Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@Ruby030 im so sorry! I haven’t been on Mumsnet in a while but congratulations!!!! I hope everything has gone smoothly!

@Bex4567 still waiting for mine ☹️ had a BFN this morning (completely expected as we didn’t have time to DTD so only did once around ovulation). Going into cycle 13!

How is everyone getting on?

Hi did any of you get ya bfp and which month

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 09:53

Oh my god I just did a test I’m pregnant!!!!!

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 07:57

I’m sorry if I’m rambling I’m really excited and a bit nervous to do a test!

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 07:50

I’ll let you know how it goes but yes I would definitely recommend taking them as they seem to have worked well for me personally. I take them with conceive plus fertility support as well. I would say though that I was on the fertility support supplements for a good number of months (about 5) and I only conceived after taking ovulation support as well for over a month.

Ruby030 · 22/11/2023 07:43

It’s still up to you and your partner what you want to do though. How do you feel about IVF?

Well I got pregnant after my first full month of taking ovulation support which is when I got a 14 day luteal phase. The cycle after that where I got pregnant I ovulated a lot earlier than usual as well. As we’re back to trying I went straight back on ovulation support and I’m now on CD 15 with no bleeding and my temperature has gone back up! This is again after taking it for just over a month. So I’m out to get a pregnancy test today!

Meadows23 · 21/11/2023 19:03

I had an appointment with a fertility consultant and then received a letter through and when they said treatment sooner rather than later it’s really thrown me - feel a bit unsure what to do next really.

I’m really glad the Conceive Plus ovulation support has been working for you and your cycle has increased to 14 days! :) I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your BFP really soon. Would you recommend those tablets? I’ve never managed to have a luteal phase longer than 11 days and I feel like if I could just get it to 14 days it would really help.

Ruby030 · 21/11/2023 17:08

Hi :) Myself and my partner have been TTC for about the same amount of time. We considered IVF but haven’t gone down that route yet.

From what I’ve read when I’ve looked into my own luteal phase as it’s also around 11 days the same as yours some sites say that an 11 day luteal phase is on the short side. It’s not always enough time for an egg to implant before AF arrives. From my own experience as I said on my previous post the cycle before the one I conceived was a longer luteal phase at 14 days. When I’ve looked on forums there are also ladies that have conceived with an 11 day luteal phase though so it’s obviously different for everyone :)

Meadows23 · 21/11/2023 11:52

Hello :)

I’ve been following this thread for a while - always hoping to see BFPs for you all.

I’ve been actively TTC for 1 year now, no preventing for 18 months. We’ve had tests done - male partner is all fine however I’ve got less than average AMH for my age and unsure whether to proceed with IVF as advised treatment sooner rather than later or whether to proceed with further investigations such as a HyCoSy.

My luteal phase is never longer than 11 days but not sure how big a deal this is!

Ruby030 · 21/11/2023 07:25

@kalixxx I’m sorry to hear that, it is really disappointing when you get something that you think is a good sign only to realise your body is just doing something different from what you’d normally expect that cycle. There’s always next cycle though! That’s how we try to look at it. This is a longer luteal phase for me than usual but my temperature is on its way down. I’m taking Conceive Plus ovulation support to try and get my cycles and luteal phase to a better length and it seems like they’re working which is really good. My luteal phase is normally roughly 11 days but the cycle before I conceived and this cycle it has been 14 days. I’m hoping that means odds are really good for my next cycle 🤞

@Karinx Good luck to you on your first cycle TTC. It’s really exciting isn’t it? Everyone can get a positive test at different times some people it can be really early and others it’ll only be after they’ve missed their period. For the strongest confirmation and not having to squint to see if there is a line or not it’s better to wait until the day after you’ve missed a period. I know it’s hard though I get impatient as well because I just want to know! lol

Karinx · 20/11/2023 20:03

@kalixxx thank you 🥰 I keep hearing about people that have had their BFP so early which just makes me impatient 😅 will keep testing and crossing fingers. First cycle has definitely been interesting, who knew there were so many symptoms you can pick up! And I've learned so much

kalixxx · 20/11/2023 11:12

@Ruby030 spotting continued Friday and Saturday then I came on yesterday, absolutely gutted as me and OH were sure this was it as I have never had spotting before ☹️

How are you getting on?

@Karinx welcome to the thread! 🥰 it’s still super early days at 10 DPO, I’ve read that 9 DPO is most common for ovulation so it’s not until 11-12 DPO that you’re likely to get a positive!

How have you found the first cycle TTC?

OP posts:
Karinx · 19/11/2023 17:22

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining in ☺️ This is our first cycle TTC #1. I'm currently 10DPO, have had some hopeful symptoms but testing negative at the moment. Not getting my hopes up too much, I know it will be unlikely first try but feeling excited about it all 🥰

Ruby030 · 17/11/2023 21:41

@kalixxx well I just do a temperature check in the morning at the same time so it’s become kind of a routine for me.

Ruby030 · 17/11/2023 21:40

I hope she does but I decided to do a little internal check and kind of wish I hadn’t, considering what I felt I’m pretty confident I’m out this month which sucks. Have you ovulated this cycle? Could be implantation bleeding if you have :)

kalixxx · 17/11/2023 21:28

@Ruby030 ahhh I’m hoping AF stays away for you! I’ve not tried temping yet, I think I would probably get a bit obsessed 😅

I’m on CD26 today and I’ve had some light bleeding, my cycles are usually 29-32 days so this is very random for me. If it’s AF I’ve never been this early before, very confused!

OP posts:
Ruby030 · 17/11/2023 20:30

@kalixxx I’m at 10 DPO at the moment but my cycle’s generally last about 11 days so I’ll see if my temperature drops tomorrow. I’m getting some pain in my lower back and abdomen that feels like it might be the start of AF as it’s at that time in my cycle which is not a great sign. I’ll know for sure by tomorrow as I’ll see a crash in my BBT if this is period pain.

kalixxx · 17/11/2023 08:21

@Ruby030 how are you getting on? You must almost be at 14 DPO now!

@Nmmck93 that’s so good, you’ll feel so much better coming back to it with a fresh mind!

I completely freaked out when we did the home test but I’m trying to not think about it now!

I’m 12 DPO, maybe less actually as I couldn’t pin point ovulation and had the urge to POAS, but I’ve only got one test and it’s not an early one so did an OPK. It’s got a line but defo not positive. But then I have no idea if that’s normal at this time anyway. So that was a bit of a waste 😅

OP posts:
Nmmck93 · 12/11/2023 13:53

@kalixxx oh the break has been great for the mental health for both of us and we’re so excited to start up again.

Yeah was deffs just the position then.
oh fingers crossed you will have that positive this month! 💜

hoping the tests go okay! I wouldn’t rely on the at home tests just yet as sometimes they can be so off! I’m sure one month wouldn’t make a difference. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

im giving it until Feb March before my partner goes and gets his tests done and I’ll get mine redone. 🙈

Ruby030 · 10/11/2023 18:58

I’m 3DPO so I’ve got a little wait until I know what’s going on. I’ve got everything crossed though!

kalixxx · 10/11/2023 18:03

@Ruby030 how far are you in this cycle? ☺️

@Nmmck93 wow time flies, I can’t believe it’s next month you’ll be starting back up TTC! Hopefully the break has done you good and you’ll get lucky for your first month back!

I stopped bleeding after a few days, worry over! I think it was the certain position just pushed something inside me, will be avoiding that one from now on 🤣

I’m not sure when I ovulated,
sometime between Sunday and Wednesday, so I’m officially into the TWW!

My OH had this appt moved so it’s in a couple weeks he’s speaking to the GP about his at home test with the abnormal result. Hoping we can get the ball rolling even though it’s been 11 months, 1 month early can’t hurt can it 😅

OP posts:
Nmmck93 · 08/11/2023 10:22

@kalixxx hi lovely! Hope you’re keeping well!

I haven’t been keeping an eye on Mumsnet as much as I’m on my break but starting up again next month.

I wouldn’t worry toooo much about the bleeding at the minute until it’s more common.
before my two endo operations I bled everytime we did the deed which is a symptom - now I only spot light pink if it was too rough, or not fully aroused. Also find that some positions that aren’t very comfortable causes spotting so could have been the new position so maybe leave that position for a while and see how you get on.

hope to be back on here a lot more next month as we’ll be back actively trying next month and I’m excited to get back at it. 💜 hopefully this month is your month. ❤️

Ruby030 · 07/11/2023 20:28

Thanks for the welcome I only started reading about it after the fact when I thought to myself maybe I shouldn’t have gone into a steam room. Of course it was a little late by then 😅 lol

Thankyou though that’s good to hear anyway :)

kalixxx · 07/11/2023 13:18

@Ruby030 welcome to the thread!

I read quite a bit about this at the start of TTC because I was booked in for a spa and a lot of people said not to worry and just enjoy yourself! I didn’t conceive that month but then I didn’t conceive the other 10 months so I highly doubt that had anything to do with it 🤣 I can’t remember the actual science but it wasn’t enough to put me off using the steam room or jacuzzi so it must have said it was fine.

OP posts:
Ruby030 · 07/11/2023 12:58

We’re TTC first baby, I’ve actually got a question I went in a steam room for 10 minutes yesterday and I’m just before ovulation. I’m worried this is going to have caused a problem with any sperm I have in my system from BD’ing and what it’ll mean for TTC this month. Any thoughts?
