Hey everyone!

Is anyone else trying TTC #1?

I think I’m 9DPO although my cycles vary from 28-34 days so I’m really not sure. This is my first cycle TTC so I haven’t tracked ovulation.

I took a clear blue ultra early digital test this morning and BFN, I’ve heard digitals aren’t as accurate, is that true? (The way the test was laid and how I was sat meant the ‘not’ was in the shadow so for a second I thought it just said pregnant, was gutted!)

Any advice on not driving yourself mad during the TWW? 😂

Nmmck93 · 15/06/2024 21:57

@kalixxx oh hunny I’m sorry, did they say any changes to make to help boost anything?
My partner came back al positive, his morphology is at 3% but they said that’s nothing to worry about due to the fact they take a small sample from the actual sample so it could have been just that smaller sample.
they said conception vitamin, veg, less greasy fatty foods should help it but morphology isn’t a big thing.
x

kalixxx · 15/06/2024 17:56

@Nmmck93 how were your results? Sadly not good news for us, OHs analysis came back with only a 1 million count, 2% morphology, I can’t remember motility off hand but that was the only positive at around 60%. We’ve got to repeat again in another 3 months. Feeling pretty low about it but going to try new numerous things in the mean time.

@kalixxx it was, i am so sorry for the response. But really hope maybe this mistake means it is really close for you. For both of us :)

kalixxx · 06/06/2024 15:23

@dormicumema is this meant to be in response to someone else? I sadly don’t have anything to be congratulating 🥲😂

@kalixxx omg congratulations! You havent got any symptoms?

kalixxx · 06/06/2024 08:40

@dormicumema Ah I’m sorry to hear there’s no good news from you. I don’t blame you for going private, the NHS is such a slow process. We’ve got SA next week, I first requested a GP appointment back in January to talk about fertility, so it’s taken 6 months just to get to this point! I think if we were a few years older we’d be going private, I’m 27 (28 in a coupon of months) so I’d like to have my first by the time I’m 30 now. I can’t believe I thought it would happen the first cycle 18 months ago!

I hope your appt goes well and you get some answers soon, do keep us posted!

@Lunamoon23 Ahh amazing, I’m so pleased everything is going well! That’s great that you’ve managed to escape morning sickness as well, how lucky! I can’t wait for the moment I finally get to tell my OH, whenever that is!

We’ve got my OHs analysis next week so I’m hoping after that we’ll start to get some answers as to why it’s taking so long.

@Nmmck93 ah I’m sorry to hear still no good news from you! That’s great that you managed to get a cancellation, we’ve got SA next week, been waiting about 3 months! I’m hoping after this we’ll finally get some answers. I was wondering how long it would take to get the results, that’s not too bad getting them after a week, I was preparing myself to have to wait weeks and weeks.

I hope you finally start to get some answers from the SA and also from your own tests.

Do keep me posted if you do come onto Mumsnet! I’ve not been on here much either recently, trying to chill out on TTC.

I’m actually in for a small surgery this morning and they had to do a pregnancy test, sadly no one has told me that I’m miraculously pregnant 🥲😂 I am only 9/10 DPO so trying not to think too much into it and hold out hope.

@kalixxx hi lovely, how's things.
I've been off MN for the last while to try not over think TTCing lol.
Partner got a cancellation for is SA last week so his doctor has his results and we shall get them today or tomorrow. I have an appointment on Friday with my doctor then to see where to go from there but want to chat about getting checked for endo due to the last two months having symptoms and passing big massive clots during AF, I've had two operations before around 10 & 11 years ago so hoping to get some answers soon.

Also on the job hunt as my contract ends in a few weeks so have alot going on but just trying not to stress.

Hope all is good with you xx

Lunamoon23 · 04/06/2024 18:47

@kalixxx it was amazing telling him, he's over the moon and he's so excited, can't wait for our first scan so he can start telling people, which is next Friday (14th) so far we've only told my immediate family.
Feeling great, tiredness is a killer but I'm on my feet all day everyday at work from like 8-3. So i get home and I'm done but otherwise feeling good! I've managed to escape morning sickness which is amazing and I consider myself very lucky.

How's things going your end? Xxx

dormicumema · 04/06/2024 18:16

@kalixxx hello dear! How are you holding? Did your DH manage to do SA?
No good news from me. Tried letrozole 5mg for three cycles and repeated ultrasounds to check if I ovulated. Still unexplained here.
So we decided this year to completely go private route BC this is all taking too long. Next week we have an apt at a different fertility clinic, I am hoping for ivf route soon. It hasnt been that drastically long, 19 months in total, however every month is a mental battle and I wish it could be over...

kalixxx · 04/06/2024 12:59

@Lunamoon23 Hey! Sorry I’ve been of Mumsnet for a while not checked this read. How did telling your OH go? I hope everything is going smoothly!!

@Nmmck93 @Bluebell0921 @dormicumema I know it’s been a while that we posted on here but wanted to see how you’re all getting on if you’re still on Mumsnet?

Lunamoon23 · 18/04/2024 18:56

@kalixxx I've been having a few symptoms: sore boobs, my nipples are randomly hard sometimes 😂, fatigue, hungrier than normal and I've been getting bouts of quiet intense period pain like cramps and lower back pain that come and go, then don't last long but apparently it's your uterus stretching and completely normal.. (I googled it to death as I was panicking)
And I'm on the home stretch now... only just over a week to go and I can spill the beans haha! I've taken some Polaroids of our dogs with positive pregnancy tests, got a personalised baby grow and going to take a digital clear blue the morning of and put it into a box for him. I'll give it to him after he's opened his other presents and I'm going to try and film it without him noticing 😂 I've got a similar thing for my mum and step dad, with a baby grow saying 'nanny and grandad and I'll pop the pregnancy test in it too. Going to give it to them at dinner one evening on the cruise and film that too, hoping to put together a little montage video of it all.

Can I ask, have you been tracking with ovulation tests? I found that extremely helpful and used them throughout our journey, always helped me pin down exactly when I was most fertile and on the month we conceived we had sex the day I got my peak (only the once) we used pre seed and after I laid with my legs in the air for like 10 minutes and then laid in bed with a hot water bottle after (apparently providing a warm environment for the uterus helps with blood flow which helps pregnancy) although I was using it because I wasn't feeling well. We also did missionary... sorry tmi but just thought if any of it is helpful to you. Xxx

kalixxx · 18/04/2024 11:27

@Lunamoon23 ah I’m so so sorry to hear you’ve been going through all that, what a rough time. It does seem true that it’ll happen the times you least expect it.

How are you getting on? Any symptoms yet?!

I’m so impressed you’ve managed to keep it a secret, I could never! But you’re right it’ll be worth keeping it in when you do finally have that moment when you’re away, how exciting! I still don’t really understand why the count pregnancy from the start of your cycle, maybe I should be happy as I could
say that 1 week pregnant right now 😂

We’ve been trying since December 2022, it’s crazy how fast the time has gone. My OH’s sperm analysis is booked for June, that was the earliest date they had!! My blood has come back to show I’m ovulating and I had my ovaries scanned last year, not to do with fertility I was having stomach pain so they checked them anyway, but the doctor said they look good as I mentioned we were TTC. So sadly it’s looking likely it’s my OH with a possible issue.

@Bluebell0921 I was the same, I wanted 4 to start with! I have a very small family so I wanted to surround my self with my own babies 😅

Ah that was it, I forgot you weren’t trying too long before your break. You never know, the first month you start TTC again it could happen!

I’ve had my bloods done and they’ve confirmed I’m ovulating. My OH’s sperm analysis is booked for mid-June, we booked this last month and it was the earliest appt they had! We probably would have gone private if we were a couple years older as NHS wait times are obviously crazy. I think depending on the results we’ll then assess the situation!

Bluebell0921 · 15/04/2024 20:20

@kalixxx sorry to hear AF arrived. It’s so hard not to jump ahead and think about multiple children.

I’m a bit older than you (33) and I’d originally wanted 4!!! No way I’m gonna fit 4 in haha! Then I said ok 3, now I’m down to 2. I wanted to fit 2 in before 35 but that’s not gonna happen. It’s so hard isn’t it. We’ve only really tried for 6 months so not had any tests yet. I think we’ll start trying again in a few months and I’ll give it another 6 and then think about tests. What about you?

Lunamoon23 · 15/04/2024 17:36

@kalixxx we were trying for 10 months, I'll be honest, I was blown away that it happened. Especially as id been quiet unwell for a couple of months and was awaiting investigation for potential Crohn's disease, if lost alot of weight (never been above 9 1/2) but dropped down just below 8, I was exhausted and in pain all the time and the month we conceived we only had sex once in our fertile window which was the day I got a peak on my ovulation test.
The only thing I did differently was I was using a hot water bottle every night because of the pain..
I genuinely didn't think I'd be pregnant for a while with all that going on .. and usually I wouldn't test unless my period didn't arrive but for some reason I decided to test at 10DPO this month using my second morning wee and was gobsmacked!! I was convinced it was a false positive or faulty test. I messaged my best friend and she saw it, so then I used a clear blue digital the following morning and it was positive! I tested again this morning and much darker. I'm 31, 32 this year and this will be our first, and possibly our only. I've sort of only ever seen myself with one, but I know that may well change once we've had one.
How long have you been trying?

And so far, I've managed to keep it hush! It's been so hard and I'm going to scream a sigh of relief when it's finally out and I can talk freely with my husband and mum about it!! But, we've had such a shit time of things recently, I wanted it to be a special moment: so I'm determined to hold it in. I've managed to for a week so far ... got this week and new to go! I think I can do it!!
Rang the midwives today and waiting on a call back, to book my first appt as by the time we're back from holiday, based on how they calculate how far gone you are, (first day of last period) I'll be 8 weeks!! Which seems mad to me! Never understood why they date it that way, as those first two weeks you can't be pregnant, but .. what do I know! Haha

kalixxx · 15/04/2024 14:11

@Lunamoon23 massive congratulations!!! Could I ask how many cycles it took, looking for some hope after AF arrived today 🙁

How are you getting on with keeping it a secret! There’s no way I could but it’ll be a lovely moment when you’re away if you manage to!

@Bluebell0921 I know what you mean, I’m 27 but I’m already thinking this could take years yet what if I run out of time? I’m an only child and so is my mum, we both hated it so I’ve always said I’d want multiple children. Of course I would be absolutely over the moon to have just one but I’d really like multiple. I wanted to have 3 and be done by 32, no chance at this rate 😂

Have you had investigations done yet? Apologies you’ve most likely already said but we’ve been on this thread so long I’ve forgotten 😅

AF arrived for me today, I think this was cycle 16 or 17 still with no luck!

@Lunamoon23 aww that’s so exciting and lovely. You’ll have to come back and update us on the big reveal! 🤩

Lunamoon23 · 10/04/2024 17:58

@Bluebell0921 I don't know how I'm managing it to be honest haha! If we weren't going away I'd of 100% spilled by now. But we've had an awful lot going on currently with work and sick parents and we have a water leak in our home. So, I kind of want to do it when we're away from all the madness with no distractions and when we can just reveal in it and enjoy it... plus we're going away with my mum and step dad, and grandparents. So i hope to make announcement to them too as my mum is going to be over the moon! This will be her first grandchild and she's been dying for this for years! I've just ordered some cute little personalised baby grows. Going to film it all haha!

Bluebell0921 · 10/04/2024 17:54

Congrats @Lunamoon23 that is soooo exciting!! Can’t believe you’re going to keep it a secret for 2 weeks, I’m not sure I’d have the restraint! 😆

@kalixxx sorry for the delay in reply… not on here as much. I think I ultimately want to have a baby as well so it’s more my age that is making me go for it. I reckon if I could stretch out my early 30s a bit longer I’d probably put it off a few years especially if we end up needing medical intervention. I reckon I’ll start trying again in a few months but haven’t 100% decided. Originally I thought April but now I’m thinking I need to be a bit further along with moving. If we don’t find a house in the near future then perhaps we’ll just start trying again.

Lunamoon23 · 09/04/2024 18:17

Got confirmation today!
Clear blue digital - 11DPO FMU!! So excited!! I haven't told my husband yet, we're off on a cruise in 2 weeks time and it's his birthday the day after we disembark so trying to save it for them!

@Lunamoon23 hey! I can definitely see something!! I’ve read that 11 DPO is most common to start seeing a line so for 10 DPO this looks promising!

Keeping everything crossed this isn't a false positive!! I'll keep you updated xxxx

@hopingforapeainapod I’ve not checked Mumsnet in a while but omg congratulations!!!! So good to finally see another BFP on here, how are you getting on!

@Nmmck93 I got so excited when you posted those test, I’m so sorry it wasn’t your BFP ☹️

I’ve had my bloods done and everything is normal with me, my OH analysis isn’t until mid June, that’s the earliest date they had!!

I’m on CD17 today and we managed to DD on CD12, 13 and 14 so I feel like we’ve given it a better go this month. Life had kinda got in the way the last few months and we weren’t only managing to do it once or twice!

@Bluebell0921 that’s really interesting that you feel like you’ve lost all broodiness, I suppose it’s not a bad thing for now though. I still do really want to fall pregnant but I have definitely chilled out a lot. I don’t fantasise or obsess over it anymore, I think I’ve almost given up 😅

I completely agree it’s so hard being a woman, I hate how there’s this biological clock ticking! I’ve moved roles in my current company but I almost took a job somewhere else and it’s so frustrating that TTC plays such a big part in important life decisions.

How exciting that you’re looking at buying your forever home! It’s great that you’ve got so many other things to focus on!

OP posts:
Bluebell0921 · 01/04/2024 19:35

Hi everyone! How are you? Any news?

I was TTC for around 6 months and then got fed up and stressed with my old job so decided to go for something new and pause TTC. Absolutely loving the new job, it was totally the right decision. I had decided that I’d put off TTC until the New Year so that if I did fall pregnant I would’ve been at the new job for a decent amount of time. My new job then offered to fund some really exciting training for me that I’ll finish in December. I decided that I’d put off TTC until April so that I’ll definitely finish my training before going on maternity if I fall pregnant.

The interest rates started to drop and so we started thinking about buying our forever home. Now I’m in this total limbo of not knowing what to do. I’m actually really enjoying life and excited about the prospect of finding a home before having a baby but I’m worried it could take ages and I’m not getting any younger (early 30s). HELPPP. Why is it so hard being a woman!?
