Well here we are again, day 1 of new cycle. It’s been over a year now (I’d ducked out of these threads for ages). Finally going to start with some private investigations. But not for a few weeks.

Anyone got any fun ideas for this month?

I’ve got myself in a bit of a muddle so posting here because it feels like the only thing I can do really πŸ™ˆ

Did a test on Sun at 8dpo which was BFN (of course it was) and then started spotting on Monday so thought AF was on its way. Spotting has now stopped and no AF, I have mad heartburn every time I eat and sore boobs and am away for half term until Sunday afternoon with no tests with me.

I have had some degree of pre-period like bleeding every time I’ve been pregnant (3 miscarriages, one pregnancy that resulted in my 3yo), so that’s not out of the ordinary for me. Not sure whether to brave the CenterParcs supermarket for a test (I’m assuming they won’t have FRER if indeed they have anything) or wait until I get home… Gah!

Anyway realise there’s nothing anyone can do and all will become clear in time but just thought I’d share my predicament 🀣

@Jealousofchiliheeler I will always be the first person to tell you if you have any concerns at all to get in contact with your gp. Even if it's nothing at least then you know and the not knowing is what kills you!

Jealousofchiliheeler · 15/02/2023 08:30

@DSP21 I can see something there!

@JD90 that definitely looks like good line progression! I completely know what you mean regarding the daily testing helping to feel more in control. I found I was thinking about things way more before I tested, but now I have my little POAS routine every morning and then I can relax for the rest of the day! That being said, I'm getting a little nervous about a pain I'm getting in my left side, comes and goes but not severe and no bleeding. I have had a lot of bloating so it could also be trapped wind, but if it keeps happening today I'm wondering if I might need to contact GP tomorrow to get an appointment at the early pregnancy unit to check its not an ectopic.....

DSP21 · 15/02/2023 08:09

Hey guys! I’m new here but thought it would be nice to join the club, especially if some of us move on to the Nov Thread!

I am currently 10dpo, had a bfn yesterday (as expected!) but took a frer this morning and not sure if it’s an evap or a line. Anyway just jumping on to join the fun!

Month 1 TTC baby 2!

@JD90 the line looks even clearer today. Congratulations to everyone with your bfp.

15dpo today, CD31. Stopped spotting but that’s not unusual for me for it to start and stop before AF arrives. Just my body playing cruel tricks on me, at least if AF arrives we are on to the next cycle.

JD90 · 15/02/2023 07:58

@Hankthehonk personally I find that daily testing helps with my anxiety and makes me feel more in control. Some people are happy to accept a single test and some aren't, you can only do what feels right for you! As long as you aren't going to bankrupt yourself buying boxes and boxes of expensive tests over the next 2 weeks πŸ˜‰ I'm just doing everything I can to stay calm. Luckily I have a few days off and am back in work at the weekend then on annual leave next week. I also have an incredibly supportive boss so I already told her as I will be having to go for appointments sooner rather than later and if I'm not as on the ball as I should be she knows why and won't hound me about it. Thankfully she has already reassured me that I've got her full support for anything I need and to try and just take it easy and keep her updated as I want to, no pressure no pushing. I actually haven't told my partner yet because I wanted to be certain and the whole situation hit him really really hard previously.

Hankthehonk · 15/02/2023 07:51

@JD90 Thanks, I'm only 4+2 so a long way to go yet. I'm so sorry you went through that.
POAS feels like the only thing we can do to have knowledge of how it's going at this stage so it's really hard to stop! Maybe I just need to accept I'll be doing it every day and that's OK

JD90 · 15/02/2023 07:46

@Hankthehonk from what I've read previously anything up to around 6 weeks is considered a chemical as its the stage prior to anything being visible on an ultrasound so you have the hormone causing the chemical reaction of a positive test but no visible pregnancy. My previous pregnancy I told myself I'd stop testing after a few days positive tests but did everyday/every other day up until it went wrong. I already had suspicions something wasn't okay as there was little to no progression but definitely wasn't expecting the outcome I ended up with!

Hankthehonk · 15/02/2023 07:37

Great lines congratulations @Soda123x And @JD90 !
I'm 13dpo now and line was really strong this morning, I should probably stop testing now for a few days...but I am pretty sure in the morning I won't be able to stop myself. πŸ™ƒ

When would I be out of the woods for a chemical? Or is that a daft question

JD90 · 15/02/2023 07:26

How's everyone holding up today? I have yet again been awake since 3am πŸ˜ͺ so really hoping for a peaceful morning school run with the teenager... never gonna happen as she is having her own struggles atm.
Couldn't find any FRER yesterday at all, but did another easy@home when I woke up and it is definitely more obvious with proper pink colour to it today (as with all tests looks much better in person) 🀞so hopefully things are going in the right direction this time...

@JD90 it is talked about an awful lot. I think for me it used to be that glimmer of hope. However I have always had irregular periods and can be really light or heavy. Lasting only a day or over a week. I don’t have a lot to go on πŸ™ƒ

@Jealousofchiliheeler I thought I had a period when I was pregnant with my daughter. About a week later sore boobs and horrendous sickness made me test. Again with my miscarriage last year it was the sickness that made me test, which obviously didn’t end well. But I suppose AF/bleeding isn’t something I can go solely by πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Hummusanddipdip · 14/02/2023 16:06

Because I caught my ovulation in the middle of the day I though 8/9 dpo (not 100% sure which because app and tests were different) I'd do a test mid day and see what happens, nothing. I've never tested early so I'm not giving up hope yet. Period due Sunday.

Soda123x · 14/02/2023 15:13

@LuckyYou13 haha glad someone understands if I try explaining that to my husband he thinks I've gone crackers πŸ˜…
🀞 your BFP comes soon xx

JD90 · 14/02/2023 15:03

Urgh my god I am effing exhausted this afternoon I just want to go to bed. Probably because after I did a test at like 3.30am when I couldn't sleep I couldn't get back to sleep again πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ definitely feeling the POAS addiction over here too @Hankthehonk @Jealousofchiliheeler

LuckyYou13 · 14/02/2023 14:51

@Soda123x yes makes sense haha πŸ˜„ I have irregular cycle lengths too and it makes it so hard to really know where you're at! I had positive OPK 2 days after EWCM and then ov pain the morning after that so it's all suh a guessing game, but glad to hear these stories of BFPs to give me hope 😊

Soda123x · 14/02/2023 14:45

@LuckyYou13 thank you. I'm not 100% sure as I think (from pains & EWCM etc) I may have O on 30th Jan but my clue app says 4th Feb (I have cycles 28-34 days). We DTD around both dates so could be anywhere around then lol. Making me 10-15 DPO. I think more likely to be nearer the 15 but, I don't do O sticks or temps as we was taking quote a relaxed approach. Hope that makes sense πŸ™ˆ xx

LuckyYou13 · 14/02/2023 14:36

@winterbabyrose I am 9dpo today. Said I wouldn't test till AF due on Sunday but I did test yesterday and today (both BFN) and I've kind of accepted I will likely test every day now as I have loads of cheap tests in the cupboard πŸ˜‚ I

I don't feel discouraged at all just yet though, I know it's so early and I didn't get a bfp in my last pregnancy till 15dpo (though that sadly ended in mmc in December). Staying positive and hope you are too. Fingers crossed for BFP for us both in a few days 🀞🏻

Congratulations @Soda123x ! Do you know how many dpo you are? Looks strong line 😍

Twoinapod · 14/02/2023 14:25

@winterbabyrose i started testing at 9dpo. Told myself everyday I wouldn’t test again til AF but still tested everyday. Did one yesterday morning at 11dpo and was negative. Tried another last night and got my BFP. Fingers crossed 🀞 for you

Jealousofchiliheeler · 14/02/2023 14:22

@Soda123x that's a great line, congratulations! Hope you don't feel too rough with the Covid!

@Hankthehonk swimming is a good idea, I do actually have a pool nearby, but it's fitting it in time wise, I can only manage an hour in total to exercise, shower and dress before work. Maybe if I get further on though (still can't say when!) But running has the advantage of being free and I like being in the open air. Will keep at it for now, my boobs are getting sore too but so far if I strap them down it's ok! I might look at some pregnancy specific exercise programs too....

winterbabyrose · 14/02/2023 13:54

Anyone else the same as me at the moment? Approx 9dpo, with AF due on Monday. Did a test yesterday which was BFN but wasn't really expecting anything anyway as it was so so early. Just waiting out this next week and will test on Tuesday morning if AF doesn't arrive on Monday!

Soda123x · 14/02/2023 13:44

Congratulations to all the others with BFPs ❀And still got my 🀞 for everyone else still waiting xx

Soda123x · 14/02/2023 13:40

So ..... I've been really really patient not testing until today as I can have cycles anywhere from 28-34 days. Today I am CD30.
I know it is still very early and I have also tested positive for Covid yesterday πŸ™ˆ (still have to test due to work etc..) I'm not poorly with it, just a sore throat 🀞 this little bean sticks xx

PS ive got a little bit or reassurance for now as this is quite a strong line to say not FMU. I had literally been to the loo like 2hrs previous xx

Hankthehonk · 14/02/2023 13:34

@Jealousofchiliheeler I'm glad it's not just me! I'm a bit more anxious because I have found out earlier this time so it feels more fragile I guess? I was over 5 weeks pregnant when I realised with DD and I didn't do much testing, just two on the day I found out and it was super clear.

I don't think I'll be running any more just because my boobs are SO sore when I do, park run on Saturday felt like a mistake (although I did manage it). I'm hoping to go to the gym a couple of times this week to do the bike instead just to keep my fitness up, as I've been working quite hard to improve it recently - but I have no idea where I'll find the energy for the gym after work and toddler dinnertime...
Good for you keeping going if you can! I'd love to go swimming but it's a bit of a hassle as there isn't a pool very near us. If the pregnancy progresses I'll make the effort though, last time around I couldn't swim with everything being shut in the pandemic, and I craved that feeling of weightlessness!

Jealousofchiliheeler · 14/02/2023 13:07

@Hankthehonk I've also become a massive POAS addict as well! Don't remember being like this in my first pregnancy but previous chemical pregnancy has definitely made me more anxious this time, and the knowledge that I'm that much older.
Are you still managing to run? I am still trying to keep going but my legs just immediately feel like they've got no strength at all, I can still keep going but very slow and less time. I'd like keep going if I can, only recently got my pelvic floor back to a state where it was feasible!
