@thislittlebird would it be possible to reschedule the presentation part of the interview at all or is that a no? That is really bad timing, but I hope you find a way around it and manage to reduce your anxiety. Sorry got zero experience on Cyclogest. Would they not scan you before transfer to confirm ovulation?

beckyCarlos · 16/09/2022 13:05

Oh no @thislittlebird always the bloody way isnt it! The only discharge I remember from cyclogest is the godawful wax 🙈 there could have been anything in there for me and I wouldn't have known lol. Hopefully someone else will have some experience :) x

thislittlebird · 16/09/2022 12:51

@beckyCarlos the problem is it's the one I actually want lol. The other job is doing what I do now and I'm over it, but I went for it because it paid more. It's such bad timing ugh.

Yeah, I'm just not sure if the Cyclogest could cause EWCM. It's very confusing, since I think of that as an oestrogen thing.

beckyCarlos · 16/09/2022 12:40

@thislittlebird have you thought about pulling out of the presentation interview? (bit harder as its internal, but if you know its going to make you super stressed and you'd rather not it might be a way forward?) X

I've never had an FET, but my clinic does progesterone from egg collection day, so I guess with an FET if its the same process it'd be 5 days before transfer? I was going to say I'll ask a friend whos just had one, but I know she was on injections not pessaries (but I can still ask if you want?) X

thislittlebird · 16/09/2022 10:25

The other thing I meant to ask you all: has anyone here started progesterone before the day of transfer? This is my first time taking it pre-transfer.

The reason I ask is I have a migraine today, and I had a lot of EWCM yesterday morning. I was supposed to have ovulated around Tuesday according to the tests, and now I’m not sure if they were right. What if my surge was Tuesday and my ovulation was yesterday? EWCM is not usually the day before . I’m worried the embryos will be going in earlier than they should. I really do wish the clinic would scan me to check I have ovulated.

Thanks @Tinkerbell098 @beckyCarlos

It’s not the focus I’m worried about, it’s my anxiety. Public speaking is a big mental obstacle for me and I knew this applying for one of the jobs so to get the interview has immediately cranked up the anxiety 😦

I don’t like me under pressure like I will be for the next few days, wouldn’t blame my embryos if they didn’t like me either :/

Tinkerbell098 · 15/09/2022 22:05

@thislittlebird oh that’s amazing you got two interviews coming up. Well done! I think a distraction is always good and it’ll take your mind off things. Take it as a positive. I don’t think focusing on something else is going to ruin your IVF chances. Best of luck for Sunday X

beckyCarlos · 15/09/2022 19:42

@thislittlebird congrats!! Maybe the focus on the interviews will be a redirection and be good for your embryos :) (I can hear someone saying this to me and feel my eyes rolling at it though lol) x x

thislittlebird · 15/09/2022 18:44

Ladies, I am stressed. I have my transfer on Sunday and two internal interviews at the same time/day (??!?!?) on Wednesday, one involves a 5 minute presentation and I am so worried I'm going to cock everything up getting in a tizz. I've basically got to spend from now until then working on all this but I just want to chill after my transfer and now I cannot😞

I hope it's all ok, but I know I'm going to be stressed and worried I'll sabotage my embryos :/

@Tinkerbell098 😅 my ovaries might be rammed full of eggs (AMH 64) but my eggs are rubbish quality... So it's swings and roundabouts 😂 the low drugs cost is a bonus though!

beckyCarlos · 14/09/2022 17:42

@tinkerbell098 its hard isnt it, I read into every little flutter in my belly 🤣 I hate going away while I'm taking injections, took my downreg backnin march and was terrified I'd forget something so took the whole box, stims and all 🤣

Tinkerbell098 · 14/09/2022 16:08

@beckyCarlos I think I'm starting to have symptoms now, mainly feeling really full, although not sure if it's because I've been gulping down water every half an hour or so haha! Also felt some small twinges last night after the injection, but possible reading too much into it. I start Fyremadal (I had to look it up!) on Saturday. We are going away for two nights on Sunday for my birthday so having to take our injections kit with us. Just feel odd carrying a pharmacy away on holiday as I'm also taking the ton of supplements I'm on. Really can't wait for all this to end X

beckyCarlos · 14/09/2022 13:51

@tinkerbell098 going ok (I think) currently trying to trust the process and accept that discharge means its working (not that I'm ovualting early haha, my current obsession), start fremadryl (spelling?!) Tomorrow AM so I should chill out then! Nothing at all for me until day 9 which is sunday, so trying to keep calm and carry on till then 😅 how are you feeling?

@kay00 yeah mine was about 2k initially, but if I need more stims itll easily top 3 as the ovaleap/meriofert work out about 200 a day (I'm on 450)

Tinkerbell098 · 14/09/2022 11:19

@Beyondshit sorry to hear you are also having to deal with relationship stuff. Definitely take some time off to be together and really hope you two can figure things out. Lots of love X

@Kay00 that's an amazing price! I was expecting medicine to cost about £2k!

@beckyCarlos how's stimming going? when's your next scan? I'm not having any scans until Day 10! they said a blood test is all they need on day 5 to see how everything's going. How ridiculous!

99pctpractice · 14/09/2022 09:04

Ha ha - @Kay00 your ovaries must be in much better shape than mine, I was on 600 Meriofert/Fostimon for 12 days and spent way over £3k in meds in total in my last round. But then Argc throw everything at it in terms of blood thinners, lubion plus cyclogest etc. so I don't think it's representative!!! Previous rounds had been more like £2500 I think (450 gonal f was my standard dose at my last clinic).

@Beyondshit I'm sorry you're dealing with relationship issues as well as all the fertility sh1t. my oh and I have had a very rocky few weeks so I can sympathise. We've had some very difficult discussions which it might have been better for each of us to have independently with therapists (!) but it has helped us work through things. I think it's helped that we've also done some things together that don't involve any fertility chat. I hope you're able to figure things out. Definitely take some time off work if you can't - hopefully you get the extra bank holiday too! Sending big hugs.

thislittlebird · 13/09/2022 21:39

@Kay00 that’s the one I get my NHS meds from actually

OP posts:
Kay00 · 13/09/2022 21:34

I agree with @beckyCarlos , your mental health and your physical health need to be looked after xx

The pharmacy are online, called Fertility2U they seem pretty good and the meds are delivered promptly to my door.

beckyCarlos · 13/09/2022 20:49

I had a trigger left, it saved me the princley sum of £7 🤣 my meriofert bill is sooooo much bigger 🙈

@beyondshit feeling all mixed up inside and 'pain' in your heart is no different to vomiting everywhere or having one of those colds where it hurts to move your head off the pillow. Just because its not 'physical' doesnt mean you should feel bad for taking time off (she says...knowing its bloody hard, and also feeling like shes letting everyone down when she takes a day). X x x

thislittlebird · 13/09/2022 20:36

@Kay00 where did you get them? I was on gonal f once per day for what, 10 days? Can’t remember how long you stim for. Then Fyremadel, and then Cyclogest. Obviously might be on more next time but attempt one wasn’t a lot of drugs.

OP posts:
Kay00 · 13/09/2022 20:30

@Beyondshit maybe it would be nice you and your OH do something nice together, to help take your mind off things? It is such a difficult process xx

My meds are ridiculously cheap 😅 I think it's because I'm on a low stim but I get...

Meriofert 150iu x 10
Cetrotide 0.25 x 5
Cyclogest x 45
Progynova x 2
Diclofenac x 1

I already had left over Northisterone and I guess I'll be paying for my trigger separately?

thislittlebird · 13/09/2022 20:26

@Beyondshit I’m sorry the relationship shit is happening too. It’s really crap. Could you have a break and spend a bit of time together and see how you feel in a couple of months? Definitely take time off sick if you want to.

thanks, my expectations are low but time will tell.

OP posts:
Beyondshit · 13/09/2022 19:49

Thank you @Gracie2021 and @kay00 for the info.

I took this afternoon off, told my boss I had some personal stuff to deal with. I don't know if I can face tomorrow - due to be in the office. But I feel things are only going to get worse so if I need time off I should save it. Relationship teetering.

Wishing you so much luck @thislittlebird for your transfer. All of my everything crossed for you.

thislittlebird · 13/09/2022 19:47

Oh hello @Kay00 👀

what meds did you get for that? I’m assuming it might be a bit more than yours, I’ve assumed £1-2k

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 13/09/2022 19:08

Crikey @kay00 those drugs are cheap! My ovaries must be really broken 🤣

Kay00 · 13/09/2022 18:40

Hi ladies.

@Beyondshit just as a comparison my current IVF round with an NHS clinic in Devon has cost £4240 and the meds were a grand total of £294.52. So just over 4.5k. It's not cheap by any means, but more affordable than a lot of places.

@Tinkerbell098 @beckyCarlos good luck with your stimming! My baseline scan is on the 23rd, so I'm not far behind x
