Sorry everyone, I’m cross posting- no idea what I’m posting where, and it’s so hard to keep up!

im 9dpo and woke up with heartburn- which I never get… could it be a sign?

FlyOnTheWall89 · 06/07/2023 18:55

@Tinkerbell098 oh my goodness, nearly the home straight. I feel that has totally flown by and being pregnant felt like it last forever for me. So excited for you!!!

@Koalie exciting! Enjoy Cornwall and some time with your partner! That's probably the one thing I'd say to expectant parents now is really the 1:1 time because everything becomes about the baby when they're here and there is limited time for you as a couple. Unless your partner has amazing leave which would probs help!

My little girlie is 18 weeks old can you believe it. She's such a dreamboat and completely adorable and totally exhausting all in one. XxxX

Koalie · 05/07/2023 15:40

@Tinkerbell098 Haha!! oh how lovely 🥰 thank you so much xx

missmoosh · 05/07/2023 15:38

Hi! Do you mind if I join? Onto cycle 13 now and I am feeling so down about it all...

Waiting for my appointment with nhs gynaecologist, but already had lap&dye, day 21 blood tests and SA which all are normal. So not sure what the next steps will be.

I just want to be a mum!!! Sorry whine over 🫠

Tinkerbell098 · 05/07/2023 15:38

@Koalie aww what a lovely idea! Well done for not opening that envelope! I was so eager to know that I went on the nub theory groups right after my 12 week scan. We are having a girl :) All the best for the 20 week scan X

Koalie · 05/07/2023 15:29

@Tinkerbell098 I LOVE the lakes! My fave part of the UK. 31 weeks .. that has really flown !! We have our 20 week scan on the 24th and we already have the gender in an envelope from a private scan we had… we are going to wait until after 20 weeks and then get some cupcakes made and take them to the beach with a picnic 🥰 I am so surprisingly not tempted to open the envelope though, I am so at peace with whatever he/she may be. Do you know what you’re having? Xx

Tinkerbell098 · 05/07/2023 15:02

@Koalie aww that sounds amazing. Have fun! I'm alright. We were also away for a week in the Lake District it was really nice. Coming up to 31 weeks now, it's really flown by! When is your next scan? Would you find out the gender?

Koalie · 05/07/2023 14:57

@lemons44 & @NatW2021 when do you both start your cycles?

@Tinkerbell098 I’m doing well thanks lovely. I’m off to Cornwall for a week tomorrow which I’m so looking forward to! How are you doing? Xx

Tinkerbell098 · 05/07/2023 14:54

Sorry girls, just catching up on everyone.

@NatW2021 I was away a lot during stims and always managed to take my meds with me (both on fresh and frozen cycles I did). They didn't need to be in a fridge or anything. Once I remember having to do it in a tesco car park haha! All the best with the cycle X

@Koalie how are you getting on lovely?

@lemons44 all the best with the next cycle, so sorry the previous one didn't work out, but glad they have tweaked the protocol now.

NatW2021 · 15/06/2023 18:12

@Carla2601 @Koalie - Thank you!

@Koalie - 1 a day that's great! I'm not sure what I'm doing yet I will have my prep apt when I get back off holiday x

Carla2601 · 14/06/2023 13:00

@NatW2021 mine weren’t refrigerated and I did them any old place - weirdest was probably in a theatre loo so IMO you’d be fine with that. Loads of luck!

Koalie · 14/06/2023 08:06

@lemons44 so pleased you’re happy with your new protocol - it definitely sounds promising, especially with the added LH! 🤞🏼

@NatW2021 my first scan was day 8 too … up until that point I only had the one injection a day which was the stims but if you’re on a different protocol then it might be different for you. The only think I guess to consider is the fact that my stims had to be refrigerated… in terms of actually doing the shots, you can do them anywhere 😊 x

NatW2021 · 13/06/2023 16:23

@lemons44 - Thank you cant wait to get away now, although I'm due on my period when I'm away (.typical) when do you start your next cycle?

A question for those who have done IVF - my clinic scan on day
8, im we have a break away in the cotswolds which falls around cd4-cd7 if everything is on time. I know everyone is different but how many injections did you have per day and do you think it would be easy enough to take the meds with me etc. I am trying to decide if I should cancel it or pay the remaining balance

SaraSS · 13/06/2023 13:14

@lemons44 oh don't worry it's hard to keep up with these threads! I actually thought I was replying to you on the IVF thread haha
My first round was cancelled on day10 of stims as I wasn't getting a good response. Hopefully starting on the max next time will be better!

lemons44 · 13/06/2023 08:38

@SaraSS my cheapy ovulation tests very rarely got even close to be being as dark as the test line. I never thought about it much until they suggested adding LH to my next round. I don't actually know the medication name yet as haven't been sent the medication list but I will let you know when I do know! Sorry for forgetting but what result did you get for your first IVF round?

Thanks @Carla2601 💗 it's hard because it's all trial and error! Just keeping everything crossed for a better result this time with the protocol changes!

@NatW2021 it can feel a bit overwhelming to start with with all the terminology but the experts know what they are doing so just leave it to them. Best thing you can do is just keep as relaxed as possible so limiting any googling is definitely a good idea 😊 hope you have the BEST holiday ☀️

xx

Hey @lemons44

so pleased you have managed to get those changes for the second cycle. All the IVF talk feels very alien to me atm and I’m really trying to not do any research as that was my problem at the start and I was constantly on google, im trying to trust the DRs (although it’s so hard to not question them) I’m doing the short protocol - medium dose (that’s what it says on my notes) AMH is 20.8

im currently frantically trying to organise everything as we go on holiday Sunday. Doing all the consent forms, blood tests etc so all being well we will start middle of July. We are going with access fertility.

@Koalie - so pleased everything well 💕 sorry for late reply i have been trying to limit my TTC internet exposure atm x

Carla2601 · 12/06/2023 16:13

@lemons44 well done you for questioning it and I’m so pleased you’re happier! I had 225 and short protocol too. Fingers crossed it is next month….not too long to wait!

SaraSS · 12/06/2023 13:29

@lemons44 glad to hear you're happier with your protocol. Hopefully it works better! I was on meriofert 225 then 350 and didn't respond well. I'll be starting at 450 on my next attempt.
What's the LH hormone? I think I'm similar to you, I got weak positives on ovulation tests (they were same as test line but not massively darker)

@2021lady sorry for delayed response - have you taken any more tests?

Hope everyone's well xx

lemons44 · 12/06/2023 08:27

Hello all, just wanted to give an update.

I wasn't initially very happy with the suggested changes to my new protocol for my second round of IVF as I didn't think they were changing it enough so pushed for my consultant to get a second opinion. I'm happier with it now.

I will be moved on to short protocol (I was on long protocol before). They are adding LH hormones, increasing my stims from 150 to 225 (ovitrelle) and changing me from a single trigger to a double trigger shot.

I'm really hoping that this complete shake up will give me better results as 10 of my eggs were immature and unusable last time.

Has anybody had LH before?

I'm am wondering if this may really help me because when we were trying naturally, I used to take those cheapy ovulation strips. I very rarely would get a positive one despite peeing on them religiously! And they measure LH surge I think? So perhaps my body doesn't release much LH on its own. 🤔

@NatW2021 how are you doing? Excited to start in July? I think I may be starting round 2 in July but not been confirmed yet.

@Koalie so happy your scan went well 😘 I hope it was magical for you 💗

How is everyone doing?

Xx

Can I have line eyes please? 2.5 years ttc now for baby number 2... this was this morning at 11dpo.

Koalie · 02/06/2023 11:55

@BritInNZ & @FlyOnTheWall89 so lovely to hear how you’re both getting on, thank you for sharing 🫶🏼 I will certainly be winging it when the time comes, as I know nothing about babies 😂🥴 x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 01/06/2023 22:45

@Koalie yay! You must be on a real high!

Mum life is amazing, I have to say I completely love it. Maybe a little lucky as baby hasn't had colic or reflux or anything. She's super chilled and sweet and very patient. Just one wake up at night and sometimes will go from 8 till 5ish. Just dream feeding her now to see if she will go through the night from now. Like Oscar @BritInNZ , she is definitely queen of catnaps 😂, but stays on good form so we roll with it. If I let her sleep on me though she will stay asleep for 2/3 hours but then I get nothing done at all haha. It's a trade off. No real routine, just following feeding and sleeping cues at the moment, but enjoying our much longed for baby bubble so much.

Looking forward to some more positive news on here soon! Xxx

BritInNZ · 01/06/2023 21:49

Like @FlyOnTheWall89 I've just managed to check in. So sorry to hear it didn't work this time around @lemons44 - fingers crossed the new protocol will help!

The first 8 weeks with Oscar were horrific and I had deep regrets - which is crazy when you think what I went through to get here?! One day he screamed for 12 hours straight. But then when he hit 8 weeks, it was like a switch flicked and now he's a lovely chilled baby. He does 7.30-7.30 overnight with two feeds, and easily goes down for naps. Although he's still king of catnaps and only does 45 minutes, and then will throw me off when he does a 2.5 hour nap and I have to go wake him 🤣 I had no idea just how hard a newborn would be and I think it will be a long time before I can even think about any more - which is just as well, because TTC was pretty horrific too!

Hope everyone is keeping well. Sorry to see not everyone has got what they've wanted yet - I will keep hoping you all get there soon x
