@beckyCarlos yey for collection tomorrow! I'm not far off. Just been for a scan this morning and I've been told I'm ready to trigger tonight. So collection would be Friday for me. Also looking forward to this incredible sleep everyone's mentioned :)

I agree with the sex reveal and the baby shower things... They are not for me. I am not that keen on having too much attention on me and it's all a bit fussy and frilly. I'm too practical for that shit, and wouldn't want to jinx anything anyways. Bah (humbug)!

@99pctpractice paddle boarding sounds cool. I want a break but I just don’t think we can justify it beyond a UK trip this year with ivf starting. Hopefully can get a wintry break in.

I don’t think I’d be able to resist finding out, I’ve been waiting so long to think about names and may never get there, but I really can’t stand this gender reveal malarkey. Lbr, the only people who care are mum and dad of baby and grandparents. People making a song and dance about it are making it more about them but maybe that’s just me being harsh 🤨. I also feel similarly about baby showers, it’s all very yankie doodle dandy, miss me with that thanks.

@beckyCarlos same old cliche but it only takes one as you know. Fingers crossed 🤞 you get a bonus one or two!

that podcast sounds interesting, might have to check it out. I really do wish I was better at reading and less distracted by social media.

Ooh @99pctpractice I've started listening to one calle nothing much happens; bedtime stories for grown ups. The narrator has such a soothing voice (and nothing happens at all, she just describes someone walking down the beach or tidying their living room, but its so soothing! Your holiday sounds lovely 😍

@thislittlebird good luck tomorrow!! I think 4 is optimistic, the littlest one hasnt grown at all, realistically 1, hopefully three if I can encourage the others to grown a bit more!

Re gender reveal 100% I dont even want to know until its here and screaming !

It's near Thessaloniki - nice beach, nice food, all in all very relaxing. Not much by way of interesting stuff to see but tbh we needed a bit of a chill out rather than an action packed holiday!! Paddle boarding is the extent of the adventures that I feel like...

@Kay00 I'm with @thislittlebird, your sil really sounds the height of insensitive. If you can, it might be easier in the long term if you are honest with her now and say while you're delighted she's pregnant, you're not in a place right now where you feel like you can be excited for her gender reveal in the way that you feel like she would like you to. i mean, when did the gender reveal have to become such a thing anyway? I'm such a humbug about this stuff - why can't people just find out at their scan like everyone always used to? Have you started stims now? Hopefully those embryos won't be the slightest bit crummy 🤞

when is your ET due? Yeah sorry to your sister in law but I’d be busy that day. That’s kind of insensitive and self obsessed imo.

Ooooh @beckyCarlos good luck!! Really hoping those littler follicles catch up and you double your numbers from last time! Very much envy you the big sleep. I keep waking up in the middle of the night, mind whirring and not being able to get back to sleep again so could well do with one of those!!!! Still on the what ifs. If anyone has any non-fertility podcast recommendations it would be much appreciated for the getting back to sleep distraction!!

Having a lovely time in Greece. Just doing my best not to count the no of children per family, age gaps, pregnant ladies, etc. i didn't know other people did this until Emma Barnett mentioned it in her trying newsletter, ha! my oh is now better, phew. I have had some weird cramping - i thought it was a dodgy tum, but it doesn't seem to be. Feels a lot like period pains but I only had my post-ivf bleed a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else had v short cycles / cramping post ivf? I've usually had longer cycles, but I guess it could go either way (especially if I'm on holiday and completely unprepared 🤣)

Hope you're all ok and things are looking good for everyone. I had my second scan today, and my little 13mm follicle has grown to 17mm! The two small ones with that one have grown 2mm each, and the other small one on the other side is languishing. Waiting on a call from the clinic to confirm if I should take my final dose of stims (I hope so, just to give the other two a boost/fighting chance)and egg collection on Fri, or if its egg collection on Thurs... nerve wracking but also good! X

@kay00 jeez thats harsh of her! I know shes entitled to be over the moon, but of all people she should know you'll be, at best, a little affected by that. Can you log in but say you have camera issues, not put the camera on, and get your partner to watch it via ear phones and man the chat or something?

My SIL (the one who was TTC for 7 years, lost a shit ton of weight so she could start IVF then got pregnant naturally) wants to do a family live stream of her gender reveal on the day before I'm due to have an embryo transfer (or not, if none of my crummy embryos make it).

I'm not sure if I'll have the patience for it to be honest. I'm super pleased for her, but she knows my situation and has still be showing off about being pregnant around me. Going on about how hard it is, and how rubbish her symptoms make her feel... Seriously... She must know that I would kill to be in her position, to feel rubbish and have those symptoms for that reason 🙄

@99pctpractice I'm dying at that bum injection! As if he has the cheek (accidental pun). How lovely to be in Greece! When we went away in the summer it was just what I needed, I know you cant run away from your problems forever but for two weeks it was bloody lovely! Physical distance is definitely necessary sometimes. Next scan is Tues at 10am (no idea if they're just differently staffed now but last time I was getting all the 7.50/8am appointments but this time theres a choice! For which I'm grateful

@thislittlebird woo woo! You have a little embryo on board! I bet it enjoyed Wagamama's. So sorry the other one didn't survive the thaw :o( so gutting that there's really no certainty at any stage of this process. I'm really hoping you get your bfp this time - I have no idea what level progesterone should be but hopefully 3 cyclogest per day should be enough to maintain your levels!!

Love that your work gave you a cost of living bonus. We could all use one of those. We're in Greece, enjoying some sunshine. It is lovely to be away and I can already feel myself unwinding a bit - it's been a pretty shit past 18 months. My oh was given an antibiotic injection in his bum and hasn't stopped going on about it. I think he's forgotten that I have given myself approximately 700000 injections over the last year. But it has made him feel much better so I'm hoping that he'll be well enough to enjoy himself soon!! It sucks to be ill on your holidays!

@beckyCarlos glad you've talked yourself down off the ledge. Stims is so stressful - I'm sure going to see you acupuncturist will do you the world of good!! When's the next scan?

I dont know anything about progesterone levels, but definitely sounds like something you should chat with the Lister about if you need to (I'm sending massive good vibes to 4BB). York in December is LOVELY and that sounds like a really nice way to spend a bit of your bonus 😊 definitely head to Evil Eye for cocktails 🤤 (/mocktails)

Yeah I've calmed down a bit now, objectively I'm 100% (literally and metaphorically) better off than I was last time, and it could easily have gone the other way. Luckily for me, my acupuncturist has changed her Tues clinic to Monday and isnt closing tomorrrow, so I feel like that'll be a good pep talk for me and boost for my follicles (I'm cringing at that middle class statement)

To answer what was asked earlier, no, no confirmation scan was done so it was straight into bladder scan land. The guy who did it was very gentle though, thank you to that man. The last nurse who did it was not gentle on my full bladder.

My progesterone was 109 when I was on letrozole (2 follicles ovulated) and taking 1 or 2 Cyclogest per day. 1 follicle + 3 Cyclogest is somehow 50….ok! 🫠 I might ask the Lister doc if I can do a letrozole + trigger shot natural modified cycle next time we have an embryo.

@99pctpractice where is this very romantic tonsillitis holiday taking place? Once this interview nonsense is done I’m going to book a weekend in York in December I think. Work gave us a 1k cost of living bonus and I feel like that means we can have a small treat despite moving into private ivf world soon. I love the idea of the lion roar. I need to try to remember that for Wednesday! Not even sure how to do it 😂

@Kay00 great news on the interview! Let’s hope you can avoid the clash. Is your boss leaving/moving jobs? I nearly went for an equivalent job to my bosses and ran out of time to apply. Probably a good thing in case I got one and had three in one day 😭

@beckyCarlos these things are always surprising in an annoying way. Try to think of it as double the chances, maybe? It’s hard, I know. 4BB got to experience a chicken katsu curry, kimchee, edamame, fried chilli squid and a tasty fruit and veg juice. Lucky 4BB.

I’m a bit worried about my progesterone and when I ovulated still. They did a test on me today, it was 50 something. I’m on THREE Cyclogest per day and I have supposedly naturally ovulated. The transfer is done now, but I’m not convinced it was day 5. If it doesn’t work I’ll raise these things with the Lister consultant I’ve requested an appointment with in mid-October.

On another note, Waitrose pre-bank holiday yellow tickets were very disappointing. Browsing Chilly’s travel mugs in John Lewis was way more interesting.

Poor OH but good on you keeping the bed 🤣 maybe encourage him to stay in the room so you can take advantage of all those single sunbeds people leave between groups but that are prime territory (bar/pool/shade) currently trying not to descend into a pity party of 'why do I have to do this, its not fair' 🤣 giving myself the usual 'guess what, life isnt fair, and being negative wont bring about results, but eating a shit ton of eggs might' pep talk 🤣

@beckyCarlos Oof the pesky anf vs reality. It's so unpredictable - but there's still the possibility for more follicles to be recruited so hopefully the numbers will rise! I know that feeling of hope / dread so well - i really hope this time is different for you.

@Kay00 congratulations on the interview!! And good luck on starting stims - hope the juggle between interview and egg collection works out ok!!

I'm on holiday atm and my oh has really bad tonsillitis. So we're in separate beds (or rather he's on the sofa because I'm sympathetic, but not that sympathetic 🤣). So romantic!! But still good to get away to the sunshine....

Had my day 9 scan today... my naivete astounds me sometimes, I had 8 follicles on my last AFC so was hoping for 8 foicles (I knew this might be a pipe dream)... I have 4 follicles. 1 at 13mm and three between 7mm and 8mm. Now, this is better than my 2 before (one at 11mm and one between 7mm and 8mm), but I am so conflicted between feeling upset and feeling happy, and also feeling like things are eerily similar to last time. Ivf is a head fuck 🙈

@thislittlebird firstly, well done for bagging two interviews!! The timing sucks, but you totally deserve to move forward with your career.

I start my stims next week and I have also been told I'll be getting an internal interview for a job (my bosses job... Eek!). It'll either be next week or the week after (bang in the middle of my stims). I hope it's not the week after that as I have my egg collection 🙈

I am currently 95% focussed on the interview and 5% on the IVF... Not sure if that's a good thing or not 😅

@thislittlebird congrats on the interviews!!! I'm sure you'll do brilliantly. And your embabies will be so proud of you for doing them, esp given your fear of public speaking. Can you get someone to do a practice run with you for them? just to give you a chance to practice out loud what you'll say. or just say it out loud to yourself if saying it to someone else is too stressful. My oh's top tip is a lion roar beforehand - shoulders back chest out and roar. Sounds ridiculous but weirdly helps to get your head in the right place! You'll do brilliantly. Just remember that they have asked you to an interview because you're qualified and capable of doing the job.

Will your clinic scan you pre-transfer? They should be able to tell then. How did they set the date of the FET? I started progesterone post egg collection and pre-transfer, but that was a fresh transfer so I was pumped so full of hormones i wouldn't have known where any symptoms were coming from, sorry.
