Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

Congrats @Hannargh amazing news!! So pleased for you!
@ttcfirstbaby90 i used the digital and then once I got a flashing or solid smiley I’d use the cheap ones to really pin point when ovulation is coming. The digital ones you can only use once a day, only use morning urine, and it should go circle, flashing, solid. It can be one per day, or you can have a a few days of circle, few days of flashing. Some people never get a solid. Once you get solid it’ll stay that way so no point testing anymore. It just looks for an increase in hormone so you can go from circle to flashing as it finds an increase in hormone, then another increase would go to solid. If you have a flashing, it won’t go back to circle. Your partner could pee on it and it would still be flashing! As you say annoying you can’t buy more refill tests. I only start testing with the digital 4 days before I think I’ll ovulate, so I can get a few cycles from them.

ttcfirstbaby90 · 17/09/2022 12:58

@Hannargh ooh that's good to know. It's a clearblue advanced one yeah. I figured it would be easier to read than the strips. Although disappointed you cant buy refills for them. It was just a ring yesterday my first day doing it and then a flashing smiley this morning which caught me completely by surprise. I did look at the blue lines and it was significantly darker than yesterdays. Hopefully it does what yours did then and I won't be as alarmed if it goes back to negative.

@eleveneleven11 I may give strips a go next time round as I wouldn't want to be spending almost £40 for one of these kits every other month.

I'm so happy for you both. Keep us all updated on progress and symptoms. I have a feeling I won't get many symptoms if my mum is anything to go by. She didn't have sickness or anything with all 3 of us. She said the only way she knew she was pregnant was that she missed af.

@Hannargh @eleveneleven11 @Shleepymummy

This is for sure a lucky thread!! Congrats ladies 😍 xxx

eleveneleven11 · 17/09/2022 11:32

@Hannargh i know i keep staring at the tests like whhaaatttt!
yes i told DH straight away as he knew i was testing this morning. he had a little happy cry 🥰 have you told yours? x

Hannargh · 17/09/2022 11:10

@eleveneleven11 I've barely been feeling anything and had to convince myself it was actually a positive test 🙃 and looking back there were maybe a few things but nothing obvious. Glad to know I'm not the only one without heavy symptoms, though! Have your told your DH yet?

eleveneleven11 · 17/09/2022 10:04

@ttcfirstbaby90 i'd recommend using the strip tests if you can get hold of any, i've heard the digital ones can be confusing? i've never used the digital ones though so not sure! x

eleveneleven11 · 17/09/2022 10:03

@Hannargh what a wonderful morning - congratulations!! this is such lovely news. were you surprised?! have you been feeling any symptoms?

i've had a few things that made me wonder this last few weeks but nothing obvious. my sense of smell has been heightened - my dog has this raccoon toy that she is obbbbbsessed with she takes it everywhere and if i'm in the same room as it it's all i can smell but DH doesn't notice.
i've also been feeling a bit dizzy and head spinny. almost like a hangover. i'm feeling a bit nauseous this morning. x

Hannargh · 17/09/2022 09:26

@ttcfirstbaby90 are you using sticks or one of the CB ones?
If it's high already you may ovulate sooner than 5 days - for me peak comes a day or so after a high, but the other month I had a high that dropped away and then came back and peaked later (which suggested the first follicle that released didn't have an egg so more hormone was needed for the next follicle - still ended up with the same ovulation day as usual though).

I, and a few of the ladies here, have used them for a few months, so shout if you have any questions or want to share any pics!

ttcfirstbaby90 · 17/09/2022 09:26

Also if I had gone by the instructions and started on CD15 I may have missed it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

ttcfirstbaby90 · 17/09/2022 09:09

Yay. We have 3 congratulations @eleveneleven11 and @Hannargh it's amazing to see!

So day 2 of doing OPK first time so this may seem like a dumb question. I'm CD11 of 35/36 and it's showing high fertility already. So peak should be in 5ish days I imagine. Like was not expecting that this morning. My app says ovulation is due in 10 days.

Also smiled when I saw the smile like yay. But then I was like oh yeah don't get too excited it's not a baby yet. 😂😂😂

I must have a super long LP which I'm slightly concerned about.

Hannargh · 17/09/2022 08:30

Here's this morning's test. Not super strong on camera but it's there 😬🤞

Ahh congratulations @eleveneleven11 ! Such good news! (Although sorry about your 30th! Good luck hiding the not drinking - but for such a good reason!)

Turns out the reason AF didn't arrive is because I got my bfp last night (at 7:30pm after a 1 hour hold, which was the only chance I had to test yesterday).
I've just tested this morning again (both times on a 10mIU cheapie stick) and it doesn't look quite as strong? But the line is still there, so we shall see where it goes...

I kept seeing that shadowy line on the other tests from 11DPO but it was super faint and not obviously a line so was walking around all week convinced nothing was happening. And yesterday had a sudden moment where I realised that maybe all the shadowy lines could be there for a reason 😅

How are you feeling @eleveneleven11 and @Shleepymummy ? Any symptoms?

When is everyone else due AF/due to test? @JoanHants @ttcfirstbaby90

eleveneleven11 · 17/09/2022 07:48

@Shleepymummy thanks so much! i'm so over the moon - i know it's early but i'm going to let myself be excited. i have been feeling a little nauseous the past few days and burping a lot lol. i think most of the sickness this morning is down to nerves and excitement.
the only issue is i have my 30th birthday night out tonight with all my friends and my sisters and i've got to get through it without secretly not drinking 🤣

how are you doing today? has the sickness eased off? x

Shleepymummy · 17/09/2022 07:40

Congratulations 😘 @eleveneleven11 ! I can see a line on the FRER but the digital is a nice confirmation! How are you feeling?! x

eleveneleven11 · 17/09/2022 07:27

ok i did a digital straight after and we can't argue with this 😭❤️

Shleepymummy · 17/09/2022 06:46

Thanks @Nypie this is number 2.
Got fingers crossed for you @eleveneleven11, hope AF stays away

Nypie · 17/09/2022 00:11

@Hannargh so sorry you feel AFs arriving but also amazing to hear the luteal has extended so soon. You're not out til she arrives!

@Shleepymummy there is no denying that line! Congratulations 🥳🥳 is this number 2 or am I thinking of someone else?

@ttcfirstbaby90 I've been reading a book that says its normal up to year for those who don't know their cycle but trackers like us who are having sex on the right dates should kick up a fuss after 6 months which I will definitely be doing . It can be so tough but were in it together and we dont have to suffer in silence and that's the nice thing. But I know what you mean anout wanting it for so long, I was sure I'd have about 3 by now 😂😂 I dont even have an amazing carreer as an excuse! Ahh I'm such a drinker its gonna be a struggle and I know so many people who were drunk out their heads before getting their positives but if it means a baby I'll join you in the boring club 30 ;)

Shleepymummy · 16/09/2022 16:24

Thanks all. Still very early so I’m not thinking about it too much. Will feel a bit more real in a few weeks!
This was my 4th cycle of trying so keep at it! It’s actually super rare I think to get it first go.

Hannargh · 16/09/2022 08:35

@Shleepymummy that's undeniable!!! Congratulations!!!

xttcbabyno1x · 16/09/2022 08:17

@Shleepymummy definitely positive 🎉 congratulations xxxx

ttcfirstbaby90 · 16/09/2022 08:17

@Shleepymummy that's amazing congratulations 🥳 yay we have 1

@Nypie I'm on cycle 3 now like you. I'm the same I automatically assume it's something wrong with me rather than my oh. It's very upsetting but 20% chance a cycle is so low really I keep telling myself to stay positive and not worry yet but if I get past 6 cycles I know I'm going to struggle emotionally because I've wanted this for so long. Fertile weeks looking like this time next week when I'm away on a camping holiday so we'll see what happens. I don't think I'm gonna drink at all this cycle either. Me and OH don't drink much anyway and you think people get pregnant drunk all the time hah. But I'd rather not risk it can't remember last time I was drunk to be honest. 😂 I'm such a boring 31 year old.

eleveneleven11 · 16/09/2022 07:32

@Shleepymummy wow that's definitely a positive to me! no question. congratulations!! 🤩 sucks that you're having a hard time with nausea but at least you know now that it's for a good cause lol

Shleepymummy · 16/09/2022 07:27

Morning all. I wasn’t going to test and just wait for period but my nausea has just been getting worse so decided to test to rule stuff out. What do we think? This is a cheap supermarket test.
I think positive?!

Hi everyone! Pretty busy at work so taking my mind off things at the moment. And by things, I mean nothing! Period 2 days late, didn't have time to test this morning, but nothing notable on Wednesday. May test again tomorrow but I may just wait it out as I think AF must be coming soon - my temp has started dipping so I guess I'm having a longer LP this time (which is what I'd wanted anyway, so obv I'm disappointed but not too worried about things).

I'm sure I'll be following you soon @Nypie and @SLK1990 - sorry AF arrived for you both but onwards and upwards!

Fingers crossed for you @JoanHants - hope this is your time!!

Keep going @Shleepymummy @eleveneleven11 @ttcfirstbaby90 - looking forward to seeing your bfps! 😊
