@mummatara xx

Mariabombia · 10/10/2022 19:52

Oh bless you, I agree it is so cruel of the body :( hope you're doing well love. When are you due back at the hospital? Do you have to wait a few weeks after the bleed or are they scanning you throughout?

mummatara · 10/10/2022 19:46

@Mariabombia that is what my current MC is for. I hate to say it I had all the same pregnancy symptoms and a couple of new ones as previous pregnancies which is just cruel of the body IMO. They tapered off a couple of days after our first scan at the EPU so I would have been 9+6 at that scan

mummatara · 10/10/2022 19:42

@HalWin2221 I temp alongside strips I like to see how it's matched up. The temping doesn't really tell you when you might O only when you have so it's a bit useless for predicting when to DTD in the lead up but I do like to see what's happening if nothing other than curiosity and I find it interesting I never O the same CD. They say you should temp at the same time every morning but I did read somewhere that as long as you've had a good chunk of sleep at least 4 hours it's ok to take your temp. Unfortunately I've had to do this lots because kids don't love sleeping as much as I do 😂 and I've found my temps to still be consistent if it's only been a block of about 4 hours

Mariabombia · 10/10/2022 19:36

Fingers crossed for those of you in the TWW ✨hope it goes quickly for you!

No more spotting today so far for me🤞🏻 anyone here had blighted ovum before? If so were your pregnancy symptoms the same?

ChloeN · 10/10/2022 19:25

CD14 for me and no peak yet🙄 I had a rise this time last cycle so might be a day or 2 out this month! But I’ve dtd for 4 days in a row already lol so looks like I’ve still got a good few days to go🤣

HalWin2221 · 10/10/2022 18:47

@FfayeN im with you on being a control freak! 😂 TWW is such torture isn’t it! I’m on 4dpo and everything I feel I’m like is that a symptom?! 😂

@bunnykins123 I’m using the CB too. It worries me when I get the smiley face and can’t DTD until later though! I wish I could see my egg release and when it is when we DTD 😂

RaliaMusca · 10/10/2022 18:45

@MrsCristianoX thanks for checking , that's really interesting. I wonder why it says on medicines.org that it's contraindicated in pregnancy. So confusing.

bunnykins123 · 10/10/2022 18:42

@HalWin2221 I use 2 strips and CB ovulation sticks - it's pricey. I only temp a bit before and after O as I usually forget so not as obsessive about it. For what it's worth, when I conceived DD I didn't get a temp spike until like 5dpo so I'm not sure it's all that accurate for me!

@mummatara so hoping that's the end of it 🤞

mummatara · 10/10/2022 17:29

@FfayeN I still haven't passed anything significant but the bleeding is tapering off to almost nothing so I'm going with it's all nearly done and what was there has been reabsorbed 🤞🏼

FfayeN · 10/10/2022 17:25

@Indianna2006 yeah it certainly looks different to a year ago!

@HalWin2221 I'm doing both now, just to make sure I was ovulating when I thought I was really as was worrying I was a day later than expected, but it seems to tie in. Plus I'm a control freak 😂. This is the first month I felt I could be consistent enough with it and actually it's given me something to focus on in the TWW x

You girls educate me so much! With this whole checking temp thing around ovulation do you do the dignity/strip tests to check for ovulation too or just relay on the temp?

MrsCristianoX · 10/10/2022 17:03

@Luna57 I've checked updated NICE guidelines and what you have been prescribed is accurate. I will use this as part of my learning cycles for next year and maybe learn a bit more xx Community pharmacists tend to argue with patients about drugs of abuse 'no it's not due yet' is one sentence I use a lot

@bunnykins123 so very true 😂 I think a wristband would annoy me just as much

Indianna2006 · 10/10/2022 17:02

@FfayeN thats again good they’ve been seeming a lot more stable. Hopefully that’s a positive thing for your hormones and falling. I always used fertility friend and again found it the easiest to log temps and makes it really clear. And also found it pretty accurate with predicting ovulation if you were consistent.

bunnykins123 · 10/10/2022 16:53

@FfayeN that's so true! If I've had alcohol the day before, my temp always shoots up. Not helpful! The worst was with the heatwave! That's good advice. I'll just have to hope the 1st reading is accurate as this morning there was a 0.30 difference between readings at 1 point which is not ideal 🤦‍♀️

@MrsCristianoX Ovusense do an armband one (this is the one I got) but literally it didn't sync with my phone or do much of anything. So you can get ones that aren't the 'vag plugs' but I think they aren't as well developed yet so a bit temperamental. I don't fancy putting one up my foof all night 😂

MrsCristianoX · 10/10/2022 16:48

@FfayeN ooh I just downloaded that!

FfayeN · 10/10/2022 16:46

@bunnykins123 I have had this aswell so now I just take the early morning one and take the first answer, it's so easy to keep checking it especially if you're awake in the night. I guess it's only so accurate, if it's a cold night for example it may be slightly lower, if I've had a drink or bad food it's higher and if you've not had a good sleep it can be affected too. You're just looking for a rough average line before and after ovulation. Fertility Friend is the easiest app to log it. When I had my hypothyroid out of control they were all over the place, now it's treated it's looking a lot more normal! Xx

@FfayeN @bunnykins123 thanks!! I have one of those. Really didn't want to have to go for a vaginal one 🙈

bunnykins123 · 10/10/2022 16:42

@FfayeN today I took my temp and I got 4 really different readings. How can that be so?! I feel like it's pot luck which reading I'll get each day 😂

@MrsCristianoX I bought one of the Ovusense ones but it never worked. Getting technical support to help with it was literally like getting blood out of a stone so sacked it off. Back to the tongue thermometer....

FfayeN · 10/10/2022 16:34

@mummatara I must have missed your post but hopefully you're coming to the end of it now 😌. Hoping your body get back relatively quickly also.

@MrsCristianoX it is really interesting, mine looks roughly how it should but there are so many variables too. Amazon have some super cheap thermometers for bbt. Try and do it at the same time each day and before you get up, keep us posted! xx

MrsCristianoX · 10/10/2022 16:18

@Luna57 cheers for that...not at work today but the NI hospitals recommended cyclogest 400mg twice daily. Utrogestan vaginal caps are only available at a dose of 200mg so would need to be given more frequently. So if you work it isn't really an option. In my 20 years of pharmacy I've never seen a pregnant lady prescribed utrogestran or in fact anyone. Both are used for ivf.

BUT I haven't studied both forms and would need to do a little more research x

mummatara · 10/10/2022 15:58

@bunnykins123 I hope so 🤞🏼🤞🏼 never thought I'd say this after the marathon sessions of trying to conceive but I'm actually quite looking forward to getting back to dtd it's def been a while 😂

RaliaMusca · 10/10/2022 15:40

@Luna57 exactly, I think they're commonly used in assisted fertility during the luteal phase but not once you are actually pregnant.

Luna57 · 10/10/2022 15:38

@RaliaMusca I’m in NI so no doubt we won’t get the privileges of any good medicines. @MrsCristianoX is a pharmacist maybe she could shed some light on cyclogest? Any time I’ve googled cyclogest it’s all about the luteal phase and implantation and using the pessaries in the TWW 🤷🏼‍♀️ I genuinely don’t have my hopes high they will maintain this pregnancy

mummatara · 10/10/2022 15:32

@MrsCristianoX you need a basal thermometer with two decimal places. Just put it under your tongue at the back it's super easy
