Just a thread for those of us TTC for the first time, but also anyone else that wants to join really!
We’re currently TTC baby no.1 and just on cycle #1 too, but DH and I both have health conditions that may make it difficult so I’m already driving myself crazy.

Im usually like clockwork but this month, of all months, AF was due 4 days ago and there’s no sign yet
Obviously every test I’ve done is negative though.

just looking for anyone to keep me company really whilst I obsessively check other peoples line eyes posts!

Also ttc #1 and just coming out of my ovulation period now so starting the tww. I don’t have any OPKs so no idea when I actually ovulated so will see where I’m at in a couple of weeks and if we go on to cycle 2 I’ll Monitor ovulation much more closely.

I'm 29 and DP is 32. First time trying for both of us.!

No of course welcome @Bananatoast123 and @Jesca78 !

@Jesca78 thats good that you’re taking time to be sure, it’s such a big commitment either way. I’m 33, but I have been told I may struggle to conceive and dh also has some fertility concerns due to previous medical conditions. Are you going to see your gp anytime soon?

@Bananatoast123 Eek let us know how you go! Do you have any symptoms either way? When will you test? Do you mind me asking about your blood tests? Did you do those privately?

I’ve changed from jesca78 now, sorry for the confusion!

I will try to make an appointment tomorrow, I want to arrange to have my implant removed asap so my body can try to get into a rhythm and see if I’m still ovulating

Hi there! Do you mind if I join? I’m TTC for our 1st too! Only 27 and had a few pre-conception blood tests and I’m all healthy apparently but we are 7 cycles in and not even a single glimpse of a BFP!! I’m starting to worry whether it’s possible! 12 dpo, AF expected tomorrow and fully think it’ll come again!!

Thatskindafun · 16/10/2022 21:10

I also had a day where I had to go to bed at 7pm
and a hormonal day too!
but as you say it can all be totally unrelated

its so so hard not to when it’s your own body! But sending lots of hopeful baby dust for you both!
mum going to test tomorrow
how about you?

I am 44 and we don’t have children, but it’s very much now or never and we are going to have counselling to work out what we really want. Personally I know what it’s like when my hormones go mad and scream HAVE A BABY NOWWWW but this is different, I feel an actual loss and grief at the idea of never having children. I know the likelihood of conceiving is low and with my health issues my GP may well tell me it’s not going to or can’t happen.

I met DH at 36 and we’ve been married 3 years, anyone else here in a similar situation?

CheeryCupcake · 16/10/2022 21:07

Sorry! 😆

Thatskindafun · 16/10/2022 21:05

Oh well I didn’t want to mention the gas 😳

Agree that definitely sounds promising! I've been nauseous for several days now, constant low-level cramping too, and with my AF not due til 19th that's a bit earlier than I'd normally start cramping for AF. Also had a horrendously hormonal day on Friday out of nowhere, just cried all afternoon for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and been really tired the last couple of days. Not to go for TMI but the level of gas is quite embarrassing too. But then all of these things could be caused by something else. As you can see, my symptom-spotting is out of control! It's just so hard not to, isn't it?

Staciejade54 · 16/10/2022 20:01

Aw that sounds really promising! When are you planning on testing again?

Thatskindafun · 16/10/2022 19:52

Thank you @CheeryCupcake !
i was surprised how quickly it got me! Cycle one and it was all I could think about. We decided to ‘just see what happens’ and ‘not take it too seriously’ think DH was a bit blindsided when I got obsessive about it straight away, even though I was trying not to. Fingers crossed for you! Definitely a good idea to wait, even when you know it’s too early to test it’s still disheartening to see that BFN isn’t it

thank you for joining @Iwillstayhopeful and @Staciejade54 !
Already got my fingers crossed for both of you. I think if it was going to be positive I’d be able to see it by now, but who knows.
I had some pain that was a bit like ovulation pain for 5 days around 7dpo and that’s it. I don’t even have any of my usual AF symptoms which is what’s throwing me off more!

Staciejade54 · 16/10/2022 19:24

I’d love to join. Also trying for my first and currently 9dpo. Have you been noticing any symptoms?

Iwillstayhopeful · 16/10/2022 19:09

4 days late sounds promising! Judt keep testing until and if AF comes. Im on 4th cycle, 3 days post ovulation. So currently in my two week late. Best of luck to you too x

CheeryCupcake · 16/10/2022 18:15

I'll keep you company - also TTC #1, and also cycle 1, currently 8/9 dpo and symptom-spotting like crazy, think I'm going a little bit nuts with it all! Did test on Friday, BFN but obviously way too early to be testing anyway. Trying my best to hold off now til about 10/11 dpo but it's so difficult not to, and so hard to think about something else during the wait. Sending you lots of luck and baby dust!
