TWW starting 31.07.22 - Company Needed

Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

@Nypie 🤣🤣🤣 I can't help myself lol. I can't get over how worried I am about being upset with it being a boy. It's completely irrational. Please tell me other people have preferences and this weird fear 😪 xxx

@Nypie of course I will love whatever we have lol. But I think I'm driving myself crazy looking at my 12 week scans... everyone I've spoken to has said girl lean. I'm now zooming in to what look like a hamburger haha. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed 🤣🤣

Ah I feel you @TheCakeIsALie18 I would love a little girl I hope you get one but you'll think its the best thing since slice bread when it arrives eirher way.

Sounds like you're keeping busy @Hannargh and not long to wait! Hope the scan goes well.

Aw bless you @Shleepymummy hope it settles soon! I'm alright thanks good days and not so good days. I don't really have a testing plan for once 😂 I'm monitoring my lh for some reason so that might just stop me from peeing on anything else.

@Shleepymummy oooh noooo I'm sorry you're struggling with morning sickness. Try ginger if you can stomach it. Ginger nut biscuits are supposed to work wonders! Have you had an early scan at all or are you waiting for your 12 week? Xxx

@eleveneleven11 congrats on your tests! Must be a nice relief to see all those strong lines! As for twins…well getting 2 done at once saves you having to go through it all again I guess?!? Let us know when you know! Did you say you are having an early scan? Think you did?

@Hannargh bet you’re excited for your scan, nearly there!! Sore nips are never fun, but if otherwise all ok that’s great news! Enjoy it!

I have horrific morning sickness, got some medication but it doesn’t do much I don’t think. Lots of shooting pains in my boobs, mainly left side so probs guna be lop sided 🤣. All in all not loving these first 10 weeks so far but pushing through!

how you doing @Nypie? Are you going to test before Af or wait it out?

@Hannargh urghhhh putting me to shame. We have so much stuff to do in the house and haven't started yet lol. Need to spend several weekends getting our arses in gear haha. I'm glad it's going well for you though! Welcome also to the no nasty symptoms club haha. I worried early on that things weren't right because I didn't have anything but eventually just accepted it. My mum and grandma didn't suffer either but my mums sister did lol. Xxx

Hey everyone! Thanks for asking @Nypie I'm doing well. Been busy getting some house stuff sorted so haven't been on here for a while (a baby is good motivation for getting things done!)
Coming up to 11 weeks now and got my 12 week scan on 8th Nov. So not long to go now. Things are still pretty mild - sore nipples and reduced appetite, but otherwise feeling good, which still makes me worried but what can you do except wait it out? My sister in law had bad nausea in the first trimester and is now in the third trimester with bad nausea again, so I definitely can't complain!

That's some wonderful line progression @eleveneleven11 and so strong too. Hopefully this is the one! And like @TheCakeIsALie18 says, twins??

Hope you get your girl @TheCakeIsALie18 but I'm sure you'll be excited for the outcome either way xx

Thanks! Yeah I've been taking progress pics. I'm definitely growing. My boobs are two sizes up and it's obvious I'm not used to their size... was training in the gym this morning and was doing a barbe hang pull (think an upright row if you're not familiar) and as I lifted the barbell it would normally have just lifted over my boobs... nope I smashed it straight through my nipples... owwwwieeeee!!! Xxx

@Nypie hang in there. Those days will tick by! I'm hoping so bad to have a little girl. I've send all my scans to various pros that work with the different gender prediction theories lol and they've all said girl... so I have everything crossed. I can't wait for Saturday but shit I'm nervous! I'm worried I will cry if it is a boy lol. Xxx

🙈! i'm obviously grateful for whatever happens but i'd be lying if i said i wouldn't be relieved if there was just one in there! we shall see. we will be having an 8 week scan so will of course keep you posted.

fab that you've felt normal! hope it continues for you 🥰 getting a bump will be so exciting. have you been taking any progress pics? x

@eleveneleven11 eeeeeek I'd almost put money on you having twins with those lines so early haha. Are you going for an early private scan?

To be fair I felt pretty normal all the way through so far haha. The only thing is growing boobs which hurt like hell and now I just look like I've eaten a massive meal lol. Sooooo puffy and bloated. Shouldn't be long now before bump starts looking like a bump haha. I used to wear 36B I'm now sitting in a 36-38D. Won't be long till that fills out though... xxx

ahhh the pregnancy boobs - definitely something i'm looking forward to as i've got nothing going on! haha. are you feeling pretty normal now that you're into the second trimester? x

All good here thank you. Counting down the days now until our gender scan next Saturday. Boobs super sore... they've gone up 2 Cup sizes already 😲🙃 xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 @Nypie @Shleepymummy thanks ladies! what is it about looking at those 2 lines that's so addictive?! i carried yesterday's frer test around the house with me yesterday and just kept looking at it hahahaha

yes we've decided we're going to do both scans. good point @Shleepymummy that they will both be a bit different. how are you getting on with your pregnancy by the way?! xx

Congratulations @eleveneleven11! Amazing news! Yes go for a private scan if that helps your anxiety but defo still go to NHS one offered at 8 weeks too! No harm in having 2 and the NHS one will provide more medical information (if needed) compared to a private one which will be sonographer lead. I’m sure everything will be right as rain. So pleased for you, that positive test is always so nice to see x

Yeah, defo go for the private one. We have loved every one of ours. They're just so friendly. At our 12 week NHS one the sonographer was really rude like she didn't want to be there and we asked her what they do about gender scans. She just replied with we don't participate in gender scans. If we see it we will tell you if we don't, we won't. And that was it.... soooo rude xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 i think you've convinced me to just opt for the private 8 week and skip the NHS one. maybe both lol but definitely the private one.

here are my tests today. took a few today as i surprised my husband with the digital. first pic is todays tests, the next is my 48 hr frer progression and the last is my daily strip test progression! xx

@eleveneleven11 so some places do transvaginal scans as early as 6 weeks. We booked our transabdominal scan for 8 weeks but measured in at 6+4 for the first one. But they were so lovely and explained all the possible outcomes of measuring early to us. Joe are your test lines looking??

@Nypie ooh I'm glad you're getting a strong opk now. I hope this is your month! Get on with TTC. Keeping my fingers crossed for youuuu!! Xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 thanks so much for the ear or the eyes! Yesterday the hcg line was lighter and today lighter still and lh was the darkest I've ever seen today and finally getting pains, cd17 is pretty late for me but thankful it seems to be happening. Crazy journey.

when did you have your first private scan? because we miscarried previously, my local NHS early pregnancy assessment unit will do a scan for us at 8 weeks. but yes i've heard the same, that the private scans are much more of a lovely experience so i'm definitely up for booking a few of those also!

that's soooo cute that you got freebies! ❤️ who doesn't love a freebie. especially when there's 101 things to buy to prepare for parenthood 🤣 xx
