BambiBooBoo · 28/01/2023 19:35

Can't work out if the tests are a bad batch or giving me evaps or a BFP

Test was done just now with a hold.
What do you think?

Don't want to get my hopes up

DH says I'm seeing things 🤦🏻‍♀️

Physically- I'm really nauseous all day every day. Having aversions to foods

No more bleeding- hoping that's good but scared to get my hopes up

@TheShellBeach I'm fed up.
Gp refused to give me a blood test as she didn't think it's worth it (see my comment above for details)
Midwife is ignoring me- telling me arrange blood test with gp but doesn't even bother to reply to my messages

I'm just getting fed up with it. No one is listening to me or what I want or need

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 17/02/2023 18:09

How are you, OP?

BambiBooBoo · 16/02/2023 15:22

@shieldmaiden7
I spoke to the lady who was trying to book me in for 1st midwife appointment. She said it's standard to get a blood test to check levels and to ring GP to arrange it

Rung GP "I'm not going to offer you a blood test as it will be of no benefit. You don't need one. If your pregnancy urine tests are still positive then a blood test isn't going to matter.
But you can still be having a miscarriage if your urine pregnancy tests are positive so don't get your hopes up"

..... I'm seriously having enough of this. People fobbing me off

shieldmaiden7 · 16/02/2023 15:12

@BambiBooBoo the fact that your cycle is long makes a massive difference. I'm due October 18th according to my last period and my cycle length is always 34 days, If I go by the default 28 days I'd be due a week earlier. No doubt if I had a scan now very little would be seen compared to what would be seen at 6 weeks their dates would put me at. I wish they would listen to you.

BambiBooBoo · 16/02/2023 14:59

I've just finished a whole jar of gherkins 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ would love to blame it on pregnancy symptoms but I love them normally too 😂

I don't test ovulation @CheeseandGherkins so I have no idea if I ovulated "late"

I just had a call from the maternity unit to do my booking appointment stuff- so I basically accidentally had a rant about no one helping. They said it's STANDARD to be offered blood level checks with a early scan through EPU.... that was my 9th early scan and I've NEVER been offered bloods...

OP posts:
CheeseandGherkins · 16/02/2023 14:06

And yes I would definitely wait. You don't need their permission, just inform them of your decision.

CheeseandGherkins · 16/02/2023 14:05

@BambiBooBoo I've had this name for many years now and absolutely adore cheese with gherkins Grin I have pcos and irregular cycles so it's definitely possible you ovulated later than you think as I've tested for mine in the past.

I would think you were earlier due to the test line being light but that isn't always a given. Fingers crossed that you're just really early on and that there will be progress at your next scan.

Merryweather80 · 16/02/2023 13:57

I really hope it was too early to see a baby. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.
Difficult but try to keep your mind busy - easier said than done.
Good luck with bloods- and unhelpful midwife.
Hell, yes to cheese and gherkins, I'm not even pregnant. (also heads to fridge)

BambiBooBoo · 16/02/2023 13:52

@shieldmaiden7 - nope. They did not.
I'm going to ring GP now as I asked midwife this morning about bloods to check HCG but she ignoring me again. She's useless.

They said they'd estimate me around 6 weeks. (I thought I was 6+2 on my scan) BUT I was using a app. When I went on NHS website it says I MIGHT have been 5weeks2 because my cycles are long (about 35days) and irregular.
And NO ONE bothers to ask if my cycles are regular or how long my cycle days are

OP posts:
BambiBooBoo · 16/02/2023 13:50

@CheeseandGherkins (I love your username but now im going to have to go get cheese and gherkins out the fridge 😂)

I worked out my cycles are around 35days. Af started 31stDecember22. Tested positive 29thJanuary
NHS website is saying I would have been around 5weeks2 on my scan- where as I thought I would be over 6- so maybe....im too early? Im not sure I want to get my hopes up?
Yes it was internal

I've got another scan on 21st. So I will see what they say then. And then ask if I can wait another week if there's still nothing?

I've asked midwife to do bloods to do my HCG level but in all honesty (not being rude) she is flipping USELESS!!! Won't answer any questions ect and ignores me. So I'll have to ring GP

OP posts:
BambiBooBoo · 16/02/2023 13:46

@Merryweather80 17..... oh my I'm so sorry..
Surgical route will definitely be the easiest for me. Again
I've been doing so much googling and research. I've worked out my cycles are on average 35 days. So really long cycles. That would of put me at 5weeks2 on my scan. So maybe it's too early??
But I don't want to get my hopes up. Every pregnancy I had HG- im feeling very nauseous today and yesterday but I haven't thrown up. So maybe that's a sign pregnancy isn't progressing?

They said "there's a pregnancy- I can see that. Im estimating around 6ISH weeks but I can't see a baby" but they said nothing else than that. My scan is in the thread

Luckily I'm a stay at home mum to my mum 15month old so he's keeping me distracted as best he can getting into mischief 😂

Thank you- I really appreciate people such as yourself taking the time to talk to me and share stories or advice x

shieldmaiden7 · 16/02/2023 11:07

Did they not even suggest you are possibly earlier than what you thought? If you were only 4 weeks it would be way to early to see anything. I'm surprised they didn't do bloods. Is there anyway you can get to the gp and ask for bloods to be done?

CheeseandGherkins · 16/02/2023 11:04

Looking at when you tested positive (with a faint line) it would appear that you were only 4 weeks and not 6. That would then mean you wouldn't see a baby at a scan only a couple of days later. Was it an internal scan?

I honestly think it's just too early for a baby to have developed and you need to wait a couple of weeks to be 6 weeks or so.

Merryweather80 · 16/02/2023 11:01

I can completely understand. I have had 17 mc’s, and some I've cried instantly, some I was numb, some I had so many frigging questions I thought my brain would pop. All I can say is for me surgery was emotionally and physically easier, especially once I had children because I knew it was definitely done. There was closure.

Emotionally it's a roller coaster. Some I felt with better than others. I guess hormones have a part to play mixed with emotions.
Is there a possibility that there is a pregnancy and not just a sac as a pp has experienced?

This is such an emotional and physically demanding experience. Take time off from work if you can. Talk to us here if and when you want to, or your partner. Take time for yourself and do what you need to heal and understand it all.
I really feel for you. I just don't know what to say to you except that you are not alone.
Keep us updated if you want to or feel you can. xx

BambiBooBoo · 16/02/2023 09:33

@Salamander91 they straight up told me there's no baby and my scan on Tuesday will be to check if I've passed anything. But I'm glad 1 of those times worked out for you! 💕

@TheShellBeach I think I'm gonna go straight for surgical. Then Atleast I know it's done and I won't have to worry about possible ambulance trips again.

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 15/02/2023 23:28

I've read too many horror stories on here where women have medical management and it turns into a nightmare. Personally I would always opt for surgical. So sorry it's happened three times in a row for you. That happened to me as well but as I told you, we did eventually have four children. Thankfully.

Salamander91 · 15/02/2023 23:24

Don't give up just yet. I've had this go both ways. The first time my dates were a bit off and he's now a healthy nearly 6 year old. The second time it was a miscarriage. It's too soon to say and they should have offered you another scan in 2 weeks. I hope everything goes ok. It's an awful time I know

BambiBooBoo · 15/02/2023 22:57

@TheShellBeach I'm sorry it happened to you too Flowers
2nd miscarriage luckily dealt itself naturally
1st one I chose medical management- ended up in ambulance two times then a emergency D&C as retained placenta ect

The trauma from seeing the foetus come away with the medical management made me shut down for 2 weeks. My partner said I didn't speak a word to him. I LITERALLY can't remember it- it's a black void in my memory
and I can't risk that happening again with my son here now

So I think I HAVE to go straight for D&C

But when they did the D&C they tore my uterus slightly and that made me have lots of pregnancy scares and bleeding with my DS
But they REFUSE to acknowledge it was their fault

@TheShellBeach - I don't think it's sunk in yet... I just feel nauseous (I've still got pregnancy symptoms as I'm still pregnant. Just no baby) . it's been 2 days and I haven't cried. I think it will set in next Tuesday when they give me my "options" on getting rid of what's left ....

This is my 3rd loss now ... so I think somethings wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh darling. That's what happened to me with my first pregnancy.
I had a lot of miscarriages, but did eventually end up with four children.
Have you decided how you want to proceed? I had a D & C. Maybe you haven't figured it out yet.
It's so sad when this happens.

BambiBooBoo · 15/02/2023 22:08

@GoT1904 by the sounds of it, there's no baby. End of. (But it would have been nice if they help explain it to me better)

nope not helpful at all. they didn't offer to do bloods or anything.
I tried asking my midwife medical questions-
All I got was "I'm so sorry ...."

Like that's NOT helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@GoT1904 I have no idea what happened!

I just had some spotting- so I had a scan at 6weeks2 and they said "I can see a pregnancy but there's no baby. Come back next Tuesday to see if you've passed it or you need help to have a miscarriage"

I'm sooooo fucking confused and lost with the "information" they gave me. Basically no help at all!!

My scan is empty- just the egg sac

Have you had your HcG levels checked? Is there a possibility it's too early?

I'm sorry. It sounds awful and it doesn't sound like the scan staff were very helpful at all!
