Good morning! I've not posted on MN for a while as trying to take a more laid back approach but let's face it that doesn't work anymore than anxiously rabbit holeing your way through a cycle either.

I am coming to the end of cycle 2083626480 and I have had all the usual period symptoms! Everything seemed to come together nicely this time so it's another disappointing month. Not tested but know the inevitable. My partner and I have some fertility tests coming up so hopefully some light will be shed on our situation.

I have a 3 year old and have had 3 miscarriages last year.

Anybody in the same boat and would like a friendly thread to share their journey it would be great to hear from you!

Think I may be the oldest here....TTC number 2.

At 44! May be too late...

Cycles are 25 days and very regular.
I'm going to use ovulation strips this month, been trying for nearly 9 months.

I'm sure I ovulate early....

Ninjajay · 26/02/2023 21:10

@JoRobyn that's exactly it! Just one poxy sperm - how hard can it be eh 😆. Well fingers crossed it's your month

JoRobyn · 26/02/2023 10:04

Ahhh I am always day 11 too. I think I do ovulate early though as get ewcm from day 7and then it's gone by day 12? we DTD 9,11 and 12 this month so not a great effort. We went away and it made it difficult (family room and very busy!) Don't hold out much hope but I guess it only takes the once?!

Ninjajay · 26/02/2023 09:04

@JoRobyn welcome to the group! I know what you mean! I was going to call it day at 42! That day is fast approaching and I'm not calling it a day. I have a peak today at 11dpo usually happens day 14/15 but did have a chemical in jan and taking a shit ton of supplements so who knows. It's hard to know wether its hormones from age or all the things we do to try and help.

Good luck 🤞

JoRobyn · 26/02/2023 08:51

Hello everyone, I know this is an older group but have seen some people posting recently and I'd love to join.

I'm 40 (still not used to that TBH, anyone else not sure how this happened to them?) and have two kids, 4 and 6 this year.

Trying for #3 against all sensible reasons not to of which there are many. Cycle 6 atm.

Partner was hard to persuade to have another (he's very head, I'm all heart) and I kind of persuaded him by pretending I'd be all 'lets just see what happens'.....obvs that was a lie. Also said we'd just try til Christmas, and well, here we are!

CD16, think I ovulate early on day 12 with short cycles. So about 4dpo.

Would love to chat going into this awful headf*ck of the next week!

Iusedtobedontcall · 25/02/2023 12:40

Hi all - I’m 42 and in the past nine months I’ve had a MMC and a TFMR. So I can conceive - just need one that will be healthy and progress!

Rainbows121 · 25/02/2023 09:56

@theleavesfall I put off ttc because of Covid lockdowns. I had 2 missed miscarriages before having my DC and worried about what would happen if I had another one and also giving birth alone. Looking back now I really wish id not waited but at the time it was right for me.
My periods are irregular so that another reason for trying acupuncture to help regulate... who knows!
I'm pretty rubbish with remembering to use OPK's and temperature checks 🙈🤣

theleavesfall · 25/02/2023 05:27

@Rainbows121 yes I have seen an increase in posts of 45 years having their second, even their first!
Maybe the past few years with lockdowns and life being turned upside down, that some women have delayed trying.
Who knows.

I'm going to try some OPKs sticks this month , currently CD4 My cycles are 25 days regular. I use the Flo app which predicts my ovulation at CD 13 , but I don't think that is right at all! I'm going TTC from CD7 to CD14 every other day if I can this month.

Hi, I'm 41. I have a 7 year old. I just had a miscarriage. I'll be honest and say that at our age I think there's not much hope. I'm taking pregnacare every day and haven't used contraception since 2015. You never know! I suppose stranger things have happened. I think by 45, fertility is effectively 0, so I'm going to keep having unprotected sex.

This just isn't correct. It is harder and there is a significantly increased risk of miscarriage but it doesn't mean you're not fertile.

Rainbows121 · 23/02/2023 12:42

@theleavesfall we won't be be going down the IVF route either but I'm not ready to except that I won't have another baby. I do see quite a few posts of ladies aged 45 that have conceived naturally that gives me hope!

theleavesfall · 23/02/2023 11:53

@Rainbows121 it is so hard each month ..and to think I spent so much time in my 30's trying not to get pregnant (I was on the pill and hubby and I have been married for many years , but still you know what I mean!!🤪)

We have been trying for 10 months now and won't be going down IVF road...

I'm going to use OPK this new cycle now.
My cycles are 25 days and have been since after having DD1.

Sorry to hear that @Wait2see2 I was also out! A week into new cycle and gearing up for the fertile window! 😆

Welcome to the group @MrsJonesey. It's gone pretty quiet so thanks for for reviving it. Good luck with the TTC journey

MrsJonesey · 23/02/2023 02:10

Bit late to this post but hopefully can jump start it again!
How is everyone doing?
I've just turned 40, have 21,20 and 10 yr olds, just got married in November to my new lovely partner. He has a 24 yr old DD. We've decided to try for one more.
I've never TTC before, always happened so easily but I'm much older now with an older DH (he's 48).
I had one depo in sep 22 then decided we would try so didn't have another. Still waiting for AF so I can begin tracking ovulation. Have no experience of this so it's so useful to read your posts
Baby dust to everyone 🥰

Wait2see2 · 23/02/2023 00:16

I'm out again this month. It's horribly depressing isn't it?

Ninjajay · 31/01/2023 12:40

Back in the tww 😬

How is everyone? Anybody with good news?

Teachermummy83 · 22/01/2023 22:56

Can I please join?
39 and have a 2 Yr old. Took over 18m to conceive 1st time so expected the same again. Not had the chance to consistently try, but after 2yrs without a sniff of a BFP, I'm losing the will to keep trying. Nothing seems to be going in our favour - busy jobs, stressful times, a toddler who never sleeps....... The emotional roller-coaster is just so draining. Desperately want another, but don't know if i can keep going through this disappointment every month.

HildasLostSock · 22/01/2023 20:11

I'd love another but it's not realistic for me (am 46 and in peri) so have been lurking hoping to hear others success stories (not sure how to put it, but hearing others success cheers me up somehow?) and rooting for everyone. @EnnaMc I've had the stretchy cm just before a period before. It's unusual for me only happened the once so I did a ton of googling at the time, it can be something to do with a change in hormone levels but AF sadly still on its way (as was the case for me), or you could be ovulating again if I remember correctly. I didn't have your other symptoms though, so good luck 🍀

EnnaMc · 22/01/2023 16:27

Hi.

I am late on my period (i usually have a 26/27 day cycle but Flo all predicted 28/29 days this month). Either way I'm late as it's now day 30.

I hadn't tracked temp or anything this month as I was no longer trying as such, but definitely did the deed multiple times during what was my ovulation window.

AF hasn't arrived, I have a lot of stretchy CM - almost like the ovulation EWCM but thicker. My breasts feel a little tingly and I feel a little off balance/hot ears and face (don't know if that makes sense).

I've done 2 tests and got a BFN - I know no one can give me an answer to what might be going on but has anyone experienced similar with the symptoms I've mentioned?

Thank you x

Hi guys! So it looks like I am just about to have another miscarriage 😭. Found out last week I was pregnant which was a complete surprise as it's been a year since I fell pregnant last time. My HCG levels were low and didn't double. Had some more today but have just started with the old brown spotting so I'm expecting them to be low. Can't believe this is happening again! I'm just so angry with the universe right now!

I'm so sorry to read this. Sending love x x

@EnnaMc hi lovely just lurking (sorry) but yep that's literally my only symptom. I'm 41 in May have 3 DC and am currently 9dpo. I have lower back pain so probably out this cycle but the mood swings of pms have stayed away🤷‍♀️

It's all so very confusing isn't it. This is my last attempt and then I think I'm done. Can't deal with it anymore. Good luck to you x

Luckystar7jf · 13/01/2023 08:31

Hi all I’m almost 43 and 8 dpo. Am getting my usual pms symptoms so assume i am out! Good luck all

ohblahdeeohblahdahlifegoeson · 13/01/2023 07:01

Hi @MK85

Chemicals are horrible huh, I'm sorry you've also just had one.
In my case, my period arrived a few days late and was fairly average in flow and length. Im now back in the 2WW again (ground hog day!)

Your period sounds more extreme than mine, how many dpo did you get to before it started?
