I got pregnant naturally just before I was 37,we weren't trying was a contraception failure & MAP was too late (which I'm grateful for now) have a gorgeous 2 year old son who's just gone asleep after a day of mischief 😂

Conceived naturally at 38 on the second month of trying. Easy pregnancy, healthy baby.

Thank your your messages and wonderful stories of positivity . We both have children from previous relationships , have been together a long time .
We have been TTC for a year now and I was fairly relaxed about it but whilst with my friends yesterday they were saying that I am past it and should forget it . Just really upset me .

They aren’t very good friends OP. Let me guess, they all had their babies in their teens or very early twenties, and just want to rag on you to feel better about their choices?

DS1 was an IVF baby after being told it was IVF or nothing. 9 years later (at 36) I found myself pregnant with my now 17m old DS2.

32, 36, 39 and now 42. I didn’t think it would happen this last time as took much longer…but it did! After a year you could try ovulation testing or swing the doctor but I think it’s a common age to give birth now.

Had my first at 37 - got pregnant a month after coming off pill - was told it could take awhile so a nice surprise. Had 2nd at 42. Issues in between with various miscarriages but was due to undiagnosed thyroid disease.
Had both naturally and they are now 5 & 9 😊

I missed one pill and fell pregant at age 43... perfectly straightforward pregnancy and now i have a beautiful little boy.

36 really isnt that old!

Muddypawsandraindrops · 01/11/2022 19:52

I was 35, 38 and 40 when I fell pregnant naturally. I tracked my ovulation OP. Good luck.

Swapshopped · 01/11/2022 19:49

Had my two at 35 and 37, not far off 38. Both very easy and low risk pregnancies. Took about 8 months the first time to conceive, sadly a miscarriage in between (conceived first month of trying) and then was pregnant again 4 months later.

MidsummerMimi · 01/11/2022 19:48

My Mum has her first baby at age 38.
She had 3 more children in the following 5 years.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 01/11/2022 19:45

Got pregnant first time not using protection at 43.

Beachsidesunset · 01/11/2022 19:44

Conceived naturally at 38, 39, 42 and 45. All healthy children. I'm very lucky Smile

pickleandpolish · 01/11/2022 19:43

Everyone being who? They are talking out their arse. You ovaries have not entirely shrivelled up yet! Don't listen to these ignorant people.

Unusually · 01/11/2022 19:42

I conceived first child naturally at 39. I tracked ovulation and took no time.

W00p · 01/11/2022 19:42

You're 36 not 56, as long as everything is "normal" you've got a good chance of falling pregnant.

YourWinter · 01/11/2022 19:41

My mother conceived me unintentionally when she was 36, having already had as many children as she wanted.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/11/2022 19:41

my sister had her first at 36, 10 months after her wedding day. Then her second at 38. Both perfect pregnancies resulting in healthy babies

Geranium1984 · 01/11/2022 19:39

I was 35 when I conceived my 1st, was pregnant on month 2 of trying.
I'm now pregnant with number 2, conceived when I was 37 after 4 months of trying.

Start tracking your periods and do ovulation sticks so you know your cycle well and have a better chance of hitting the right window.

Good luck x

Swedishmeatball · 01/11/2022 19:39

um, every mother in my son’s class? All had a child at 36+ (Some had first child earlier of course). Class of 24, private school and most mums work so possibly case of slightly older cohort.

Dell15 · 01/11/2022 19:38

Yes - loads - myself included! Conceived easily at 33 and again at 36. Equally I know women who have struggled to conceive at much younger age so age is only one factor and is not the defining factor indicative of fertility

sellthesizzle · 01/11/2022 19:37

Conceived naturally at 35 and again at 36 - healthy babies delivered full term.

ncncncnc123 · 01/11/2022 19:36

Conceived first month of trying. We dtd three days in a row while I was ovulating and my guess is the second time was the winner (although I obviously don't know for sure lol)

Crimsonripple · 01/11/2022 19:35

Yep 37. Not trouble falling pregnant.

MsCactus · 01/11/2022 19:35

You're very likely to conceive at 36 after a year of trying - think it's something like 90% at that age will.

How old is your partner? If he's over 40 you're three times more likely to miscarry - if he's in his 20s your chances of conceiving will be much higher.

Either way, your own fertility at 36 will be pretty good
