Hi everyone! Thought I’d start this thread to see what interest there was 🥰 I’m only today BFP (digital) but already chatted with so many others who are the same this month and feeling a bit anx about the next few weeks (with it being so early). I don’t want to fill up the other threads so thought this may be helpful especially because while sometimes encouraging, I also know how heart breaking it can be when there are so many announcements. So I’ll start us off and hope someone comments 🤣 I’m 30 - first baby (weird not to say TTC) 13 dpo partner doesn’t know yet so already busy planning how to tell him over the weekend 🫣🥰 he’s currently out watching the footie!

according to the flo app i was due friday and now i'm officially 2 days late did a test and it was negative - fingers and toes crossed for a BFP soon cause this will be my last shot of having a baby with my husband ( kids older different BD) we have been trying 5 years and this is the first time flo has told me to test cause I'm late late …. So anxious and nervous i don't know when to test again been 17 years since I've had to do this

Yeah I think if nothing is working in 2-3 months time I’ll have to branch out to using OPKs. I would probably do the same as you and base it loosely around the app prediction just to see. Tbh I did use the cheap sticks a little in my first month but didn’t really know what I was doing properly so stopped.. and still managed to fall pregnant even though it ended in the chemical. So I know around those two weeks we were right somewhere 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Ah a cabin sounds lush! 🤩 you will have the best time. And yes fingers crossed AF goes away before then!! My app is saying I should test on 22nd Jan - WHY is that so far away 😩 xx

well I have a little bit of news… my partner surprised me on NYE and proposed at midnight while we were away so that was lovely 🥰🥳✨💍 a nice little distraction to all this TTC too while we look to sell our house, and plan a wedding for 2024 😅😂

Baby making is about to get more complicated 🤣 but we can’t put our lives on hold and will continue to plan for the future without a babba, and hope that everything has to change because of one! That’s how I choose to live through this journey 😊

I hope you had a lovely NYE too! Oh god, I haven’t even checked my app yet but from memory I think DTD was this weekend - I totally relate with the sticks I had NO idea what I was doing when using them, that’s why I loved the clear blue digital! Definitely made life easier… will have to start it towards the end of this week. I’ve a smear weds which has been hard to plan as I kept rearranging due to timing being a bit awks in between AF and then had to cancel due to BFP… hoping it’ll all be ok as I had abnormal cells last year and had to have a biopsy so this is the next worry on my mind for this month 🤣🙈 there’s always something isn’t there lol! Xx

It’s been going better with being off work.. feels much more relaxed than having to get it over with counting how many hours of sleep I have left afterwards! 🤣 I’m just joking.. it’s not that bad.. but definitely more enjoyable being off work and not so tired ☺️

Ahhh hopefully AF clears up quickly for you! I’m hoping dtd every other day will have us covered for this month! I really don’t want to get into ovulation testing if I can help it cos I know I’ll get obsessed. But keep thinking am
I naive to think the app has it right.. which is why I’m hoping dtd a few days before and after the predicted fertile window might have us covered 🤞🏼

I think we are just going for a meal on NYE and a few quiet drinks. What about you? X

@Laul89 hahah totally relate to this! On holiday it seemed so much more natural and there were SOOO many hours in the day 😅😂 work is so inconvenient at this point in life 🤣

If I’m honest, the fact I used the digital ovulation test by clear blue or something just the once, and then had a positive… it makes me realise the previous months my app hasn’t been accurate although if we were DTD every other day I’d be like yourself and just have faith! With my partner working 12 hourly day/night shifts prior to now, that hasn’t been possible. I’ll be using the ovulation test again this month - but I base it around the predictions on the app anyway to know when roughly to test. The main difference last time I think was DTD the day before ovulation and the day OF ovulation. So I will need to up my game again then 😅😆

A quiet NYE sounds nice! We’re off to a little cabin for a few nights in West Wales - hoping AF does one so we can start getting into the NY spirit 😂🎉

We have only been trying since October! We were on honeymoon then and weren’t careful.. but started ‘properly’ trying in November I’d say which is when I had the chemical. So early days for us. The last time I mentioned short/light periods to a nurse she said it was nothing to worry about 🤷🏻‍♀️ so hoping all is ok!

CD10 for me now and the baby dancing has started again 🤣 hoping to do it every other day until the end of next week! I’ve also bought some preseed to try and help 🙈🤣

Any news on your end?! x

But hoping for a positive start to 2023 and I certainly feel more prepared this time for everything to come - from being confident about ovulation, when to DTD, to testing… crazy how much it seems you have to learn about everything to stand a chance of a BFP 🤣

I’m feeling relatively ok about things at the moment. AF due on Xmas day which is a bit awkward but trying to hold out and not test since the chemical last month. I have noticed a few twinges and I’m super bloated today which isn’t a great feeling so having a few symptoms but nowhere near the ones I had last month. I’m unsure whether that’s in turn a good thing though as my body was rejecting the embryo last month - I just don’t know if it’s better to experience them as crazy as I did or not 😂 I had everything from mood swings to feeling sick to bloating to twinges to severe headaches and exhaustion. It was rediculous!

I’ve been trying in totality for 3 years but only 1 with my current partner (I was with my ex for almost 10 years) - I’m glad it never happened then but hindsight is a wonderful thing! I have endometriosis but had an operation a year or two ago so the chemical was positive in some ways. My endo made my ovary attach to the lining of my womb so assuming that we got a bit closer means surgery has helped perhaps!?

oh wow 3 day periods! That does seem short although mine are a bit everywhere so used to be 10 days and now range around 5 days roughly. Have you any appts to see the Dr or a specialist anytime soon? How long have you been trying xx

I completely understand and I think that's why I'm like do I even bother testing. If it wasn't for all the other things I'm feeling I don't think I would just based on the 'period' but I suppose there is no harm in testing just to rule it out.

I Started what I thought was a period on Friday morning and by Sunday Morning it had completely stopped. I have come off the pill about 6 weeks ago so I understand it could be that however even when I did get periods they were ALWAYS 5 days and the first two days very heavy and the last 3 was always light.
This time don't get me wrong there was red, the first day (Friday) it was like light to medium flow, red in the toilet but whenever I wiped it was pink and brown. Saturday it was a lot lighter , still red at times but a lot more pink and Sunday morning it was purely brown and a tad mucus as well. By the afternoon nothing at all.
The day after I had sharp shooting pains in my right side- not painful as such but just really uncomfortable. And they were on and off from afternoon to evening. Since then my nipples have felt like they're stinging and I've been having like a bubbling feeling in my stomach-almost like when you're super hungry but I'm definitely not hungry, if anything I can't stop eating. And today especially I've had the bubbly wishy washy feeling and felt really nauseous.

I didn't have regular cycles on the pill so I don't have anything to go by really... do you think I should test or am I overthinking it all?

Hiya! It’s really hard to say in my opinion however I know when I came off the pill a while back, my periods were all completely messed up - I didn’t have one for a while, then it was just a few days and at one point I seemed to be AF for 6-8 weeks! It was insane.

what I would say is if you have the other symptoms to match, there’s no harm in taking a test! You can order batches of little strip ones on Amazon which I find useful for queries like this. So I’d do that before investing in a digital - keep those for when you’re more certain in my opinion as they can be quite expensive :) best of luck x

Ah I know it’s so disappointing when you see AF has arrived isn’t it 😢 and those last few days counting down are just torture! How are you feeling about this cycle? How long have you been ttc? Fingers crossed your partners sperm test goes well 🤞🏼

I was due AF 21st… it arrived yesterday morning 😢 I felt a little sickly one night last week and my boobs were sore at the weekend which rarely happens before AF but I woke up yday and it had arrived 2 days early. The only positive is I will be able to enjoy Christmas with alcohol because I literally don’t know how I was going to avoid drinking without my friends getting suspicious 🤣 so onwards and upwards to the next cycle, app predicts I’ll be in my fertile window early January so I think that’ll come quick ☺️

sorry to hear about AF arriving.. ugh everytime I hear it, I get so frustrated for people, especially when I see SO many announcements. It’s so difficult for people. I’m quite pragmatic luckily so just taking it as it comes at the moment.. partner is awaiting a sperm test which came around very quickly! I’ve got the odd symptom but having had so many last month and it been a BFP, I can’t help but compare - that being said, I was really unwell at one point and severely tired so I’m guessing that wasn’t really normal. I had every symptom under the sun so hoping less symptoms may be better so it sticks!? Haha I don’t know. Just praying for Jan/Feb to be our month! Xx

Hello @Laul89 so sorry for the late reply! Things were crazy in the lead up to holiday and this week I’ve battled with jet lag and festive organising 😂 im failing on both at the moment but the plus side is that I’ve finally wrote Christmas cards 👀🌲 better almost late than never 🤣

How are you getting on? My AF is due on Xmas day - the joys! Yours is 23rd isn’t it? Amy symptoms of a BFP?? xx

Isn’t it funny how things just work out for the better. It seems really reassuring for you that you managed to fall pregnant despite the endo and possibility of IVF though! 🤞🏼

Ahh it would be amazing, I’m going to test the 23rd if AF hasn’t arrived and would love to tell my parents on Christmas Day but I’d still be very worried it wasn’t real. I’d be 4 days late by the 25th 😬 Constantly getting ahead of myself as usual 🤪🤣

Come Saturday you’re gonna be very relaxed so you never know… a holiday conception may be on the cards 🤞🏼✨

lol getting busy before fertile window DEFINITELY helped us too. We done it every other and tracked using digital to be sure to do it the day of. Being on holiday, I’m hoping it’s less of a deed and more of an exciting afternoon activity 😂🤣
aww I know, but jumping ahead of yourself can be hopeful so I’m all for it aslong as you stay grounded and accept the possibility of what may not happen - I’m AF on the 26th sooo… eeek! Hopeful.
After my situation, I think I’d be too wary now of telling parents until I’d hd a scan - which would be REDICULOUSLY hard as we’re so close but I’d also want to save them the constant worry too 🫣 this bloody process 😂

Yeah I agree and that’s one thing my husband said… at least we know it can happen and this was our first month trying so I do feel pretty lucky even though it ended badly! I’ll be the same, I won’t want to tell my parents cos I’ll be so scared it’s not real! And I would normally definitely tell them before the 12 week scan!!

Ohhh a proposal would be lovely! 🥰 please keep me updated! It would be a very welcome distraction I agree. We have put off ttc for such a long time as we booked our wedding in early 2019 for summer 2020… due to the dreaded covid we only ended up getting married in July this year! So ttc has been a long time coming and now seems to be all I can think of 🙈 how long have you been trying? Sorry if you’ve already said and I’ve missed it!

I’m on CD11 right now.. approaching my fertile week so ready to start again 🤣 AF is due on 21st December 😬🥺

@Laul89 definitely! To be honest it was the only month (bar one potentially) where it could have happened so I’m fairly similar to you in that regard. You have to take a positive out of it in some way (excuse the pun 🤣)

ah I will let you know 🤞 so I came off the pill officially in July. My story is a little complex in the sense that I was with my ex for almost 10 years and we were trying for around 2 - with ZERO joy. I knew I had endo deep down but had to wait for operations to diagnose etc.. in the meantime we were referred to IVF but relationship broke down. He wasn’t the right person in the end though so it was all meant to be 🥰

My partner I’m with now, he’s been so great. I had endo diagnosed early in our relationship and had an op to treat it but I was dubious whether it worked having been told I’d likely need IVF in future… long story short I didn’t want to rush in to anything so we’ve been together 2.5 years and trying officially since Aug ☺️

eeeek fertile week - ready to peak 😂 best get BD lol. birthday month is exciting - maybe it’ll be a double whammy! Xmas Presie and birthday Presie wrapped in one. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you 🥳❤️✨

Ah bless you, but I’m glad it’s going to be over & done with for your hols! I usually have quite light periods so I expected this one to be heavier but it just felt normal, if not a little shorter/lighter tbh!

Yeah it helped me feel a bit better when I realised how common it was but also to know that people go on to have completely normal pregnancies afterwards is a relief.
This month really is going to drag though 😩🙈

@Laul89 thank you! Yeah it was the same for me actually, I had a few pains yesterday however it wasn’t half as bad as I am normally with my endo. It’s been far heavier today but no cramps so I’m guessing I’ll be back up and running ready for holidays (thank god)…
I’m definitely more hopeful about the months ahead now I sort of know something is possible 🤣 I’d be an anxious wreck until a scan mind you if I got lucky again…
Im hoping my parnter proposes on this holiday (date I say it), I noticed my ring went missing the other week and it’s mysteriously returned 🤨🧐 that would be a really nice distraction, and I don’t want to jump too far ahead of myself but my next Cycle starts on 26th December 😬 roughly - it may be a bit messed up in fairness but I’m excited for the next few months. When’s your next cycle? Are you all organised for Christmas!? Again helpful to have distractions I find X

Ah bless you, but I’m glad it’s going to be over & done with for your hols! I usually have quite light periods so I expected this one to be heavier but it just felt normal, if not a little shorter/lighter tbh!

Yeah it helped me feel a bit better when I realised how common it was but also to know that people go on to have completely normal pregnancies afterwards is a relief.
This month really is going to drag though 😩🙈

Oh I know what you mean, the week before a holiday is always so hectic isn’t it, but it’ll all be worth it when you’re there relaxing! I’m doing well thank you, looking forward to this cycle and crossing my fingers all goes well! 😬🤞🏼 AF is due 21st December and I’m due to go on a night out on the 23rd so aware I’m going to probably have to test that morning if no AF…. I feel scared to test now though and not sure I’ll believe it’s actually happening after last time 🥴 x

yes! I’ve battled so many AF pains and heavy bleeding today but I’m pleased in some ways because it means it’ll be done before holibobs. I can’t wait now - it’s very much needed after this cycle.

oooh yes I know the feeling now unfortunately… I guess you have to still have faith that while unfortunately it can happen.. sometimes it doesn’t! I’m not sure what the odds are but understanding 1 in 8 ends like this helped me a bit. I’m just frustrated I tested early but I had to as I was due a smear that morning 🙃 something to look forward to in January now lol!
