Just wondering if there are positive stories of you conceiving naturally at 36 ? Everyone is saying that I don’t really have a chance . Thank you

I was 36 when I conceived DS. Very easily. It's not old at all.

Before we started trying , I gave up booze for a year and ate stupidly healthy. I'd like to think that helped me at 39

A woman's peak reproductive years are between the late teens and late 20s. By age 30, fertility (the ability to get pregnant) starts to decline. This decline becomes more rapid once you reach your mid-30s. By 45, fertility has declined so much that getting pregnant naturally is unlikely for most women.

I had my son at 38 and my daughter at 39. Conceived straight away.

bellinisurge · 01/11/2022 20:55

At 39. Five weeks of trying

raffika · 01/11/2022 20:45

I’ll be 36 the day before my 20 week scan (🤞🏻) Had been on the pill for years and years, stopped in May and got my BFP at the start of September. There are loads of success stories, I bet they vastly outweigh the more challenging stories.

Conceived last baby at 36 and that was one time having un protected sex as I had just finished my period and thought I couldn't get pregnant so early in a cycle.

MsPincher · 01/11/2022 20:42

I had my first at 38. Conceived on the first month of trying.

strawberry2017 · 01/11/2022 20:41

36 when I had my second. Ignore the negative people.

moleeye · 01/11/2022 20:41

Had my first at 35 and my second at 39.

It's doable, although I'm 42 now and reckon I could sleep for 100 years 😂

Dancingqueenwannabe · 01/11/2022 20:41

Mine - was told I couldn't conceive naturally... got drunk on gin...doctors were wrong and i had more than a hangover! Xx

Mostmarriedcouple · 01/11/2022 20:39

my sister was concieved at 36 and I was at 38.
u’ll be fine! Stop worrying and start riding! Yeehaw!

allboysmum3 · 01/11/2022 20:36

Unless you've got a fertility issue then you shouldn't have a problem. I have a baby at 27, 34 and 35 and all 3 were carried to term and beyond. I had two miscarriages also 😞.
Best of luck xx

Don't be disheartened, I conceived my 2nd DC on the 3rd month of trying aged 35 and many women don't have trouble in thier 30's and early 40's

WhatAboutGiraffes · 01/11/2022 20:32

I am 36 and DD2 is 10 months old. We fell pregnant on the first try. My cousin had her first at 35 and my grandma had my aunt at 39 and my mum at 41 so I reckon you're well in with a chance.
How old was The Queen when she had Andrew and Edward?

NoWordForFluffy · 01/11/2022 20:29

Took 3 cycles at 36/37. It's definitely very possible.

ghostsandpumpkinsalready · 01/11/2022 20:28

I have very severe pcos and still managed to conceive naturally at age 41. I wasn't even trying as I thought my family was complete.

rebecca100 · 01/11/2022 20:18

I am 35 and currently 14 weeks pregnant with my first, we weren't trying but seemed to conceive quickly with no issues. Good luck!

LBFseBrom · 01/11/2022 20:16

That's ridiculous. Women become pregnant at 36 - and older - all the time.

BabyShaark · 01/11/2022 20:16

Had my first at 41. No problems conceiving, easy pregnancy. But haven’t got pregnant again after that, despite not using contraception, which is probably age related (I’m 44 now). At that age I’d say yes, it’s probably pretty difficult to conceive naturally (albeit not unheard of) but 36 … You’re a spring chicken 😊

Dartsplayer · 01/11/2022 20:15

Conceived after first month of the pill with DS when I was 35. Conceived after 2 months off the pill at 38 with twins

Careeria · 01/11/2022 20:13

38 here. 36 is very normal these days, who are you talking to?

PinkSyCo · 01/11/2022 20:12

I fell pregnant with my 4th child while on the pill at 36! When it comes to childbearing 36 is not old at all these days.

moggerhanger · 01/11/2022 20:08

I had DS at 36, a miscarriage at 37 and DD at 3 months shy of 39. All without much trying, once I'd worked out when I was likely to be ovulating (purely based on counting days since last cycle - no temperature measuring or peering at mucus).

Heretobeanon · 01/11/2022 20:05

Started trying at 36, took 11 months and I conceived at 37. Turns out I had an underactive thyroid, which was making TTC difficult. It probably would have happened sooner without that issue.
