@LuckyMoonstone I've had to go private, and I'm lucky to have a proactive consultant. It's a no brainier to me- if your cycles are longer than 28 days then you are obviously ovulating late!

I did go to my GP about it, who was sympathetic to what I was saying, but because I've got pregnant twice, they couldn't really do anything, and I'm stuck with waiting a year to get any help. That's 5 more months for me, where I'll probably only ovulate 2-3 times.

It frustrates me to no end that we've had to resort to private to actually get support. I can't believe women actually get pregnant for free 😂

Beyond that though, I just think it's wrong that issues with cycles aren't taken more seriously, regardless of whether the woman is TTC or not. I have always understood that the cycle is a vital sign.

Thread 12! Wow. Just posting so I can save my place :)

@bunnykins123 thank you! I'm 5 weeks so it's all a bit tricky to assess still. The sonographer just now was amazing and explained everything so well. He showed me a tiny blob that is likely the gestational sac and it had a small dot in it so that looks promising. But he cautioned that sometimes you get fluid pockets along the uterus lining. He also said I have what looks like a cyst on my left ovary. So in all likelihood it's a healthily developing pregnancy and a cyst that may have caused some discomfort. Oh and quite a big corpus luteum in my left ovary.
But he also said that it could be a fluid pocket and that the cyst is an ectopic, although he said it doesn't look like a typical ectopic.
I'll probably be monitored for a few weeks now. Just waiting to speak to a nurse.
Nobody can say why I had a period like bleed. He suggested really heavy implantation bleeding 🤷‍♀️ I'll take that

@RaliaMusca sorry I just saw you're back in there now. Wishing you loads of luck, I hope you get some answers. 💕

@FfayeN thanks for the tag lady 👏

@MrsCristianoX you hear a lot of people fall the 1st time after a break so it could actually be helpful? Lots of vitamins in the meantime and I hope the meds make you feel better 💕

@calimc83 it's interesting isn't it. I used my 1st opk this cycle and it's already gearing up. I'm only cd10 - that seems way early. Anyway I'm defo on a mission to get as much as possible this cycle!

@Chellooo I actually think a break is sometimes what's needed. TTC is hard work and really stressful! I'm the same as you regarding age / pressure. Congratulations on the new job - that will be a nice distraction!

@TheBirdintheCave I've given up planning around ttc now. I just feel that for the last year, ttc has completely sapped the joy out of everything so just try to plan ahead as normally for once 😂 it's a risk but I guess it's a nice problem to have if suddenly you have a holiday AND a bfp 🙃

@theblueflowers im so sorry to hear that. I'm kinda the same. 13 months for me now. I have an appointment with the fertility clinic next week so will ask about some kind of meds for O too. I'm so fed up with it all now. Which ones have they given you?

@RaliaMusca how many weeks are you now? Like they said, it might just be a bit too early. Do you have a follow up scan soon? I'm sorry you're going through this 💕

May I join this group?

First pregnancy ended in miscarriage in may at 7 weeks and no joy in conceiving since then which is frustrating. Trying again this month but at the stage now of assuming it won't happen.

RaliaMusca · 06/10/2022 09:03

Thank you for tagging me!

I spent all of last evening until half past midnight at A&E/EPU because I had constant one-sided pain in my groin area. Did bloods (HCG was at 1070) and internal scan but are none the wiser. Nothing to be seen on scan, HCG doc said is around the threshold where you should start to see a gestational sac. But she called it the no-mans-land where anything is possible. Could be a small ectopic, could be pregnancy of unknown location, could have already been a miscarriage or could turn out to be totally fine.
I'm back at the EPU right now for another scan. Ugh, I really thought after the first mc the next pregnancy would be trouble-free but boy was I wrong....

LuckyMoonstone · 06/10/2022 08:37

@theblueflowers how did you get ovulation induction meds? My doctor doesn’t believe that I know when I ovulate therefore doesn’t believe I’m ovulating ‘late’

Luna57 · 06/10/2022 08:28

@MrsCristianoXwe’re left in the Stone Age with everything aren’t we! A day in Northern Ireland without rain? Surely that’s a myth 😂

@calimc83 our base is so small too and they love a good bit of gossip. Saying that another girl in my base came out pregnant a couple days ago and I actually never heard about it so maybe it’ll be kept secret til I announce it. I think I’m around 7 weeks I haven’t a clue, I have an nhs reassurance scan on Sunday so hopefully they can tell me more then.

theblueflowers · 06/10/2022 08:19

@FfayeN thanks so much for the tag!

Still here, just struggling to keep up with the pace of the group. Cheering you all on from the sidelines!

Looks like I finally ovulated on CD27, making me 3DPO. If this cycle is a no go, we're onto next steps with ovulation induction medication. Never thought I'd be here, 18 months later!

mummatara · 06/10/2022 07:36

Thanks @FfayeN haha @LuckyMoonstone we do have a lot to say 🤣

LuckyMoonstone · 06/10/2022 07:29

My god we do get through em 😂
