...did you find it as easy for subsequent conceptions?

We are 3.5 years older now and will be ttc soon. First pregnancy, fell pregnant 1st month and had a very straightforward pregnancy. Very thankful. Worried it might not be as easy this time!

First time unplanned
Second conceived within two months
Third secondary infertility - over three years

GrimDamnFanjo · 18/08/2022 01:12

Nope. I ended up with secondary infertility and it took 8 years.

ozymandiusking · 18/08/2022 01:10

The first time, unplanned. The second time planned, conceived straight away.
The third time, unplanned conceived even with an iud just as the second child was 1 year old. Mr Ozy had a vasectomy!

SlipperyLizard · 18/08/2022 01:07

I got pregnant second month of trying with DD1, first month of trying with DD2, 2 years later. I was 31 & 33.

mishmased · 18/08/2022 00:58

Should add second pregnancy was 21 months after first.

mishmased · 18/08/2022 00:57

1st pregnancy 1st month
2nd pregnancy about to start trying but already pregnant.
3rd pregnancy (7 years after 1st) 1st month mc @ 6 weeks
4th pregnancy (2nd month post mc) 1st month.
Good luck op.x

SouperNoodle · 18/08/2022 00:35

First try resulted in DD1.
When DD1 was 8 months old, we were actively trying to avoid pregnancy and somehow ended up with DD2 (so glad we did as she's just amazing)

Disneyblueeyes · 18/08/2022 00:05

One of the reasons I'm put off having a second. We conceived first try, everything ran smoothly.
Feel like 2nd surely can't be as perfect!

HinchcliffeandMurgatroyd · 17/08/2022 23:57

Yes, but not the third.

allthebikes · 17/08/2022 23:55

Nope. 1 ectopic pregnancy and 4 miscarriages when trying for our 2nd. We got there in the end though but it was a really crap few years. It was straight away with our first.

Goodnewsday · 17/08/2022 23:52

I feel the same as you, about to come off my pill to try for our second but the first literally couldn’t have gone any better. Got pregnant quickly, a bit sick for a few weeks but nothing major, no real pain in pregnancy at all, never had any bleeding or any scares, healthy baby, a baby that sleeps a lot too! Now having such awful negative thoughts about how I can’t be that lucky a second time. I’m sure plenty of people are though! I was anxious the whole way through last time and felt like I didn’t properly take a deep breath until I saw him at the end of it all so I slightly don’t want to step back into that again 😩

Downandout01 · 17/08/2022 21:12

1st child- 1st time trying
2nd pregnancy- 4 months trying but ended as MMC
2nd child- 1st time trying after MMC

bunnypenny · 17/08/2022 21:10

1 child - first month of trying
2 child - first month of trying
3 child - surprise pregnancy

no tracking, each just happened (and I’m older too, so it was a big surprise)

DelurkingAJ · 17/08/2022 21:07

DS1 - month 1
DS2 - month 7

Smooth pregnancies both times. Very lucky all round.

bez91 · 17/08/2022 21:04

1st - fell first month came off contraception
2nd - tried for 2 years and had 3 miscarriages, DS is now 3 months. Think someone else said above, seem to fall easily but sustaining a pregnancy was the difficulty and falling ok first time certainly doesn't mean the same will happen again

palmerita · 17/08/2022 21:00

Pregnant first time, both times. Lots of tracking cycles, taking taking opks involved

Barleysugar86 · 17/08/2022 20:21

No. First baby we got on first month of trying (both 31), second baby took 11 months (both 35). But we had a lot more stress when trying for baby number two (my work situation was quite toxic), which I do think might have contributed.

Dalaidramailama · 17/08/2022 20:20

Ive had 3 all conceived first month. My third 9 days after implant removal.

My sisters all conceived in the 1st month and our mum went through meno at the age of 62.

TheBitterBoy · 17/08/2022 20:19

I will add it's been a long time since we gave up on having another DC, DS is 15.

bakewellbride · 17/08/2022 20:19

We were incredibly lucky in that it was first try each time with both our children (4 year old and a baby).

However the first trimester with my second was quite tough mentally. I was quite on edge about miscarrying or something going wrong because it felt 'too good to be true' so even if you do conceive quickly again it's not always smooth sailing. Once I had the 12 week scan I truly relaxed into the pregnancy though and it was great.

Oblomov22 · 17/08/2022 20:17

Yes. Pregnant almost immediately, miscarriage, pregnant again almost immediately.

TheBitterBoy · 17/08/2022 20:16

Not for me sadly. Conceived DS within two months of trying at age 34, never been pregnant again, despite IVF.

BuffaloCauliflower · 17/08/2022 20:16

1st pregnancy - 1st cycle, but early loss
2nd pregnancy/1st child - 3rd cycle
3rd pregnancy (current) - 1st cycle, literally one try

Jules912 · 17/08/2022 20:15

Yep, first first month of trying. Second we were more not not trying so only dtd once.

Hdocheub820 · 17/08/2022 20:13

Yes both first month trying.
