Hey Guys.

Sorry this might be a long post. I am hoping you guys can advice as my doctors are not being much help at all. I have had to pervious MC's and so just want conformation so I can get an early scan and put my mind at ease.

My last AF was the 2nd - 4th August this year and it was a normal AF for me. However, I have not had one since.

According to Flo I ovulated around the 13th August and so me and the OH DTD around that window.
My cycles normally range from between 21 and 28 days and it changes from month to month.
My AF was due on the 26th August but it never showed up. I had some very light spotting on the 23rd and 24th that only showed when I wiped. It then got a little heavier and so I put a Pad on expecting AF. However, it was only very light (used 1 ST) and stopped within a few hours and then that was it. I am normally a heavy bleeder and so I instantly knew something was off.
I did a couple of cheap pregnancy tests and they came back with faint positives.
The faint positives coupled with a strange tugging sensation behind my belly button prompted me to go to the doctors. I did not see a doctor I saw the practise paramedic. She did a pregnancy and urine test (I could not really go and so there was not much to test). The pregnancy test was negative and the urine test suggested a possible urine infection. Therefore she asked me to do a urine and stool sample to send of to the Lab and get back in contact with the results.
The results came back all clear and so they decided to put my on Omeprazole but all that has done is make my IBS worse and the symptoms are still there.

I have since done some blue clear blue tests and they have all come back negative but I have still been having pregnancy symptoms and still no sign of AF yet. The current symptoms I have are

  • sever nausea and vomiting. I am getting up multipal times a night. Honestly it's so horrible
  • going to the toilet more than normal
  • Sense of smell is stronger than normally and certain smells make my nausea worse.
  • I am very bloated and have a very hard tummy around my Betty Hutton. I know the bloating is not caused by my IBS because I am still going to the toilet.
  • sore and aches Boobs and they have changed in colour and look fuller
  • sever fatigue. All I want to do is sleep.

So therefore all of these things have lead me to believe I am pregnant but the doctors are not willing to do anything else. They want me to be on the Omeprazole for 4 weeks (3 weeks left) and see if that makes a difference to anything. They also refuse to do blood tests which I have asked for multiple times
I have contacted my Local EPU but they will not see me unless the doctors refer me to them. I just have no clue what to do next.

Big - bug

reevonomia · 20/09/2022 07:39

I’ve just read your whole thread. Sympathies OP, I know how tough MC is. It sounds like you’ve possibly had a big on top, too? You must be exhausted.

I hope the housing situation improves and you have a good interview tomorrow, and hopefully when things have settled down a bit you can try again when you feel able to.

Gillseybear · 20/09/2022 07:23

Hey Guys,

Just a quick update that it ended up being bad news. I started bleeding rather heavily with severe cramps and I have had another misscariage.
Gutted is an understatement thank you for all the support

Congrats on a positive test result

Now send refer to the local maternity unit & you'll get booked in for maternity booking appointment with midwife

If any tummy pain or bleeding go to A&E if severe or otherwise speak with GP to get you referred to early pregnancy unit

@cultkid
I cannot possibly be pregnant from this cycle as me and my partner have not had sex this past month where I have been so poorly. I have just not been in the mood at all and so it's not possible.

How strange

I would expect a stronger line at 7 weeks for sure

I would be demanding blood tests and then have them repeated at 12 weeks

Email the community midwives tell them you're 8 weeks pregnant and then they will give you a booking appointment and a scan dates.

You need bloods to see what is going on, at 7 weeks lines are very strong it doesn't sound right to me

There's no proof reqd to show you're pregnant

In theory I could tell the midwives I'm 8 weeks and they would believe me and book an appointment and scan

You poor thing I'm sorry you're going though this

If you feel well enough to go to the interview, definitely go. I was at the same stage of pregnancy when I had the interview for my current job. I didn't tell them I was pregnant until I was a couple of months into the job. They were very understanding.

cultkid · 19/09/2022 09:49

I think you had a chemical and are pregnant again this month so I think it's early days and you're around 4 weeks

Heartfelt congratulations

Gillseybear · 18/09/2022 21:56

@MrsT8509 I am around 7 weeks. Well it will be 7 weeks on Tuesday since my last AF anyway. So we shall wait and see. Xx

@Cartmel & @ShaneTwane thank you so much. Hopefully this is positive news now. Just got to see what happens.

Only downside is I have been invited for an interview for my dream job on Wednesday. It's a traineeship with the NHS to become a HCA and so hoping I can still do it but we shall wait and see.

@Gillseybear Thats brilliant news glad your feeling a little better sometimes all it takes is for one health professional to be on your side and everything falls into place

ShaneTwane · 18/09/2022 21:22

Tentative congratulations, hopefully you are taken more seriously moving forward:)

MrsT8509 · 18/09/2022 21:18

@Gillseybear Yay! Congratulations! So how far do you think you are? So glad the meds have worked and you are feeling a lot better, and that you managed to get someone to listen to you. Just goes to show that us women know our bodies! Xx

Gillseybear · 18/09/2022 21:16

Hey everybody and @MrsT8509

Just thought I would post a quick update for you. The anti-sickness meds have really helped and I have not been sick as much at all. The nausea is still there but it's better than it was.
I also got my positive on the Frer test. It was not a dye stealer but it's there clear enough to see. So I am going to take that as a tentative positive for now.
Thank you to all of you who advised me to contact 111 and have advice. It is very much appreciated.

@MrsT8509 thank you so much 😂😂😂. I shall defo be doing all of them things. I am exhausted. I feel asleep at about 6 Pm and the doctor rang me at 9am and so had about 3 hours sleep. I will defo be needing a nap this afternoon I am exhausted and I have to stay up until gone midnight when the other half gets back.

MrsT8509 · 18/09/2022 10:01

@Gillseybear I thought so 🤣 go get your prescription, do your test, and have a good sleep, you'll be knackered after being up most of the night! Let me know how you get on xx

Gillseybear · 18/09/2022 09:55

@MrsT8509 sorry I typed that message to fast. It was supposed to say that with the symptoms I am showing she believes that it is pregnancy symptoms and that there is nothing to suggest a miscarriage or chemical at the moment. I really need to slow down and reread what I type 😂

Honestly it was so nice to speak to a doctor who finally listened to me and was understanding of everything. I can finally stop taking the dam Omeprazole. Yay that should help with my IBS symptoms.

Yes I am going to do my My Frer today. I need to pop out and grab my prescription but I shall do it when I get back from the picking up the prescription. Xx

@Algor1thm,

Thank you so much for your response. The doctors did do a test when I saw them but at the time I could not go for a pee. (Was not expecting to be asked for one) and so there was only a dribble of urine in the cup. Therefore, they told me to do some home tests. I have done the cheapie ones and had a few faint positives.

@cultkid thank you for your response. As mentioned above, the doctor does not believe it's a chemical or miscarriage because if it was then I would not be having all the symptoms I am getting. She wants me to keep an eye on things and to get in contact with the midwife ect from the 27th September if still no sign of AF.

MrsT8509 · 18/09/2022 09:47

@Gillseybear did you last part about when you asked about miscarriage mean she does think you're pregnant or doesn't? Not sure if it was a typo. I'm so glad you have managed to soeak to someone who has out your mind at ease a little. Are you going to do your frer this morning? Xx

Gillseybear · 18/09/2022 09:44

@MrsT8509 I have finally heard from the out of hours doctor. She was really helpful and listened to everything I had to say. It was really nice.
After chatting to her she believes that this is all caused by pregnancy symptoms and that it's just really bad morning sickness. Therefore she has prescribed me some anti sickness medication and some diarhalite as she is worried that I am going to get dehydrated.
She has said that if if you are pregnant, you can still get false negatives and if after it's been 8 weeks since my last period (27th September) and I have still not had another period then to contact the doctors and get the midwife process started.

I did ask about the possibility of a miscarriage and she said with how my symptoms are currently, she does not believe that I am pregnant but to just keep an eye on things and contact GP or 111 if my mild cramps become anything more than just mild and I get other symptoms.

Thank you all so much for your advice and support I really appreciate it

If you're pregnant then the test will show it

The hormone will be in your urine

At 6 weeks you won't be able to see much on a scan

Buy a packet of ten from Amazon for like £4

Sounds very stressful I'm sorry you're going through this

Yes CB do have very strong lines on them even before you use them and i really hate them

I think you had a chemical last month and then you'll have a late period this month

Are you TTC?

All my love

Algor1thm · 18/09/2022 07:06

So sorry to hear of everything you're going through. However if thw doctors did a test after your AF was already late and it came back negative, then I'm afraid there's no chance at all you're pregnant currently. As others have said, it sounds like a chemical which maybe has wreaked havoc on your hormones. I hope the doctors can help.

Gillseybear · 18/09/2022 05:14

@MrsT8509 Just a little update for you. I am still up waiting to hear back from out of hours doctors. They said they would call me within 2 hours of my phone call at half 9 but I have still not heard anything.
So I have been up all night and spent most of the night in the toilet being poorly. I am hoping the doctors will be able to help soon.

Gillseybear · 17/09/2022 22:24

@Horcruxe no I am 3 weeks late now. I had some very light spotting just before my period was due that got slightly heavier but it was nowhere near heavy enough to be classed as a period.

@Cartmel & @MrsT8509 thank you so much, that is so reassuring in a way. I have contacted 111 and am just waiting to speak to somebody bow and then I shall go from there. They are concerned but we shall see what the doctors say.
