Hi All.

This is a continuation from my past thread, but no need to go read that one if you're new here!

Quick TD;LR from the old post (but with up to date info) - I'm 31, OH is 35. We are TTC baby #1. Been TTC since Jan 2022, now on cycle 14. Haven't told anyone to avoid pressure.

Feel free to post any questions, thoughts, whinges, celebrations, basically anything here!

Going to try to be a bit more positive than I was toward the end of the last thread 😂

Love & baby dust to all. Wishing for BFPs for everyone this year 💖

@Alexis7890 how are you doing? Please tell me you still have a BFP 🤞🏻

@Yolo23 are you still in the TWW?

My update - we have had results back from OH's second SA. He has both a low count and low motility, so chance of us conceiving naturally are slim to none... so now we are just waiting for the app in August to see where we go from here. I thought it would bring me some comfort knowing the results, but now I'm not so sure. Think I'm still processing it all.

Love to all 💕

@TinyDancer91 ive just been catching up on here. So sorry to hear all you’re going through. I hope you can take some time to enjoy your birthday and have some comfort knowing that while the appt seems ages away, just think how much time has gone by - you’re on the right track now so fingers crossed.

Im in my TWW after having a 35 day cycle last month which was really bizarre! It seems to have messed my ovulation up too unless I ovulated early. Who knows!? So this month is a complete wild card. Trying not to symptom spot but easier said than done…….

Alexis7890 · 08/04/2023 09:49

@TinyDancer91 im still having positive tests and no more bleeding. Just taking it day by day scared it won’t last but so far so good

if your experience of treatment is like mine then the first appointment is key, from once we had that appointment things went quickly with going through the tests and coming up with a treatment plan so that might start from then? Different areas might work differently, I’m in the Bristol area and it all moved fairly fast.

hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy your birthday as much as you can

TinyDancer91 · 08/04/2023 00:19

@Alexis7890 any updates? I've not been on here for about a week so missed this in weds! Fingers crossed you've got some good news...

Af arrived for on Tuesday. We also received our referral letter on Thursday. First available appointment is 16th August!! It also mentioned that the average wait for treatment is 58 weeks! 😩

Not sure how much I will be online next week as it's my birthday, although I don't really feel like celebrating it this year to be honest...

Bright red blood when I went to the loo so now I have no idea what to think!

Alexis7890 · 05/04/2023 11:03

@Livlaughloathe thank you, my gut feeling is it’s not real because I’ve tested too early but I still hope I’m wrong! Plus I have fully accepted the ivf plan. Plus if it is real my brain is already at no guarantees it will stick etc. fun few days to wait!!

Livlaughloathe · 05/04/2023 10:58

@Alexis7890 oh my goodness, I’ve got everything crossed for you!! ✨🤞🏼The next few days waiting will be a rollercoaster of emotions im sure!

Alexis7890 · 05/04/2023 09:04

@Livlaughloathe thats good that you’ve got it arranged!!

still in the tww with Saturday being 14dpo. I caved and did a FRER today and it was positive…..but the trigger could still be in my system so I’m going to test daily now and see what happens between today and Sunday and if it’s still there Sunday I might actually believe it!

Livlaughloathe · 05/04/2023 08:42

So AF arrived for me with a vengeance! I spoke to the docs yesterday and have rearranged my day 21 progesterone test so now we just wait for that to come around and go from there.

How is everyone doing so far this week?

Livlaughloathe · 01/04/2023 23:16

@TinyDancer91 how frustrating that you keep not getting results for the SA but good that you are now getting the referral!

I’ve seen about the seven seas ones but not looked at the Holland and Barrett. I get so confused seeing all the different ingredients.

@Alexis7890 yes I’m the same I’ve only taken the folic acid. Sorry I’m really naive, what are the side effects? I can imagine a certain level of unpleasantness with pessaries in general though 😩 fingers crossed for you this cycle! But if not, it’s good to know that they will quite quickly get the ball rolling with ivf.

I’m hoping that I can request a call with the same Doctor I spoke to the first time and he will see his own notes on my record about doing the day 21 blood test and just arrange for it this cycle 🤞🏼 I’m currently still spotting on and off, no feeling of my period coming. Never had it this long before so it’s driving me mad.

@BeeLieve86 that news must have been very tough, give yourself the time and space to process it. Once you get past the initial shock, hopefully there are avenues you can discuss and explore. But for now, be kind to yourself and look after each other x

Feliciacat · 01/04/2023 19:59

@BeeLieve86 I am so sad to hear your news. I can’t imagine how that must feel. I think I am being thick here but if you both have low egg and sperm levels; can’t they just extract them? So IVF can still work? I hope so.

My DP and I are not trying this month because he has a prostate infection. My period is due mid April and he should be better by then. We’re getting married in May! Just eloping to Gretna Green. I guess it could be romantic to have a honeymoon baby. I’ve been so naive and was convinced I’d be several months pregnant at the wedding!

IsLarryFromSomething · 01/04/2023 17:17

Not my month this month. Period has come on and, as a bonus, a migraine too. Spending all morning vomiting but not pregnant is not what I had in mind for my day!

Alexis7890 · 31/03/2023 20:27

@BeeLieve86 aww that’s hard for you both. From watching Alex jones making babies they had a guy on there who had no sperm and there was some medication they gave him, it took a while, but it worked and he did produce some and they made a couple of embryos. Could you speak to a doctor/clinic and see what your options could be?

@TinyDancer91 that’s frustrating they don’t have the results but good they will do a referral. When I had our referral it then came with a few more tests and then started quite quickly on ovulation induction meds which I’ve done for 8 cycles now and if no pregnancy this time then they will refer us for ivf to get the ccg to approve funding. So hoping to start ivf in June/July

@Livlaughloathe i don’t take anything other than folic acid but I’m under the fertility clinic and consultant care, I did ask him if he recommended anything and he said no. but obviously every person is different, if you have low progesterone they can give you pessaries which I use for fertility treatment, the side effects suck but they do work if it is a problem. Do you think they can reschedule it quickly for you?

BeeLieve86 · 31/03/2023 16:08

@TinyDancer91 the SA results really shouldn’t be taking that long! My OH had his on March 20th and got a text the next day to make an appt with the doc. His appt was on Wednesday and no sperm was found, so that May be why. I am 💔💔💔 honestly I have gone into such a dark place. Especially as all my testing came back and everything fine except I’ve got an extremely low egg reserve. I hoped he would at least have good results to give me hope but now I just know that we will never conceive naturally, if at all. I am in pieces.

TinyDancer91 · 31/03/2023 15:49

OH's SA was a week & a half ago. Last one took 4 weeks and a chase from the dr! He had an appointment for something unrelated today and asked if they were back yet but they weren't.

I called the dr today and they have agreed to do a referral for us, so now just waiting on next steps. Kind of feel like I have no idea what happens next or what's going on to be quite honest... kind of overwhelmed by everything.

@Livlaughloathe I've tried seven seas trying for a baby and Holland & Barratt his & hers conception. Can't really comment on either tbh. H&B ones smelled & tasted 🤢, seven seas much much smaller & easier to take. Hope you get some answers soon

Livlaughloathe · 31/03/2023 14:39

@TinyDancer91 well hopefully you don’t have long to wait at all then! That would be lovely for your birthday but I completely understand the not trying to get your hopes up. Hope you have something nice planned for it anyway! 🎂 I will keep everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

I think I’ve foolishly let myself get my hopes up too much this month. Maybe as it’s the first one back after a big break, I don’t know. Got a BFN this morning, still spotting. I should know that that doesn’t mean anything as I spotted every month before the mc. My temperatures seem to rise slowly after ovulation as well so all signals towards a low progesterone issue. I might ring the doctors on Monday to push for the 21 day blood test. I was actually scheduled to get it before but then got the bfp. I can’t help but think that low progesterone might have contributed to the loss. So much whizzing round my head right now.

I’ve seen a lot about B vitamins being good for progesterone production. What supplements is everyone taking? I find it a minefield!

Alexis7890 · 30/03/2023 15:13

@TinyDancer91 nhs. I’ve been having ovulation induction through the nhs for a year now so this is the last go, meeting them on the 17th April to get the ivf referral and they said around 6-8 weeks after that we’d be able to start. When was his SA? Our doctor always had my husbands within 2 days of the test being done. I’m thinking I’ll test next Thursday don’t want to go too early but can’t wait until the Saturday!

TinyDancer91 · 30/03/2023 15:03

@Alexis7890 going to hold off until next weds/thurs if I can. Still fighting to get tests etc done as I've only had day 21 bloods done so far and OH is waiting for results of his SA. Are you doing IVF on NHS or private? Hopefully it won't come to that for you though!

OP posts:
Alexis7890 · 30/03/2023 14:51

@TinyDancer91 im in the tww as well, when will you be testing? I’m hoping this is the one, this is our final go before ivf in the summer

TinyDancer91 · 30/03/2023 12:29

@Livlaughloathe they are usually around 28/29 days, but last month was 35! I've had the odd 31 day cycle too.

It's my bday in 2 weeks so I can't help thinking to myself that it would be a great birthday present 😂 but also trying not to get my hopes up...

Hopefully the spotting is a good sign and you get a bfp and a sticky bean this time! Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

OP posts:
Livlaughloathe · 30/03/2023 11:47

How many days are your cycles usually @TinyDancer91 ? Hopefully not too much longer to wait! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

@yolo23 sorry for the late reply! Completely agree, got to keep calm and carry on and all that. We are getting married in Mallorca 😊

I’m a bit confused with what’s going on with my body right now. I’m on CD29 and I’m now on my 7th day of light spotting. Was due on yesterday but since the miscarriage my cycles have varied in length anyway. Tempted to test tomorrow if I don’t come on before. Even just to remove the glimmer of hope I can keep holding on to whilst not knowing. Driving OH mad with my symptom spotting and am I, aren’t I questioning!

TinyDancer91 · 30/03/2023 10:41

How's everyone doing? Where are we all at? I'm currently cd24 of cycle 16. In the TWW but not 100% which day I ovulated this cycle as haven't been testing

OP posts:
Feliciacat · 27/03/2023 22:07

@kofifi sorry to hear it wasn’t your month. As you say, a 32 day cycle is very good compared to 50 or 60 (or even compared to the standard 28)! Hopefully that’ll continue so you’ll have a lot more chances this year and one will be your month!

I’d said I wouldn’t try this month because having a Christmas baby might suck for the child. Due date would be 21st though and that’s if I got to term. I’m too excited to not try. So cycle 4 for me this month. CD8 and no ovulation yet (usual is CD11-14). Fingers crossed!

Kofifi · 27/03/2023 17:48

No luck for me this month. But i had a 32 day cycle which is good for me (can go up to 50-60). Maybe this will be lucky number 3.

Yolo23 · 20/03/2023 22:28

@Livlaughloathe if I had money every time I put off doing something because of the possibility - I’d have a lot of money, and nothing would have been done. That’s the way I look at it!

Its one of those things that you’ll just have to deal with as and when, but for now we must continue on as we would normally I feel! Fingers crossed though 🥰 I keep thinking… if it could just happen now, then we will be ok for all the plans I’ve already made 🤣 where are you getting married?!

@Alexis7890 ohh fingers crossed then - it sounds really positive to be having lots of scans and hopefully everything will trigger as it should for you. Fingers crossed 🤞 x
