TTC a first

Just a thread for those of us TTC for the first time, but also anyone else that wants to join really!
We’re currently TTC baby no.1 and just on cycle #1 too, but DH and I both have health conditions that may make it difficult so I’m already driving myself crazy.

Im usually like clockwork but this month, of all months, AF was due 4 days ago and there’s no sign yet
Obviously every test I’ve done is negative though.

just looking for anyone to keep me company really whilst I obsessively check other peoples line eyes posts!

@Rockyslife im sorry to hear about your experiences and can totally understand why you catastrophise and feel you may have something wrong. I hope that’s not the case but private would sure clear that up for you.

I’ve spoken to my Gp on two occasions of TTC and experiencing new pelvic pain (as of 2 months) and he hasn’t offered any support other than telling me to lose weight and be more healthy/active. So hard when services don’t support

Rockyslife · 09/11/2022 12:34

So when I was 19 I had a severe pelvic infection, have been trying to conceive for around a year now, properly for 9 months, so in my head I am just thinking the worst and I am sure I have blocked falopian tubes which is a common side affect from a Pelvic Infection, so really its a peace of mind for me either way.. Also I just dont really wanna wait months and months for an NHS appointment.

UserL95 · 09/11/2022 12:33

@Chocolotandtea thank you !! Have you tried it or considered trying it?

Chocolotandtea · 09/11/2022 10:13

Praying hard for you too 🙏@UserL95

UserL95 · 09/11/2022 09:56

@Chocolotandtea yes i used it last cycle! And I think it made me really hopeful which was hard to cope with during the TWW and when AF arrived. But I’m planning to use it again this cycle and just pray even harder that some miracle happens

Chocolotandtea · 09/11/2022 09:48

@UserL95 really interested in the fertility cup! Have you used it before?

UserL95 · 09/11/2022 09:43

Good luck everyone in their TWW!

@Rockyslife what made you choose to go private? Also considering doing the same after 10 unsuccessful cycles.

@Thatskindafun im also trying to lose weight as I have a high bmi and I know nhs won’t support me with any potential fertility issues. It’s so annoying as I would say I’m a fairly average size but Im naturally full busted which adds on a lot of weight too. I’m trying to walk more and eat healthier generally, very low impact movements.

@Chocolotandtea i found hertility really good and they explained the results in the report in an easy to read way too - would for sure recommend to anyone considering finding out more.

Im CD11 of #11. This month I’m continuing with my vitamins, will use fertilily cup again (second cycle), will seed cycle (but I forget to have them some days ha!) and am planning to get decongestant cough medication for 3 days before ovulation as it’s supposedly meant to help with EWCM. I am tracking BBT for the first time, and will start OPKs again for the 4th month. Bring it on!!

Bananatoast123 · 08/11/2022 17:00

@CheeryCupcake its driving me mad this month! Fingers crossed for us this month! I’m going to test at 10dpo this month as can’t bear the wait - this month has been the hardest yet, maybe it’s because I’m 8/9 months since starting!

CheeryCupcake · 08/11/2022 16:56

@Bananatoast123 that's so true on the symptom-spotting!

Bananatoast123 · 08/11/2022 16:42

Hi everyone! 6dpo for me! TWW is hard not to symptom spot and also spiral with worrying!! Cycle 9 and this one feels hardest yet. This cycle we’ve dtd all the good days and I’ve gotten back to tracking (stopped in June to ease pressure)! I’m really hoping this is our cycle but also trying not to overthink any twinges I get!! I always think from 4/5dpo you start picking up on things even if they aren’t there 🤣

CheeryCupcake · 08/11/2022 15:44

Back for cycle 2 now - currently cd19, approx. 4/5dpo, AF due around 14th based on last month's cycle which was longer than my normally short cycles, so very much in the TWW. Twinges in my boobs and abdomen so far but then last month I got much too involved with symptom-spotting so was then really sad when AF arrived. The goal this month is to avoid symptom-spotting and just see if AF arrives before I go anywhere near a test. I don't know if I'll hold out though! Gosh this is tough, isn't it?!

Chocolotandtea · 08/11/2022 15:36

So happy to find this thread and hope I can join too. I’m 34 years old and just came off the pill so have have only had one real period so far.

I don’t know all the abbreviations yet but on TTC cycle 1. Said we would take an easy no stress approach but of course I have started obsessing over it already. Just using clue app for now and dtd during “ideal timing to conceive” ie just before predicted ovulation.

I have always had super awful period but never been diagnosed so can’t help but feel this won’t be an easy journey. Was going to pay for Hertility testing but read in the FAQs that best to wait for 3 months after coming off contraception as it allows hormones to go back to normal. Thinking I’m going to have to chill out as much as possible and do this test in the new year along with starting to test and track for ovulation as I read that the predicted ovulation dates do not fit a lot of people.

Glad to have found some company x

Rockyslife · 08/11/2022 13:59

Hey, me and my husband have been trying to conceive for around 12 months now, I didnt realise how much hard work it is until you dont fall pregnant as easily as you thought you would, now we are doing everything correctly I feel even more upset it isnt happening for us. I am paying for a private appointment as I would like scans etc to check everything is ok. I am due on my period in 8 days and my boobs have started to become sore which I guess thats my period getting itself ready again :(

Thatskindafun · 08/11/2022 13:03

How’s everyone doing?
AF due Friday, already confident I’m not pregnant. Not done a test but would like to know and just move on to the next cycle.

is anyone else trying to lose weight whilst TTC? Ive heard a healthier weight (particularly for me with PCOS) can make it easier to conceive, but also that dieting can make it harder to conceive. Bit of a catch 22.

@Lorigrimsley93 hey! It could be! Have you taken a test?

Lorigrimsley93 · 04/11/2022 00:30

Hello I’m new to the forum. I’m a female 29 trying to conceive. My AF is three days away. I usually have PMS including Sore boobs and cramps about a week before my period and this happens like clock work every month. I have not had any PMS symptoms this month. Could this be a sign of pregnancy??

Bananatoast123 · 03/11/2022 21:49

@ScarletDreams I’m usually quite good on the TWW until around 8dpo and then I start thinking / trying to work out if it’s AF or pregnancy! But today I started worrying if something is wrong if we don’t manage it this month 🤦🏼‍♀️ given it’s been 9 months now!

Sending baby dust and lots of luck to you this month!

ScarletDreams · 03/11/2022 21:38

Bananatoast123 · 03/11/2022 21:19

TWW started today 😩 hate the lack of control now!!

@Bananatoast123 hoping it passes quickly for you. sending baby dust ! Hoping this is your month !

I'm 7dpo today, the first 4 days went quickly and I'll be honest I was glad of a break from ovulation testing as with my shift patterns it's wasn't always easy to time right. But from day 4 I started overthinking every little possible symptom 🤦‍♀️ And it's absolutely dragging now.

Bananatoast123 · 03/11/2022 21:19

TWW started today 😩 hate the lack of control now!!

WanOvaryKenobi · 30/10/2022 15:09

Thank you! I've had multiple blood tests and they've asked me to come in for a face to face appointment for referral. Will hopefully have an answer then and will update. Last I heard it was several months for gynaecology or endocrinology. As well as TTC I would also like to be monitored for related PCOS health conditions x

GEM429 · 30/10/2022 15:07

Thank you! It’s so lovely being part of a community where everyone is facing the same thing xxx

Thatskindafun · 30/10/2022 15:06

@UserL95 hope youve got an answer soon!
welcome @GEM429 and @WanOvaryKenobi - has your dr given you a time frame? Fingers crossed it’s soon

I’m sulking this month as I’ve had the flu, and missed my window as I was too Ill.
TWW now already knowing there’s no news
and then can try again next cycle.

Hi everyone! TTC age 30. Anovulatory PCOS, cycles are over 90 days long. Hoping for treatment soon.

GEM429 · 30/10/2022 11:11

Hello.

Hopefully you don’t mind me joining.
Had coil removed 2 weeks ago after 3 years so no idea about my cycle when to expect AF or when to expect OV.

Just blindly trying but it’s hard not to be obsessive! ❤️

Emmalou0607 · 30/10/2022 10:57

@UserL95 hope you're doing okay hugs
