Hi ladies. I have started to feel a little overwhelmed with our usual thread and we are at different stages of our journeys now. Please feel free to leave this one if you don't feel the same but I feel so invested in your journeys and don't want to miss any news. Hoping this is ok, I don't think you can do DM as a group?
Hope you are all doing well and if there's anyone I've missed from the usual bunch feel free to add 😘😘😘

@TheBirdintheCave I followed government guidance too and am fully vaccinated (front line worker) but have been putting of dose 4. Still caught it though. Booster 4 scares me I seen patients taken to hospital with allergic reactions but hospital wont comment on the vaccine. Hopefully all the vaccines and catching it twice I should have some immunity now 🤞just me being a cynic here..hope your DH is powering through this xx

TheBirdintheCave · 26/10/2022 07:31

@MrsCristianoX I don't know :( We're both fully vaxxed anyway as my dad is immunocompromised so we can't afford to take any risks when we go up to visit. Guess the vaccine (or my husband's already shit immune system) couldn't stand up to Omicron :(

TheBirdintheCave · 26/10/2022 07:30

@FfayeN We've always used Preseed and it's never made a difference :( I had a look at Access Fertility but I can't afford two rounds of IVF, just one and then maybe some frozen transfers (which will put us in enough debt as it is). I was hoping Gaia Fertility would be able to help us but you have to commit to five or six rounds through them which is even worse.

Finally managed to fall asleep at 2am and now I'm up for work and am so so tired 😭

MrsCristianoX · 26/10/2022 06:50

@TheBirdintheCave huge virtual hugs lovely.. you sound as miserable as me this month ❤️ gotta keep the faith x I read that article on covid and sperm too. It's terrifying but is it to make sure we all jab up?? I don't believe much I read about covid anymore xx

FfayeN · 26/10/2022 04:52

@TheBirdintheCave please don't give up! There is absolutely a point in trying for these three months! Studies are based on an average person...and let's face it they are few and far between and I imagine not enough studies have been done in relation to it! Where there's sperm and ovulation there is always a chance! Could you invest in some pre-seed as well as the fertilily for this last lot of tries? Or is there anything DH can do to improve his motility?
Are you in the U.K.? Have a look at Access Fertility, it's basically payment options for IVF, so if unsuccessful you get your money back or, they offer a really good price for more than one cycle.
I think @Indianna2006 is right, all is not lost yet 🥰 xxx

@Indianna2006 Except I know that my husband's sperm is already rubbish so even a small impact will have a huge toll on our already pathetic odds :( I can't sleep now. I'm just crying in the guest room like an idiot.

Indianna2006 · 26/10/2022 00:00

@TheBirdintheCave deffo point in bothering. I worried about that when we both got it. And asked in the pregnancy board. And loads of women said they got pregnant after their partner having covid not long before.
we both had it feb. I fell pregnant in March. And may. So I think a lot of that is crap. I think it’s only likely to affect it if they were very poorly with it and had an off the scale temperature.basically just do not google things cos it sends us off our rocker 🙈😂

Fertilily is the way to go. I rave about mine 🥰😂

TheBirdintheCave · 25/10/2022 23:51

@Indianna2006 I've just been reading articles about sperm and covid infections. Apparently we may as well not bother trying for the next three months as according to studies my husband will not have viable sperm until February now 😭 We were only going to try for three more months. I count December as cycle 12 as that's when we started last year but I was going to go up until cycle 13 to see if the Fertility made any difference. Literally no point in even bothering now.

Indianna2006 · 25/10/2022 23:23

@TheBirdintheCave ultimately it will be what it will be. We can get het up on our age and age gaps. But it is to some extent uncontrollable.
i under stand the wanting a set gap thing. Cos I did. But honestly it really won’t matter. Not to obviously downplay how you feel and what you want.
i just mean whether it’s 3.5 years compared to 3. Will make bugger all difference. An it won’t determine the siblings getting along.
bigger gap between my sister. We’re best of friends. My DH and his brother only 2.4 years. Never really ever get on. A sibling is a sibling whatever the gap. Just try remember that.

also my 4 year old today I could of bloody sold her on eBay 😂😂🤯 the attitude on a 4 year old. Alas I hope she gets better before baby arrives an axrually matures some. I do NOT want to deal with two brats on a daily basis 😂 I can only manage one brat.

I have a good memory 🙂 see, I think cycle 7 is still early days. I took 7 cycles basically 8 really to fall after my first mmc and get my DD and I was 26/ 27 so much younger than I am now. And took 11 to get the one I miscarried in April similiar time to you I think. And then it only took 3 cycles again!! Stupid!!!

i guess what I’m saying is IVF is a lot of money. On like sometimes one shot. Which you can do for free every month. I think if you go for 12 cycle and give yourself a fair chance you will be pregnant 🙂🙂

and if not. Then consider it. But I think if you give yourself enough chance it will happen naturally as it has twice before. That’s what I think I’d do anyway.

it is difficult with due dates as mine was Nov too for the mc baby. And as each month passes. The doubt creeps in and the sadness. And you start to despair. It’s all normal.

but also why we’re here to say hey. It’s only been 6 cycles. Only 6 goes. Give yourself a break. Keep going 💪🏻 (That’s to all of you as well🥰)

that’s my pep talk over for today 😂😂😂😂
sorry for that long post.
over and out! 🥰

TheBirdintheCave · 25/10/2022 23:11

@Indianna2006 Both really :/ I don't want to feel too old and I don't want the gap to be larger than three years between Gilbert and a potential sibling.

Also, well remembered! 😂 The miscarriage was in April so this cycle will be number seven. Unless Covid ruins it for me. My husband has a week to recover 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Our due date for the baby we lost was Nov 3rd (our wedding anniversary) so I suppose I'm also feeling a bit shit about that at the moment as it's rapidly approaching :(

Indianna2006 · 25/10/2022 23:00

@MrsCristianoX yes deffo looked like that month for you it geared to ovulate. Didn’t. Do it then it did it again a few days later.
i think temp tracking works well. Once you know your cycle and you’ve done a few. Ie like I said. I always get a ride day after ovulation in temps. Some ppls can take 2/3 days to rise and show it properly as they have what’s called a slow rise. Mine was always sharp and very obvious. Helps to pinpoint tho when it happened.

@TheBirdintheCave aww hun. It’s so so hard and it is a lot of money.
i know you were then moving onto ivf when your son was conceived. Was it like 16 months stc? But sometimes for some ppl that can be normal. It’s only slightly over what they say is normal for fertile couples. An obv you fell fairly quickly this time. I now you lost it. An haven’t fallen again since. Remind me how long it’s been since mc? I guess what I mean is don’t lose hope! Feels too early for you to lose hope it will happen again naturally?
I know your husband had some sperm issues before. But you got pregnant. Twice. So you can. To me. That’s positive signs.

Or do you feel in a major rush to get it done. Ie age gap of children and your own age?

TheBirdintheCave · 25/10/2022 22:52

Just spent a few hours mulling over IVF and whether I can mentally afford to essentially set fire to £10k (cheapest I can find for one fresh and one frozen cycle which is max what we could afford) in the hopes of getting another child. I don't believe it will work I suppose and then I'll be reminded of our failure for years in repayments.

I wish we'd actually gone through IVF the first time round like we were meant to as then we might have had frozen embryos ready for transfer and would be paying a fraction of the cost to have one put back :( I love my son but it seems the surprise timing of his arrival means he will likely never have a sibling :(

MrsCristianoX · 25/10/2022 22:44

Stupid lines messing with my brain🤯Is temperature a better tracking method you think? I'm dying to get this Ava thing, just need an excuse 😂

MrsCristianoX · 25/10/2022 22:42

@Indianna2006 @bunnykins123 this happened to me in September. Like it looked like a peak then dropped then a darker one appeared. These things are mental! Basically just DTD every couple days then? Well when I'm allowed 🙄

Indianna2006 · 25/10/2022 21:57

@bunnykins123 I’m not sure biologically 6 days is possible.. The hormone surge is what tells your body to release the egg. And the hormones wouldn’t hang around for 6 days to do it. I think the most it can be is 3. Or what can happen is you can get an opk surge. Ovulate the next day. But it take 2 days to rise on bbt. Doesn’t mean it took 3 days to ovulate. Just it took 3 days for your body to adjust your temp etc and the progesterone pick up high. Biologically is all very complicated 😂😂 no wonder it’s so bloody hard to get pregnant sometimes. Too many variables.
also can be ppl think they get a surge. But it doesn’t do it. And it surges again. An so perhaps the testing of the opks goes a bit skew whiff once they think they have a peak.

everyone's body is different but a baby measuring 6 days out would likely be implantation difference of different women.

but yep like I said. I actually ovulated on my scan that day already. I was going for a Gyno check as was worried it had been 6 months without conceiving after the mc. She could see free fluid an said you’ve ovulated today. I thought she was talking rubbish 😂. An my peak was there when I tested when I got home. But wasn’t there in the morning. So mine is fast man! 🤣🤣 super speed.

bunnykins123 · 25/10/2022 21:45

@Indianna2006 what I would love is to find someone who was tracking their surge with opks and also getting scans to see roughly when the egg was released. I've tried looking online a few times (surrrrley some of the ivf gals must have done this 🤔) but not found much. I'm certain I O much later than my peak. With DD I had a peak and then then potentially O 6 days later. She was 6 days behind in the scan so it kinda makes sense but also hooooow 🤷‍♀️

FfayeN · 25/10/2022 21:40

@Indianna2006 I actually JUST coughed, googled my stabbing pain...round ligament pain...no word of a lie! So I hear ya...there's a lot of shifting in there 🤞🏼

OP posts:
Indianna2006 · 25/10/2022 21:30

@calimc83 your 20 week scan is sooo close. I’ve had right growing pains today. All in the front. Round ligament pain I think and womb stretching. And then it makes my back ache too @FfayeN so totally normal. I had lost of backache first trimester early on as well. Just stuff shifting away and “doing things” as I call it.

Indianna2006 · 25/10/2022 21:28

@pangolin84 @MrsCristianoX @FfayeN
yep I know! Tbh the packets lie lol. Every persons set up is different I guess and each month can be different.
i never take 24 hours to ovulate after my peak let alone any longer. If I got peak in morning. I’d ovulate that afternoon. If I got peak in afternoon I’d ovulate that evening. Mine happens like 6-8 hours after seeing the peak. Cos 1 I feel it. No mistaken it. It’s the same every month. An then my temp rises the next day so. Those packets are fibbers 😂😂😂

It can be that fast. And so alas if it is that quick that month and you save to dtd. It’s almost prob a bit late. Not enough time for them to capacitate into sperm to be able to penetrate egg. Day before you ovulate is best. Hence I never waited for a positive opk cos I’m sure I’d always of been a tad too late by that point. Worth a go obv. But I had to try predict dtd before hands.

we did 4 times in a row cycle I fell with this bubba 😂. Missed out ovulation day tho cos I could not be arsed 😂😂😂

TheBirdintheCave · 25/10/2022 21:18

@FfayeN I used to put them in at night and then by morning the worst of it was gone.

FfayeN · 25/10/2022 21:09

@MrsCristianoX I'm intrigued! To be fair any questions just ask away 😂. I could be doing it all wrong though lol. Good to know this backache could be normal though ☺️.

@Indianna2006 @pangolin84 I never knew this either!

@calimc83 I can only imagine the daily worry! Hope your little one is kind and doesn't stay still for too long in there 🤞🏼 xx

OP posts:
MrsCristianoX · 25/10/2022 20:58

@pangolin84 I know. I actually think I read this before (someone different posted) but didn't believe it. It's maddening 🤯

@FfayeN I had a text I forgot to send about the suppository experience but you have since answered..well for the greater good..🤞I had awful back ache early with my daughter xx

pangolin84 · 25/10/2022 19:53

@Indianna2006 Oh that is very interesting! I stupidly believed the gumpf they put on the OPK packet that you ovulate 24-48 hours after peak. I guess they might not sell as many if they said that you might have already ovulated by the time your peak appears!
It’s good to know though for future cycles - just means this cycle is a bit of a write off. So… now the pressure is on to do more DTD in flashing smiley zone.

calimc83 · 25/10/2022 19:17

@bunnykins123 Yes! Starting to feel quite a bit now..but also brings with it even more anxiety when they're quiet! 🙈😫..still doesn't feel real. Still can't imagine them arriving safely yet..argh! X

FfayeN · 25/10/2022 18:26

Another thing I am suffering from is awful lower back ache. Completely different to my previous pregnancy symptoms, just hoping it's a good sign rather than a bad one xx
