Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

@cobalt123 my work productivity in TWW really slips it’s bad, working from home doesn’t help because I can slip out and buy tests whenever I get the urge 😂

@kalixxx it's really exciting to be starting the journey but it's completely taken over my brain. My work productively is terrible 🤣

kalixxx · 27/03/2023 15:22

@Piglet34 Just want AF to come now so I can start with the next cycle!

Have to try and sneak off before who you’re sharing with comes back! 😂 Have a lovely weekend away though! 💓

@dormicumema peeing on a stick addition is real 😂 try your best to hold out as long as possible, it’s not easy though it is!

@cobalt123 Welcome to the TTC fun! It can be so consuming can’t it!

I haven’t been on the pill in a few years but don’t remember having anything unusual, just my normal bleed with some cramping at the start. The pill can definitely mess up your cycles to begin with when coming off so I probably wouldn’t worry too much! I’d try your best to wait out with testing, but it’s easier said than done!

Hi all. Hope you don't mind me jumping on to get a second opinion or two. I'm ttc #1 and only came off the pill 17 days ago. However I missed a pill 5 days previous to that. I've now been cramping for 6 days with some super light bleeding Friday Saturday. I took a test on Friday which was negative. CM dried up about 4 days ago so I don't think it's ovulation pain. I've read that occasionally people can ovulate super quickly when coming off the pill. I'm trying to resist reaching for another test and I'm driving myself crazy. Has anyone else had cramping like this when coming off the pill? I'm trying to hold off doing any more testing of until this Friday but it's so preoccupying!!!

dormicumema · 27/03/2023 13:43

@kalixxx Im an early tester, it's 3 dpo and already almost tested today omg 😂but we've been trying since November so Im kind of losing patience here. Wish I could finally get my bfp soon... Oh well.

Piglet34 · 27/03/2023 13:41

@kalixxx ow so sorry to hear about your test this morn :( I agree with @dormicumema though, you being sick this cycle could've affected it! Hope you get a definite answer in the next few days 💓

@Kaspery8 I am also due to ovulate this weekend, but me and DH are going away for one of our friends 30ths and there are 35 people going all sharing rooms so don't know how much chance we will have to DTD 😒

kalixxx · 27/03/2023 10:13

@Kaspery8 my cervix is super low this morning so I’m pretty sure AF is about to make an appearance ☹️

It’s amazing how different you feel isn’t it! I always feel so calm and think cycle I’m going to be so chill then by 3 DPO I’m symptom spotting again 😂

Kaspery8 · 27/03/2023 10:08

@kalixxx sorry to hear about the BFN, got my fingers crossed for you that's there's still a chance for this cycle.

I've started taking Vitabiotics pregnacare vitamins and bought a big batch of the cheap one step ovulation tests. From others experiences on here I'm expecting cycle changes and unclear test results 🤣 Based on my tracking app I'm due for ovulation thur/Fri, I've enjoyed the period not in the TWW, it's amazing how different you feel.

kalixxx · 27/03/2023 09:26

@dormicumema ahh TWW is horrible isn’t it! Are you an early tester or do you manage to hold out?

I was sick right when I was supposed to be ovulating so then according to OPKs I ovulated late, maybe I didn’t ovulate at all, who knows!

Because I ovulated late I’m already on CD33, just want AF now so I can move on to the next cycle!

dormicumema · 27/03/2023 09:04

@kalixxx so sorry to hear that :( this TWW is a nightmare. Im like 3-4 dpo and already going crazy
it's only your third cycle though and with this cycle as I remember you were sick so probably that's the reason.
Though not over until af comes :)

kalixxx · 27/03/2023 08:59

Tested again this morning and BFN, should be 13 DPO today so I’ll take that as I’m out ☹️

Hope everyone’s doing ok and had nice weekends!

@NavigatingLife I absolutely love the premom app! Have ordered easy @ home tests for this cycle when AF eventually arrives 😭

@Piglet34 Oh really!? Well this is my second cycle taking them and they've both been completely messed up so I think I'll have to swap over as well as its so frustrating knowing it's failed but then having to wait even longer for my next cycle, thanks for letting me know 😊

Piglet34 · 24/03/2023 22:48

@BexTTC omg I just read back and saw your post, I was taking seven seas trying for a baby for two cycles and it completely messed them up! Basically had like a one day random AF and so much spotting and then my period just wouldn't come. I stopped taking them and AF came the next day! So annoying :( now I'm just on the folic acid & vitamin D boots ones

NavigatingLife · 24/03/2023 17:18

Just on the question of what OPKs people are using, I'd defs recommend the easy @ home ones alongside the Premom app (can use it for free) - on the app you take a photo and it gives a ratio of the difference which is then saved so you can really track. Near my peak I actually tested 3 times a day but cause I'd got a box of 40 I was happy to use away at them.

I tried clear blue digital at first but didn't like that you couldn't see a line progression. I was also tried Boots own brand but they were quite pricey. Also was squinting at the Boots ones trying to decide if it was darker than the control line etc - the Premom app really helped with this. I only found out about it reading thought threads on here!

Piglet34 · 24/03/2023 12:20

@kalixxx I'm still going to test with OPKs as it's still useful to have the data so I can predict when ovulation might be for any next months :) and I kind of enjoy doing it 😅

I just went to the GP actually and they are going to do my 21 day blood tests this month to try and figure out what might be causing the spotting! She also did a cervical exam and I do still have the ectropion which could be causing it. I was surprised how helpful they were after all the stories you hear about long waits! I feel a lot better about it now and hopefully will get some answers soon 🤞🏻

BexTTC · 24/03/2023 11:57

@dormicumema Oh really? I'm taking 'seven seas trying for a baby' prenatal so they have folic acid in etc which apparently can mess with cycles, I wondered why as soon as we started trying my cycles decided to go haywire lol.

@Nmmck93 I'm definitely going to get easy at home and use them next cycle! I've heard nothing but good reviews on them.

First cycle I didn't know nearly as much as I do this one so feeling more confident but keeping in mind each cycle is one step closer to BFP for all of us 💕

Nmmck93 · 24/03/2023 11:29

@dormicumema one step never ever gave me a positive or a peak which made me believing I wasn’t ovulating so this month I switched to easy @ home they work for me. But as I said to Bex everyone finds different tests better than others so it’s just about finding what works for you and sticking to it.

Nmmck93 · 24/03/2023 11:27

@BexTTC in fairness everyone is different, I was using one step but my results where always classes as negative and never the same as control line or darker but some people find that one step works for them. Maybe give easy @ home a go on your next cycle and test with second morning urine after a hold and then later in the evening and see how you get on.

dormicumema · 24/03/2023 11:26

BexTTC · 24/03/2023 11:18

@Nmmck93 I may have to invest in easy@ home ones then as I struggled last month to find my actual peak with the cheap ones I bought

Has anyone else found prenatals have completely messed up their cycles? Mine were always 30 days and last cycle was 42! This cycle is looking to be the same, so frustrating!

On my 3rd cycle my period actually came 4 days earlier with prenatals, so I switched only to folic. I think that the iron supplement in it somehow did sth

dormicumema · 24/03/2023 11:24

@BexTTC i use one step, not with the fmu. Usually around 9am
Maybe my bbt charting is going wrong and I am about to ovulate. Just have to keep dtd then 😋

Nmmck93 · 24/03/2023 11:10

@kalixxx dot ‘t give up yet, give it another 4 days before testing! Hopefully the BFP comes to you soon. It’s actually best not to have tests at home because sometimes it’s hard to get out to a shop to buy them whereas if you have them at home you feel obliged to test. Which is my dread because I have quite a few at home which my partner has now hid on me 🙈

@BexTTC i use the easy @ home ones and cheap ones at the same time and the easy @ home ones have been the only ones to find my peak and give an accurate read.

@dormicumema did you use FMU? Going by this forum second morning urine is more accurate for peak after holding as long as you can and not drinking fluids a lot. Which I did this month and got the best result yet. Also I try stop taking fluids around 5pm and then test around 8pm for my evening test (which was higher this month) I know it’s easier said than done.

kalixxx · 24/03/2023 11:03

@BexTTC thats what I’m trying to remind myself, just ignore the negative gut feeling!

@Nmmck93 ahh welcome to the dreaded TWW, definitely try your best and hold out, easier said that done though isn’t it 😅

@Piglet34 I definitely find it much easier at the weekend! Working from home is a nightmare because I always have the option to nip out and get tests or spend time scrolling on here 😅😂

Are you using OPKs this cycle or just seeing what happens with it being the Christmas due date cycle? Xx

OP posts:
Piglet34 · 24/03/2023 10:32

@kalixxx ow sorry to hear about your tests so far, but as others have said it is still early and anything can happen until AF shows! At least it's Friday now, I always find the TWW easier at the weekends, it's so hard not to just think about it when at home working. Really hope luck is coming your way soon xx

Welcome other ladies to the thread ! ✨ hope we get some more bfps on here soon. Re OPK tests I think it is about 24 hours after your peak that you ovulate. From scrolling threads for the last two months it seems that easy@home ones along with premom app is the best way to find your peak!

Nmmck93 · 24/03/2023 10:32

I’m currently 1DPO now today so I’m in my TWW. Going to try my hardest until 14DPO to test which is 7th of April but AF is due 6th if she’s gunna come. (I ovulate late).
now I’ve to keep my mind occupied for 2 weeks lol.
good luck everyone
