Hi, I am wondering if anybody can help me/recommend herbal meds or give me success stories .

I have not used contraception since March 2020 and not had a positive. I am 41 and have 2 grown up boys to a previous marriage however my now husband is younger than me and has no children and we would love a family. I have always wanted a third child.

I had my bloods taken in June 2021 and everything was ‘normal’, hubby is going for semen analysis but can’t get an appt until Dec. I’m just hoping that in the meantime anybody can recommend some herbal medicine to help me ovulate as it seems I’m not based on my LH strips. They are so faint and today there is not even a second line on CD19. I have been taking folic acid, Co-q10, Vitamin B6 and have just this week introduced Maca Root in tablet form. I’m desperately at my wits end and my GP has said there is a very slim chance of me being referred for fertility treatment due to my age.

Thanks for reading of you got this far!

Sorry for the multiple replies however my other bit of advice would be not to stop with the ovulation sticks. As in - you might ovulate late (how long are your cycles?) so keep checking every day even when it seems far too late just to try to get a sense of what's going on.

OP have a look at aviva rom, she’s an American doctor and herbalist.

Theres heaps of reasons people don’t ovulate so just cos something works for one doesn’t mean it works for you! I have PCOS and firstly did some liver cleansing and support (I think milk thistle and something else, and spirulena) and then used vitex agnus castus in the first half of my cycle.

It’s definitely worth looking at other factors before or along side trying herbal medication. Stress management, nutrition, movement, adequate rest, addressing any relationship issues or concerns you might have about pregnancy or mothering again which could cause underlying stress.

I wish you the best good luck!

Hi @Khanny have a look into inositol. I'm not sure if I can post a link but best place I found for it is bill powders. It helped me to bring forward ovulation significantly so may help to induce it for you... definitely worth a try

Thanks for the replies but we don’t have the money for private. Was hoping for some vitamin/herbal recommendations really. I know that the NHS won’t fund any treatment.

You'll need to go private. You already have children so the NHS won't fund any fertility treatment.

SunshineClouds1 · 03/10/2022 21:59

Agree you need to go private.

Afaia you can’t get fertility treatment on the NHS if you already have children, even if you are wanting children with a new partner.

You would probably be best to start looking into private clinics.
