Looking for TTC buddies! (November/December 2022)

Hi all,

I don't have any friends who are TTC and I feel like I need a little support group out with my other half. There are loads of threads here but they are so long, I didn't know where to start so thought I'd create a new thread.

I'm 33, TTC baby number 1 (Edinburgh). I'm currently on cycle 5, just about to enter my fertile window on CD 11. I had my copper coil removed in July this year and I am tracking along with OPKs. I seem to be ovulating with the dark positive line, although a little later on day 18 -19. I'm hoping to see my ovulation come forward a bit.

How is everyone getting on? I am overall very positive and can't wait to get a BFP. I'm still getting used to the lingo!

Cara

@CaraLouLou really? This was before it was dry definitely, as it was about 3 mins after I’d done it and was about to chuck it in the bin! Like I say I’ve only ever had clear bfn’s so I’ve never looked twice at a test to get an indent 😂

So frer update. I’ve used one the evening and I swear I saw the faintest of faint lines. Tests have literally never caught my eye because they’ve always been a stark white negative but this one made me double take! Absolute squinter though so I’ll test again tomorrow and see. FRERs are notorious for evaps so probably just that… I’ll keep you posted!

Oh that is interesting! I thought evap lines came after the test has dried out but you never know. Maybe test again with stronger morning pee? Fingers crossed for you 💕

10DPO and symptoms are worse if anything! No bfp though. I have only used cheapies so going to buy a pack of frers and use one now and then one if period doesn’t arrive. Hopefully start seeing some bfps soon!

@lemonyfox I always knew I wanted a 3 year age gap and I would love another autumn born baby! Not that I can count my chickens😅.

Were you waiting until your firstborn was 2? There's no way I could have done a two year age gap. My DS is a handful!

I know what you mean, 2yr olds are a handful and need so much attention, I don't know how I'd cope right now with a newborn and a baby. Hats off to people with two under two!

A 3yr age gap always seemed nice to us too, though for medical reasons after my c-section I was advised to wait at least 2 years. Which is probably for the best because otherwise I would have had a wild broody month ages ago and thought fuck it, let's just do it now 😂 so I'm glad we've waited in the end.

Nic2908 · 01/12/2022 14:07

@WineCap oh god, my little boy is two this month and I’m 8dpo. He’s a handful too!! I’m 36 though and didn’t want to wait much longer and it seemed now or never!! Baby dust to you all. Can’t wait to see come more positives

@Tartanhaggis I know what you mean with some months being write-offs. I travel a lot with work and I have missed ovulation because of it, it can be so frustrating! Baby dust to you!

@Twinklebell7 nice to meet you! I hadn't heard about SMEP but I'll look into this!

Thankyou and baby dust to you too x

@Tartanhaggis I think we’re exactly the same cd, cd16 for me today, peak on cb digi yesterday cd15, we’re trying the SMEP for the first time this month so hoping we get the same success that I keep reading about it online!

Hi 😊. Woo a cycle buddy lol. Iv never heard of SMEP il have to have a Google at that x

SarahEvans1996 · 30/11/2022 21:06

@CaraLouLou
Thankyou🥰 I know some people do get their positives quite early! With both my pregnancies I didn't take my first test until I was a few days late as we weren't tracking anything then, we just weren't preventing it happening, so I've never actually taken an early test and been pregnant I've always had dye sealers on the first test because I've taken them later! I was thinking about buying the easy@home strips as you get like 20 in the box, but I'm going to go out and get a FR tomorrow and just see what that say 🤞 xx

SarahEvans1996 · 30/11/2022 21:02

@L92

Were pretty much cycle twins! I will test early, I'm going out tomorrow to buy some, and I'm only going to do the one! And then just wait till next week to see if AF shows up!

I've been so under the weather this week, Monday I was so exhausted and felt nauseated in the morning, and had a headache! I then went on to be really congested but it's not a cold, it's weird, then yesterday I was still having the same congestion symptom, along with slight cramps, the cramps I had about the same time last cycle so not reading too much into them, no sore boobs though :( which I did have in both my pregnancies, but didnt test with them till after a missed period, today I've also had an on of dull cramp right at the top of my leg on the inside of my thigh, I have no idea what it is😂

I don't test for ovulation I just go by my apps prediction, so if this cycle wasn't it I'm going to buy some ovulation test to see what next cycle says about my ovulation to see exactly when I'm ovulating.

Let me know if you test early!!!

I'm in a similar situation to @lemonyfox, I'm 32 and TTC #2 from December. I should ovulate around Christmas - I'm really excited to start TTC!

My firstborn DS has just turned 2.

Oooo how exciting! I have a 2yr old too and I just don't know where the time went. Have you been waiting until they turned two before trying, or is the time just right now anyway?

I'm due to ovulate on NYE this year 🎉 which in a weird way is nice because it means the week between Christmas and NY is my fertile period and we're both off work!

@CaraLouLou deffo do, it’s a little bit of a military operation and leaves the sexiness at the door but we’ve been half heartedly trying for ages on and off so we thought we’d really give it a go for a few months, it stands for sperm meets egg plan with the idea that you maximise your chances by getting plenty of stuff up there lol sorry that’s a bit gross 😂 we’ve done the deed in cd 8, 10, 12, 14, 15 leaving us tonight and tomorrow before a break and then final try on Friday. What cd are you now, how are you feeling?

I’ll join! 29 TTC #1 & I’m 6DPO cycle 4. Having all sorts of symptoms but just trying to ignore! Maybe test weds-Fri this week 😬

Hey! Hope you're well. Any more symptoms? 🙂

Wow didn't expect so many replies! I don't normally take this long to reply, just a few busy days with work.

@DandelionPockets I have been using premom ovulation sticks, just cheapies on Amazon. The good news is I am ovulating but it's quite late in the cycle, CD 17-19 ish. I'm hoping over the coming months I'll ovulate a little earlier.

I'm taking a few different vitamins! Folate, Vitamin D, a vitamin B complex and omega fatty acids. My other half is also taking coenzyme q10. I have a friend who was TTC and ended up seeing a specialist and they highly recommended it for male fertility!

It's really lovely to have so many people on here, I am an open book so happy to answer pretty much anything on my journey so far.

@SarahEvans1996 so sorry to hear of your miscarriage 💕 - sending lots of positive thoughts your way! In terms of testing I know a lot of my pals who are pregnant used to test 6 days before AF was due but everyone is different. I have been testing from 8 DPO and if it's negative it helps take my mind off it and then I see if AF arrives. It is disappointing getting the negative but I find it's better than a horrible wait and questioning every single niggle. I then wait and if AF is even a tad late I test again. I quite often end up testing every other day in the lead up to AF to be honest, the little strips are cheap enough for me to go a bit crazy.

Hello! Can I join please. I am ttc baby number 2. I’m on my 4th cycle after a miscarriage. Currently testing with clear blue to see when I ovulate…day number 11 and I’m having flashing smiley so hopefully will ovulate soon. Last cycle ovulated on day 11.

Hopefully this month will be our month!

L92 · 30/11/2022 16:30

@SarahEvans1996 your af is one day before me ! I’m also very bad when it comes to symptom checking it can be an anxious wait!

will you do an early test ? I’m so tempted to do one on Saturday even though I know it’s probably too early ! I have uncomfortable cramping with some pelvic ache the last couple days hard to tell if it’s my. Ish getting ready for at or implantation! It’s been 8 years since my last pregnancy so it’s like starting all over again!

Hi girls, jumping in!

I'm 26, Were ttc baby #3,

We have a 4 year old daughter, second sadly had a miscarriage in July 💔 we started trying again so this will be our 5th cycle, I'm currently 8dpo, and period is due on the 7th of Dec so nearly at that point!
I symptom spot so badly 😩 last month I drove myself crazy with it and told myself I wouldn't this month, but here we are symptoms spotting 🙄.
I've been so run down this week with a few different symptoms than last cycle so maybe🙏 but I'm not hopeful for this cycle, I refuse to buy any tests till the weekend as last month I tested everyday from this point onwards!
Have any of you had any symptoms today?
Baby dust to us all and my fingers are crossed for you girls! Xx

Tartanhaggis · 30/11/2022 03:30

Hi all just marking my spot here. I'm on cd16. DTD cd 14/15 hoping I'm in with a chance this month. We have been trying for 10 months now but alot of that time we've had to write off due to my partners ongoing health condition. Feels good to be back In with a chance 😊. Good luck everyone x

DandelionPockets · 29/11/2022 15:13

How's everyone doing?
I'm on CD8 so building up energy for lots of DTD in the next 2 weeks by eating an entire pack of biscuits...😅

Is anyone taking any supplements other than folic acid? Started on vit d because it's winter and heard that can help with TTC too...

L92 · 28/11/2022 20:39

Currently 5 days dpo ! Light cramping and slightly nauseous af due on dec 8th ! Only got mirena out on Nov 8th and had first period nov 10th . Ovulation peaked on 23rd nov!
we have an 8yr old at home !

we were told we could ttc straight away so I think I’ll be completely shocked if it has actually happens first time round!
