@thislittlebird yes my clinic also said that it's completely normal to have some bleeding due to pessaries. Stay positive. I would definitely complain as you've tried to explain things over and over to the clinic and they're only adding more stress to you. PALS have been really good for me before when I was having massive delays with the clinic. Worth a try.

thislittlebird · 04/10/2022 15:33

@beckyCarlos i read yesterday hormonal bleeding is more common after ivf so that’s good to know.

@Tinkerbell098 I did consider contacting PALS. It’s just so frustrating they can’t make things happen without a complete furore first of all.

Oh god now the funding team have called me and I’ve absolutely lost it on the phone to them. That went well 🙃. This funding woman is going to look into it after I shouted and cried in her direction for 20 mins. I said can’t I just pay for the freeze and thaw of the embryo and she said that’s £2000. Erm yes, but that’s included in my funding letter and apparently having a panic attack isn’t enough of an issue for my fresh funding to transfer to my frozen and for my embryo freeze to qualify as the funding kind. Honestly these conversations are ridiculous. Are you really telling me you’re going to perform a gynaecological procedure on a person having a panic attack? Seriously????

@thislittlebird what the actual... im so sorry this is so stressful for you. Hopefully the spotting is just the embryo getting really burrowed in.

@tinkerbell098 that sucks, we'd have been in that position if our cycle had worked and I was quite stressed about it. We're always here for you x

Tinkerbell098 · 04/10/2022 14:34

@thislittlebird oh no! That sounds soooo stressful! So so sorry you're going through this. Could you write a massive complaint to PALS or something? Why have they made it so complicated, just so annoying! Hope you manage to get the prescription soon.

thislittlebird · 04/10/2022 14:23

I made it super long. I’m very annoyed with my clinic at this stage, they’re a mess.

thislittlebird · 04/10/2022 14:23

@Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed 🤞

You can chat with us if you need to while he’s away.

Ugh, long story short: no. Without making this super long, basically they seem to think I’m private because I didn’t have exactly what is on the funding letter. After various emails with finance a finance woman copies the consultant in. I then have his email and copy him back in on my response saying x is what I had, why am I paying for y? Ok cool, he replies saying come in and he’ll do an nhs prescription. Rightio. Then yesterday got stressful and I was bleeding (seems better right now) and I took myself to urgent care (entirely pointless exercise, they referred me elsewhere). So I was stressed at this point. I then went to guys after to see him about the prescription. In the 15 mins I’m with him he agrees I just need to pay for the supplement not the whole cycle. Great. Then he writes them an email and says something about consultant led care uplift. I was honestly just baffled, I’d had a shit day, nothing was resolved and I didn’t have consultant led care, I didn’t speak to him on the phone only email. I said I didn’t have his number and he said ok blah blah (paraphrasing) and he gave me the prescription and I left. I got to the pharmacy, it was not an nhs prescription and might be an nhs prescription if dispensed at Guys. It was entirely unclear. So I spent all day going to two hospitals and achieved nothing. Dh is going back there today for my prescription and I sent a long email to the finance people at 5am saying I do not want them to contact me until they understand I’m an nhs patient. I will not be paying for “consultant led care”, I’ve barely had any care, and I will not be paying for a full FET cycle. I was so upset and annoyed and maybe I should just suck it up but this is all their admin error, it’s not my fault they can’t work out what I’ve had.

@99pctpractice @thislittlebird thanks for checking. I'm alright. Just really really nervous about Friday. OH left abroad today for his cousin's wedding so I will be alone for OTD. I have tried some ICs and seeing VVVVVV faint lines, but unsure if this is still the trigger lingering around.

@thislittlebird have you managed to clear your invoice with the clinic? would they arrange a scan for you or would you go private for it? Hope everything's well. Have you accepted the job offer and which one did you go for?

thislittlebird · 04/10/2022 13:34

@Tinkerbell098 hope you’re coping ok, not long to go!

99pctpractice · 03/10/2022 18:45

@Kay00 oh no! Sounds like you had a lot going on so maybe it wasn't the right time for you. Sounds like a plan to take a bit of time out and try again in Dec. Hope your job stuff is all going ok in the meantime (did you also have an interview?!)

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl sounds like you have had a bumpy ride! Fingers crossed everything stays in the right place for you...

@Tinkerbell098 hope you're surviving the tww and the symptom spotting isn't driving you too nutty!!!

Kay00 · 02/10/2022 18:27

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl Congrats my lovely ☺️ I'm glad to hear it's in the right place 🙌 let's hope the good news continues xxx

Thanks ladies.

Tinkerbell098 · 02/10/2022 15:31

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl tentative congrats to you. Fingers crossed for you X

beckyCarlos · 02/10/2022 14:17

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl that is amazing news! Everything crossed for you! Hope your anxiety is ok x

thislittlebird · 02/10/2022 12:26

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl I can imagine! It’s a very strange process all this.

OP posts:
IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 02/10/2022 12:20

@thislittlebird thank you, and tentative congrats to you too. Sorry, I really didn't mean to appear back here just to say "so actually..." It's been a weird few weeks!

thislittlebird · 02/10/2022 12:14

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl oh wow, that’s a good development at least, but yes, unnerving. Tentative congrats! How strange it all happened on norethisterone when you weren’t expecting it.

OP posts:
IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 02/10/2022 12:03

@thislittlebird I'm in a bit of an odd place as I'm actually ~7 weeks pregnant. I was getting NHS medication cycles, trying to get some kind of ovulation going, which was repeatedly failing through all the doses... then inexplicably conceived whilst on norethisterone trying to end a failed cycle 🤔. Took the 10 days worth and period never came. Had a scan at 4-5 weeks due to the ectopic risk that comes with norethisterone, which showed it's in the correct location and have another in a week to see if this has actually gotten off the ground.

Given its taken 2 years to fall pregnant again, and the last one ended in an 11 week loss, I am of course incredibly anxious. But all I can do is wait and see!

Tinkerbell098 · 02/10/2022 10:42

@Kay00 oh no!! Hope you’re ok? That’s a good plan to take some time off ivf world and focus on yourself. We are here if you want to chat X

thislittlebird · 02/10/2022 10:13

@99pctpractice yeah it's totally different. If it happens naturally again I'd say just join the ivf threads, you've been through the wringer with IVF.

On the egg donor bank site, do you get people who are donating their leftover IVF eggs?

@Tinkerbell098 super soon! The second half of the (sort of ) tww is not much fun!

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl thanks, it's hard to relax. What's happening for you now?

@Kay00 Thanks! It's a lot to take in at once. I'm going to accept an offer on Monday, I guess. Which will mean going into the office a lot more, but at least it's a bit more money. But not a lot more.

Oh no, what happened? Did you drop them too low? I know you've had a lot going on. That sounds like a good pre-IVF plan, get your head in the right place.

Kay00 · 01/10/2022 23:10

Oh wow!!! Congratulations @thislittlebird 😍 I'm so very pleased for you!! Amazing news 😁 congrats on the job offers too 🙌

@99pctpractice amazing!! I love that you have bought your eggs. What an exciting step to have made ☺️

Just an FYI for you all, but my IVF cycle has been cancelled. I monumentally fucked up my Stims dosage and my ovaries weren't responding 😖

It's 100% my own fault. I've had too much on and my mind clearly wasn't in the right place to be focusing on IVF, hence my silly error.

I need to call back with my next CD1 and start over. So my egg collection is now likely to be in December. I'm going to use these months to get my life back on track and to get myself physically and mentally into the best place to start a round of IVF.

thislittlebird · 01/10/2022 19:20

Thanks @dogmam, how are you getting on? Are you prepping for your next round? I know you were seeing an andrologist.

Wow @thislittlebird amazing news! So happy for you xx

beckyCarlos · 01/10/2022 16:14

I hope so @99pctpractice! 🤞 on their website they claim to have one of the leading egg banks i europe and you can search it online (I assume after the £500 fee - although this hasnt been mentioned to us yet...)

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 01/10/2022 16:12

That's a good FRER line @thislittlebird 😊

99pctpractice · 01/10/2022 15:53

@beckyCarlos they are twinned with the London women's clinic who I think have clinics all over. That would be easier for you to go with care if you're already with them. Maybe they'll give you a bit more info about their donor list if you're already with them?!?
