@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl welcome to the new thread! 2.5 months?! That’s crazy. Can you challenge that with PALS or contact the secretary and ask for a cancellation slot?

I have to say I can’t fault my clinic in this regard really. He was late for my phone appointment by about 45 mins but it didn’t take long so it was ok, and for my previous follow up he was early by two days. Guys have always given me an appointment three weeks after I log my negative test with them, then you can start on your next cycle or another one you choose.

@Kay00 love those doggos! I wish i wasn't allergic to them. I feel like you moved roles in the last year or two, or did I make that up? I'm long overdue a move but covid mucked everything up + the two I was interviewed for I didn't get.🫠

@beckyCarlos what does provera do?

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 24/08/2022 23:53

@kay00 they are so beautiful!!!

@iwillbewaxinganowl that is an epic name change!

No idea if my provera is affecting me but I'm on pill 3 (one am, one pm) and I'm shattered and bloated, feel like a whale🐋 more than likel in my head but its gonna be a long 12 days!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 24/08/2022 23:14

@thislittlebird our consultant review was recently cancelled and pushed back 2.5 months... On only 5 days notice 🙄. Which is a shame as we were hoping they would add us to the 9month long IVF waitlist. All the nurses at the NHS assisted conception we have seen are super nice but the overall system is broken and vastly under-resourced

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 24/08/2022 23:12

Hello all 👋. I'm the poster formerly known as TheDaydreamBelievers ☺️. Okay if I join again?

Brief history for those who I don't know yet:
33yrs old, TTC #1 for 2.5 years.
Conceived once in Sept 2020 but fetus died at 11 weeks, MMC at 12 week scan and had ERPC surgery. No cause found (all tests apart from genetics done).
Assessments - AMH, bloods, semen analysis, hycosy, scans X3.
Results - v high AMH, not ovulating alone, tubes are clear, not quite enough cysts to get a PCOS diagnosis, DH semen is great.

Journey with letrozole (since Feb 2022):
2.5mg didn't work
5mg worked for a single cycle (ovulated) then didn't work
Now waiting out one natural cycle (CD36 and nothing happening, get to take norethisterone from CD40 to start over) then will start 7.5mg

Also trying to lose a little weight to support fertility, stay in range for IVF

Kay00 · 24/08/2022 22:11

Doggo 2 (ps. That's not my house 😆)

@thislittlebird thanks for setting up the new thread 😊 Here are some pics of my terrible twosome... jokes, they are angles (most of the time).

Good luck going for the new job little bird. I'm going to apply for an internal role too... eek!

@99pctpractice oh wow, three on board! I have everything crossed for you! Xx

Ok he called and was very apologetic, he is a nice consultant. I've agreed with him I'll take more progesterone this time, and be tested for my progesterone, he said it was 26 on the day I was tested/my period started last time. I need to email the nurses to say I'm back on the FET list and will be doing 2 embryos this time. He also said he'd refer us on to andrologist to get another assessment of DH's varicocele.

thislittlebird · 23/08/2022 10:41

Well, the appointment for the consultant is now 40 mins late and no one is picking up at the clinic to ask if they’re running late. In this regard I look forward to getting to private in a couple of months.

thislittlebird · 23/08/2022 10:06

Getting this job might help me, it might open doors to other jobs. But I need to get it first. 🫠

@99pctpractice I forgot to reply this this not. we’ll definitely be moving to Cornwall but we had a chat about it and decided we need to wait for now. We have stable incomes, a fixed rate mortgage, a fixed rate energy deal. We’re going to spend the next six months saving as much as we can, since we have to pay for ivf in the winter and have no idea what summer will bring costs wise when our fixed rate energy deal ends. But we will get there eventually, and probably before our mortgage fixed rate ends, which is the end of 2025.

@99pctpractice fingers crossed for that triad!

@Beyondshit i think it’s 13 days at my clinic

Speaking of which, the consultant is calling me in a bit, but my brain is all foggy with a headache, maybe a pre-migraine, and I really want to be clear about the progesterone issues I had. Need to make some notes.

On the dog front, I’m going to meet with someone about this job later and see if I can suss out how flexible it could be. But I don’t want to ask that outright, I wish my brain wasn’t doing this painful fog thing, it is not helpful.

I know!! Over 40 and not great quality equals maximum number transferred. My husband is already fantasising about giving up work if we have triplets. Never going to happen!! Feeling relieved to not have to worry about lab updates anymore and hoping that they enjoy being in utero and get nice and settled there!

@Beyondshit that is a looong time to wait to test. Was it a day 5 blastocyst?

@thislittlebird I'd say go for it too, but I tend to overextend myself so may not be the best person to advise on this...! Maybe go and see a few puppies and see how you feel about it? I have signed up to waiting lists with a few breeders for when they have their next litters! Good luck with the application for the new role at work too - will that change the plan for moving to Cornwall?

Beyondshit · 22/08/2022 19:57

Three!!! @99pctpractice Here's hoping one sticks!!

My clinic of course gives me a stupid 16 days after transfer instruction to test. I might make it to 13, next Friday so I can have the weekend to have a cry (and wine) when the inevitable happens.

@thislittlebird not sure what to advise re dog other than 'things usually work themselves out'. One of us was at home 24 hours with pup in the beginning, taking him outside for a pee every 20 minutes during the day. We both WFH most of the time and arrange it so one of us is at home each day. There's only been one time we BOTH had to be out 7am-7pm and I left him at a friend's for the day.

beckyCarlos · 22/08/2022 19:26

Ooh @99pctpractice thats exciting!

@thislittlebird I'd say just go for it. I found it super hard for the first few weeks (pre covid, in the office all the time) but we got a dog cam (webcam, nothing fancy) and set it to motion sensor notification/record, all it caught him doing was napping, stretching, a short patrol of his rooms, and settling in a new spot. Oh and the occasional bark at the postie if we got a delivery we werent in for!

thislittlebird · 22/08/2022 18:48

Stupid browser refreshed.

I think I’m going to apply for a new role at work (again 🙄) but it made me think I should wait on the dog plan. If I get it, I might not have such flexibility straight away. Or, do I just think sod it and go for it? My husband is home by 3pm or leaves home by 1pm depending on his shifts. Not sure if that would work if I have to be in the office for two days.

@99pctpractice that’s great news that they’re on board. Three chances is better than zero chances, fingers crossed for you. Did they grade them?

OP posts:
99pctpractice · 22/08/2022 18:12

Thanks @beckyCarlos and @pinkginpls 3 embryos now on board so we just have to hope that one of them makes it!!! Not impossible so we just have to hope for the best. Looking forward to 10 days of blissful ignorance before we test a week on Saturday...! (Or more likely a couple of days before I start panicking again)

pinkginpls · 22/08/2022 14:53

thanks for the new thread @thislittlebird

Got some catching up to do on the last few pages of the old thread. been trying to enjoy summer and less screen time. hope everyone is doing well and love to see dog loving is taking over for a bit 😁

@99pctpractice fingers cross, it may still work out.

beckyCarlos · 22/08/2022 13:31

@99pctpractice so sorry to hear its not great news. Will keep everything crossee for you. X x

@tinkerbell098 they are the best arent they! He is my world and I love him to bits, but boy I dont miss those teeth.

99pctpractice · 22/08/2022 10:47

Thanks @Tinkerbell098 @thislittlebird embryo update this morning wasn't positive but I think they'll still put some back this afternoon. Feeing very despondent about the whole thing. If we hadn't already decided we wouldn't do more ivf then we definitely have now!!!

Tinkerbell098 · 22/08/2022 10:19

Didn't realise our old thread has already maxed out.

@99pctpractice Good luck for transfer today, let us know how it goes.

@Beyondshit very cute doggo! I do the same with mine, take a thousand pics and share across all my whatsapp groups haha!

@beckyCarlos I've got a GSD too, he's 2 1/2 years now and is also my best friend. I know what you mean about puppy teeth, they HURT!! They make the cutest puppies though and I love him to bits.

thislittlebird · 21/08/2022 21:43

He sounds like a secret local legend to me @beckyCarlos, your one is less secret 😂. A loud legend. He sounds very specific in his choice of nemeses. Ngl the bodily functions scare the shit out of me 😩. No pun intended. I don’t know how I’ll deal.

@99pctpractice wow that mum sounds like a right cow.

ET tomorrow is better than none but I’m relieved to hear your six are still in the running. Fingers crossed some make it x

OP posts:
Beyondshit · 21/08/2022 16:28

@99pctpractice I have everything crossed for you and your embryos!

99pctpractice · 21/08/2022 12:17

Oof. 6 embryos still in the running, but all showing some signs of fragmentation. The embryologist didn't say it was terminal but based on my past history it isn't looking good. They're almost certainly going to do a transfer tomorrow but I'm already just feeling a bit crushed and like I know what the outcome is going to be. I wish this process wasn't so hard. I'd say unpredictable but it feels like for me it is becoming increasingly predictable 🤣

99pctpractice · 21/08/2022 10:01

@Beyondshit @beckyCarlos your dogs are sooooo gorgeous!! Those eyes!! A friend of mine's mum named her dog her favourite potential baby name. They have a difficult relationship at the best of times but that was a really low blow. I have never really tried to think about baby names because I'm stupidly superstitious so at least I'm spared that side of the heartache!!

Waiting for embryo update and they said they'd call 8-10 but I'm still waiting so obviously assuming the worst and that none have made it overnight...aargh! I wish ivf wasn't such a painful process!

beckyCarlos · 20/08/2022 19:29

@beyondshit hes GORGEOUS!!!! I'm hoping hes outing because he is indeed a local legend 🤣 mine probably is a local legend...for being a dick 🤣 he can walk past a dog 99 times and be fine, and then the 100th time he'll bark in their face. He has two nemesis in the village as well, they see each other and bristle and bark like their lives depend on it. Ones a tiny terrier and the other os a Tibetian Mastiff 🙈

@thislittlebird absolutely, I had such reservations, but he brings me such joy and comfort, and makes me smile every single day. He also helped me know I was ready to have kids (the irony) and I'm much more confident in myself and my ability to deal now, especially with bodily functions 🤣
