Do you always avoid your fertile window or not and how long have you been practising the method for?

And has anyone ever had a slip up?

Surely none of that stuff was because of their method of contraception??

I didn’t say it was.

I have a 30 year old niece due to her parents using the Russian roulette method of contraception. Mum had pre eclampsia and an emergency section, niece diagnosed on the spectrum, the parents marriage broke up as a result, and the father hardly saw her again. Unfortunately she cannot be without her mother or a carer, father has no interest whatsoever, and mum is petrified of dying and leaving her.
So yes, people slip up.

It's not a method, it's an old joke:
What do you call people who use the withdrawal method?

I ended up at BPAS. It's not a good idea.

What’s that?

i got the new pregnant like this too. You could use natural cycles. I used this method when we knew we wanted a second but weren’t actively trying.

Also tried this method and voila - was pregnant within 2 months (avoiding my fertile window)

Justwingit66 · 13/12/2022 21:34

I did this. Currently feeding my six week old! Didn’t have sex during the fertile window. Ovulated very early when I had covid and voila!

MidwifeAMA · 13/12/2022 21:34

Many many beautiful babies will testify to this being a fairly unreliable method of you are fertile.
