Thread no 2 as thread 1 was so close to getting full!

As a reminder this is a positive support thread for anyone preparing and planning to start TTC in 2023 💖

If you join start by introducing yourself with your age. what no. you're trying for and when you plan on starting plus any goals you might have before then! for example:

@DanisEndo
Age 27
TTC No.1
Starting Sep 23
I want to:

  • loose some weight (would like to get down to a healthy BMI by exercising and doing all home cooking, nothing to major or restrictive)
  • do some decorating around the house
  • get married (1st September woooo!)
  • change job / company
I have endometriosis and PCOS, 2 surgeries down and hoping I'll still be all clear by the time we get to trying.

Theres a long list of us now so bare with me updating it as we go 😅

Good luck everyone!!!

@Hopingforno2in2023 yaasss! Great news! I actually have a GP appt booked for the same date. If I don’t find out I’m pregnant this month I’ll be starting the journey to referral for fertility assistance.

@xTinkerbell it’s not over yet! I’ll hope that Sod’s Law means you get pregnant (having put away all the clothes!)

@LeopardLover I am O+6 today. I do feel different. I had some bad cramping the first few days after O which I have never had, and some brown spotting on O+3 (also a first) which I had hoped would be implantation bleeding but having done research is basically impossible and it’s more likely an indication of not enough progesterone to maintain the womb lining. None since though so maybe it was related to ovulation which would corresponds with it being brown maybe?I am cautiously hopeful I could be pregnant? My guts just feel strange - weird bloating and cramping that I’m not familiar with.

LeopardLover · 23/05/2023 16:40

@Finderskeepers90 Cerys is such a beautiful name, what a lovely meaning 🥰 how are you getting on?

@Hopingforno2in2023 How exciting! That's so soon 🙏🏻

@xTinkerbell Oh it's so hard when you see their little clothes and feel that pull! How are you getting on now? It can still happen! I understand that feeling of not being done.

@CRbear Any news? Fingers crossed for you!

I'm back from my holiday and I'm now in the TWW. Not feeling like this is the month but there's always hope.

Hopingforno2in2023 · 23/05/2023 13:59

Clinic just rang, our consent appointment is 14 June and we will get our treatment schedule then. Maybe we will start this summer!

Fingers crossed for you CRbear!

xTinkerbell · 21/05/2023 18:34

@CRbear keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Ive been packing up DD’s things she’s outgrown today (17 months but dinky and just outgrown 6-9 months) and i’m feeling very emotional. I just think my short and irregular cycles mean it won’t happen for us again and I just don’t feel done

CRbear · 21/05/2023 14:07

I’m even more confident now (dangerous territory!) - I’ve had spotting which I never ever have! Obviously I’m convinced it’s implantation bleeding but it’s only day o+3 which is likely too early!

TrudyProud · 21/05/2023 13:03

Thank you @CRbear . I'm 6+2 and as always the first trimester is dragging! Gonna book an early scan this week.

Sounds really positive on your end. Will keep my fingers crossed. Gaargh, the only thing longer than the first trimester is the TWW

CRbear · 21/05/2023 08:24

Congrats @TrudyProud - such great news! Glad you’re starting to enjoy it.

well my fears came true and I have had another 52 day cycle. However I have at least ovulated and it wasn’t longer than last time so something to be happy about there.

I feel like I might be pregnant too. I had the right CM at the right time, my temperatures shot up- nothing gradual. Had some cramping event day since. I don’t know why I think I might be now I just have a feeling. Probably wrong! o+3 today so a while until I find out.

I have booked GP For next month to discuss what next for us anyway so it would be classic to talk pregnant just before that! I’m not willing to tolerate my cycles just getting longer indefinitely!

skyerojo · 17/05/2023 20:54

@Mangotango39 v helpful advice and I agree, going to do exactly that. Done lots of reading up on these threads recently so decided to stop this month, actually took my last pill at the weekend (🎉). Crazy really how different everyone's journey is and no way of knowing what yours will be...

Mangotango39 · 17/05/2023 20:43

skyerojo · 10/05/2023 17:27

Hey everyone, joining in too mainly to start making it real for myself!

Will be TTC #1 later this year, I'm 32.

Will be coming off the pill soon though likely won't be trying until end of summer earliest.

In meantime nervous for the pill withdrawal to be honest! Anyone have a positive experience finally coming off the pill after a long time...?! It's been around 10 years for me.

Hope anyone testing this week gets their BFP 🤞

I'd get off the pill as soon as really and use condoms in the interim if you don't mind.
it took me over 6 months to regulate my periods when I came off 😥
not to say yours won't be an easier transition but if your wanting to start end of summer this would help get your body ready! 🙂

Hopingforno2in2023 · 17/05/2023 18:07

So I spoke to the clinic and it seems it is more a couple of months wait which is a relief.

happytobemrsg · 13/05/2023 21:36

Finally took my first folic acid tablet today 😂 so it’s feeling real now!

Hopingforno2in2023 · 13/05/2023 08:16

Good luck coffee!

had our results letter yesterday and it said it would be months before we start treatment which is gutting. Going to call them on Monday and try and clarify if that means the autumn or are they talking post Christmas. Just need my expectations managed. Autumn is ok, will be devastated if after Christmas.

xTinkerbell · 12/05/2023 17:23

@CoffeeMama1 I can definitely see a line too.

i’ve an appointment in 2 weeks to check full blood count and thyroid. She wouldn’t check anything else unless we are a year ttc even though my concern is my cycles not my fertility!

CoffeeMama1 · 12/05/2023 13:12

Thank you! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. Annoyingly I'm out all day tomorrow, literally from 7am-6pm so unless I can find some in person (I live out in the sticks and they seem to be like gold dust!) I'll have to wait for Sunday I think, but still at least then it should be a bit clearer either way.

Hopefulhoney6 · 12/05/2023 13:02

@CoffeeMama1 I always order FRERs next day delivery on Amazon prime ☺️ that’s where they are cheapest too!

I can see a faint line. When I has a BFP (sadly ended in MMC) I was negative at 10 DPO, positive on 12 DPO so I think it could be hopeful but I know those cheap strips get mixed results!

CoffeeMama1 · 12/05/2023 09:35

Thank you @Mummyme87 ! I don't have any other tests at all at the moment and don't think I can get any until Sunday 😬 I think I'm just going to have to distract myself and wait a bit longer.

Mummyme87 · 12/05/2023 09:31

@CoffeeMama1 I do see a line on the original. Do you have any other tests? I recommend the boots pink dye early tests.
I’m not into inverting tests as indents can be seen doing that. Fingers crossed for you

CoffeeMama1 · 12/05/2023 09:20

Sorry I haven't caught up yet but can anyone help with how to tell if it's and indent/Evap line? 10DPO today, had to test because yesterday I had some light pink/brown spotting and out of nowhere hit with a headache and sore throat, all very similar to when I was pregnant with my first.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the line came up within the time, but it wasn't immediate, maybe a minute or so, and now it's dried out more its even harder to see (although I'm convinced it's still there).

Does inverting the colours mean anything? I did it and the second line was visible, lightly, but I don't know if that actually works tbh.

Any advice is hugely appreciated 🙏 (I covered the tests just in case it's triggering for anyone)

@skyerojo I was on the pill for about 9 years. Came off it to give my body a chance to regulate for TTC but also wasn’t preventing & fell pregnant in month 1.

I went back on the pill for a year between DS & DD and conceived on month 4.

Hi all!

Room for a little ‘un?

TTC no. 2
Age: 33
Starting: originally Sept ‘23 but I suppose May/June now. I have started taking folic acid and vit d.

I fell pregnant with my LG on 2nd cycle trying in 2021 after a record breaking 79 day 1st cycle trying so she felt like a miracle! My periods are irregular and it’s definitely on my mind I won’t be so lucky this time!

I took conceive plus ovulation support last time and not sure whether to start it again now or give it a few cycles and see what happens!

xTinkerbell · 10/05/2023 16:01

@BatildaB this is me right now! I’ve not had one single meal today. A digestive biscuit, bar of chocolate and packet of crisps 🤦‍♀️Currently making something decent for dinner.

I struggle a lot with breakfasts but did start making a point of eating breakfast between having DS & DD. Not sure how I fell back out of that habit but I think from tomorrow i’ll start making a more conscious effort. I’m a few lbs overweight since having my kids and trying to work on losing that so really should balance my diet better and it’ll all help probably.

Oh perfect! i’ll give that a try, I’m willing to try anything. Sick of these horribly short cycles

BatildaB · 10/05/2023 15:52

@xTinkerbell Yeah, I slip into living off caffeine and sugar, and could easily not eat till 4pm, I do think that stuff can have an effect on cycle length? And it all feels quite connected - not eating for ages, then lots of sugar, then sleeping less well.. not very hormone supportive. But quitting coffee and eating breakfast for a few weeks has me officially overweight for the first time. Trying to find the sustainable compromise lifestyle!

Oh the other thing I do that I think might be helping is tart cherry supplements before bed to increase melatonin. Melatonin seems to have a lot to do with fertility and healthy hormones, might be another thing to try.

Hope the dr is helpful.

xTinkerbell · 10/05/2023 14:56

@Hopingforno2in2023 I’ll definitely ask! Going to ask them to check thyroid too. Back in January I had a similar issue with a random 11 day cycle and was fobbed off with ‘that happens sometimes’. Since then they have varied from 22-24 but don’t really want to just take this 16 days as a ‘just happens sometimes’

@BatildaB Glad to hear you’ve had some success. Think I’ll give the pregnacare a go. This month has been a weird one but i’m typically 22-24 with the odd 21/25 thrown in. So if I could manage to extend that by a few days that would be great. I’ve been trying to improve my diet but I’m the worst for skipping meals and fuelling myself with sugar. Need to make a more conciliatory effort especially with breakfast/lunch. I was prioritising sleep really well for a while but i’ve let it go so i’ll work on that again.

Im glad you’re finding these things having an affect on your cycle. Thank you for sharing! Hopefully mine follows suit

Hopingforno2in2023 · 10/05/2023 13:23

Short cycles can be a sign of low progesterone so definitely ask the GP to test for that Tinker
