@Tinkerbell098 good news! is that a 5dp transfer?

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 25/09/2022 14:48

Transfer booked for Wednesday! Glad I’ve got a few days to recover from the collection. No chance I could have gone in tomorrow. The bloating is unreal!

thislittlebird · 25/09/2022 12:19

@beckyCarlos not only demand but also we all deserve the mocks!

@thislittlebird everything crossed its not the start, the people demans mocks not cocks! (Hopefully that makes you smile a bit) x

thislittlebird · 25/09/2022 11:50

@Tinkerbell098 thank you, it’s such a nightmare of a process. I’ve had a small amount of brown spotting again today and feel like it’ll just keep going until it turns into a period. I emailed the clinic and they’re chilled unless I’m getting red blood, but obviously I think it’ll turn into red blood hence the anxiety. Sigh. What a stressful day.

Tinkerbell098 · 25/09/2022 07:57

@99pctpractice oh I’m so sorry about your friend. One of our friends who just turned 40 was diagnosed with bowel cancer not too long ago. The best case scenario is 5 years so it’s very upsetting.

@thislittlebird im sorry, really really hope it’s just a tiny bit of spotting and not AF. It’s just really shit to have to go through this over and over again. Lots of love X

thislittlebird · 25/09/2022 00:10

@99pctpractice yeah I totally get that. It’s conflicting. I think she tried to be sensitive which was good. I guess on one hand it gives us hope because it can work, on the other, like you say, you’re still stuck at do not pass GO. And I’m so sorry to hear about your friend, what a horrible day. I had a friend diagnosed in her 50s recently. She’s ok now, but it made me reassess a lot of this. I’m 40 next year, I can’t do this forever. I’m sure it’s a feeling you’re aware of too. Sucks how long it all takes.

I have a feeling I’m out. AF is due Monday, 8dpt as usual, today is 6dpt but it’s literally just hit 7dpt or more like 6.5dpt because it’s after midnight and I now have spotting. Like clockwork, I guess. I went to the loo and there was a small amount of blood tinged cm and now I’m anxious af.

beckyCarlos · 24/09/2022 19:16

Oh @99pctpractice I'm so sorry. I hope your friend is as comfortable as they can be. Sending you lots of love and hugs x x x Haha I havent had any cocks today but we went for lunch and I had a LARGE glass of red 😊 not quite what the doctor ordered but it was gooood.

99pctpractice · 24/09/2022 19:11

@thislittlebird I saw that too. So many feelings of being pleased for her but always that feeling of just not really getting any closer myself. It's been a bit of a sad day today, as I found out that an old friend was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer 😔 I thought jt was bad, but then googled the prognosis and it's really bad. He only found out a week ago....so I just feel a bit heartbroken all around.

So easy to read everything and nothing into the symptoms or absence of them - I found the sore boobs from cyclogest and pals really disconcerting during my last 2ww! Really hoping that you don't need to go private and this is your transfer 🤞🤞 big congratulations on the new job - hopefully the first of a series of good news!!!!

@beckyCarlos hope you're doing ok - and enjoying those cocks before you move to mocks...!

@Tinkerbell098 woot woot! Great that you got 5 eggs and that they fertilised, that's wonderful. Fingers crossed for the next update !!

thislittlebird · 24/09/2022 18:25

@beckyCarlos holding out for the mocks! 😂

I will jot these things down.

I’m getting more anxious now. I just wish my body would give me a SIGN. Can’t face another BFN :/

Emma Barnett announced she was pregnant today, after six rounds of ivf for her second.

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 24/09/2022 17:02

@thislittlebird mocks not cocks 🤣🤣🤣 I'm dead. Thats the best thing I've read all day! Coffee Culture is a cute cafe near the Minster, Fossgate is well worth a walk and ends at an entrance to the walls so you're not just wasting a walk around town, the Gatehouse coffee shop at the end is good too 😍

thislittlebird · 24/09/2022 16:35

@beckyCarlos yeah I thought it looked like a good balance of things you want, and not right in the centre for noise. In Inverness and Canterbury we ended up next to/above pubs and…no, thank you, I’m too old for that. I need sleep. Plus they have on site cats waiting for me to love them!

I need to plan the weekend now, I’ve noted your cocktail recommendations. Praying I need mocks and not cocks. 😂

@tinkerbell098 haha ours is shedding like mad at the minute!

@thislittlebird ooh that looks nice good location too! Museum gardens is really nice on a nice day, and you're right by the Minster and loads of nice pubs and cafes (its a bit odd to say that because York is full of them but still). I was trying to remember the Novotel as an affordable option but a) couldn't remember and b) sounds like its not really anyway 🤣

thislittlebird · 24/09/2022 16:00

@beckyCarlos I went for this onein the end www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g186346-d612304-Reviews-Clementine_s_Town_House_Hotel_BW_Premier_Collection-York_North_Yorkshire_England.html

They were all pricey, even the Novotel etc, so I decided to spend £30 more and stay here.

@beckyCarlos My spare room is also a clothes mountain, glad I’m not alone! oh god, I really want a fur baby. Happy birthday to yours! I’ll be getting a bit of a pay grade/rise whichever job I end up doing so if this is a BFN I think I’ll have to think about it again. My problem is we always have a trip booked that gets in the way, maybe we could aim for a new year furbaby.

All I’ve learned so far is York is expensive af lol. Bloody holiday inn is £200 per night! I’m shopping around because these prices just make me go damn, could have gone abroad lol. I’ll check that one out.

I have no symptoms again today, so I think I’m out tbh, other than my ongoing thrush/bv issues. What fun. Love that for me. Love. It. 🤪

I’m also having ~general~ government rage because whatever they do results in house prices getting more expensive where we want to move to and then they wonder why no one is moving house.

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 13:49

@beckyCarlos happy birthday to your fur baby! Aww I’m sure he loved his breakfast. Lol at your spare room. Ours is currently taken up by our fur baby 😂😂 he loves to sit on the spare bed and guard at night (the bed is against the front window). He sheds like crazy so don’t think anyone would want to sleep there.

@thislittlebird yey for York! It’s great to have something to look forward to.

beckyCarlos · 24/09/2022 13:02

@thislittlebird yes I think about 8dpt, I just got so freaked out about the cramps I was like a crazy person, I HAD to know. I've never stayed in York (live too close) but friends have stayed in the Guy Fawkes which is nice (and I dont think too expensive).

@kay00 woof thats a big number! Your poor ovaries! Glad the clinic are being sensible and responsive, fingers crossed it goes well 😊 poor Margaret, how is she this morning? Im in awe of your spare room being ready for visitors, my spare bed is under what looks like all of our clothes.

@tinkerbell098 thats amazing! What a relief. You can relax and enjoy your weekend a bit more now 😊

My fur baby is 5 today, not quite sure where that time has gone (thanks covid and fertility) but I'm just off to the pet shop to get him lots of treats and a new toy or two 😍 he had scrambled egg for breakfast, and we're going on a long wood walk tomorrow (weather isnt looking great today and he doesnt like to get wet away from the house, at home he'll lie outside in a downpour lol)

thislittlebird · 24/09/2022 12:01

@Tinkerbell098 great news!

@Kay00 that's good that they're reducing stims. What has your protocol been these two times? I was only on 150 goal f and then fyremadel and it worked well enough to get 3 embryos. But I do wonder what the outcome will be if a private clinic boosts the doses.

Oh dear, poor Margaret......let's hope she feels better fast Confused

I've booked our York trains now! Just need to see how much I'm willing to spend on a hotel, probably not tons with the private ivf starting.

OP posts:
Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 11:58

@Kay00 hope the new dose would work well. Good luck with stimming! Do you do the injections yourself?

update from me- all 5 collected have been fertilised! I was in tears as was so anxious this morning waiting for the call. Fingers crossed they make it all the way!

Kay00 · 24/09/2022 00:34

Just reading through the messages and Wow, what a roller coaster of a few days ladies!

Firstly, I'm super sorry you had no eggs retrieved @beckyCarlos 😞. You are being so incredibly brave xx I love that you are positively looking forward to your next steps xx

@Tinkerbell098 5 is excellent, fingers crossed the you get a decent number fertilised tomorrow too 🤞

@thislittlebird congrats on the job!! Exciting!! A holiday in York sounds lovely. I've never been but heard great things.

I had my baseline scan today. 16 follicles on one side and 17 on the other. It's a lot (not a good thing). So we're reducing my stims dose from day 4 to try and reduce the number of eggs (and hopefully increase the quality). I start my injections tomorrow evening.

In other news, my elderly neighbour Margaret had a panic attack tonight and was scared someone was in her house, so now she's sleeping in my spare room... I hope it doesn't become a regular thing 😬

thislittlebird · 23/09/2022 23:24

@beckyCarlos oh yeah that is the opposite. Mine are a breeze, they never have to try twice or anything, in goes the needle and out comes the blood and keeps on coming 😂. The last two times I’ve been put out it’s ended in blood running everywhere post cannula removal, and I usually bleed a bit after a blood test too.

So sounds like you were 8dpt? That’s my mountain, I can’t get past the bugger because my literal phase is 13 days. It’ll be Monday as I say, so I know I have a stressful few days ahead. Will probably get past it this time because of the extra progesterone 🤪

I think I’m going to book a hotel in York tomorrow for early December, found the train tickets today and will book soon. Recommendations welcome! Hotels aren’t cheap, that’s for sure. I have a Yorkshire village for a surname so I’d really like to go to that village but this is not that trip lol. Will have to do a rural one another time and have a gander.

OP posts:
beckyCarlos · 23/09/2022 23:15

@thislittlebird I'm the opposite 🤣 my veins 'roll', I'm hard to stick, and I once watched blood drip, literally drip, out, barely filling the piddly vial they were using. I get awful boob pain without fail every cycle...apart from my positive. Like you sat, no rhyme or reason! I had my transfer on a Saturday and I think I tested the following Sunday because I had period like cramps (and somehow only then did I realise that that would be when my period was due, I assumed it'd be due on OTD, this was very naive...) and I got overwhelmed with this feeling that I needed to know if the cramps were a period and I should just cry, or if they were anything else.

thislittlebird · 23/09/2022 22:54

@Tinkerbell098 oh god, they didn’t take the sample off us either and it stressed me out. I was carrying it in my bra and wrapped in a sock! Did they give you an update on his sample? was this nhs? Did you get the tea and biscuits? I know if you’re private you might get more food!

5 is good news, keep us posted.

I feel lucky to have had a good/east EC experience. It was all ok but I did stress to them that I’m a very anxious patient and needed to be fully unaware of what they were doing. I’m just a bleeder. Whenever they remove the cannula or a needle from drawing blood I bleed like a bugger, without fail it goes everywhere after cannulas are removed. Luckily I wore black to EC.

Test day is 29th but I’ve never made it that far before tbh. Usually I get to 8dp5dt and I’m out, either a migraine or my period starts. So that’s Monday for me, bit of a stressful milestone.

@beckyCarlos I think i mainly get sore boobs on Cyclogest, whereas normally I don’t and obviously each time I’ve had sore boobs but a BFN. No sore boobs this time, and I’m on 3 Cyclogest per day. There’s no rhyme or reason to any of this!!!!

What dpt was your first (unofficial) test? Obviously I hate testing and avoid it like the plague. I started Cyclogest last Wednesday I think, so a few days before transfer. I’ve decided it must be job anxiety, I felt a bit better after I did an Honest Guys meditation and had a nap at lunch, and felt mostly ok again after dinner tonight.

Crying in the Co-op seems like a perfectly normal one to me, nothing to see here! Standard infertility procedure!

@beckyCarlos thanks! Yes it worked the very next morning and I only used a cheapie. Faint, but it was an obvious clear line.
