Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR

I know there was a thread where ladies tracked their rhr about a year ago and wanted to start it back up again as i’m tracking my resting heart rate! at about 7dpo today and it’s been rising for me! anyone else tracking rhr for bfp?

@Annapolis35 I’m due on sunday so there’s still a few days left. if it drops any more than this then i definitely know i’m out. you’re due soon too aren’t you? wil you test at all?
it isn’t over till it’s over, not feeling so crampy could be a good sign for you 🤞🏽🤞🏽
i’m sorry it’s dropping for you, we’re in this together 💖

Aw no, when is your period due to arrive? I don’t feel as crampy as normal and my boobs aren’t sore anymore, but judging by heart rate it’s definitely on it’s way. I know it’s demoralizing each month and I always get a bit blue when I know my period is about to start. This is my chart, it’s quite a steep drop over the past few days and it’s basically dropped to pre-ovulation levels

I will do! I think we may be in the same boat rn; my rhr has dipped to 74 which is massive, not feeling so hopeful about this cycle now

Aww glad to hear and let us know about the FRER, exciting! My rhr has dropped again to 71 so I think my AF might come earlier than Saturday, still hoping there as you never know until it turns up

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 21:32

thanks so much @Annapolis35 youre keeping me positive! I’ve ordered some tests that are coming tomorrow before 1pm so i’ll test and update. they’re not frer but another sensitive brand that you can use 6 days before a missed period. tomorrow i’ll be 5 days before a missed period so fingers crossed :)

Sending you lots of baby dust, always stay hopeful, you never know what’s around the corner 💖💖💖

Not daft at all. It doesn’t mean anything as it’s still so early at 9 dpo and may not have implanted yet, keep up the faith

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 20:58

I know this is a bit daft but I used an OPK to see if it’s rising as I’ve seen some ladies say it gets darker if you’re pregnant but it’s sooo light and barely there :/

@allgoodthings84 Hopefully it will drop and it’s an anomaly or fitbit just being weird!

@winterspinach Im so hopeful for your chart and have fingers crossed this is your month. Glad all your checks and everything have all been fine, it can just take longer for some. I am 35 so a wee bit older but am trying to be hopeful about that. Good things will come for us all

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 14:02

Never thought I would be wanting it to drop ha ha. I know it needs to drop so it can rise again ready for ovulation. I’ll start taking my opk’s tomorrow on CD7 as I get a peak CD11-CD14

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 14:00

@Annapolis35 @winterspinach yep its very strange as I’ve had the exact same pattern for so many years. If it’s coming down with something I would have thought it would have happened already as been weird for a week but can’t think of anything else. If I had only bern tracking for a few months I would put it down as just one of those things but it’s been years of the same pattern. Hopefully it will drop back down tomorrow and keep going down although I am quite liking the idea of a new Fitbit now as the versa 4 is out next week 😂 and it does more!

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 13:56

@allgoodthings84
hopefully you find out what’s going on with it soon! maybe a new fit bit would be a solution but maybe see how it goes. sometimes our bodies can be so unpredictable even when we know them well.

I really do hope it’s good news, but i’m tempering my excitement for now. i’m 9dpo and itching to test 🫢

Sorry @allgoodthings84 i hadn’t realized. Maybe you are coming down with something and I know rhr can be affected by lack of sleep or stress so that could also explain it. It’s weird how these things happen

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 13:40

@winterspinach If yours keeps jumping up like that I would say you’re in for some great news as you’ve had a big jump in there. Mine usually goes up like this every cycle but usually a slower increase rather than big jumps

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 13:34

@Annapolis35 i can’t be pregnant I had a full on AF with the second day being the worst and heaviest flow I’ve had in my life! It was horrible I was having to sort myself out every 45 mins or so then it went to spotting in the evening/night then next day was normal.

@winterspinach I feel absolutely fine not at all ill but only thing I could think of is maybe I’m going to come down with something soon and it’s been affecting my RHR but it did start to drop just not to where it usually does (not below ovulation levels) and today went back up. It’s not the same Fitbit all 5 years and everything else is working fine on it I’m just trying to think what it could possibly be 🤔. If my RHR isn’t normal in the next couple days I’m buying a new Fitbit as I wear mine 24/7 unless charging/showering so need it working properly

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 13:22

@allgoodthings84
have you had the same fitbit for five years? do you reckon it might be acting a bit funny with tracking your rhr?
i think if you’ve been feeling a bit unwell then this could deffo have an affect on it being a little odd, hopefully it settles soon!

i ovulated right at the beginning, i circled it :)

@allgoodthings84 have you taken a test just in case? Mine always drops during AF too and has never not

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 13:19

@Annapolis35 thanks for the encouraging words :)
I’ve been to the gp and got all my hormones checked and whatnot. everything seemed fine bar my vit d which i increased. for the past three months i’ve been taking conceive plus ovulation support to improve egg quality. my husband is all fine too. nurse said it could just take some couples longer and were somewhat young at 29 and 27.

Im sorry it’s been tough for you, i’ve had one chemical and it was brutal, i can’t imagine what it’s like being further along. Hopefully it happens for us both soon and the timing will be perfect :)

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 13:02

@Annapolis35 mine always goes down 2 days before AF (for last nearly 5 years from looking back at my Fitbit app) but my RHR is still being weird and not doing what it’s always done so not sure if there’s something wrong with my watch or I’ve been coming down with something for the last week

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 13:00

@winterspinach which day on your chart was ovulation? It looks promising 🤞

allgoodthings84 · 21/09/2022 12:58

my RHR is being all weird. I’ve looked back at nearly 5 years of tracking on my Fitbit and it’s always been the same pattern but I’m now CD6 (AF finished yesterday) and it’s not yet dropped below my ovulation RHR. CD6&7 I’m usually at 56-57bpm (at my lowest all cycle) but today it went back up again. It had slowly dropped to 60bpm then this morning went back up to 61bpm. It’s never ever above 59bpm until ovulation for me. I’m thinking maybe I’m about to come down with something as there’s no way I’m ovulating today it’s too early and I always get a few days of EWCM first and RHR always drops to 56/57 before going back up again and it’s not. Wondering if my watch is broken on just the RHR bit 😂

Annapolis35 · 21/09/2022 12:51

@winterspinach Yeah, I’ve had months where my heart rate has gone up really high and I have got excited but it dropped so it’s probably best to temper expectations, though it is promising! Sorry you’ve been trying for a year and a half, is it your first? Have you been to the gp? We are trying for our first and have been trying since January - caught in February but miscarried in April, had a few months off to recover and it’s our second month properly trying again. It’s been hard

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 12:41

ooh okay, i’m going to try holding off testing until im a few days late (if i am)
even thought i’ve seen lots of ladies get bfps after their rhr has been increasing i seem to think that i’ll be an anomaly and just get a bfn. been trying for a year and a half :(

OP posts:
Annapolis35 · 21/09/2022 11:40

I didn’t test until I was two or three days late so probably day 15 and it was a blazing immediate positive. I had lots of signs though, my heart rate had gone up high and my taste had gone weird and my boobs hurt under my arms, and the AF cramps disappeared from 10dpo onwards (guess that’s when implantation occured). I also had a streak of brown blood 10 dpo.

winterspinach · 21/09/2022 11:28

@Annapolis35 Im really sorry to hear that, i hope you’re doing well 💖
When you tested with this pregnancy, when did you get your bfp?

And same! I feel like I’m driving myself mad sometimes

OP posts:
Annapolis35 · 21/09/2022 11:04

The boobs are a good sign! Mine have stopped hurting and now I just feel dull AF type cramps so I’m pretty sure I’m out—although when I was pregnant (had a mmc earlier this year at 9 weeks) I was also convinced I wasn’t because of AF cramps, except then my heart rate was steadily rising around this time. I hate over analyzing my body!
