@Koalie Oh my gosh you'll be holding your little one before you know it! I can't believe how quickly that's gone.

Koalie · 01/11/2023 07:53

@TheBirdintheCave Amazing news! I still felt like that going into my 12 week scan even though we’d had one at 10 weeks. Only 1 more sleep to go!

I’m good thank you. 34 weeks now so on the home stretch. X

TheBirdintheCave · 31/10/2023 19:40

@Koalie I'm ok :) I'm 11+5 now. 12 week scan is on Thursday which is very scary. We've had three so far (7, 9 and 10) and all have shown a baby growing ahead of schedule with a good heart beat but it's so hard to shake the worries!

NIPT was all clear which is a huge relief.

How are you doing?

Koalie · 31/10/2023 16:58

Hi ladies
Just checking in to see how you’re all doing?
Sorry @NatW2021 i thought I had replied to your previous message! 2 embabies is a good result ! Do you know when your transfer will be?
x

NatW2021 · 27/09/2023 13:51

Hi @Koalie I was coming onto update you and seen your message 😊 meh we did ok, we got 2 frozen I was a bit disappointed as we had 10 fertilised and 4 extra made it to day 4 but didn't have everything they needed they kept them until today (day 6) so it's the end of the road for them now.

Just feels like such a drop from 17 mature eggs, 2 didnt fertilise, 5 fertilised abnormally( 2 sperms they think) then 10 nornal and only 2 made it. 5AB and. Grade 2 which is apparently 2AB god knows if it's any good but I'm sure it's ok as they seem very strict on what they freeze.

I'm just panicking that these 2 won't stick and I'll have to go through it all again and then that's it, i cant help but look for the negatives.

Dr or embryologist couldn't realty advise why we had so many drop off but says maybe icsi might help the abnormal fertilisation if we go again.

Plan is to start with my withdrawal bleed but period after.

I just cant shake the disappointment even though 2 isn't all bad. X

Koalie · 27/09/2023 11:53

How did your embabies do @NatW2021 ? Xx

Koalie · 22/09/2023 16:46

@NatW2021 however, I will add that I think some clinics are more flexible around which days they will do transfers. It's worth asking the clinic the pros and cons but like you said, they both get similar success rates xx

Koalie · 22/09/2023 16:28

@NatW2021 I had medicated because it was standard for my clinic. I had lots of questions around this at the time because I have regular periods and wanted to do a natural but they said I would need to speak to the consultant and then offered me an appointment with them like 2 months later so I didn't really have a choice unless I wanted to wait even longer. However, the clinic were adamant that medicated would give them more control over my lining etc. It also meant that there was no risk of the perfect day for transfer falling on a day where they weren't open. xx

NatW2021 · 22/09/2023 16:21

@Koalie yes I have read lots of positive stories about EC so I wasn't that nervous more worried about the numbers and fertilisation the sedation was brilliant honestly didn't have a clue what was going on.

The dr mentioned about a natural FET as my cycles are regular when we decide I need to book a follow up to get a plan in place. I think my period will come as usual in 2 weeks.

Do you mind me asking why you do an medicated FET? I haven't looked into it much but I know success rates are similar so would rather do it naturally but i just don't know what's best? X

Koalie · 22/09/2023 16:14

@NatW2021 I felt the same re the egg collection - I actually quite enjoyed the whole experience lol. So, looking at my calendar, I THINK my period came 13 days after egg retrieval. But then I had a medicated FET cycle so I then needed to be down regulated like 3 weeks after that and then had my transfer like 5 weeks after that so the wait for me was looooong. Are you having a natural FET? x

NatW2021 · 22/09/2023 16:03

@TheBirdintheCave @Koalie Thank you 💕 I'm happy considering my AMH and also AFC scan hopefully these 10 are good quality and we get a few to freeze.

My dr said we could do an FET when my withdrawal bleed comes. @Koalie when did you get your period after EC?

I feel absolutely fine, bit nervous initially but the sedation was brilliant and next thing I knew I was awake! I had some cramping but once the pain relief kicked in I was fine and I've not had to take any painkillers today. The clinic said they will update me tomorrow aswell. X

TheBirdintheCave · 22/09/2023 14:57

@NatW2021 Ah just read back up it's a freeze all! Apologies.

Koalie · 22/09/2023 14:41

Sorry for my absence ladies.

@NatW2021 that's fantastic news. Fingers crossed for some good blasts. I had a freeze all due to developing OHSS if you remember ... It was a little disappointing but it was definitely the best option for me because I just know that my body wasn't ready for transfer - we could have lost our boy if we'd have gone ahead and not waited. How did you find collection? Were you sedated?

xx

TheBirdintheCave · 22/09/2023 10:54

@NatW2021 That's brilliant! Well done for getting past the egg collection. I found that the hardest bit of the whole process. Fingers crossed all ten are still going strong in five days time! Are you going to have a fresh transfer?

NatW2021 · 22/09/2023 10:49

I had my collection yesterday. 19 retrieved, 17 mature, 10 fertilised. Now we hope and pray 🙏.

Obviously a little disappointed with the drop but I no its to be expected. I wasn't expecting 19 so got to focus on the positives 🙌

NatW2021 · 19/09/2023 17:21

@TheBirdintheCave - amazing! Bet you cant believe it! Not long to go now till your scan although I can imagine everyday is a drag.

@littlebopeep1991 - welcome! Sorry you find yourself here. We have been TTC over 2 years with unexpected infertility and currently on ivf cycle 1.

Just a little update from me, im learning for some IVF isn't plain sailing. Had my scan today and numbers have improved got 12 good sized with 3 more potentials.

As however I have 2 x 22mm they measured my progesterone which is higher than they would like so now it's a freeze all as apparently it can impact the uterus environment and reduce implantation, can't help but feel down about this as I was hoping we would have a shot at a BFP sooner and more waiting!! But got to take positives after a cancelled cycle in July due to a poor response.

Trigger shot tonight! Wish me luck x

Hi ladies, I'm new. Found you after spending the evening crying my eyes out after the third pregnancy announcement of close friends with their second babies in the last couple of weeks following a year of multiple close friends births. Starting all the fertility tests through the doctors but after three months to get my day 21 and 2-5 due to lack of appointments done I had a call with the doctor to find out the day 21 didn't get done properly so need to re do it before they can send off to the hospital.

Feeling a bit deflated. Had an operation to get rid of endometriosis last year and it seems to be coming back again so having to wait for a referral back to gynae again.

Sorry for the rant, my partner is so supportive but I just don't think he gets it in the same way.

TheBirdintheCave · 17/09/2023 12:18

@NatW2021 I'm glad your numbers are sounding better this time! Fingers crossed for a good haul on Thursday!

And thank you :) I'm 5+3 today. Very glad my 'tick over' day is a Thursday as the weekends go so fast I'm half way through the week before I know it. Got a scan booked for seven weeks on the 28th so hoping I make it to then.

NatW2021 · 17/09/2023 12:07

@TheBirdintheCave OMG - how amazing! Miracles really do happen so pleased for you! sorry for the radio silence I've been cracking on with my cycle and was on holiday'

@lemons44 - sorry to hear about your cycle? Are you planning on starting again soon? Have you looked at clinics abroad they seem far more advanced when things aren't text book? A friend if mine who is with an AMH of 0.4 went abroad recently and it worked first time fir her.

I'm on my way with this ivf cycle, im on day 9 I'm on max Stims and have 7 over15mm then a further 5 from 10mm up to 13mm so things have improved since last cycle but I'm very average and not going to get great numbers on collection. I'll be lucky to get 12 if all the others catch up. Been for a scan this morning and it's likely I'll be going for collection Thursday.

Just trying to remember im 35 with a very average AMH so got to grateful for what I have an hope and pray we get eggs in each follicle then its a waiting game.

Hope everyone is doing ok x

TheBirdintheCave · 08/09/2023 22:29

@Netflixnchilli Oh my gosh that sounds so awful :( I'm really glad the surgeon was able to sort it all for you.

TheBirdintheCave · 08/09/2023 22:28

Thank you everyone :) I'm waiting til Monday now to test again. Really not sure if this will even get off the ground or not.

@lemons44 I'm really sorry :(

lemons44 · 08/09/2023 20:01

Huge congrats @TheBirdintheCave that's amazing news 💗

@Netflixnchilli gosh I am so sorry to hear this! That must have been a real shock that they found all that. Have u had time to heal from the surgery? Totally understand how disheartening it all is.

Our second round of IVF failed sadly ☹️ I'm just not sure it's ever going to work for us to be honest. It's hard to keep hopeful x

Congratulations @TheBirdintheCave !!! This is such wonderful news ♥️

@lemons44 how are you doing? Do you have any update on the second cycle?

I haven’t posted in ages because things haven’t been great; I finally had my laparoscopy/hysteroscopy in June (after it had been cancelled in April because I got covid) and as well as finding uterine adhesions they found a polyp, bowel adhesions, uterine septum, c section scar defect, my womb, tubes and ovaries scarred to my omentum pulling them all out of my pelvis into my abdomen, an active infection in 1 tube and both tubes blocked with scar tissue. Luckily the surgeon was incredible and he sorted it all apart from bowel adhesions and the scar tissue hasn’t returned.

We’ve just abandoned our second superovulation cycle due to no response and I’m finding it hard; we’ve already spent around £15k and don’t feel any closer to a baby.

anyway. Sorry for that ramble! Hope everyone else is doing ok and fingers crossed for more positive news soon xxx

AgeGapBbe · 08/09/2023 14:47

Such great news @TheBirdintheCave ive got everything crossed for you now!
