Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@Mushroo Congratulations!! 😍

GingerJanee · 23/04/2023 10:36

@Mushroo Yes I definitely will let you know, hoping my midwife letter comes in the post by the time I’m home Thursday!

We had Ryanair too so I feel your pain but it was a good relatively good flight! I swole so much after the flight with fluid which would be normal for me but the bloat on top of it is a different league I feel like I’m showing already but I’m sure it’s only bloat!

Mushroo · 23/04/2023 10:29

@GingerJanee aw I hope the scan all goes well. Let me know how you get on.

Good tip re the seats, it’s Ryanair which is awful at the best of times!

GingerJanee · 23/04/2023 10:26

@Mushroo Thats exactly how I feel worried with no symptoms and then happy I have some only to complain they’re too severe lol never happy!

I’ve a scan booked for next weekend at just over 8 weeks so hoping that settles me a little! Also recommend booking an aisle seat or emergency exit on the plane because I was up and down like a yo-yo for the bathroom thankfully we were on the emergency exit seats so I didn’t have to wake the lady next to me lol

@Mushroo Currently on honeymoon & by my dates 6w4d. I’ve had very mild symptoms besides extreme tiredness, until today. The small bit of nausea I’ve had which was very manageable is now in full flow 😂

Inhaling plain crackers and drinking litres of water and it’s only 11am, naively hoping this is a 1 day thing because I can’t even imagine flying home feeling this awful!

Hope you’re keeping well 😁has the shock wore off yet?

Amazing, what a honeymoon! (Aside from the food issues 😂). At least symptoms show everything is going as it should - everytime I feel slightly sick I get excited, will be regretting that in a couple weeks of weeks I’m sure!

The surprise has just about worn off, now in the ‘terrified something will go wrong’ phase but keeping as positive as possible. Also on holiday next week which should keep me nice and busy.

I'm 6DPO (I think but didn't track). With DD I felt symptoms by this point (spitting, needing to wee etc) now not so much. Might be reading too much into it as I now have a toddler and no time to symptom spot but Gaagh

Mummyme87 · 23/04/2023 08:35

CD8 and going to start OPK testing today. Usually ovulate CD13 although last cycle was a little later, and not sure if the CP will interfere

xTinkerbell · 23/04/2023 08:25

@Mushroo congratulations!

I have given up on OPK’s. I keep missing my surge. I have been temping and think I ovulate CD 12ish. However, I have noticed that I get ewcm in the few days before ovulation and by ovulation it’s gone.

My cycles are short and tracking has shown my luteal phase is about 10 days which I expected. Took 500mg vit c on top of folic acid and vit d this month (not trying yet but will be soon so trying to get all this sorted). Today is 11dpo (assuming AF stays away) but my temp is down so I imagine AF will appear (though i’m really hoping for tomorrow).

I do have B complex and pregnacare pre conception which i’ve heard can extend cycles but too anxious to take either.

xTinkerbell · 23/04/2023 08:18

@Mummyme87 hopefully you’re right and you get your positive soon!

Mushroo · 23/04/2023 07:19

@GingerJanee thank you so much 🥰. How are you getting on?

GingerJanee · 22/04/2023 22:59

@Mushroo That is a definite line! Congratulations 🥳 I remember you from previous threads. So happy you got your BFP 🥰

They definitely work but I’m sure many of us have been using them for months on end with little success, like myself, 18months in used OPKs every month…

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound insensitive. Totally agree the TTC journey sometimes isn't straightforward as track and get pregnant. Baby dust to us all 💕

Oh definitely! They are not a golden bullet. I just meant they worked well for me to pin point ovulation after trying to guess for the last four months. Sorry if it came across as insensitive x

Thank you @Mummyme87!

This month was my first using OPKs so they definitely work!

I agree - used CB OPK with DD and got my BFP cycle 1

Mushroo · 21/04/2023 10:53

Thank you @Mummyme87!

Mummyme87 · 21/04/2023 10:29

Congratulations @Mushroo lovely line.

cd6 for me, ordered OPKs and will
start testing on Sunday!

Mushroo · 21/04/2023 09:35

@TrudyProud thank you! Going to get a test that wasn’t about £2 on amazon.

Really hoping if everything goes well for a December baby rather than New Year’s Day or 2 Jan which would be the worst birthday 😂

I have PCOS and really wasn’t expecting it to happen, I’d buckled in for the long haul so sprinkling baby dust for all!

TrudyProud · 21/04/2023 09:18

Congratulations @Mushroo ! That doesn't look faint to me. On MN people post lines I honestly can't see but yours I definitely do!

Aaaw a NYE bambino (almost) So excited for you .

🤞🏾 this is the start of many BFP on this thread

Mushroo · 21/04/2023 09:04

Tentative positive for me at 13dpo this morning! I tested last night as DH wanted to go to the pub and got the worlds faintest line 😂.

Hasn’t sunk in yet at all / I don’t really believe it. Think I would be due around 30 December

@Mangotango39 definitely getting darker, would keep a close eye as your positive is coming. Last cycle I had a positive but it didn’t peak for another 36yrs, kept getting darker!
your luteal phase length should stay the same, so once you pin point your peak opk and can assume ovulation the next day you can work out when AF will be due.

Mangotango39 · 19/04/2023 06:22

Mummyme87 · 19/04/2023 06:08

@Mangotango39 keep testing. A lot of women including myself get Ewcm in the lead up to ovulation. I have about 5days of it. The likely reason for cycle length changing is due to ovulation date changing.
from a testing point of view, best time to test is between 10-6pm, not recommended FMU for this type of opk. As my tests get darker I start testing more frequently. So 10, 2 and 6…ish.

Thanks so much this is really really helpful. I tested again on my lunch break and it had definitely gotten darker will try one more 6pm time. (Not in Uk)
Will start avoiding the mornings first thing!
I think I saw the egg white and paniced why no peak . It's all so confusing!

really interesting re cycle changing because of ovulation changing, I had not considered this at all!!

@xTinkerbell also ttc #3! I have an 8 and 5yr old, first was unplanned, 2nd 6 cycles, had an ectopic 3yrs ago which was unplanned (literally sex once in that cycle!!!) and now 18months in to ttc for the next. Ive just had a chemical pregnancy last cycle so hoping my body’s gearing up to go again!!
