Hey hey, making this thread to lead on from last months. I’m 1 or 2 dpo today and I’m going to try and not symptom spot this month!! Also going to try my best to not test until 12dpo at the earliest!

what DPO are you all?

I actually saw it develop and ran up the stairs to
Hubby! It's a bit surreal.

ScaredSally · 09/01/2023 17:09

@PPop congratulations! That's definitely positive and about the right colour for 13dpo

Wrenegade · 09/01/2023 16:42

@PPop that is positive! Congratulations. Such happy news. 13dpo is fine, I had my bfp at 9dpo - baby is doing well.

PPop · 09/01/2023 16:30

And is it okay I'm 13DPO predicted? Gonna have a digital test tomorrow!

Emmalou0607 · 09/01/2023 15:55

Ah @PPop that looks like a very clear positive!! Congratulations!!

PPop · 09/01/2023 15:44

Okay so it's 3.37 I took this and I checked it around 4.41/2 (I got excited and ran to DH) pee looked relatively dark. Could this be real? Predicted period due it tomorrow??

@PPop they were able to detect on the sonograph, I have forgotten the terms she used but basically the ovary which released the successful egg looks different to the other ovary which I also find fascinating.

There is still plenty of time for you to test positive, implantation is usually 8-10 dpo and then it takes 2 days for the hormone to rise enough to be detectable. But yes do reach out after six months, I think most people don’t know that this changes with age. I imagine it is the most comforting to know that you are there to listen to her when she needs it. Sadly there isn’t too much anyone can do to take away the pain but sharing it can help ease it.

PPop · 05/01/2023 14:34

@Wrenegade ohh how lovely!! How did they know what ovary etc? I'm so interested in this process!

I did a test this morning as I'm predicted 10DPO and bfn so at least in 2 months I can head to the doctors and get some checks done since I'm 35 already! (Ew) so thank you for that information.

Thank you to everyone on the support with my sister it's nice to be able to voice it I'm trying to send her messages of support and encouragement but it's such a difficult situation as I've found her to calm up a lot, just heart broken I think.

Wrenegade · 05/01/2023 14:28

@PPop sorry to hear about your sister, such heartbreaking news. Three miscarriages is the usual but I know that these things change with age. So over 35 it is a little bit different and instead of a year it reduces to TTC for 6 months before getting a fertility check. It is worth a try.

Thank you all for the support. Today is feeling like a less sicky day for the first time since the 18th of December. We got to meet baby on a scan this morning, slightly further along than we thought at 8 weeks 2 days. Meaning conception happened 4/5dpo, they anlso came from the right ovary and I was convinced it was the left. Everything is looking healthy.

PPop · 05/01/2023 09:10

Thank you @Mortima I will pass that on!

I must admit having not gotten pregnant yet and this happening is getting to me a bit... 🤦‍♀️ I am getting a little nervous that it isn't happening!

I know 4 attempts isn't many but it feels loads!

Mortima · 05/01/2023 09:05

Ah that's shit @PPop - she is probably right about the 3 miscarriages, but might be worth trying her GP anyway, or talking to Tommy's: www.tommys.org/baby-loss-support/miscarriage/your-care-after-1-or-2-miscarriages

PPop · 04/01/2023 19:21

So sorry @Emmalou0607 take care of yourself!

My sister sadly had another miscarriage 😞 I have said that she needs to get someone to have a look at her now as she is 37 but she seems to think she cannot get help until she's had 3! I feel awful for her!

Ohhh @Wrenegade hopefully they find something to ease that, I know someone who had that before and it did pass at around 12 weeks if that's any consolation!!

Mortima · 04/01/2023 19:03

@Emmalou0607 So sorry AF came lovely - I think getting the fertility checks started now is a great idea given your medical history, hopefully it will give you some answers or put your mind at rest.

@Wrenegade Oh no, you poor thing! Glad you've got the diagnosis at least. We have a HG unit in my maternity hospital, and I'm hoping I won't need it (not vomiting excessively but the nausea is constant). I've got a different medication to try as Cyclizine did nothing for me - interested to know if the injection helps you. Best of luck at EPU tomorrow

Emmalou0607 · 04/01/2023 14:44

Not sure yet @Wrenegade it doesn't normally fully hit me till I tell my DH.

I think I'm going to pay for a private fertility MOT for both of us (no idea how long the wait times for that would be on the nhs as I doubt it would be a priority) although it's only 6 months of TTC and I'm 32, I have had quite a few major bowel surgeries all around the lower part of my stomach and have seen that there is possibility of this causing issues with fertility so I'd rather get started finding out if that is the case early on. At least if it's not an issue I can not stress about it and if it is, then we start making a plan sooner rather than later.

Glad your starting to feel better now you've had some treatment! Doesn't sound too pleasant for you. Keep everything crossed for as little sick as possible for you!

Wrenegade · 04/01/2023 14:16

@Emmalou0607 sorry that AF came. How are you feeling about it?

I spent the night in an A&E ward, I’ve been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. I knew that the amount of sickness I was experiencing wasn’t a ‘normal’ amount. Feeling much better after the IV and sickness injections. Having a scan at the EPU tomorrow to check everything is ok with baby 🤞🏻 In the meantime I’m going to try get through today without being sick too much.

Emmalou0607 · 04/01/2023 09:05

Right on que as expected AF arrived this morning 😔

PPop · 03/01/2023 18:37

Fingers crossed for you@Emmalou0607 I'm on DPO 8 predicted as I'm not 100% sure when I ovulated this month. I'm amazed you have held off testing I'm already wondering if it's too early! 😂

MillieKitty · 03/01/2023 17:31

Got everything crossed for you @Emmalou0607

Emmalou0607 · 03/01/2023 17:12

So I think AF is due tomorrow (last 2 months luteal phase was 12 days 3 cycles prior were 11days - currently 12dpo) but. I did ovulate a couple of days earlier so cycle will be sorted than normal if it comes tomorrow.

Not sure I'm feeling too positive at the moment. Got no symptoms so I've sort of just settled with the idea it's not our month again

Wrenegade · 03/01/2023 13:29

Such wonderful news @Mortima I’m so pleased it is ok. I was thinking of you yesterday, hope you’re feeling settled today.

PPop · 03/01/2023 13:28

Ohhh thank goodness!! I thought of you yesterday and this morning and hoped all was okay! I'm so relieved for you, did they give you a rough idea of how far you are @Mortima ?

MillieKitty · 03/01/2023 13:19

Oh @Mortima I'm so so relieved! So happy everything is okay with bubba! 🥰

Emmalou0607 · 03/01/2023 12:35

Oh that's such good news @Mortima really happy for you, such a relief!

Mortima · 03/01/2023 12:31

Sorry I didn't update yesterday - but thankfully, everything is fine!

EPU scanned me and baby is definitely in the right place, and they couldn't see anything else wrong with ovaries etc. Pain has also disappeared as quickly as it started, so I've no idea what it was - they suggested maybe stretching ligaments? They probably think I was just being dramatic, but it really was agony .
I'm so grateful, had really convinced myself it must be an ectopic. Thanks for everyone's kind words!
