Hey,

It's my second cycle if ivf, I'm on Bemfola 225 iu and it's day 4 of my cycle. Last time I was on Gonal F 150iu. Was wondering if it will produce more eggs now.

Just wanted to ask anyones dosage, the name of their ivf medication and the egg result, home many were retrieved?

@Hyppyb i really don’t want to get your hopes up but I really do think that’s a positive. You can see it dipped and fades to the point of almost being non existent on the middle tests then it gets stronger again. There is absolutely no way that the trigger can still showing in your system that strongly now!
Those strips appear to be showing better than the plastics ones but then it might be the lighting on them not making them clear to me. You can obviously see them better than I can.
Im so pleased for you. I know you don’t want to get your hopes up and face any disappointment so I’ll be excited for you :)
Do you have any period symptoms? Did the wind continue this afternoon?
On my failed ones I started bleeding within 7 days so knew before I even tested.

@SH998 So I am none the wise, it’s like the HCG has plateaued over the last couple days, if it was just the trigger it shouldnt be doing that it should be fading day by day. By now it’s gone or very little. I feel it’s more what a pregnancy would do as in the trigger fading then the real pregnancy taking over slowly. What’s interesting is in a normal month my period would be due in over a day away, Thursday because I have a 26 days cycle but because of ivf they do it as a 28 day cycle.

I took the strips out of the plastic case to have a better look and the strips showing nothing obvious. The line this evening is kind of strong I think.

@SH998 i just tested on the plastic tests. This morning and this evening. I would say they’re very similar but this evening might be a little darker just a little. I know you can’t really see. I’m still not convinced. Maybe strips tonight will be clearer.

@SH998 I totally get that. I was the same. For me I always wanted to be in a relationship, then when my mum died, I had no immediate family at 31, it panicked me the idea of never having family again so I started online dating and I dated for like 4 years and I HATED it. Most men wouldn't talk to me, the ones that did were perves, the small minority I went on dates with were very socially awkward, the ones where I felt it wasn't too bad had huges issues. It was really upset and fustrating. I wanted a relationship but not the dating part.

Of course if I met a decent guy I would have enjoyed dating him and i think im more designed for a friend who becomes more. I also realised my panick wasnt really about a romantic relationship it was about running out of time to be a mum. At 35 I was like I'm not going to date anymore I'm going to have a child by myself. But I had to sell my mums house and buy a new one, that took time I was 37 by then, then covid, then at 38 I started. Thought I'd get pregnant at least 3 IUIs didn't happen.

I agree about the lack of donors esp during covid. It was empty the banks. Lot of the criteria I was looking for one donor did not meet, like good eyesight, no allergies, etc I really wanted someone raised in the UK a lot were abroad. I didn't want to have to teach my kid about being German or Polish. 😁

I was born here and my ethnicity is Jamaican, i was OK with having my donor be Jamaican or English. As then I wouldnt have to teach them about their culture really. That was hard to find. In the end I was like you will never find the perfect man. My donor is English white , 6"2, good eyesight, blonde, police office, was in the army , I have a 20 min audio of his interview, his handwriting, I know more about his medical health than I would a husband 😂 I cried at the end of his audio as he said the only thing that would disappoint him is if he's offspring was unhappy and wasn't doing whatever it was to be happy.

I didn't check my CMV, but I chose a donor who doesn't have it anyway. To have free IVF you have to have a partner where you've tried to conceive for 2 years so single women don't get it for free.

I will let you know but I really don't think much will have changed.

@Hyppyb CMV is it lol 😂

SH998 · 04/07/2023 16:45

@Hyppyb I had no issues with being single, loved the independence of it. The only thing upsetting me about being single was the fact that I couldn’t have children, or so I though. How times have changed for the better in the last few years. I did look into a donor at one point but was shocked by the lack of donors or maybe it was the donors with the same colouring as myself I struggled with. Blond hair, blue eyes, there was maybe 10 out of 70 that fitted my criteria but as I was CRM or GRM or something like that negative it reduced it to about 4 possible donors.
Also as was via NHS I think they have further limitations. Did you have the same issues?
Please let me know what the 9oclock results are or I wouldn’t be able to sleep lol

Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 15:46

@SH998 i can see why you would have been so confident that your next transfer would be successful after your very first being an actual pregnancy, especially after not naturally getting pregnant. My first ivf, I got no blastocysts, 1 x 3 day embryo, hugely because the doctor only accessed 1 ovary. That FET failed. So I was not confident. Then I got onto a cheaper clinic, was thrilled as you had to be 39 and under and I was 2 months away, my egg collection I woke up they said we’ve accessed both your ovaries, which lead to 4 blastocysts and I got pregnant.

Believe me I wasn’t saying I was missing out in not having a partner, 😂what I was saying is most women if they want to keep a pregnancy secret they can bounce off on their partner with the secret. They might not tell friends. As I am single the alternative to a partner to share this with is a friend. No I don’t feel I’m missing out on having a partner at all, there is so many benefits to being single having a baby, I grew up with my mum, I met my dad at 17, so I feel like I’m the perfect person to do this. Also grieving the loss i was able to move on more easier and on my own accord without a partner possibly grieving to, having to look after them, etc…some People underestimate being single like it’s a sad thing but it’s really not.

i will test probably around 9pm, I find in the evening the line is similar to the morning test. It’s crazy if this trigger has stayed with me for 12 whole days. I know sometimes women post photos of their test and say could it be the trigger at 12 days and a person will say doubtful the line shouldn’t be that strong now but my test today was faint. As you say it HCG does double if healthy.

OP posts:
SH998 · 04/07/2023 15:10

@Hyppyb Yes, my positive was my first embryo from a fresh cycle. My second was a FET which I knew by day 2 it had failed, was more confident with my third transfer which was a fresh but that failed too. I think i was a little cocky after the first positive, I thought it would happen again that easily, how wrong was I!As I've had both fresh and frozen fail I'm not confident with either now.
The do say it takes 2 days for HCG to increase so if your first implanted successfully at 2/3 days that would explain how you knew by 4/5 days. If this is a late implanter then your HCG levels might not be high enough to detect yet.
You have been through so much the last few months, I cant imagine how frightening it must have been especially to be dealing with most of it alone. Mind you, are men any use at things like that? My partner would probably have buckled at the first hurdle lol
I'm confident that it will be a clear positive tomorrow, only another 14 hours or so to wait lol
Will you test again this evening? If so, what time are you thinking?

Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 13:37

@SH998 so both me and you got pregnant on a fresh cycle.... I did start questioning if frozen FETs were as successful as fresh when i got pregnant with a fresh and not with a frozen, the research shows they are as good and frozen is better for people with conditions like OHSS and decreases chance of an ectopic. I did hear too frozen the embryo implants later sometimes. 6DPT I've got placenta cells begin to secrete hcg as embryo finished implantation by day 5 but early or late implanters will be different. My last was very early 2dpt to 3dpt I could feel it implanting.

I'm so skeptical about believing im pregnant. I'm just very jaded from last time also. Being told collapsing, bleeding out and dying could happen, living with that for 10 weeks, waking up in severe pain, with inadequate pain relief, not knowing if it had ruptured, like the pregnancy was actually deadly to my body. If I was younger I would have taken a break. Traumatising. But I jumped right back in to it because of my age.

If I am, I'm probably going to tell less people, last time I told 4 close people. I am single so i don't have a partner to bounce off. So I know I need to tell someone early on even if it ends badly again.

It is weird how dark the test line got yesterday compared to today or the day before. Hopefully it's not a chemical pregnancy. So hard to tell with the trigger.

Thanks 😊 imagine having xray vision like superman to be able to look in there 🤣

@Hyppyb that photo was from a fresh cycle, I didn't even test out the trigger at the time. It was my transfer so was very niave and clueless to a lot of the processes ... I've wised up hugely since then lol.
They do also say that frozen take longer to implant so might see delayed HCG, how true this is I don't know as I've never tested positive from a frozen.
I'm sure wind is a pregnancy/implantation symptom or so I've read. Something different is a good sign. Its difficult to say whether its pregnancy related or the meds.
I'm feeling really positive about this :)

Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 11:09

@SH998 Update - I’m working from home and I’ve had all this wind all of a sudden in my stomach, it’s quite high up like under my ribs to the top of my stomach. When I move around in my chair I’m so uncomfortable. So could be the meds or could be pregnancy symptoms. Last pregnancy I was only on progesterone not eostrogen and at 5 weeks I had lot of bloating and wind. That was my only symptom. I think my pregnancy strip is lighter than 5DPT but same as 4DPT. The plastic there are definitely 2 lines, which means HCG still present if this was without the trigger I’d be thrilled on those results. Will test this evening and see.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 08:39

@SH998 Yeah, the photo the pregnancy test is very faint but there was definitely a visible line on your day 7. Was that time a frozen transfer or fresh? My pregnancy was a fresh so I had the trigger a few days before for egg collection.

Hopefully by tomorrow I should know. If its darker that would be the ideal scenario. If its lighter or gone then I still have to keep testing until my period is due I think Friday or Saturday. This has definitely been my most unsure pregnancy testing. Last time 4dpt looked negative on the day, 6dpt there was a line so I knew but 4dpt a few days later after it dried a line appeared. Could be the trigger or was the start of a positive.

If I am pregnant then I need to arrange an appointment with the EPU regarding possible ectopic reccurance. But it's like wait and chill until I know. I was only at the EPU in February.

Only 2 days until your scan....

@Hyppyb above is a better example, very faint at day 7.

SH998 · 04/07/2023 07:31

@Hyppyb admittedly, looking at the above now it is quite clear, I maybe should have uploaded another one taken after this which you could hardly see the line (different light/different room - I think this also makes a difference). A Clearblue wouldn't help as it will possibly show positive due to the trigger. I think tomorrow will be the telling day, if the line is still there then I would take that as a positive, surely there is no way the trigger would be in your system on day 13. I know that doesn't help as that means another sleep before you get your answer :(

Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 07:24

@SH998 I can definitely see your pregnancy strip was positive at 7 days. Like you over the last few years ive seen so many negatives so know what a positive looks like. My last pregnancy I knew I was pregnant for sure at 6dpt as the line was darker, the previous days were very faded after the trigger shot.

Yeah I think the clinic either overdosed me with HCG so it's stayed in my system for a very long time or as you say the real pregnancy is continuing to give a positive test. It's tricky as it's impossible to know if there's a chemical pregnancy if one happened.

Really is a waiting game to know if I am. If I took the clearblue it will say I am but could be the fake hcg.

OP posts:
SH998 · 04/07/2023 07:24

@Hyppyb this was taken at 11.45am on day 7 so give it a little time, try not to compare to the past pregnancy as they are different each time.

@Hyppyb

What IVF dose and how many eggs did you get?
SH998 · 04/07/2023 07:13

@Hyppyb maybe yours hasn't faded so much as they used more than the normal dosage when they triggered, therefore, the HCG your producing is continuing the line. Again the plastic strips are not very clear and I cant see much but the other strips there is definately a line. There is a big difference between the 4 day and 5 day line. The 4 day is almost non existent then appears clearly again on the 5dp. I can see a line from this morning too. I found on my positive the strips did get darker in time but there was still a clear line and they were still a positive.
I honestly think its a positive sign, believe me I've seen hundreds of negative tests over the years of trying and none looked like them on day 5 and 6. I could hardly see mine on day 7 when mine was positive so give it a little time. Ill try to download my day 7 positive and you can see how faint that was. Anyone else looking at it probably wouldn't have seen the line but I've seen so many negatives I knew it was positive.

Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 06:37

@SH998 a photo of a woman’s test strips on YouTube testing out her trigger, it fades, goes negative and then it returns. Mine is nothing like that.

Hyppyb · 04/07/2023 06:24

@SH998 you beat me to waking up. I woke up about 5am. Then tried to get back to sleep and couldn't really.😆

Yeah my prior pregnancy the HCG stayed in my body for 12 weeks but that's because even though it went wrong fetal tissue and cells were still generating producing hcg. Every week after the methotrexate injection I had to get a blood test to ensure it was decreasing. So yeah HCG can definitely stay in your body for a long time. With the trigger shot it should flush out of your system daily, as there's no pregnancy to aid more HCG.

Update - 6DPT and 12 days past trigger. I don't know still. I'm still testing positively, it's not gotten darker, it looks the same on the plastic test as yesterday and the strips it looks like it may have faded a little or maybe it's stayed the same as older tests dry so look darker than when you originally take them so the newer one can look lighter. Part of me is like it's the trigger and part of me is like it could still be a pregnancy as at 6DPT a real positive it would be a faint line you get or even a negative this early.

I read in a forum a woman had the hcg shot with time intercourse, 12 days later had a positive and was skeptical so spoke with a nurse who said 12 days it should be out of your system so take it as a positive. I take this as a positive that there's even a second line but where it didn't fade or have a negative in between makes it hard to believe I am. It really has to get darker for me to believe it. If its like this by Friday or whenever they will call then I guess I have to believe it a little.

The clinic may call me they didn't yesterday. They do frown on testing early so I won't tell them. Its more just a symptom check up.

In limbo. What do you think? What do you think of the photos?

@Hyppyb I’ve woken early to message lol how’s todays test looking?
Im worse than you, not stopped thinking about it and I’ve even dreamt your test is positive 🙈.
I made the mistake of constantly testing to check the test line was still there, at the time unbeknown to me that the HCG stays in your system for sometime even when things are not good. I learnt a lot from the miscarriage so will be a lot more cautious next time

Hyppyb · 03/07/2023 17:03

@SH998 4CB has a 33% chance of pregnancy while a 4AA has a 65% chance so if I am as you say don't get hung up on embryo grading, it's a beauty contest really.

OP posts:
Hyppyb · 03/07/2023 16:41

@SH998 So the general rule is they will only introduce progesterone if your lining is thick enough and meets their criteria. My clinic's criteria is 7.5mm and above. Once they introduce the progesterone it's a must that you are on it for 5 days and the 6th day thats your transfer. So if your lining is thick early on its day 19 the transfer, but if its not thick enough they can actually wait until day 22. Sounds like day 19 is likely as you have no lining issues. At least you have things in between, your scan and then starting progesterone to keep you preoccupied.

Some clinics baby asprin is part of their policy others it's not, some docs in the same clinic recommend it others in the same clinic turn their noses up at it but all will say it won't affect anything. I saw in a forum a pregnant woman said her midwife was shocked she wasn't prescribed baby asprin to prevent miscarriages and pre eclampsia. It's hit and miss with the heathcare system. Like my friend she has a wide cervix so all her pregnancies she had a stitch but also she was on vaginal pessaries not because she was prescribed them her doc didn't mention them but because she looked it up online and found other women with the same condition taking them. Crazy...😒 I don't rate how pregnant women are treated. Like i was left in a waiting area for 6 hours even though i told them I was having an etopic pregnancy. To me that's like saying sharp pains in the chest. It's do deadly.

You are worst than me. 🤣 My last pregnancy I tested once a day. This FET twice a day but I thought the evening would be quite diluted so get a fainter line. But I am at a stage where if any line in the evening is showing that's definitely good.

Tomorrow is 12 days past trigger....I feel like surely I will know tomorrow. Unless the clinic injected me with too much hcg. It wasn't prefilled. It was in a syringe. So maybe...
