Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

@eleveneleven11 I know, it's been quiet here so I thought I'd give everyone a little poke haha.

Wow 10 weeks already?!?!?! Where does time go?! I'm glad everything is good with you though. I didn't have any symptoms either, other than a 3pm nap every day lol. I still don't feel pregnant haha waiting patiently for baby to start kicking so I can actually feel pregnant and not just like I've eaten all the pies 🤣🤣 I've had butterflies for the last month or so though, so I don't think it will be much longer!

Aww I'm glad you got to see little ones heartbeat. I hope the NHS scan was alright for you. Our 12 week one was awful which was why we went for the private one for our gender scan. Thankfully though, our 20 week scan sonographer was absolutely lovely. She talked us through what she was looking at and even showed us his little feet and hands ❤️ xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 hello! im glad you've posted, i miss this thread being active. i've dabbled in a few other threads since but none have been quite as lovely as this one!

i am all good thank you. 10 weeks today and feeling good. i get headaches and my energy levels are pretty low but in the grand scheme of things i really can't complain about any pregnancy symptoms compared to what many others go through. i had an NHS scan a few weeks ago and everything is fine. thankfully there was just one heartbeat in there, so no twins! i have a private scan next monday (just for the experience) and then my 12 week scan is booked for 22nd december.

glad to hear everything is cooking nicely with you! the time really has flown. how are you feeling about birth? i've already got the fear!!!

@pugsB hello! excited to hear that you're in the TWW. maybe not a bad thing that you're feeling a bit meh about this cycle. means you can maybe try and busy yourself and try not to think about it too much as the time will definitely go quicker that way! plus, it only takes one bd to make a bub so my fingers are crossed for you. hope you have a speedy recovery x

TheCakeIsALie18 · 06/12/2022 14:03

@pugsB I've got everything crossed for you ❤️ sorry you're not feeling well 😔

It's been quiet on here for a little while now. I'd like to keep up with people's journeys.

I'm nearly 21 weeks. Had our 20 weeks scan yesterday and everything was fine. Baby boy growing nicely ❤️ xxx

Hi @TheCakeIsALie18 , how are you doing? It definitely been a while. Took a bit of a break from this forum for a while as I wasn't actively ttc. This is my second cycle trying (paused ttc-ing last couple of months after starting in early september). Just entered TWW, I am 3 dpo today. Told myself I am not going to test until atleast 12 dpo so a loooong way to go still for me. I kinda feel meh about this cycle since we didn't bd as much as I would have liked--hubby got sick and now I am sick so lets see how it goes 🤞🏼.

How is everyone else doing?

TheCakeIsALie18 · 04/12/2022 21:26

Happy December everyone!!

How are you pregnant ladies doing?
How are you TWW ladies doing?
How are you TTC ladies doing?

It's been too long. Tell me everything ❤️❤️💙💙 xxx

@eleveneleven11 lol my hubby would take vitamins for a couple days and then give up so I didn't bother asking haha. But yep, I think they're a bit precious over their swimmers lol.

Haha thanks. We only know one Charlie and he is married with a son of his own 🤣 he's going to be a strong little bugger with all the things thay we do and that we will get him into young lol. I can't wait to see what else he chooses to do that has nothing to do with us lol xxx

@ttcfirstbaby90 really feeling for you and sending you loads of good vibes. we all understand exactly how heartbreaking and difficult it is waiting each month and the disappointment of being sure AF is on her way. and I found it so so irritating when people would just say 'it'll happen when it happens'. that was especially painful to hear post-mc...

all I can do is reassure you that 5 cycles is still early days although I know it doesn't feel like it when you're in the thick of it! this is my 5th cycle and it's been successful so far for me. my best friend got pregnant on her 6th cycle.

praying that AF doesn't show up for you but if it does, have your time to feel sad and ride the wave before you can start planning for ovulation again. and we're always here if you need to talk about babies if you don't feel like your OH is the best outlet! and what is it about men and not taking vitamins?! my husband did in the end but it took some persuading. i think they hate us insinuating that their sperm could potentially not be up to scratch lol.

@TheCakeIsALie18 omg a boyyyyy! I've been dying for an update haha. congratulations! i absolutely love the name charlie, it would be very close to the top of my boy name list if I didn't already have a few charlie's in my life. xx

TheCakeIsALie18 · 10/11/2022 11:37

@ttcfirstbaby90 if you can find something positive to take your mind off things that may help too. Stress is not going to make things any easier ❤️

Thank you! Yeah we have a name picked out. Charles Andrew (first and middle name) Charles is my dad's middle name and Andrew is hubby's late dad's name ❤️ and Charlie's we thought was super cute for a less formal nickname xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 thanks. I do need to have a real conversation with him. I need to find him in the right mood I think. He says all I talk about is babies but I honestly don't think I talk about them as much as I'd like because I'm conscious of annoying him. I'll keep yas updated but I feel nothing different than other months too so really not hopeful. AF due on Sunday so will test then if AF hasn't come early like it did last month. Chances are if you don't hear from me for a couple of weeks I'm out and will be drowning my sorrows until ovulation comes again. Absolute rollercoaster.

Congratulations on the baby boy. I really want 2 boys in the end but knowing my luck I'll get the opposite haha. Like you say though so long as they're healthy it doesn't matter in the long run. Do you have any names prepared?

TheCakeIsALie18 · 10/11/2022 10:56

@ttcfirstbaby90 I'm sorry you think you may be out again. I know it's hard when you want something so badly. But you're never completely out until AF arrives. Hang in there. Men unfortunately just don't really understand because it's not their bodies that they are trying to conceive with. Maybe have a chat with him and explain you're finding it difficult and ask him to show a little more compassion as it will make you feel better ❤️ I'm still keeping fingers crossed for this cycle for you ❤️

I'm sorry I haven't been around again for the last week or so been crazy busy again haha. Well last weekend we had our gender scan and I was so hoping for a little girl but it turns out we are having a boy. I'm not as disappointed as I was expecting to be thankfully haha. He's healthy and growing well and that is all I can ask for. 17 weeks exactly today and still don't feel pregnant 🤣 I'm trying to wait patiently for the quickening and movements to start so I can feel pregnant lol. Thought I had a funny feeling last night. Just gotta wait and see what the next few days bring!

I hope all you're pregnancies are going well! Give me updates! ❤️❤️ I've gor my fingers crossed for all you loves that are trying and in the TWW at the moment 🥰❤️ xxx

@eleveneleven11 I hope all is going well.

It's lovely to see everyone's pregnancies progress.

I've been avoiding forums this month. Im currently 13dpo on my 4th cycle and my bbt dropped today so im out again. On to the 5th. I never thought I'd find it this difficult as im usually super chilled about everything. It doesn't help that my oh just says "it is what it is" it's seriously starting to wind me up. Why can't he have more of an opinion or more empathy.

I bought some coq10 and omega 3 this cycle and hoped oh would take them with me but he's refusing to. I think hulk is coming amid af arriving and I'm due on my 32nd birthday. 😂 I wish I had happier news.

eleveneleven11 · 04/11/2022 09:38

one more sleep to go @TheCakeIsALie18!

how is everyone currently TTCing/in the TWW? eager for updates! x

TheCakeIsALie18 · 03/11/2022 10:00

@Hannargh oh dear 🤣 well you could always do the same if you really wanted to find out lol. Would make buying things yourself a lot easier haha. At least you can guarantee that if a friend throws you a baby shower that you will get lots of neutrals and probably lots of useful stuff like nappies and other basics! Xxx

OP posts:
Hannargh · 03/11/2022 09:20

@TheCakeIsALie18 her taste isn't so bad, but I don't trust her decision making when it comes to baby items, especially as she gets carried away in charity shops (we use them a lot but are perhaps more choosey). My brother and sister in law know the sex of the baby they're having in December but aren't telling anyone so that they can avoid all issues of telling her not to buy things too 😅

TheCakeIsALie18 · 02/11/2022 22:26

@Hannargh can't wait to see your scan!! We are having our gender scan on Saturday and I don't want to tell the MIL because I don't trust her taste in things lol.... for my birthday she bought me a pair of earrings that had a hand painted horse on them... looked like it had been painted by a 3yr old... why she thought I'd like them I have no idea! I don't want her buying some hideous girl or boy specific clothes lol 🤣🤣 xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 haha dont worry I think its quite normal. I definitely have one.

xttcbabyno1x · 02/11/2022 20:50

@Hannargh ah bless you!! You can say you don't want to see a potty shot! We went for a specific gender scan which is why we got this 😘 xx

Hannargh · 02/11/2022 20:31

@xttcbabyno1x so we are thinking of just not finding out, as my MIL is very into buying pink or blue things before the baby arrives. If we don't know and she doesn't know, then she can't do anything 😏
Although if we end up with a scan pic like yours all mystery will definitely be taken away.

xttcbabyno1x · 02/11/2022 15:54

@Hannargh I hope so!

Don't worry too much about symptoms as I have friends who are also pregnant and not had any symptoms at all and everything is fine xx

Are you planning on trying to see if you can see the nub? Xx

Hannargh · 02/11/2022 15:53

Oh good @xttcbabyno1x hopefully you're out the other side of it now.

Next Tuesday, so just got to hold out a bit longer. Husband is coming too and I suspect he will be the first to cry (although I saw some trick or treaters out on Monday and got teary - definitely got some hormones somewhere!) Things have been pretty quiet for me symptom wise, so I'm a little nervous about next week, but what can you do except hope for the best.

xttcbabyno1x · 02/11/2022 15:43

@Hannargh definitely! He was not shy bless him 😂

I've been okay thanks lovely had really bad morning sickness until yesterday and today that has calmed down thankfully !!

Amazing!! What day is your scan next week? Congrats that's amazing to be nearly 12 weeks xx

Hannargh · 02/11/2022 15:38

Bahaha that is one solid clue you're having a boy @xttcbabyno1x - congratulations! How have you been?

I'm around 11 weeks at the moment. Waiting "patiently" for my first scan next week. Due towards the end of May but also waiting to see what our dates are at the scan.

xttcbabyno1x · 02/11/2022 15:27

Wow I have missed so much of this chat!! Congrats to everyone on their BFP's etc ❤️ when's everyone due ?

I'm 16 + 2 now with a little boy 💙 wasn't shy in showing us he was a boy!

Anyone got any scans ?

TheCakeIsALie18 · 02/11/2022 12:44

@eleveneleven11 thanks lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one haha. Obviously as long as whatever we have is healthy I don't care. But there is still that fear there!! Only a few more days to wait! Xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 my best friend really wanted a girl and ended up with a boy. he's the most perfect thing ever obvs but i think if she doesn't end up with a girl next time round she'll be devastated 🤣
