Jeddah so glad you got your referal hope it gives you some answers and you dont have to wait too long for your appointment.
Hester iam not shocked but hope that you didnt tell us because you were worried that we would be shocked. we are all still here with the same agenda regardless of our choice of partners.
Anyway still no af for me so i dont want to get my hopes up. but feeling alittle crampy and sick dreamed last night that i was in labour and it was a breeze new i was dreaming then expected to wake this morning with af but nothing Shock MIL told me yesterday that she dreamed that i was pg and i had a girl.

Hester - donor is a friend. Actually, his wife is a friend from past 3 years, but all four of us get on really well. They have answered every single question we ask about what they want with 'its your baby'!, so are completely amazing. They see it as a very biological thing. Similar values, and similar taste in music, which seems to help! We don't believe in secrecy, so it will be known that he is biological father, but won't have a dad role.

Having read up on other donor experiences I was terrified of a known donor. But it seems like every donor situation is different, this feels right for us, but I could't think of how else we'd do it. So in terms of us finding this donor, it just feels like luck, again. But it gives you faith in humanity when people can be so generous.

Hope your donor situation is good for you?
k

Sorry Jingleballs - just read last message ! Perhaps no such luck for you!

marinda · 08/12/2004 20:30

Gosh this thread moves fast - Hester - you brave lass - special endorsement from me !!!!!!!
I have the EWCM at the moment so chasing poor DH around the house - trying to BD BEFORE OV as you suggested Hester - certainly IS a hard life. Poor DH feels quite threatened by whole process !! Seem to feel knackered at mo - have DS's virus - he has finally recovered ! No sign of Becki yet!
Tra all !
Jinleballs - just read when your DH will be back - how does this fit with your OV ? Any hope ?

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 20:23

DH def back on 13th jan (well if it changes from that we won't know until a week b4 he flys back) so off to check my dates, but i'm sure i'll be having a visit from AF that week!

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 20:21

urghhhh a scouser?? (well now i'm shocked!) :o only joking, it's not ur fault hon! LMAO!

jeddah · 08/12/2004 20:19

god just read my previous post...I sound like a right sarcastic screwed up cow!...I'm not really girls....5ft nothing red haired scouser with a bit of a foul mouth when angry or pissed!!!!

jeddah · 08/12/2004 20:16

I am a midwife and now practising as a Health Visitor (did my degree in 2oo2).

Must dash....off to analyse the test results that we got for the quack!

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 20:16

I don't know if I could do that myself, (having watched the prog on Dis health) it looks bloody hard work!

hester · 08/12/2004 19:51

I'm in management (working with midwives), jedds is a midwife.

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 19:48

ah well thats a plus, what is it u both do within the NHS?

hester · 08/12/2004 19:47

You get to cuddle babies Smile

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 19:38

there must be other perks surely? (looks hopful there are some...)... those lovely green gowns?

hester · 08/12/2004 19:34

Thanks all Grin and specially motherinfestivemood for the endorsement! Grin Grin

jedds, so glad you have finally got movement, but how agonising to still not have that clomid in your paw...

Can't imagine why you think you get no perks in the NHS, though. Think of all those babywipes and iron tonics they give away at RCM conferences - now, that's living Grin

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 19:34

relieved for the referal, and what with ur contacts... u should be able to get an app no probs, and beat the waiting lists! :o Hopefully they'll speed things up a bit given ur ages etc..

In the mean while thou, nothing to do apart from loads a BD! :o he he, god it's a hard life! he he.

Fingers crossed the sec gives u some good answers. Will u ring tomorrow?

jeddah · 08/12/2004 19:30

Jingleballs! thanks for the thought!

Went for 2nd swimmers test! and it was same as th first....slightly down on motility!

I demanded clomid and she said that GPs do not prescribe it (its not safe practise) a gynae must do that after we have been checked out for tube probs etc etc etc.....

So I told her to refer us.....I was then a bit happier as she gave me the Gynae'secretary's number in the LGI (LEEDS GENERAL INFIRMARY) for me to have a chat to her.......me working in the profession and all that.....about the only bloody perk I ever would have had, after working for the NHS for 20yrs! (except a break to KSA for some dosh!)

I also demanded our results print outs all my hormones and dh swimmers........she reluctantly gave them to me!!!!!!!! bloody state of her...with 2 lovely boys and me despirate at 41!!!!

so that is that....don't know how I feel relieved for referral!.....or upset as something wrong??????

jingleballs · 08/12/2004 19:24

Jeddah how did u get on?

jeddah · 08/12/2004 19:21

Bloody hell hester! you have finally come out! you brave sister!

SweetFudge · 08/12/2004 19:11

About Hester, I mean.

SweetFudge · 08/12/2004 19:10

I second that! Smile

oopsanta · 08/12/2004 19:08

I just dropped in to see what was going on here.
WOW some stories. I'm kindof impressed with the whole home insem thing- I'm so glad it has wprked for you feelingvlucky. good for you!
Hester, can't imagine it will shock anyone here, I do believe that most people on this site are guardian readers, so will be cool.
WHat a bunch of pople, mn is great, there's the 17yr old who is worried about being too young for everyone else, and the 40yr olds all of human life is here.
Warms me up oon a cold day to think that we can all get on so well.
Good luck to all this month- I'm still pg I think and very very tired.

RudyDudy · 08/12/2004 19:07

thanks (as ever Grin) for the info hester - now I'm more confused than ever and absolutely no idea whether we BD'd anywhere near the right time but hey ho - on with the waiting game....

can't chat tonight - off to Bridget Jones. No doubt catch up tomorrow.
