Hey,

It's my second cycle if ivf, I'm on Bemfola 225 iu and it's day 4 of my cycle. Last time I was on Gonal F 150iu. Was wondering if it will produce more eggs now.

Just wanted to ask anyones dosage, the name of their ivf medication and the egg result, home many were retrieved?

@SH998 An update - an embryologist called today, just to go over the details of my transfer, exactly the same info the nurse said yesterday. I did ask him about the blastocyst quality. He said they would never freeze an embryo they didn't believe wouldn't give a good chance of pregnancy. That to them C is average, B is above average and I guess a A is excellent. So I thought I'd share that. As online the literature is different, C is poor.😊

@SH998 Hey, please don't worry about prompt replies, I was more just updating as things were happening to keep you in the loop while it was fresh as I wanted to give you as much detail as some info regarding all this isn't easily available online and doctors I find the least forthcoming.

It's good to hear you had a nice time away, a bit of a refresher may do you the world of good as you restart your fertility journey. So your cycle starts soon? Have you got your meds at home ready? Grade B embryo?

Thanks, I feel like during this process it's emotionally and financially hard, failed attempts, miscarrying, how can you not get upset, but if you put too much emotion in how would you be able to continue? So I do try to take as much emotion out as I can. Go through the motions.

This time has been different, very bloated, like my tummy is huge, just like after my egg collections. Must be the eostrogen. Then couple days after the trigger I fell asleep during the day maybe the HCG, first time thats happened with FET cyclr, only when pregnant.

So yeah it's like my body is the perfect vessel for receiving the embryo, good lining, loads of progesterone...but what does that mean if the embryo isn't normal. We can do everything to our bodies but 95% is down to a healthy embryo. I will test the trigger out. Took a test a day after trigger, it was very positive so will do another test on Wednesday, watch as it fades and if it gets darker I will know for sure.

The plan is on Wednesday to drink loads 3 hours before FET, after I plan on walking for about 20 mins, a woman on YouTube did that after her succesful FET to promote blood flow to uterus. When I got pregnant before I did no mild exercise so I don't believe is one will ensure success but I just want to do something different. So will see how this one goes. I do feel different time.

@Hyppyb sorry for the lack of replies, I was away last week. Kept it to the UK in case period started early and I needed to get home. Had a lovely, chilled week, I definitely needed it before starting this unpredictable journey again lol 😂
Well that’s fantastic news about the lining, just what you need it to be. Wow an 18mm follicle on suppressed meds, that’s unusual but not a bad thing. This will hopefully release additional hormones in keeping with a natural cycle.
How are you feeling with the meds? I tested day 4 on last transfer and the trigger was out of my system as a complete negative but maybe leave it a little later to be on the safe side, you don’t want to be experiencing a fake positive. The countdown is on for the transfer now? How are you feeling about it all?
I know your very level headed and calm about it all, I wish I was lol 😂 x

Hyppyb · 22/06/2023 09:46

@SH998 she also commented that my blood flow was really good so that could be the baby asprin.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 22/06/2023 09:44

@SH998 So I have some news. My medicated FET has become a natural/medicated FET. Day 13, today had 2nd scan, my lining was 8.8mm, I predicted it'd be 8.95 which if I was scanned later in the day not at 8am I would have been. The Nurse Practitioner was thrilled! Saw the 3 layers.

She started scanning my ovaries and my right ovary had a 18.mm follicle. I was like oh no! I thought the follicles had to be suppressed for a medicated cycle. The Nurse was like no its a good thing and it does happens sometimes. It means today I can have the ovitrille (hcg) injection, tomorrow I will ovulate, then this will go in line with the progesterone pessaries I start taking also. So ovulation on that precise day will top up my progesterone levels for sure. It's more that they don't want you to ovulate too early in a natural FET as that would produce progesterone too early, meaning they wouldn't know what time to insert the embryo.

So yeah....a nurse injected me with the hcg, i start progesterone pessaries tomorrow, for 5 days, Wednesday my embryo transfer. I have to remember about the hcg injection as if I forget I'm going to think I'm pregnant from the test if some still remains in my system.

Something different to report 😊

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 19/06/2023 10:45

@SH998 So had my day 10 scan, she said my lining was 6.7mm. Exactly the same as my last day 10. I was hoping the baby asprin would make it thicker than last time. She said my eggs were quiet.

She's told me to come on day 13, Thursday not day 14 like every other FET I've had, for next scan. I get why. It's so that she can say tomorrow day 14 start taking the progesterone rather than me come in day 14 and she say take it ASAP. So very much looking like my FET will be day 19, as its 5 days of progesterone, next day transfer. Next Wendesday.

I've worked out from the past FETs my lining at this point thickens 0.75mm a day so by day 13 in theory it will be 8.95mm and that's fine. Way over the 7.5mm. Did have to make some excuses with work to get Thursday off. Ah well.

So are you expecting your period next week? When does your clinic say to start the eostrogen pills? Well it's all happening soon.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 18/06/2023 12:35

@SH998 Yes scan tomorrow, day 10, first lining thickness and eggs supression check. No real side effects from eostrogen yet. Will be 5 day 4cb this time, which leaves a 6 day 4cb which I read is likely to be a girl. In IVF the best looking and best growing rate is usually a boy but slow growing is usually a girl.

I feel a bit numb to it. As you know I've done this lots of times before. I'm just going through the motions not thinking it's definitely going to happen. I feel like I don't really think about the potential baby anymore more like just going to dentist but better. This time I didn't even have any contact with my patient co ordinator I arranged everything myself.

Baby asprin it's not too late to take now. Some clinics tell their patients to take baby asprin as part of their policy, unless they have other issues where they couldnt take asprin. Some IVF women take it all the time, others start when their cycle starts or start when taking eostrogen, some a week before transfer. I read in the same clinic some doctors will recommend it others wont tell you to take it but all will state that the evidence show it wont cause any harm and that it has helped a minority of women get and stay pregnant. IVF fertility just says it's pointless waiting after transfer. I was told to take one just before bed. It's meant to help get blood to the uterus, to prevent clotting and a thicker lining. Exercise and pomegranate juice is said to help also. I exercise anyway.

So will see if my lining is thicker than last time on day 10, it was 6.7mm and 7mm prior. Day 14 9.7mm. I always make notes on my menstruation app. They want the lining at 7.5mm and over. Usually I have a day 14 scan but hoping I don't have to as will have to make an excuse at work to go.

I booked the 26th to 28th off for my transfer but that's because I didn't know when my period would start, if my transfer is the 28th then I will be working the next day. As you say it doesn't matter. If its going to happen it will. Its 95% down to if the embryo is normal and healthy enough to go through the implantation process, if you are jumping up and down, over heating exerting your body during the implantation process that can have an effect, everything else wont.

Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant at 44. She froze her eggs at 39, they failed the thawing (they weren't embryos which are way stronger) did ivf, then natural and now is pregnant. So if she can we can. 😊

@Hyppyb scan day tomorrow isn’t it, how are you feeling about it? Any side effects from the meds? Have you been making a note of everything this time around? I will be so I’ll have notes for next time around.
What grade egg is being used this time, I want to say a 4cb?
I have booked the day off work this time but will be back in the following day, last time I took the following day off and it made no different. I think I’ll use baby aspirin next time, didn’t you say you need to use 30 days before transfer? If so it’s too late for this cycle x

Hyppyb · 13/06/2023 15:27

@SH998
So started 3 x 2mg estradiol on Sunday. Day 2 of full flow period. So far so good. I start getting affected of the estrogen post transfer. Lots of cramps.

I will only find out the transfer date at a scan when my womb lining is thick enough, I think it's 7.5mm and above or 8.5mm can't remember what the clinics ideal thickness is. My first scan is 19th, next Monday, day 10. Depending on it this they may increase my eostrogen pills (never have) if its too thin. If its progressing OK but not thick enough then I would go back day 14. I'm so hoping the asprin makes my lining thick enough by my first scan.

I'm planning on back to back FETs if I'm not successful this FET, then I think a egg collection in October. Hopefully I won't have to. Its just the rest of the year it will be hard to take time off work now. If I get pregnant this FET I will do a Halloween pregnancy announcement at the time. It's nice to think of positive things.

How are you doing? Have you been googling? Getting prepared for your FET? Before you know it it will be here for sure. Have you decided if you will take time off after for it? One doc described the embryo like a pearl in an oyster. So it really is snug inside once its inside there.

@Hyppyb Oh I'm sorry to hear the additional stress your under with work and home life. I really hope you manage to sot the issues out with the agent, some people have no morals and clearly expect to live there for noting with others footing the bill! I hope your managing to stay zen with all this happening.
On to positive thoughts, hows the meds going so far? You felling OK in yourself? Will you know a more definate transfer date after your scan?

Hyppyb · 09/06/2023 11:38

@SH998 so positive news my period started today, will be in full flow later today / tomorrow. Will start my 3 x 2mg eostrogen tomorrow. So Monday will call clinic to arrange my day 10 scan. That day has been booked off at work as I expected my cycle to go this way. Really hoping i have just the 1 scan. 28th if my lining and eggs behave (suppressed by eostrogen) I imagine is my transfer day. Love the sedation. One thing I will miss about it all. 😆

Baby asprin may lead to my period being heavier due to it being a blood thinner, hopefully not too much, but will see. I am on iron which has got my haemoglobin from 88 to 116.

Had quite a few stresses recently with my job, just been told tenant I rent a flat out to has stopped paying the rent and not communicating with my lettings agent, the flat I rent out the roof needs fixing so a huge bill with the other leaseholders coming. I am going to stay as zen as I can. I don't want it messing with my IVF. I've seen it say stress in some women can block their hormones which can stop ovulation which as you know is soooo bad. No point in causing more stress.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 08/06/2023 13:21

@SH998 I would say try not to think about everything too much, just go with the motions of having the FET, if you get pregnant this time great, if you don't it sucks but you are likely to get pregnant with the remaining embryos as its 1 in 4 that a live baby will come from them and you had 5. With me I don't know if my etopic was that healthy baby so my chances are well reduced but not going to get hung up on that just have to keep moving forward. Go through the motions.

I don't believe my progesterone is low. I've had 3 failed embryo transfers so the docs are just thinking of reasons for it, although they know its doubtful it is as its 95% of failed transfers is the actual embryo, genetic problems. Ive had hormone level checks in the past and was fine.

I don't know if I will have Lubion. A person from the clinic said lubion can only be picked up at 2 clinics in Central London. Sounds crazy to me and if that's true I'm sick of doctors not telling you everything it's happened so many times! I will talk to the doc at a scan, see what they say but I doubt I will check the progesterone levels if that is the case unless there's an alternative like more progesterone suppositories a day to increase progesterone level.

No period yet, I'm hoping I'm full flow Friday but if I'm not I will wing it and make my excuses.I don't really go into FETs believing it will happen, which is good for me keeps me balanced. This time I have started baby asprin quite early 30 days before FET. So will see if that helps like a thicker lining. Also may help with any potential clotting issues not saying that I have any. When I had my last egg collection I was very anaemic, 88 haemoglobin should be 115 and higher, now 116 still have smaller cells. I was thinking I still created blastocysts even though I was that deficient. Hoping they're OK enough to implant if any are normal.

The eostrogen is definitely the one thing that isn't the best about FETs everything else is fine. We'll see.

SH998 · 08/06/2023 12:51

@Hyppyb I thought that the same ate was a good sign too although a little spooky. I'm really trying not to think of it, I still have a few weeks until I'm start taking the meds, the more I think of it the more stressed I get about another failed transfer. I'm happy living in my own little 'oblivious bubble' at the moment :)
This will be the first time I've had Lubion too, its one a day and I assume until 12 weeks but the said they would give me more details on this nearer the transfer date. I too think my progesterone is too low as on both failed transfers I started bleeding/spotting within the week which some say is OK but I still convinced this is playing a factor in it. In fact on the first failed FET I was starting to spot on the day of the transfer with increased spotting 2/3 days later. Luckily I get this through the NHS so unsure how much it is privately, I'm sure private costs mount up that is why I'm trying to do as much as I can via the NHS so once I go private I would have eventually covered a lot of the tests/medications.
Any sign of this months period? I'm hoping it falls on the days you want as easier to align up with days booked off. I've booked the 3 possible transfer days off in July so will cancel the 2 days it doesn't fall on nearer the time.
I have heard that estrogen symptoms similar to pregnancy which is difficult to monitor isnt it :(

Hyppyb · 02/06/2023 13:15

@SH998 I would 1000% see the same due date as before as a good sign like the stars are aligning, fate working together. So you shouldn't fear it but embrace it. 😊 A spring baby is good. I love spring. Symbol of new life so 🤞 my possible due date is mid march.

I've never had Lubion before but this time I was told I would have a progesterone blood test 2 days before transfer and then depending on the hormone level have lubion injections. Have you had Lubion before? How many injections a day is it? How long? I'm guessing it's up to a BFN or 8 to 12 weeks of a BFP. It's pretty expensive if BFP for private patients but if it contributes to BFP then will save money long term wise.

Funny how clinics prescribe different doses.
Day 2 is 3 x eostrogen a day, always been that for me.
Day 14 is 3 x progesterone vaginal pessaries, but you shouldn't worry about when as at my clinic they tell you when at the scan because you start taking them depending on your linings thickness. Usually it's day 14 for me. It has to be 5 days of vaginal progesterone before transfer that essential to mimic the 5 day embryo. That's the most important thing. Then day 6 the transfer. If you had a day 3 embryo then it would be 3 days of vaginal pessaries and you transfer would be earlier like day 17.

If my period starts on the 9th June, my full flow would be the 10th June which is day 1. So my transfer day estimated is the 28th June. I hope it is or earlier if my period comes sooner as I booked 3 days off that week, so if its the 29th I will have to come up with an excuse as my supervisor is off that day already.

I don't plan on resting after, I didn't when I got pregnant either. I was off work the day of the transfer and back to work 2 days later but I really don't think it matters. At the end of the day it's down to the embryo being genetically normal and your womb being receptive to that which it will be as that's why they scan you. As long as your not over exerting your body at time if implantation or over heating it like in a sauna it's all good. I see some women go for long walk after to get the blood flowing to their womb. I will definitely be back to work after my transfer.

Was going to say the eostrogen makes it harder to tell if you are pregnant early on because last time when I was it was a fresh transfer so had no eistrogen and I had sharp cramps and knew I was but estrogen gives those same symptoms.

OP posts:
SH998 · 02/06/2023 11:34

@Hyppyb I was sure she advised the incorrect transfer date too but I have a month to clarify this via email. If my period arrives on time and the transfers is 19 days after then my due date will be 3rd April. That was the exact same due date as the one we lost - I'm not sure if that's a good or bad sign. I was so happy to be having an April baby though so who knows :)
I start 2mg of Progynova twice a day which increases to 3 a day after a few days then again to 4 a day after another few days. I cant remember when she said the Cyclogest starts, my head was mangled leaving there. I get so nervous nothing goes in so again I need to clarify that, I always do this though lol. They did say that the Lubion will start the day of the transfer and they will also insert progesterone after the transfer which I'm sure they haven't done before or at least that hasn't been mentioned to me. This is far more than I've ever had before. What sort of doses are you on?
How thoughtless of your clinic not to mention possible defects, regardless how small this should be your choice to make, thank god you looked into this. I would agree with you, I wouldn't take any chances no matter how small they seem to be.
I can remember that my lining was 8.4 on the first scan with the positive pregnancy, however, I cant remember on the others. I do recall needing 2 scans prior to transfer on all, I really need to start writing it down for future reference. Its always good to have a comparison isn't it.
What's your estimate transfer date? Have you taking any time off for it? I cant see me booking additional days off, the positive pregnancy I went straight to a wedding afterwards so resting up isn't always required.

Hyppyb · 01/06/2023 21:34

@SH998 I looked at InfertilityTV a YouTube channel I always follow because they share case studies and facts. They don't have a video on prednisalone but in another video someone asked in the comments about steroids which prednisalone is and InfertilityTV responded the researched literature shows it useless. Maybe there is a minority of conditions it may help, supposedly the benefits outweigh the risks, like one woman said her friend took prednisalone had a baby and he was born with a cleft palette which prednisalone is known for but says her friend would never have had a baby without taking it. I definitely won't.

I will start today baby asprin, at night, from today, will aid thinning the blood, hoping it will give better lining so thicker results sooner on my first scan so I only go once for my scan not 2 like prior. I've seen women with 12mm day 10. Will work out to be 30 days before transfer taking aspirin and Infertility TV said in a case study more women had successful pregnancies taking asprin than the group that took the placebo drug, although the miscarriage rate was the same, proving baby asprin doesnt cause any harm, so if there were clotting issues in some women the asprin may have helped. InfertilityTV said start post transfer is pointless. My clinic once told me to take it day 14 but other FETs never mentioned asprin. I thought I'd share my medicated FET plans and what I learnt.

@SH998 So another doctor called, went over my blood test, said all was fine but some tests were missing. Clearly not reading my email that explained my GP does not do very specialised blood tests. So the doc said I could do additional tests at the clinic, I said no, that the GP tests was a overall clotting screen and it showed there were no issues, yes there could be a rare clotting issue but the chances are so small and it took 12 weeks to miscarry, the baby held on that long with an injection, clotting issues would be the opposite, people can't stay pregnant and miscarry quickly.

The doc asked do I want to take steroid pills which would stop certain things that may be working against you it's called Prednisolone. I said that sounds good do yes. Came off the phone, started reading and there is a small chance it can cause birth defects, the doc didn't bother telling me that. So I won't be doing prednisalone not told them that just wont ask for prescription. So just a simple medicated FET.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 01/06/2023 15:00

@SH998 Busy is sometimes good. I'm quite busy dealing with the changes at work and covering sickness and people leaving.

I had my treatment consultation, it's a nurse who goes over medication and what to do. Nothing new. The blood tests hadn't been looked at so I was told to send them again. The doc may look over them and say fine go without clotting treatment as overall my clotting tests were fine or may say the GP didn't do certain specific tests so they want me on the clotting treatment.

Im still proceeding with the medicated FET regardless that's what's I've been told. Should get an update in a few days but I'm not like anxiously waiting or fussed really. Day 2 full flow period I would start eostrogen. As I said before i would only transfer one embryo as i don't want triplets or quads. It's also against the clinics recommendation to do 2. No nothing will change with my FET will be same as the last 3 times except testing for progesterone. I don't really feel anything about my FET, it's like here I go again. I think I'd be surprised to get pregnant. I've even bought cheap tests rather than the more expensive ones that detect 6miu.

That's a shame your period came early. Yea you were definitely given the wrong transfer date. It's usually day 19 to 22 of your cycle for a 5 day embryo transfer. Last time mine was day 19. It depends on how quickly your lining gets thick. Day 22 would be if your lining has taken quite long to thicken. Eostrogen gives you more time. I've always needed a second scan as my lining is never over 7.5mm the first scan. My plan is to take baby asprin from day 1. Your chances are really good, as I said before the doc said 1 out of 4 is usually a healthy baby. So your baby is likely one of your embryos.

Hope you are feeling positive. Before you know it your period will be here and another FET.

@Hyppyb sorry for the time it’s taken me to reply, it’s been a busy few weeks with one thing or another.
Is it tomorrow your treatment consultation is? Is this to go through your plan? Do you think they will suggest anything different? Great news about your blood results, they came back a hell of a lot quicker than mine did lol 😂. At least that’s something you can tick off the list. So do you think you will start meds on 9th June? If so, when’s the estimated transfer date? Please let me know what they suggest to see how it compares to mine. You decided on 1 or 2 yet embabies yet? It’s always going to be a tough call to make and only you know what’s best for you.
Well I had my treatment plan today, period turned up 3 days early so can’t start this month, estimated period start date is 26th June, im sure they gave me the incorrect potentially transfer date as she said 10th July, didn’t realise until I left so have a month to question this. We have 3 frozen so hopefully 1 will work, we are only putting one in this time but who knows next time around.
How are you feeling about the next try? X

Hyppyb · 30/05/2023 13:23

@SH998 So had my blood tests results back from the GP, did take a week. 😊 Everything was fine. My haemoglobin was 116, should be 115 or more, just normal after taking iron pills. Some cells are smaller than normal but doc said the pills i take online is what they would recommend. My heavy periods is continuing to cause my haemoglobin from being higher. The clotting test he said was normal, when I looked there was one number that said 25.8 when should be 26 above but it said normal for patient.

I've emailed clinic with results. My treatment consultation is Thursday but it's just with a nurse. So will see if the email has got to the doctors by Thursday. Looking like I will proceed without clotting treatment.

So you have 2 embabies left? Is the plan to put them all in at once? When I spoke to 2 separate doctors they were pretty against me doing it but said I could. I won't only because I don't want to end up with triplets or quads. 😆 the PGT testing the last doctor didn't show any bias one side or another. However my first ivf cycle I mentioned it to another doc she said it will narrow down your embryos, now I would say but that shouldn't matter if the tests are accurate, you know exactly what embryo is normal. They only take cells from the placenta not the fetus. I've read about women with 5AA embabies that tested as abnormal but 4CB be tested as normal.

Hope you are looking more forward to it all. I worked out if my next one is successful it's due mid March.

@SH998 just sharing my treatment consultation is next Thursday, exactly a week before my period is due on the 9th June, really hoping I have the main tests back regarding clotting from GP as dont want to start and stop meds, I was happy to just take the meds regardless of what the tests say. The doc said they would ask me to stop the meds if negative. Would be such a waste of money.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 24/05/2023 15:03

@SH998 so I was told it would take a week to get the blood test results, so Tuesday, but as some are a little different it may take longer, but the very specialised tests the GP said they can't do its not available to them so I'm hoping that means the ones I did will take a week or less.

Sometimes I wonder would the pregnancy in an unknown location if was in the right place was a healthy embryo, if it wasn't normal then the odds are back in my favour that the remaining 2 embryos at least one is healthy.

I don't think you should worry about spotting messing with your cycle, remember when you do an FET they check your lining, eggs are suppressed, that your body is where its supposed to be, if you are concerned you can do what I'm doing which is a progesterone test just before transfer and if it's too low then then can start progesterone injections. They use to be scary large needles with oil that are injected into the muscle but they're now tiny. Phew!

I realised my next predicted period date is wrong, because its looking at my last cycle which was 34 days because of the eostrogen when my cycle is usually 26 days. Treatment consultation are every Tues and Thurs so will book one if I can next Thursday, a week before my period, also hopefully after blood tests arrive.

I've been told I will still have a job but it will be different. Its my whole department affected. Getting pregnant, maternity leave I clearly want and need stability. My job is very close to where I live, also nurseries are close so it's perfect. Really hoping I stay. It's hanging over me and my colleagues. I don't want any underlying stress messing with me during trying to conceive. It doesn't help clearly.

OP posts:
SH998 · 24/05/2023 08:25

@Hyppyb how did your bloods go? Did they advise a time scale for the results. I was initially told 3 weeks but took almost 8, apparently they are quite in depth so needs a little longer.
Would be great if we were going through it the same time and both had positive results. I'm not confident and not looking forward to it. My cycle has been strange this month which hasn't happened for a few months. I've started spotting a week before my period is due, not a lot but enough to notice, this does happen sometimes so nothing new but I'm concerned that this might be an issue, maybe hormones are not quite right but the clinic doesn't see an issue and say all looks OK. This has further made me doubt the next transfer.
I'm sure all will work out fine with your job, you have a few months to act on it and decide what's best for you.

@SH998 meant to say yeah if all goes to plan my transfer will be the beginning of the last week of June so our embryo transfers will be very close.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 23/05/2023 08:21

@SH998 some fertility doctors recommend you don't test your embryos. The doctor on Sunday he was like it's an option and he has to give me the option but wasn't going to say he thinks I should or shouldn't. Testing does not make you have a baby more, it's not 100%, normal tested embryos sometimes fail because they're really abnormal. I think if you're lucky and the test points out the genuine embryos then it will save time and money, but that wouldnt ncrease your chance of a baby as that same embryo would still be put inside you anyway if tested or not.

OK so I have the gp blood test in an hours time. I need confirmation when the blood test results will be ready. Reason why is I can now book my treatment consultation but I want the blood results before that. The doc said they will stop the anti clotting treatment if my tests come negative. I don't want to start to stop and pay out £400 on meds it's a waste. I don't want to book the treatment consultation too late as if the test is positive for clotting issues then I don't want the meds to come too late because I had the treatment consultation too late.

So my job there's still a need for the work but they want to give the work elsewhere and for me to do other things. It's early days and the changes may happen in November so waiting to see.

How are you doing? How you feeling about your FET?
