovulated around day 15. Keep on with the tests and let us know how you get on x

Thank you @MilkyAndFluffy that's reassuring. I will continue to track everyday to ensure I don't miss the window. Aside from the light period, is the constipation and trapped wind like pain normal? I mean directly after a period? Honestly so weird for me. I'm a regular girl, so its not normal for me.. xxx

@Tophy124 sending you love hun, I can’t imagine getting a positive and questioning it and then getting negatives. You aren’t out until AF arrives, I have everything crossed for you. 9dpo sounds early even for a FRER so I’ll keep hope for you but I do think the other tests were indents or flood lines, just because the FRER is more sensitive out of the two x

MilkyAndFluffy · 12/02/2023 20:16

@Maxime34 sooo glad to hear yous are having much more fun with it this month - hopefully that means it’ll be your month as it’s been less pressure! It’s annoying you don’t know if you’ve ovulated or not, but I do think it’s a good thing you’ve not been as obsessive over doing them, sometimes it works in your favour eeek! I’ve been similar, ran out of strip tests so didn’t buy anymore so I’ve not tracked the surge this month, I’ve felt much more chill and DTD has been much more natural and we’ve had a better time, we’ve only DTD 3 times during my guessed-fertile period but it only takes one time doesn’t it so I’m hoping it’s enough. Other half has felt much less stressed with me not knowing the exact day I got the surge, I’ve not been like ‘we need to do it today’ and I think that’s helped him. I just hope we’ve covered the day we needed and i feel a little out of control not knowing when my surge was/is….. yet again sounds like we’ve ended up in the exact same boat!! Haha 😚

let us know if you get your surge in the next few days, what CD are you on? Are you 14 today? Im CD16 today and just gonna guess I ovulated yesterday. I’ve just ordered some more FRER tests at the ready, nothing like being keen is there? Now the dreaded TWW…. Hellllllppppp! When do you go away?? X

Floralsandsmiles · 12/02/2023 19:43

Hi all! Please can I join? I'm CD6 and I'm supposed to ovulate on CD14. I am now tracking via ovulation tests and BBT. However I feel like I didn't have a proper period this month and was mainly spotting over the 5 days. Normally I have 1 (sometimes 2) very heavy days. So this is weird! Also my stomach is so painful like I have constipation and trapped wind.
I'm worried this was not a normal cycle for me and it will effect my ovulation day on CD14? What do you all think? Xx

Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 19:33

@NatGee I think it’s a dye run as apparently if you pee on these tests it’s possible to ‘flood them’ and so they recommend for these peeing in a cup and then dipping. When I did that I got a stark white! So confusing.

NatGee · 12/02/2023 19:13

@Tophy124 so weird, i swear i can see something on the very bottom one, or is that what people call indents? Sorry i cant help much more. In the 10 cycles ive been ttc ive only done about 3 tests (2 frers and one cheapie) so i havent first hand experience of indents

Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 15:58

Here’s all the tests I was talking about. The blue is an LH strip test so ignore that it was just for comparison.

The bottom 2 are from this morning. First one was dipped in a cup and second was urine stream. All the ones with lines above were yesterday and also all urine stream so I wonder if I ‘flooded’ the tests? The cup method has led to stark whites so I’m confused!! Potentially just dye run off from urine stream or potentially just a cp I’ve caught super early!!

Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 15:56

@Maxime34 have you tried the clear blue ovulation tests? I found they took a lot of the guesswork out for me and I plan on getting more to do next month alongside the strips

Maxime34 · 12/02/2023 13:48

@NervousNoo the same thing is happening to me this month. I'm CD14 and usually would have peak by now but still really low tests. My peak does come out of nowhere though so now I'm worrying that I've missed it but I'll keep testing as it might just be a day behind as it fluctuates between 13-15 usually. Hopefully it'll be soon!!

@MilkyAndFluffy how are you getting on? We've been having a lot more fun with things this month which has been a nice change. I haven't been as hot on the LH strips as usual which I'm now worrying that I've missed my serge which isn't ideal as I do need to know when I've ovulated for my meds.... Hoping it will be later today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 13:39

I’m 9dpo today (early I know but yesterday was 8DPO when I was getting the positives and I had 5 in a row where a line came up on the easy at home strips. Negative on FRER.)

Held a wee for 4 hours and just did another and stark white again!! I did read online that some ladies think their HCG tests were actually ovulation tests mislabeled but to me that wouldn’t explain why I had lots with a line and now stark white. I will post a pic of todays test in a moment!!

clearly I need to learn to wait!! We only DTD once this month as DH was unwell and we missed both days I had a smiley on the clear blue ovulation kit, so I don’t know why I got my hopes up 😭

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 12/02/2023 10:07

@Tophy124 sorry I just scrolled up and saw your test. Looks like a positive to me and also the line is pink? Xx

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 12/02/2023 10:05

@Tophy124 I ended up on this thread by accident but saw your comment and just wanted to say I was using them when TTC, every month I didn't TTC they were stark negative. I trust them more than any other brand, and I've been through more than one batch as well. I think any brand will have negative reviews as well.
Do you have pictures of your tests? Did you have a long hold before peeing this morning? Sorry for so many questions! I'd be more inclined to think it was a CP if tests were positive 😔

Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 09:12

Tested again this morning and all stark white, so think it was a dud test or something odd going on with me that’s now passed. On to next month for me!! Due AF soon.

Its nice to see familiar names here but also sad! I hope we all get our baby dust soon xx

NatGee · 11/02/2023 21:08

@Tophy124 oh! I had no idea, apologies for the premature celebrations. Theres still some hope that these arent faulty. Wait a bit longer and hopefully youll have more certainty xxxx

Tophy124 · 11/02/2023 20:31

@NatGee So I’ve been googling and apparently these ‘easy@home’ tests are really prone to false positives!! So many results come up on google. So awful!! I’m going to wait a week if I can and test again as due AF next Friday. I’ve had a false positive on a clear blue a few months ago too, just cruel!

Tophy124 · 11/02/2023 20:29

@Mummyme87 I think I’m going to stop using these as all day I’ve been getting lines come up and it really raised my hopes! I got a negative on a different cheap one and a negative on FRER.

Mummyme87 · 11/02/2023 20:15

Hey @Tophy124 I can definitely see the line although if the FRER is negative I wouldn’t be overly confident as that is 6.5miu versus 10miu on the easy@home. I had a similar line last summer on the easy@home that came to nothing. However, don’t rule out that it could be something. I have everything crossed lovely 🤞🏻

NatGee · 11/02/2023 20:05

@Tophy124 That is one very clear line, wow congratulations! when would your due date be? Well done :)
