@lemons44 - hope everything goes well today 🙏 xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 02/12/2022 06:37

I@lemons44 unbelievable - what an anti-climax having booked a hotel etc. wishing you so much luck today. I really hope it's a positive experience. You've waited so so long. Basically as long as a whole pregnancy. Sending you hugs!

@Koalie I was due to do long protocol. It's much longer (around 6-8 weeks from what I remember) and more injections. You start day 21 of your cycle. The reason I was told this was my best route was because my AMH was under a certain amount (low for my age, but not drastic) ... with long protocol they have more control basically and you're more likely to get equal sized follicles and a better egg collection. At my hospital it was the standard route for those with an AMH under 'X' (sorry can't remember the figure). I think there is also less likelihood of over stimulation. I've read a lot of positive experiences for short protocol though and would have definitely preferred this route on paper (had we had to do IVF). X

Carla2601 · 02/12/2022 02:36

@Tinkerbell098 im 36 weeks now and we moved on Friday so hoping to feel a bit more ready after this weekend! How are you doing more importantly?

@Koalie also short protocol - what’s your timescale now?

Tinkerbell098 · 01/12/2022 23:17

@lemons44 I'm so so sorry to hear what happened today. It's terrible! I'm really sorry! Hope you guys at least had a nice meal after. Hope the journey back wasn't too bad. Tomorrow HAS to be the day!! I've got everything crossed that you get the BEST news tomorrow. Thinking of you ❤️

@Carla2601 how are you getting on? Not long to go now! Did you say you were moving houses as well? Hope it all went ok.

@Koalie sorry I've only been on here just now so missed your previous message on tips to ask at your appointment. Hope it went well. sounds like the appointment was productive. I was also on short protocol. Think the difference is that the long protocol starts on day 21 (I know some clinics start it even earlier) and downregulate before stims. I preferred the short protocol as there was next to no side effects and it went so fast! I started stims around day 3 for about 10 days before the trigger. So exciting you'd be starting soon! Feel free to ask if you have any specific questions regarding the protocol X

Carla2601 · 01/12/2022 22:30

@lemons44 honestly I can’t believe it!!! I thought of you guys first thing this morning (but weirdly can’t see my post!) and I was a bit worried when we hadn’t heard by lunchtime as it’s normally so speedy.

You deserve the best retrieval ever tomorrow and I’m putting that out to the universe as we speak.

GOOD LUCK….again! X

Koalie · 01/12/2022 18:50

Omg @lemons44 i cannot believe it! You poor poor thing 😢 tomorrow IS the day! Like you said, it HAS to be ♥️ hope you’re both treating yourself to something delicious for dinner (especially your OH!) xx

NatW2021 · 01/12/2022 18:46

@lemons44 i am lost for words! Honestly i cant believe it x

lemons44 · 01/12/2022 18:38

So update from me.

Stayed in a hotel in London last night as we don't live here. I booked first class train tickets home so DH would have extra leg space as I thought he'd be sore. At the hospital DH was in his gown and socks and we waited.. and waited... and waited ☹️ anyway the first surgery of the day run over so much and we were then told at about 5pm that it was now too late to do ours so we are on a train back home now and need to come back into London to have it tomorrow. The consultant is lovely and it wasn't her fault she couldnt get in the room to do ours. She's going to push for us to be first tomorrow as I think she feels sorry for us.

I can't believe the luck we have had:

  • waited 6 weeks for our original SSR for it to be cancelled the day before
  • waited about 7ish weeks to have it to be told the clinic won't do it for us
  • splash out on Mr R and just our luck, he is off sick for the first time in 25 years (obviously not his fault)
  • rebook with new consultant at new hospital, got SO CLOSE (in DH's words... the socks were on!) for us to now be on our way home exhausted, DH starving as he wasn't allowed to eat and drink from 5am, and just not sure how much more we can take.

Honestly I don't know what I will do if something else goes wrong. Tomorrow has to be it. It HAS to be. This much bad luck relating to a simple SSR can NOT be normal!

@2021lady welcome to the group 🙂 is Femara the same as letrozole? What tests etc have you and your OH had so far? Good luck with it! Fingers crossed for a lucky next cycle 🍀x

Koalie · 01/12/2022 17:50

Hi ladies
Had our DNA frag results and they came back at 33% which isn’t great but certainly not hopeless! It confirmed that ICSI is def the right route for us. We can’t start this cycle coming though, as Christmas gets in the way but they will be sorting out injections etc.I’m the coming weeks to start day 2 of the next cycle (likely to be about 30th Dec) … @Carla2601 @Tinkerbell098 do I remember you talking about short and long protocol before? I think mine will be short … what does that mean? 🤔 x

@lemons44 .. I hope your appointment went well. I’ve been thinking about you today xx

NatW2021 · 01/12/2022 17:23

@lemons44 - been thinking of you today. Hope all went well 🙏🤞💗 xx

SaraSS · 01/12/2022 16:53

@2021lady
Hi! What's femara?

2021lady · 01/12/2022 11:44

Can I join please? I've been ttc number 2 for almost 18 months now. I am trying femara soon
I am already out for December as husband is away on a business trip during my ovulation week
So femara I will take my December period. And hopefully will have a bfp in January!

SaraSS · 01/12/2022 10:44

@summerchild92 any updates?

@lemons44 good luck today. Will you know results straight away or do you have to wait for analysis?

I'm onto my next cycle now, ovulation predicted in 7 days to I'll start on the cheapy ovulation strips soon and switch to the digital when I think I have a positive! It will be interesting to see if the digital and cheap ones give different results.. I've only ever used cheap ones so far.

lemons44 · 30/11/2022 21:48

Thanks @Koalie I spent all day flapping because we hadn't yet had formal confirmation it was going ahead in the new hospital with the new consultant. However plans are all firmed up now so we are just waiting until tomorrow afternoon. Literally feel sick with nerves.

I really hope your consultation goes well tomorrow and that the frag results are good. I know what you mean. I just want to find out if we have sperm and then start IVF. So fed up with waiting!

Sorry you're not well @BakinABaby I hope you feel better soon!

@RoseGold24 welcome. I'm so sorry to hear about your mmc. You are much stronger than I am with regards to your diet, you must feel good physically for not having those things. X

Koalie · 30/11/2022 16:09

Omg @lemons44 thank god they could still fit you in!! Good luck for tomorrow, I’ll be thinking of you! My hubby’s DNA frag results are back and we are going in to the clinic for the first time tomorrow afternoon to discuss them which I’m a little nervous about. I’m 11dpo today and tested this morning - BFN and the first time I have felt absolutely fine about it. It feels like a bit of a relief to know that we will (hopefully) now be starting IVF, as it’s a bit of a break in the never ending cycle of no hope 😆

IVF ladies - are there any questions you think I should be asking at our appointment? ☺️ xx

BakinABaby · 28/11/2022 21:56

Well I have managed to catch a bug from my kid and while she had it pretty easy I have had extremely high temps for three days now. I haven't been this sick since I was a child. Anyway, I think I am out this cycle, no way this would be a successful cycle given my current condition, 5 dpo otherwise.

NatW2021 · 28/11/2022 20:20

@lemons44 - OMG - i bet your heart sank when you got that email thankfully it can still go ahead though. What a palava x

lemons44 · 28/11/2022 19:49

Oh girls you will never guess what 😩 u know we had so much bad luck with our old clinic trying to have our surgical sperm retrieval? We were finally so happy to have it booked with Mr Ramsay for Thursday and we've just had an email to say... he's off sick and can't do it! 😱

Luckily he works with another consultant who is going to do it on Thursday at a different hospital but I just cannot believe our luck! My DH said he thinks we are due to give birth to the antichrist or something and someone up is just doing everything they can to stop us having this procedure 😅😅

RoseGold24 · 28/11/2022 17:55

Hi all, can I please join? Soooo fed up with all this ttc business! I fell pregnant in early April after 12 months of trying, had a mmc which completed at end of May. So now on month 7. This month I am avoiding refined sugars, alcohol and caffeine. I don't know how I've made it this far as I'm a total sugar and caffeine addict, but I'm running out of other ideas! We have an appt with consultant in Dec xx

summerchild92 · 27/11/2022 12:06

@SaraSS af still not here 😬🙄 but still bfn, so I guess it’s a longer cycle 🥹 hope af shows up soon if it’s meant to … dang, I guess HyCosy did mess up my cycle a little bit 😬

Koalie · 27/11/2022 11:44

@zubi23 You too! I am sure I will be keeping everyone updated on here … would be good to hear how it’s going for you too ☺️ x

zubi23 · 27/11/2022 11:42

@Koalie
Thank you for sharing

Good luck.. Its an amazing journey.. X

Koalie · 27/11/2022 11:13

@zubi23 Both me and hubby are taking impryl, vit d and fish oil. We are both eating really well with no refined sugars, fried foods or red meat. Hubby Eating lots of walnuts and tomato juice and avoiding soy as much as he can. I’m just having a couple of Brazil nuts (and others) every day in addition to lots of fruit and veg. We’ve also made lots of lifestyle changes - e.g 0 caffeine and alcohol, only drinking filtered water, switching up our beauty products for paraben free stuff & lots of exercise. ☺️ xx

zubi23 · 27/11/2022 10:51

@Koalie, thank you for your reply. I hope ivf would work. Are you taking any special supplements or anything specific in your diet?

I am a vegetarian so relying on green vegetables these days.

Xx
