Me and partner was ttc for a year nothing happened but I still kept track of ovulation every month with my cb digital so I knew when I ovulated this month me and partner where dtd when I had flashing smiley faces but he has been pulling out I’m pretty sure he hasn’t slipped up but I got a solid smiley on the 28th I dtd the next day probably about 6 times but pull out methods every time is there a chance I may be pregnant I will drop my chart down below also though i would add I have been getting the most sharp unusual pains today !

I Am Going Crazy!!!!

I have been with my younger partner for 9years now ,and in March decided to start trying for a baby .I had my coil removed and we have be trying in-between my crazy mad periods .
Anyhoo my periods have settled and I had my last period on the 20th Sept .
On my next period date I took a test and it was positive ,as it was a cheap test we took a digital a couple day later and was negative , thought 🤔 mmmm to early. Did another beginning of this week still negative am now 2 weeks 3 days late and am having light spotting.

Am confused and scared to do another test ,could I be pregnant??? Could this be an implantation bleed ,am I too old to conceive? Doctors have advised probably just a late or missed period which is normal.
I am going out of my mind !!!
Anyone else ovulated late or ha positive and negative results and still Been pregnant??
Tia

I'd def say that was positive & to do another test x

I can't test yet as still to early we wouldn't be mad if we was pregnant but we wanted to wait a couple of months for a number of reason I thought pull out method done perfectly was still a good form of contraception obviously from morning also during midnight is how we managed dtd around 6ish times ... just don't see how I could get a bfp if he pulled out perfectly each time

If you don't understand the basics of reproduction I'd suggest delaying children. You are actively having sex unprotected when ovulating. It doesn't get anymore simple.

Oh give it a rest. It isn't safe at all. Precum for a start.

It does work though. It’s not foolproof, you can still get pregnant but if done properly the chances are very low. Pre cum doesn’t usually have sperm in it.

allgoodthings84 · 02/11/2022 12:56

@kyyy you might not end up being pregnant. Take a test when you’re at least 12dpo. No point before that as can get a false negative if taking a test too early. Or wait and see if your period shows up when expected. The chances are you’re not pregnant. There’s a possibility of course but don’t worry yet and if you’re planning on ttc again in a couple months and it wouldn’t be the worst outcome then don’t worry too much. You will have taken out the stress of ttc again.

You could post your ovulation cycle, tell how many times you’ve had sex, the different positions to did it in, what you had for breakfast, etc., or you could just do a pregnancy test in a month. I’m afraid the latter is the only reliable method. If you’re worried about fertilisation, then you can get the morning after pill, or an IUD fitted.

MillieKitty · 02/11/2022 11:23

Yeah @allgoodthings84 I agree with you, I used this method for years but I also tracked ovulation and avoided potential fertile days, and never got pregnant, started "trying" and conceived so it can work if done properly! @kyyy I think you need to prepare yourself for being pregnant as you were DTD six times a day on a fertile day!

Sunshine085 · 02/11/2022 11:18

@kyyy maybe the fact that your dtd several times a day is the reason you didn't get pregnant during your time ttc. Surely, he would be shooting mostly blanks as there us no time for new sperm build up? Maybe I am mistaken but thought that dtd once a day or every 2nd day around ovulation is best for conceiving.

allgoodthings84 · 02/11/2022 10:35

@EmilyGilmoresSass sorry? Rude! Maybe you should get over yourself. If done PROPERLY it is safe as any contraception can be. Being done properly is the operative word. I know loads of people who use these method properly and haven’t got pregnant (myself included when I didn’t want to get pregnant). Doing it 6 times on day of ovulation is not doing this method properly.

"Sperm are mobile and can find their way into the vagina even if the ejaculation happened "outside".

In practice, however, the withdrawal method can be pretty unreliable, which is why it’s not advised as a reliable or standalone method of contraception by the NHS."

Lol. Six times a day. Don't you get sore? I'm surprised you can fit anything else in , so to speak

There's the explanation for the vaginal cramps

SingingSands · 02/11/2022 10:55

kyyy · 02/11/2022 10:08

Oh okay I think I ovulated on the 30th so that would make me 4dpo I'm only worried that pregnancy may occurred because I'm getting extreme cramps in my vaginal area today me and my partner have a very high sex drive so dtd that many times is almost normal for us has anyone else on here used pull out method perfectly and still ended up pregnant

Yes. My parents.

(As my dad told us all one night when he was very drunk). 🥴

Bobshhh · 02/11/2022 10:38

I know this isn't the point but 6 times in a day?! How do you get anything else done?

allgoodthings84 · 02/11/2022 10:38

@kyyy you didn’t do the pull out method perfectly. People doing this method properly wouldn’t be doing it day of ovulation

So do you want to be pregnant or not? I'm a bit confused sorry.

EmilyGilmoresSass · 02/11/2022 10:15

allgoodthings84 · 02/11/2022 09:42

Pull out method is safe if you do it properly. I don’t think anyone trying to avoid getting pregnant would pull out on day of ovulation 6 times! Also by the end I doubt there would be much good sperm left but I don’t know much about that. I wouldn’t want it 6 times in one day phew.

Oh give it a rest. It isn't safe at all. Precum for a start.

summerlovingvibes · 02/11/2022 10:10

Clearly you just need to take a test, no way of MN being able to tell you what the cramps are!

Golaz · 02/11/2022 10:08

Hi OP, you are unlikely to be pregnant this cycle - (although it’s always possible ofc). Pull out method isn’t infallible, but it’s pretty reliable if done properly. It’s too early for you to be having pregnancy symptoms, so the cramps won’t be an indication of anything. Fingers crossed for you when you start ttc again 🤞🏻

allgoodthings84 · 02/11/2022 09:39

@kyyy nope. Dpo means days post/past ovulation so solid smiley is your peak and you ovulate 12-36 hours after that (usually the following day but depends) so 28th peak, 29/30th ovulation, 30th/31st 1dpo and so on so you’re very most 4dpo. It’s too early for anything to be pregnancy. Like I say it doesn’t mean you won’t be pregnant this cycle but it means symptoms now are not because of pregnancy as it’s too early to have implanted so not pregnant yet.

aib · 02/11/2022 09:34

You dtd 6 times in one day? Did he even have anything left to pull out with?

But yes you're too early to test really so leave it a week

kyyy · 02/11/2022 09:30

Thank you all for your responses we where originally ttc but it didn't happen for a whole year we was trying so we decided to leave it a couple months and try again so our idea of leaving it a couple months was pull out but if I ovulated on the 28th wouldn't that make me 5dpo these cramps I'm getting are reallly making me think somethings going on I thought pull out was considered quite safe but I did dtd on day of ovulation so I suppose there's a chance
