TWW starting 31.07.22 - Company Needed

Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

@SLK1990 I really hope you still get a bfp, but I do think it's interesting to see if smep works or whether it's just a coincidence but I suppose you'd never know. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm not telling OH we're doing smep. He'll just dtd when I say haha. He hates talking about it all, hence me joining in. I don't have any friends as I'm a bit of a hermit 😂. At least any close friends. Last cycle I told him we have to dtd every other day not every day and he was so disappointed and said it makes no sense. Tried explaining it but he wasn't getting it.

SLK1990 · 09/09/2022 09:33

@ttcfirstbaby90
Took me until 26 too 😂we just got married in June so agreed to start once we had been on honeymoon and enjoyed a last holiday! I feel like men are sometimes a bit slower to get excited about it all until they see the actual positive test. I'm on 10dpo today and tested this morning with a bfn as expected! I'm thinking of trying smep next cycle too, haven't told my husband this yet 😂

SLK1990 · 09/09/2022 09:30

@Nypie sorry to hear about your BFN! Girls night sounds good, enjoy your cocktails while you can!

BFN for me this morning 😕but sort of expected as I'm only 10dpo so trying to stay positive!

eleveneleven11 · 09/09/2022 08:49

happy friday everyone!

@JoanHants lovely to have you with us! sending you lots of good vibes, sorry to hear it's not been easy for you :( sounds like you're handling it like a total trooper though. you majorly deserve your BFP!!! x

@Hannargh thanks for the info on B6! tempted to add it to my cocktail of supplements.. anything to feel like i have some control over this TTC malarky! x

@ttcfirstbaby90 hello! thanks for joining us. totally share your frustration over having unrealistic expectations about getting pregnant. at school they teach you if you have sex once without protection then you'll be pregnant haha. when we started trying in june i was aware from friends about the reality and the statistics but i was still convinced id be pregnant within 3 months. DH was convinced it would happen immediately lol. x

@pugsB how are you feeling today? I've had the 3rd night in a row where I've woken up in the night and struggled to get back to sleep. also been getting up to pee. i sleep through the night 90% of the time so a bit unusual for me but i did drink a lot of water before bed last night sooooo not that strange lol. I've also had some pain in my left side and again, google just stressed me out when i looked into it. exercise-wise, i do spin classes 2-3 times a week and I've been continuing those as usual. i didn't know that overheating was meant to be bad! i'll keep that in mind. alsoooo what supplements do you take out of interest? x

@Nypie ahhhh man sorry to hear about your BFN :( when is AF due again?? you're not out until she arrives! great plan on getting out and enjoying yourself tonight - a silver lining for sure. hope you're feeling ok. remember that it's ok to feel crappy about it and be disappointed!

ttcfirstbaby90 · 09/09/2022 08:43

@JoanHants I agree it's nice to see we're all in our 30s. It's strange that a lot of girls I went to school all have children now. Except my group of friends there must have been at least 8 of us and not one of us has had a child yet. Also I dunno what's going on but I can only see people welcoming you to the thread and not your first message.

@Nypie so sorry, there's still time though isn't there? Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good morning everyone else. CD3 I have a banging headache this morning my opks arrived yesterday I'm sort of looking forward to testing but a bit of a wait yet so need to keep busy and we're going on a camping holiday for 2 weeks when I should have my peak so that's annoying. Determined to test every morning though. OH asked if I was testing yesterday I was like don't be daft that's not how it works. AF is still here. 😂 I got in to binge watching one born every minute and he's asked some funny questions already that make me dread him being my birthing partner.

JoanHants · 09/09/2022 07:43

Good morning everyone!

Its Friday! Yay!

@Nypie sorry to hear about your disappointment, but remember, things will happen at the right time! You will get your bfp! Enjoy your weekend with your friends and try not to think about it too much.

I was reading through the last posts and its so comforting to see that Im not the only 30+ ttc here! Im 32 and its nice to see other girls in the same age group, I must often remind myself that I am not old 😣 it must be the long years of ttc and most of my friends already having 1 or 2 babies that is making me think like this!!

Anyway, its day 5po for me and I have slight dip in my bt this morning after constant rise in the last 3-4 days. Apart from that I don`t have other symptoms, by now my boobs normally get heavy and sore but still nothing this month. Anyone else experiencing symptoms?

Positive affirmations and baby dust to everyone! 😊

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 17:54

@ttcfirstbaby90 this was also the first thread I felt ready to jump in on. I've still got about 6 tabs open on my phone that I check up on. I put my potential ttc obsession into keeping an eye on other peoples' lives (ssh don't tell anyone).

@Nypie ahh that's really frustrating, especially when you start checking early. I hope you have a brilliant weekend, with plenty of cocktails and good company to take your mind off things. Lots of good things to look forward to. And you could still get your bfp this month!

Nypie · 08/09/2022 17:50

@Hannargh @eleveneleven11 @SLK1990 @pugsB hey loveliess, nothing on the test absolutely zilch. Ahhh it sucks. I have to remind myself of how good my life is was feeling teary about it last night. Gonna have a girls night tomorrow going to get fully dolled and have the cocktails. 🤞🤞🤞🤞 for everyone else I'm sure there will be atleast 3 with bfps

@JoanHants👋👋👋 how do you stay relaxed?? Sorry to hear your journey hasnt been straightforward hoping this month is yours!

Hey @ttcfirstbaby90 glad you are out of lurk mode! Hope af fudged of for you soon!

pugsB · 08/09/2022 16:12

@Hannargh makes sense. my injured back meant i was just not doing much past 4 days and maybe that has contributed to me over-analysing few times. I am thinking of changing up my everyday route so i can walk more and maybe buying new gymwear that keeps me cooler. Oo this could be fun potentially!

pugsB · 08/09/2022 15:38

@Nypie @SLK1990 fingers crossed for your testing!
@Hannargh good that you have distractions till next week! i am at 5dpo and i think i am going crazy. And here i was thinking i am so chill right after O!
@JoanHants sorry to hear about your long wait so far! Hoping this is your month 🤞🏼🤞🏼
@ttcfirstbaby90 i hear you! i wish i knew how totally up to chance it could be. only had a vague idea that as you age its harder to get pregnant. i wish there was a scenario in our mid 20s or heck even in late college in which we are educated on how its really going to be so we can plan our next decade accordingly!

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 15:38

@pugsB I'm also not sure - I walk a lot anyway but feel like I'm much more likely to go running or cycling in the tww because I need to keep busy (or feel like I'm doing something positive for anything that could be coming). I guess the standard message is do whatever is normal for you/what your body would be used to?

ttcfirstbaby90 · 08/09/2022 15:24

pugsB · 08/09/2022 15:15

Hello! My app shows I am 5dpo. However, i am wondering when O actually happens for gradual onset LH surge. does it always happen a day after peak? was not able to find much info on this specifically. If so this would mean i could be 6dpo and not 5dpo.

Overall I am doing Ok-ish. have been obsessing a little more on some days than others. So far i have noticed cramps in what i think is my ovary area alternatively on either side but more so on one side. looking this up online did nothing to reassure me. I also feel 'heavy' in my lower belly like i am bloated but I am not. Don't know how else to describe it. i also had one night of insomnia but that happens to me from time to time..not so early though usually a day or 2 before AF or after they start. I had injured my back the day after O which is complicating things a bit. I don't if what i am feeling is a cramp in my uterus or just muscle spasm of some sort..so I have given up. I am still temping but I feel i might go crazy if i keep tracking things. so i might give things a break for the next week or so and tey not to test before 12dpo. What do you guys do about exercise in the tww? i was scared to go to the gym. Not so concerned about movement but overheating which i hear is also bad.

@eleveneleven11 yeah man! its so hard! its my very first cycle and i feel like i am loosing it already..my cycles been somewhat irregular most of my teens and 20s ranging from 31-45days with occasionally skipping a few cycles. over the years i realized this was due to gaining weight and not eating properly. Since I turned 31 and after having a health scare but also becoming generally more responsible with food lol i am more regular with 32 day cycle on average maybe missing or delaying 1-2 periods a year. supplements have also helped a lot i feel.

I would like to know the answer to this too. I find it all so confusing hah.

ttcfirstbaby90 · 08/09/2022 15:22

@Hannargh Awh that's ace. It does seem like a good age to be fair. Same happened with me and my partner. I told him on the first date I wanted kids. So I've waited patiently with some slight nagging here or there haha. We agreed last year we would try from June this year. We wanted to try avoid a Christmas or a summer baby and I argued we should at least start in February. 😂 but he didn't listen and here we are on track for a potential peak summer baby not stopping now though. I just like him pick a day and he randomly said should we do it and I was like "ahh go on then" 😂

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 15:08

@ttcfirstbaby90 Hey! I'm not too far off you and @SLK1990 - I'm 32 and also trying for our first. I'd say I'd been ready for a while but, as is often the case with us, I was waiting a while for DH to catch up and let me know he was ready.

@JoanHants one of my friend (quietly) went down the IVF route. But I think they started quickly once things weren't happening (and had the money to). But it sounds like you're taking a very steady one step at a time approach which sounds very healthy when there are a lot of hoops to go through.

ttcfirstbaby90 · 08/09/2022 14:50

@SLK1990 It's so exciting isn't it. I would have tried in my early 20s if I had the right bloke but took me until 26 to find the right bloke. Albeit he's not very positive about trying which I find upsetting but he's trying so I tell myself he's just a bit scared about it all.
What day are you on? I lose track of who's on what?
I've been quiet strong willed with not testing until I'm due af. I was like the hulk on Tuesday so I knew it was coming yesterday.😂 Feeling a bit more relaxed today. Gonna give smep a go.

SLK1990 · 08/09/2022 14:43

@ttcfirstbaby90 Welcome! We are very similar, I'm also 31 and trying for my first. This is my second cycle trying so have my fingers crossed for you for 3rd cycle lucky!

SLK1990 · 08/09/2022 14:41

@Hannargh no not temping yet, do you? This is my second month using OPKs so not sure I need anything else to obsess over yet 😂but might give it a go for the next cycle to see if it helps pinpoint ovulation! What cheapie tests do you have? That's what I'll start with tomorrow, don't want to waste a frer this early!

@JoanHants Welcome! You have a great outlook on it and I'm really crossing my fingers for you this month!

JoanHants · 08/09/2022 14:38

Thank you @Hannargh I appreciate it!
I have never been pregnant, I have never seen a positive test, not even the faintest line. It will be quite surreal when it happens!

The next step for me will be hysteroscopy before we can proceed with IVF, my husbands tests all came back normal. Keeping my fingers crossed I will not have to do IVF, but we will see!

ttcfirstbaby90 · 08/09/2022 14:37

Hi all,
I've been stalking this thread since the beginning hope you don't mind me jumping in.
I'm 31 hoping to conceive my first, and just starting cycle number 3 for my first, I have long cycles typically 35 days so I have a long month ahead. CD2 currently and everything is irritating me. This will be my first cycle where I track ovulation with CB OPK and temps as I naively thought it was very straight forward conceiving haha. Not really done any prep besides taking folic acid.

I don't remember ever being told you only have a 20% chance each cycle in sex ed. 😂😫

Anyhow just thought I'd say hello and I'm hoping to see more bfps on this thread. 🤞🏻

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 14:33

Hi @JoanHants - you're very welcome here. I'm sorry it's been such a long journey for you but glad to hear that in theory everything is looking good - hopefully this will be your month!
If you don't mind my asking, have you had any pregnancies since ttc? It's good to hear you and your partner have been able to stay positive and relaxed.

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 14:28

@Shleepymummy well from what I've read it can help increase progesterone in the LP, so I've been taking it since ovulation. But I don't know if that checks out all the time, every time - more just from what I've pieced together. But apparently it can improve your uterine lining and promote progesterone production. It's one of the key vitamins in all the combined conception supplements, but I've not been taking a combined one. I've got a high strength B6 from Holland and Barrett (100mg), which is probably overkill. I've just been taking 1 a day but I think some studies recommend more if you are missing b6 foods in your diet (salmon, eggs, carrots).

JoanHants · 08/09/2022 14:16

Hi all, mind if I join you? I`m currently on day 23 and 4 days PO and we have been ttc for over 4 years. We are currently going through IVF referral but at first glance there is nothing wrong with neither of us so we are still actively trying to have a baby naturally. We are both positive and very relaxed about the whole situation, no pressure or stress so that is good.

I had a HyCoSy done on cd 15 this month (all went perfect, I felt absolutely nothing, the doctor was amazing and my tubes are fine, also I have many healthy follicles, a healthy thick lining and saw the dominant follicle) and hoping that by any miracle this will be the month I will see the two lines after having this procedure, I read about other women falling pregnant shortly after..

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone and lots of baby dust!

Shleepymummy · 08/09/2022 13:37

@Hannargh oooh talk to me about the B6, what does is help with, increasing progesterone? Assuming it’s just the supplement strength you buy in supermarket etc.

Hannargh · 08/09/2022 11:02

Not much to report here either - have had some aches across my hips since 2DPO but as I'm taking B6 I'm just assuming that's rising progesterone. 6DPO today and away over the weekend to see some friends and their toddler, which will be nice.
AF due on Wednesday so may test early next week just to see if anything has been going on. I've got a large stash of sensitive cheapies in the cupboard and it would be a shame not to try them out ...

Are you temping @SLK1990 ? Fingers crossed you get the chance to test tomorrow🤞
