I'm OK, thanks @thislittlebird . I'm so happy to hear you are going on holiday... I'm super jealous 😁 Although relaxing in my garden in the sun yesterday and today has been nice, as we have had 29 degrees!

Keep us updated with your appointment on Tuesday x

thislittlebird · 14/05/2023 18:06

Hey @Kay00, how are you feeling a few days later? I’m fine, you know how it is. Speaking to our consultant on Tuesday so need to prep for that tomorrow. Packing for my birthday Portugal trip next week.

I was going to say, that sounds like a bit of endo but hopefully they’ve resolved it.

That sounds like all of this, doesn’t it? A very invasive stab in the dark, and so far no pay off lol

Hi ladies, how are you doing?

I had my laparoscopic ovarian drilling today. I'm home and recovering and feel ok, although I'm in a bit of pain and discomfort.

Interestingly the consultant found my left ovary had aheared to an organ (I assume my uterus) and she had to separate it. A friend tells me this can contribute to infertility.

I wonder whether it got stuck to my uterus after a previous round of IVF or whether this has been a long standing issue for me.

Luckily no endometriosis found (unless it was endo that had glued my ovary to my insides), but I'm not getting my hopes that any of this will work. I feel like it's just a very invasive stab in the dark 😅

Much love to you all x

thislittlebird · 29/04/2023 08:00

@Kay00 yeah, I am. My consultant emailed saying he was pleased to hear we had an embryo and I replied saying I want to discuss pred because I had an immune response to the embryo and also want to discuss more progesterone support. Especially since my natural levels will be very low on a FET, need to discuss taking letrozole for it maybe.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 28/04/2023 23:46

@thislittlebird that is very good news 💕 so you have one solidly good embryo on ice. Now you need to find the correct set up for a FET. Are you going to talk again to the clinic about prednisolone?

thislittlebird · 28/04/2023 09:21

Yeah, we got one euploid embryo out of three, the 4AA. So that's good. I'm just pretty convinced that the 5AA was probably good too, and tried to implant so it feels like such a missed opportunity.

Kay00 · 28/04/2023 06:57

Thinking of you @thislittlebird , I hope you get some good news today xx

JeanieJ · 26/04/2023 12:00

@thislittlebird I'm sorry. You've had such a rough ride and it's just not fair. Take all the time you need and hopefully you get some good results in the next few days x

thislittlebird · 26/04/2023 10:01

@JeanieJ probably between today and Friday. I’m not expecting much, clearly we aren’t very good at this.

I’m supposed to be working today but I’m just sat on my sofa in my pyjamas. I’m too busy to call in sick and I’m off on Friday anyway.

I feel so stupid expecting this would work for us a year ago, really wish I’d never wanted kids.

JeanieJ · 26/04/2023 09:56

@thislittlebird 😔I'm sorry, that really sucks 💔. When will you find out about the PGT-A results? xx

thislittlebird · 25/04/2023 23:46

@Kay00 they made me do an NK cell test and it came back normal range so they didn’t advise it. But i’m convinced I have an overreactive immune system at the very least, so i’m going to push for it. How can they possibly know what my body is doing? Not everything can be tested and I know a) the only implantation I had was on that and b) I have an array of immune related issues that they’re currently choosing to ignore.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 25/04/2023 23:33

It certainly sounds like something was trying to happen. I'm sorry that it didn't make it this time 😔.

I'm guessing you have spoken to the clinic about using Prednisolone again, did they give you a reason why you couldn't use it this time?

thislittlebird · 25/04/2023 23:28

@Kay00 no, I don’t think so, I’m bleeding like my period is about to start properly now. I started bleeding 7dp5dt and it’s gone quickly from spotting to red light bleeding today, which is 8dp5dt. Stopped the meds tonight and had two stark white negative tests. OTD is tomorrow but it’s stupid to wait until the morning when you’re already bleeding, y’know? I had a crazy eczema outbreak on 4dp5dt and then this weird migraine/fatigue/flushed cheeks/nausea day on 5dp5dt. I think something was happening with the embryo and maybe my body was fighting it off? I definitely need to push for prednisolone, the only time I had implantation was when I was on that. Hopefully we’ll have another embryo to try with, worst case it’ll be our 5CC 😬

OP posts:
Kay00 · 25/04/2023 23:00

@thislittlebird 😞 meh! I'm so sorry you had a negative test. What day did you feel implantation? And what day is it now? Could it still be too early?

thislittlebird · 25/04/2023 16:21

Another negative test for me. I could have sworn implantation had happened or was attempted. I felt like I did last time, when I had the chemical. Started spotting the same time too, but negative test. The only time I’ve achieved implantation was when on prednisone, so I need to hope I get a PGT-A embryo and another chance.

@Kay00 also our fertility consultant totally dismissed dna frag test too & said we can just jump straight into icsi instead of trying to resolve it.
V annoying.
x

JeanieJ · 22/04/2023 13:55

@Kay00 I really recommend the DNA frag test & also seeing a urologist if you can.
If we hadn't have done it last year, I firmly believe we would have walked into a standard IVF cycle & it would have gone badly.
For us, getting the result gave us answers as we were 'unexplained' before & it helped us figure out a way to help resolve things before doing ICSI. I'm still not out of the woods with this pregnancy, but I really think that I've only got this far because of that test & everything that happened after.

And, if your partners results are normal, then at least you know.
x

thislittlebird · 22/04/2023 12:57

I meant to type ‘BUT at least that means he can’t avoid it’, which would make more sense

I’m planning some gardening for early or Mid May, hoping the weather picks up soon.

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 22/04/2023 12:56

@Kay00 definitely milk the days off! I took three days sick for EC and then worked from home the week after.

Ugh men and their sperm. We’re not lucky DH has an obvious problem, so at least he’s been unable to avoid it. Some consultants really don’t help matters either, it’s an expensive process and you want to maximise the outcome. The times we’ve been told ICSI will overcome all sperm ills and it’s just not true.

Test day is Wednesday. I really don’t know what to do, I have a busy couple of days at work and don’t know whether to wait until those days are over and I’m finished for the day on Wednesday night. Usually I’ve caved and tested the day/night before because my body has given me reason to. A couple of times my period has started before test day, but hopefully I’m on so much progesterone that that won’t happen this time.

Kay00 · 21/04/2023 22:16

Yes, it's keyhole, so I'm hoping to be back to normal within a couple of days. But might milk a few days off work 😜

I think OH isn't interested in having issues with his sperm... So by his logic, he can avoid that by avoiding the DNA frag. It doesn't help that our fertility consultant said he didn't need it, so changing his mind would be like turning the Titanic... And it's not worth the hassle unfortunately.

When is your test day @thislittlebird ?

thislittlebird · 21/04/2023 08:35

@Kay00 the issue now is I’m dreading getting a BFN and bad genetic testing results on the same day 😩. It’s never a smooth ride in this game!

Not reducing seems like a good plan. My worst outcome was with a varying dose (150/225 alternate days) and the consistency seems to work better for me.

It’s worth dna fragmentation doing tests on him if only to rule it out would be great. Why isn’t he keen?

Ovarian drilling is keyhole? You should be ok for the trip.

@Kay00 well I hope it goes well & that you have a good recovery 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Disneyland sounds fun 🤩 hope you have a blast!

xx

Kay00 · 20/04/2023 13:50

Just the Paris one 😊 but I'm sure it will be a lovely trip

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 20/04/2023 13:17

@thislittlebird crossing my fingers hard for you and wishing you all the best with this round🤞

@Kay00 - Paris or Florida? Either way, I hope it's wonderful!

Kay00 · 19/04/2023 21:51

@thislittlebird I'm just so bloody pleased with your results. I hope you get genetically normal results too, but I also home your transferred egg is the one that sticks 🤞

My Stims dose is usually Meriofert 150mg and then we reduce. I think our plan will be to keep at 150mg without reducing through the stims cycle.

My OH has low morphology, but decent numbers. We haven't had his sperm genetically tested, but I am keen to do it (OH isn't).

@JeanieJ I'm unsure about the recovery time, for some people it takes a couple of weeks, but for others it's a couple of days. My op is on a Friday and I'll probably take most of the following week off work, the week after that however I'm off to Disneyland with my mum, sis and niece lol, so I hope I'm recovered by then.
