@zubi23 Hello! :) I am in the same boat and wondering exactly the same thing re AMH, as mine is 10.7 which is deemed low for my age. It’s on my list of questions for our consultant at my next appointment! From what I can see online, it seems to only impact the rate of AMH decline for those with PCOS … but it’s still a worry I have too! With regards to it affecting periods, I’d not heard of that but I’ve heard that IVF can give your body some sort of re boot … I know a few people who had failed IVF and went on to conceive naturally straight after so I’m just hoping we will also have that option if IVF doesn’t work 🤞🏼 x

zubi23 · 26/11/2022 16:55

Hello All,

We are planning to start our ivf journey next month privately but I am worried if having IVF will reduce my AMH level or impact my regular periods as if unsuccessful after 2 to 3 rounds of ivf then we still want to be able to have the option of conceiving naturally. I am not sure if having IVF treatment will have any negative impact. My Amh is very low so I am worried as I do not want to take any wrong decision.

Please if anyone could help and guide.

Thanks

@monsteramunch
I think you're in with the usual chances. As others have said - the LH surge is 24-72 hours before ovulation so anytime around then is the most fertile time.
Good luck :-)

Thank you Flowers

Just had a negative OPK so my full week looks like:

CD 12 digital OPK blank circle - didn't DTD
CD 13 digital OPK blank circle - didn't DTD
CD 14 digital OPK static smiley - DTD
CD 15 super strong positive strip OPK - DTD
CD 16 super strong positive strip OPK - DTD
CD 17 negative strip OPK - didn't DTD

Hoping so much that means we've caught the surge at the right time that we get good news this month.

Hope we all do soon Flowers

@susummerchild92
I know what you mean about getting emotional when AF arrives. The hormones don't help either!
For me, it's partly a relief that at least I have an answer for that cycle, I try to take a break for a few days then prep for the next cycle... so I've just ordered some digital ovulation sticks and some more vitamins.. I'm trying pregnacare now as it was on offer for £4.99 for a months worth. I was on the 'conceive plus ovulation support', but now I know my ovulation is fine there's not much point in spending £25 a month on that!

I've got everything crossed for you that AF doesn't arrive and you get a positive test! Keep us updated :-)

@JSS15 Always worth asking! The hospital I'm at is very good for cancellations, they just ring the next on the list and the first to pick up and confirm gets the appointment.
I also hassled them a little bit for my second appointment as I'd had bloods done in August but because of the back log I had to wait until October to get results (and that was a cancellation appointment!) So I don't know if my ringing a few times prompted me up the list.
I just hope there isn't a long wait if we end up getting referred for IVF. By that point it will be 2 years and I just feel like I'm going to really struggle if we have to wait another 6 or 9 months or something to get started.

summerchild92 · 26/11/2022 14:21

@SaraSS oh, sorry about af 😏 for me it’s always emotional couple of days after i get on 😬 but then I get excited abouf trying again. They say three cycles after HyCosy you are most fertile … so fx we get our bfps soon!!

I’m not spotting yet, haven’t tested this morning, nor do I plan on testing again, because it’s just too disappointing always seeing negative results. I will wait for a few days in case af is just late due to the procedure. 😬😬

JSS15 · 26/11/2022 12:36

@BakinABaby yes we could do I think, but he’s coming back from the states so might be jet lag dependent. I’ll have to try my best at seduction 😂

@SaraSS sorry about AF. Yes i was shocked at the wait! There were 3 clinics I could choose from - two at 45 weeks and one at 35 I think. But the 35 week one would have been hard to get to. Interesting to hear you got cancellation appointments. I might give them a call in the new year and see where I’m at in the list. I’ll maybe ask about cancellations too knowing you had luck.

SaraSS · 26/11/2022 12:10

@summerchild92
AF arrived last night, disappointing but expected after the last few negative tests towards the end of the TWW. My cycle has been slightly shorter this time but not drastically.. I doubt the Hycosy has changed my cycle (having said that, I'll see how heavy /painful it is over the next few days!!)
Have you had any spotting or anything?

@lemons44 sorry to hear of the situation, and fx it's a simple fix for the surgery and you can conceive soon! Do you know what the statistics are if they remove a blockage? Does it put you at the 'normal' odds of conception or would you be looking at other methods like IVF?

@JSS15 45 weeks is very long! The initial referral to Gyno for us was about 3 or 4 months, but I managed to get a cancellation appointment at late notice. In fact all my appointments have been cancellations at late notice (luckily I could make the time they offered) .. if it wasn't for the cancellations I'd probably still be in the first queue!

BakinABaby · 26/11/2022 11:38

@JSS15 I think you might still make it. If you think you’re gonna ov tomorrow then intercource later that day may very well still be valid.

We managed to dtd only once during my fertile week this time. I had gotten a pos opk earlier that day and we were dtd later in the evening and I felt the ov just before we ..ahem (I often feel when I ov like that) so couldn’t have been better timing I guess, fresh guys to meet the fresh girl 😀

JSS15 · 26/11/2022 10:27

@BakinABaby I know!! I guess because it’s non urgent? Still it’s pretty bad when target wait times are 18 weeks. I think we’ll be eligible for a fertility referral by the time it comes around, but here’s hoping I’ll be pregnant before then!

@lemons44 I’m doing good thanks. Told myself I’d not track this month since my husband is away but ended up doing it anyway 🤡. Figured it would actually give me peace of mind since my cycles have been so erratic recently. Looks like my LH is peaking today, and he’s not back until late tomorrow but at least I’ll know when to expect my period. Plus it’s CD23 today which is really good considering my last cycles have been something like 40-63 days!

@monsteramunch i don’t use the digital OPKs but I think ovulation is usually something like 12-24 hours post the peak. Therefore I reckon you should have at least hit O-1 and O with your DTD-ing! Do you temp? It’s worth it for a cycle or two to check when your ovulation actually happens after your peak, as it can be different for everyone.

summerchild92 · 26/11/2022 10:22

I’m currently one day late according to Flo 🙄 test was negative yesterday. 🥲 The past few months my cycle was 28 days, I’ve had longer cycles (29-30) so I could very well have a longer one, so I could be very much out already considering the negative tests … but we’ll see what the next days bring.

I’ll probably start taking Letrozole next cycle once AF gets here. Anyone have any experience with it?

@SaraSS how are you? Have you tested again?

@lemons44 oof, sorry to hear that. Hoping for a good outcome after biopsy! Fx they find something!!! ❤️

monsteramunch · 26/11/2022 10:07

This is such a lovely supportive thread. Sending everyone lots of luck Flowers

Hoping I've now ovulated and I'm on the TWW... again!!

Here's a round up of my fertile week

CD 12 digital OPK blank circle - didn't DTD
CD 13 digital OPK blank circle - didn't DTD
CD 14 digital OPK static smiley - DTD
CD 15 super strong positive strip OPK - DTD
CD 16 super strong positive strip OPK - DTD

Really hoping the above means we're in with a good shot but worried we left most of the DTD too late after the positive OPK.

Any advice / thoughts / experience welcome!

BakinABaby · 26/11/2022 09:27

@JSS15 45 weeks! That is 10,5 months. That is insane.
@lemons44 oh that is exciting! Good luck for next week, hoping you will find swimmers.

lemons44 · 26/11/2022 09:06

Hi @JSS15 how are you doing?

@SaraSS @summerchild92 I am trying for my first too, I think most on here are trying for number 1. It will be 2 years for me in January but we haven't really been trying the last 8 months as my husband has azoospermia so we have a 0% chance of natural conception. Waiting for a surgical sperm retrieval next week to see if there is a blockage stopping it getting out or DH just does not produce any sperm.

I think some ladies in one of these earlier threads got lucky after having a hycosy so keeping my fingers crossed u have luck in the coming months x

Hi all just checking back in here. Good luck for your referral @lemons44 that’s good news that it has come through!

I’m not in the same area @SaraSS but I have tried to look for my local wait times and didn’t come up with anything. My gynaecology referral was something like 45 weeks wait and is still pending, so I am worried about how long a fertility referral would take if we need it.

@lemons44 pretty much the same story as @SaraSS 😬 ttc first bebe 😍 have been trying for over a year and a half … almost two. I also had HyCosy this cycle (almost had to cancel because I had a fever a few days before and the blood results were showing inflammation which wasn’t ideal).

Does anyone know if the procedure (HyCosy/HSG) can delay AF? 😬 I’m supposed to get on tomorrow and I don’t have the usual spotting 😏

I’m definitely going to test tomorrow if Af doesn’t show. I’m approx. 13dpo today (yesterday was a midday test) … so I think if I do it with fmu tomorrow, the results would be realistic.

@summerchild92
tomorrow FMU should be realistic, fx for you! I've not heard if it delays AF, I know it can bring it forward if you have a Hycosy towards the end of the cycle, but that's not the case for us anyway.
It makes sense that it could impact the cycle with a delay as it's quite an invasive procedure.
Sorry that's not much help lol.

Does anyone know how I can find out what timescales we're looking at if we end up with an IVF referral? I'm in Cheshire and currently seeing the fertility specialist at Leighton Hopital. When I asked the timescales she kind of avoided the question and said it's "not too long" as we are already in the system.. but now I'm wondering what "not too long" means!

@lemons44 thanks for thinking of me ❤️ I’m much better now. Got another counselling session this morning. I’m just waiting for my cycles to regulate now and can go for the next frozen round. It’s great your CCG lets you go private without losing funding. Ours lets you have two before the one funded round and I know a few girls on another thread I’m on have gone private before the nhs rounds as it’s taken too long and one girl is now pregnant from the frozen transfer. Depends how long you want to wait. Looking back, I wish I had gone private at the start of the year before my nhs round. But I’m 37 so feel like I’m running out of time.

@summerchild92 @SaraSS sorry you've both had negative tests ladies ☹️ I know it never gets easier. Are you both trying for your first babies? x

@lemons44
Yes trying for my first. been TTC for about 18 months, not had any BFPs. Tests are showing both me and DP are fine. Had a Hycosy at the start of this cycle so hoping that boosts fertility for the next few cycles.
If not, we're looking at IVF..

Did another test this morning and BFN. Had a few period type cramps too so think AF will show in the next day or so..

lemons44 · 24/11/2022 07:45

@Tinkerbell098 hope you're doing ok by the way ❤️ been thinking of you

@FlyOnTheWall89 @Koalie @Tinkerbell098
Thanks ladies. I was doing a bit of research and it looks like with my CCG area you can have one round of private and still have two rounds of NHS, or two rounds of private and one round of NHS. This has made me feel a bit better as IF we find sperm for IVF we can go private to save time but still have a chance to use our NHS entitlement too.

@SaraSS I tested yesterday too, but not with fmu, and it was a neg. I stupidly ordered tests online and as soon as I got them, I had the urge ti test. Haha 🙄 I’m supposed to get on my period tomorrow so I will wait until Saturday to test again (if af doesn’t show). This way I can keep the rest of the tests for the next cycle😬😂

SaraSS · 23/11/2022 18:39

@summerchild92
Yeah it was negative this morning with FMU. Tried again this afternoon with a long hold and negative again. I'm 11/12dpo now so would have thought I'd have a faint line by now if I was.
I'd love it to be positive of course but my optimism is low for this cycle now. AF is due in a few days so ill know fairly soon!
How are you? Have you tested again yet?

summerchild92 · 23/11/2022 17:33

SaraSS · 23/11/2022 16:57

@summerchild92
Yeah it was v v v light spotting a few days ago, didn't last long at all. Nothing since.
I'm still getting stark white BFNs so I feel like I'm out 🤷‍♀️ I'll keep testing until AF arrives though.

I'm looking at buying some digital ovulation sticks for next cycle (waiting for AF before I order!) I've not used them before but would be good to compare to the cheapy ovulation sticks I've been using- make sure I'm reading them right!
Honestly, clutching at straws - I like to try something new each cycle if I can!!

Urhh social media keeps showing my pregnancy adverts and baby thinks.. 😒 not helpful!

@SaraSS that does sound like IB. Fx it was and you will get a positive soon! Did you test this morning and get a neg?
