Good morning! I've not posted on MN for a while as trying to take a more laid back approach but let's face it that doesn't work anymore than anxiously rabbit holeing your way through a cycle either.

I am coming to the end of cycle 2083626480 and I have had all the usual period symptoms! Everything seemed to come together nicely this time so it's another disappointing month. Not tested but know the inevitable. My partner and I have some fertility tests coming up so hopefully some light will be shed on our situation.

I have a 3 year old and have had 3 miscarriages last year.

Anybody in the same boat and would like a friendly thread to share their journey it would be great to hear from you!

Hello! I would like to join up too x

I'm 42 in May and have an 11 year old and an 8 month old.
Trying to give our youngest a sibling close to her in age so we've been trying for the last 4-5 months and have miraculously had 2 months of receiving faint positives but both times have ended in chemical pregnancies.

I'm optimistic though, that it must mean I'm fertile, I just need to get that 1 good egg!

Currently 4DPO and will be testing sometime just after Christmas (period is due on the 28th)
Think we have a good shot this month as we managed to BD 4 times over my fertile window which is unheard of for us as my husband often works away.

Looking forward to seeing how we all do over the holiday season x

You're dead right we deserve a break and at least Christmas is a good time for that break

Me too, decided to wait until the new year as my period is due Christmas Eve and I don’t want that stress over Christmas!! I have the opk testing, which I’d thought I’d do as had an ectopic this year and wanted to see if my cycles were back to normal, but haven’t got round to it yet, but they seem to be. Am still taking a cocktail of supplements which I didn’t do before. Will definitely be having a drink over Christmas as oddly, the only times I’ve got pregnant have been when I haven’t been abstaining - not sure if it’s a stress thing!! Have a great Christmas everyone! Eat the good cheese whilst you can 😂

@LeeCee it is so frustrating...and when you start thinking you have symptoms and then...nope!

I've decided to give myself a break for this month. No OPK's , no apps ...nothing...
I'm 44! TTC number 2...
Probably isn't going to happen but I've been so obsessed over the past few months that I'm welcoming a break...

Oh definitely having a cheeky baileys!

@LeeCee going for tests was a real turning point for me mentally. The results were shit, more in terms of IVF and I don't want to do that anyway. But I know I have a slim chance but still a chance and if I get lucky great if I don't I feel ok about that now.

Thanks for replying. Yeah I think maybe the tests will give us some clarity rather than this stupid blind hoping. We're so lucky to have the two we do have. I'm going to have to make my peace with maybe that's it

BFN this morning and still no period I'm about 12 DPO now CD26. I'm absolutely gutted I'd have a line by now if this was my month I'm sure. Think we'll have to look into some tests post Christmas can't keep trying without doing some investigating

meetmeinthespring · 17/12/2022 04:09

@deeperthanallroses I'm not sure ...how old is your bub?
Maybe ask the pharmacist? Honestly it's a mind field what to take and what not to...

So I'm not going to use any OPK's sticks over December , giving myself a break from testing...

deeperthanallroses · 16/12/2022 12:45

is anyone taking smaller amounts of coq10 than 600mg? I’ve just bought tablets and think they are 150mg. But I’m also breastfeeding so looked that up and don’t think I should take it while I am, there’s no data on it and breastfeeding.

meetmeinthespring · 13/12/2022 11:08

Well let's all try and relax over Christmas 😊

Does anyone think OPKs are a complete waste of time and money...I'm sure they pick up a positive too late...ovulation has occurred ....

BooseysMom · 12/12/2022 17:59

I gave up ttc for dc2 when I hit 47/8. We had our one and only DS when I was just 3 months off 41! I thought I was menopausal but it turned out to be DS! I didn't even know he was in there for 3 months!

So it can be done! Good luck and baby dust to all x

lizziecat1 · 12/12/2022 17:45

@meetmeinthespring I'm at pretty much same stage of my cycle as you - cd3 here. Which at least means I can drink at Christmas!

Hello and welcome to the new arrivals on here!

@LeeCee I have absolutely no patience at all!

EnnaMc · 12/12/2022 14:28

Please may I join this group.

I'll be 43 at the end of this month, have two older children 12/16. Been TTC with my current partner for 2 years with no luck. It's been exhausting. Will be nice to share a space with others going through similar x

Luckystar7jf · 12/12/2022 10:04

I have quite a past. I have lost severest babies but don’t want to bring the thread down. Hoping I get my miracle rainbow baby. I am not using ov sticks or taking any supps at the moment as that just makes me feel pressure for some reason. I guess I am quite relaxed at the moment. I am 43 next month and decided that if I am not pregnant after that I will research supps. My last loss was in April.

Luckystar7jf · 12/12/2022 10:01

Hi no I have 2 ds. They are 17 & 6. This will be my last x

LeeCee · 12/12/2022 10:01

Hello can I join? 40 and ttc no.3 am 7 DPO on cycle 3. It happened really fast for us the first two times so am struggling with having any patience this time

Ninjajay · 12/12/2022 08:28

I'm feeling so much more laid back than I have felt for two years. Almost like I felt when we started trying for my first. I'm not going to bother with ovulation sticks and temping. I feel I've got to know my body well enough to know when ovulation is now. I know this may not happen for us again and I can't live like I was i was awful. So much obsession and anxiety around it all. I don't want to loose myself again.

@Luckystar7jf are you TTC number 2?

Luckystar7jf · 12/12/2022 00:08

Hi I have been ttc for 6 months although didn’t try last month x

Anewhoo · 11/12/2022 23:36

I’m going to be 41 next year. Have a 19m old. Want to try for another, so will get Christmas out the way and get stuck in - so to speak!!
